my favourite thing about laios' party is that each of the members genuinely believes they're the responsible adult of the gang who's keeping the children safe. but then the more the story progresses, the more it becomes clear that the closest thing to that they have is not even part of the gang at all. Just a guy who has died three separate, comedically underwhelming deaths all the while repeatedly proclaiming he was trying to protect others. and somehow he's still more competent at it than them
