i find it so ironic how after becoming blind or, simply, disabled, day also turns invisible. suddenly, he's just not there, like it's not he who cannot see but he who cannot be seen.

meanwhile, mork experiences the brutality of being abandoned over and over again. that's his wound. when his sister leaves, the pain gets the loudest, but even outside of that, he's hearing the same thing over and over again.

from what we got to know, no one ever really learned why exactly rung decided to kill herself. i assume it was the guilt over feeling like she failed mork, like she brought him more peril than was worth living for (debt?). she obviously wanted mork to have a good future, but i guess none of her actions ever translated to mork in that way.

to him, rung left after deciding that mork just wasn't worth it. she took "the easy way out" after realizing that fighting beside mork and tolerating his behavior just weren't worth the effort. mork really wasn't making the best choices, but i don't think he was ever "beyond saving". mork just thinks this is how it all went.

and then he keeps hearing the same thing from others:

after being in jail, his friends abandon him even if he took part in that fight for them. he wasn't enough for them to stick around (not that they were actually that good company, but he knew them, spent time with them, relied on them on some level)

porjai broke up with him bc mork was prioritizing his friends over his girlfriend. which porjai points out humorously, as is part of their friendship as exes, but which lands as a stab anyway. "you weren't enough as you are," it says. "you should've done better to not have me leave you."

no one wants mork to work for them bc all they can see is his past mistakes and not him trying to presently correct them. his skills aren't enough to overshadow what he did. him trying to be better cannot erase those mistakes he already made. "you should've been better to begin with," it says. "there's nothing you can do to change that now."

ppl keep turning their backs on mork, leaving him behind, labeling him unworthy or simply not good enough. even day's family does this, looking at him once and going, "you obviously do not belong here."

day disagrees. on some level at least, he disagrees. bc mork actually sees him. after all this time, someone actually sees him again.

meanwhile, well. we had that whole montage at the end of the episode to tell us how badly mork wishes to believe that someone is finally giving him a chance to prove he isn't a lost cause, that he is worth something.

It may be simply Mordred refusing to see that Kara was executed for attempted regicide not being a magical Druid. Or that he is a teen blinded by rose-tinted glasses in regards to Kara's behavior.

But I believe Mordred knew very well about her beliefs and why she's in trouble. When Merlin confronts Mordred, the latter only brings up Kara being a Druid to correct Merlin about her being a Saxon and to appeal to him emotionally. When Mordred says Arthur will kill her, he knows it would be for attempted murder.

So why continue to vouch for her and even break her out? One, it's because she's his childhood crush, but also he knows exactly how she feels. Remember in s2, child Mordred was pissed at Merlin for trying to kill him. Since Arthur led his men to raid both camps, which threatened his life twice, it's safe to assume Mordred also hated Arthur at least somewhat. Of course, he eventually forgave by s5 and saw the kind of person Arthur is.

Mordred also likely met other sorcerers who held hate for Camelot for the Purge & continued persecution. So, Mordred knows where Kara's head is at, and if she continued to fight, her life would be on the line. That's why he was trying to convince her Arthur is a good man and things would change. Mordred was there when Arthur first interrogated Kara. When Arthur brought up Morgana, Mordred probably thought that Kara's words may be similar to Morgana, but many good people feel that way (him included at one point). Mordred's been out and about in the world, interacting with the rest of the magical community, Arthur has not.

Even so, Mordred still believes that he can make Kara more aware that Arthur is not Uther and that things can change, change her mind, and have her life spared.

When Kara dies, Mordred doesn't turn to Morgana because "oh he killed her cuz she's a druid/has magic, so now I must avenger her" it's because he realizes this situation happened because of the ban. Because Arthur kept the ban in place, ppl still live in fear. Because of the fear, some ppl turn to violence to escape oppression. Mordred realizes that will never change. (When Kara asked if Arthur kills those with magic, he doesn't refute that but switches points) More ppl like Kara will turn to violence, get caught, and die. The only way to stop that is to destroy the system aka kill Arthur.

I don't really mind if you're Chinese or not, I just found your posts on the 3 Kingdoms interesting to read and I'm glad that you enjoyed the unfamiliar foreign history, I mean I'm scared that I might make mistakes regarding the 3 Kingdoms and my own history cuz History can get confusing and "Misinformation spreads faster than facts", god don't I know that well, it caused major online historical debates that feel like a modern 3 Kingdoms but virtually and making the wrong claim can offend someone PRETTY BAD, there's a phrase for this in Vietnamese called: "9 people, 10 opinions" which means having very contrasting historical opinions or if it's about a specific historical character: "1 person, 10 opinions", that's my tweak version of the original saying cuz one character can have so many different and conflicted opinions about them

Gosh the debates ppl have about some historical figures can get iffy and weird and really hard to follow, cuz it's always the "Who's good or Who's bad", I always try to keep a calm neutral mind about Historical figures since I'm not exactly in the position to judge them or even condemn them for their actions cuz it's super complex at the time and what information I have of them may not be entirely correct

This reminds me of that certain situation where some history fans nowadays keep bitching about this historical character who's supposedly very bad cuz he/she did this and that and put their actual historical lore into a EXTREMELY stereotypical dramatic scenario that feel like those braindead plot cheap romance dramas people make for quick cash and not any true value to it, History is much crueler than what the romance drama may entail, it can be fun but putting actual people who did exist and their life stories in a biased controversial context just doesn't really feel right for me

I'm fine with historical memes, hell making comedies out of historical characters is also a way to remember and revere them (I saw one super good as a kid and it's actually how I learned about a new historical character that most don't talk about) but treating them not as actual humans who existed, but more like mindless puppets for a historical fantasy that doesn't even make much sense in a periodical sense is honestly bad

Call me stubborn but at the very least we should treat historical characters with basic decency, not because they're dead that we should treat and distort their stories however we want cuz we feel like it

But, i feel like a lot of the things ppl have gotten angry at key for lately are to a degree unavoidable for him. Like the m*donalds thing: i thought he'd signed an exclusive contract with them way before people starting caring that the chain was in support of isrl. He can't exactly back out of it? i also heard the general opinions of ppl in korea are pretty apathetic towards the current conflict (tho that is it's own conversation) and are unlikely to consider how supporting a brand would impact the situation. it's a lot to expect the average person to display overt political reactions when the conversations they're hearing don't influence their respective communities. Take us, for ex: we wouldn't be as opinionated about this if the spaces we occupy online weren't as vocal as they are. i know the ppl i meet irl don't really talk about it much, who's to say the ppl he knows talk about it? Just a general observation, not an "excuse" for their apathy rly. I just don't see a possibility of him cancelling his contract with them, to sum things up.

As for the Hyuna thing: he's still a person and a celebrity. It's not really like he can just suddenly go public at exclaim to the world how little he wants to associate with her. A response from him would only make the matter worse really, no? He would offend a lot of personal and public people whom he needs to associate with regularly. It would impact his group (shine as a whole) and all the people he works with (like I live alone/amazing saturday casts/etc) and the multitude of brands he is the face of. Just in general, i feel a lot of what he's getting slack for are out of his control and not necessarily indicative of who he is as a person. There is so much ambiguity to how he must behave given his career, it feels like his lack of response(s) are fairly justifiable. Shinee has been trying so hard lately to become as relevant as possible so they can compete with newer generations of kpop. I don't see him realistically putting that at risk. Good. This is going to be a stream of conciousness so bear with me, but recently I've been wondering if Louis or lthq aren't a bit disappointed with the fanbase so they stopped nurturing it so much? I mean, I am pretty certain that they hoped for more with FITF release and the fitf tour, considering what kind of venues they booked and how many dates they put out. And imo, if all this happened in 2020/2021 the fanbase would be more than enough to sold everything out and keep the album on top of the charts for longer. I think that maybe they saw the fanbase growth, saw the numbers the livestream pulled and then just took it for granted and thought it's always going to be like that and that fans are going to stay through everything. Unfortunately tho I feel like lthq and tbh Louis too don't really know this fanbase, its dynamic, how it operates and why people wanted to follow and support Louis in the first place so it's hard for them to work out a strategy. I mean, you won't tell me that someone business savvy would recommend pushing with the Freddie stuff that turned off A FIFTH of his 2020 fanbase off if we go off of his twitter engagement. He says that we need him and he needs us and I don't know if it's true in its entirety anymore... I mean he does need us but do we need him? What content is his putting out there for us to enjoy. When we look at the doc alone it's stunts and struggles of a straight laddy lad devoted dad. I'm nkt sure that people necessarily need this person. At least personally the reason why I fell in love with him as an artist and as a person was cause he seemed such an inspiring, fearless, bold and resillent personality and I could believe in him and his fight. And now you have this thing with this cancelation, where he didn't even mention what exactly he cancels and who exactly is affected as if hey let's pretend it was all a dream. And comparing it to him writing a lengthy explanation for when they had to postpone the signings for the fans in the UK.... I guess it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I could go on and on and on about Louis' situation but I think I can bring it all down to 3 main points:

1. As long as Louis and lthq don't figure out, that it wasn't the extra laddy lad Louis who sold out the first tour and who people followed back then, nothing will change.

2. Louis and lthq have to stop wanting to be an indie artist with mainstream numbers.

3. Bare minimum won't fly forever. You base your image on your connection with fans and they always show up for you, but when was the last time you showed up for them, when you went the extra mile for the fan experience? If you want the way you treat your fans to be your main thing, then I'm sorry but you could learn a lot from people like Lewis Capaldi when it comes to nurturing and connecting with the fans.

I hate the trope of characters hearing things out of context by chance (sideye @ shrek too) and if the mirror weren't there it wouldn't be an issue!! healing hair is so much more practical. at least it doesn't cause inherent problems (just large-scale plot problems which im much more on board for).

•hearing the many stories of curly from haiti he sworreeee he would never tell pony made everything worthwhile, pony has so much more material to use against curly now

•for curly meeting ponys extended family, i cannot say he rlly gaf, like he cares wayyyyy more for the gang and it shows bc curlys more chill, just sitting till its all over and pony cant blame him, hes not close to his extended family either and wants to go, no hard feelings but they arent much to talk about😭😭

•ponys family isnt dismissive of curly, but they dont have a huge interest of getting to know him and they arent exactly hiding it, whoops!!! curly could at least give them that props, just a bit if his respect for that, he hates when ppl try to act all buddy buddy w him

the problem i see with those till lindemann parties is that in most cases they didn't openly communicate from the beginning that they were sex parties. Tell people that this is what you're inviting them to and the ones who aren't interested will probably just say no. It's not that unreasonable to feel unsafe and scared when you realize you have been lied to about the intention of an invitation. So if they didn't want anyone to feel uncomfortable they could have made sure everyone was on the same page about what was going to happen from the beginning.

Well, you can't exactly advertize an orgy. Or at least that's probably what he thought. Still there are very much ppl who want them.

The idea was probably to get everyone together who might be interested & 'surprise them' & that those who wouldn't want to be personally involved would just have a regular party with booze & watch the show. For the many ppl who report positive experiences that's precisely how it worked out.

That said, he certainly did fail to consider that not everyone has a forceful personality & some people might freak out. (& in that freaked-out state for example see the security guys as not for their benefit but possible goons to trap them etc. It's not like rich guys doing that is unheard of. It's probably no coincidence that the whole thing exploded now after stories of that became so frequent in the news) or feel conflicted/pressured.

Personally I like casual sex but I've read various articles of ppl who had a bad time of it for reasons that wouldn't have occurred to me - It's not something you can do unless you're confidently in touch with your instinctual sense of 'I want this' or 'I don't want this'

The reports are inconsistent about whether it was communicated, in some cases it was & in other it wasn't. It definitely should have been consistent at least at the e-mail stage, eg. no one should have arrive there & be surprised that there's making out going on.

I can't blame ppl for getting freaked out at all; It was poorly thought out.

I remember one youtube newscaster mentioning that the one thing you really gotta be afraid of in showbiz is the Yes Men that will surround you like piranas and that will just tell you you're the greatest & never veto or sanity check anything you do, because that makes it easy to lose touch with realistic expectations. You lose the constant feedback you'd normally get from ppl surrounding you.

By which I don't mean 'oh hes a poor baby blame the bad bad staff', again as someone who's into BDSM he should have thought of measures to ensure everybody's comfort. There's nothing wrong with living out fantasies (& I mean not just his own but those of his fans, which no one seems to consider like passive victims none of which could possibly want to fuck a dude who's very much a sex symbol. ) but there have to be sanity checks to avoid stuff like the shitty experiences that some ppl describing in the news.

Again I'm just lamenting that the media is boiling it down to this dichotomy of cancellation or support when we could be having an intelligent debate & sensibilization for the various issues at play.

I certainly wouldn't say that I 'support' or 'stand with' him cause he did make errors that had predictable consequences that one should be sensibilized for in this day & age.

But on the other hand, while this is a fuck up, I don't see it as meriting total demonization you're seeing in the media.

If the roofies thing had been true or anything about people not being allowed to leave, that certainly would be 'burn in hell' territory & I would currently be thinking of the most metal way to destroy my CDs, but from the actual evidence I just don't think that happened & it's unfair that the media keeps spreading this version without any corrections.

What are your favourite 5 video games?

First off thank you so much for the question, as far as I can tell I don't think I've ever actually shared my fav video games on here.

This is in no particular order and will only include games I have beaten (so no Baldur's Gate 3 lol and I'll admit to cheating a bit by doing franchise for most instead of just choosing one lol):

The Last of Us Franchise - I absolutely love these games. I am someone that actually thinks Part 2 is better than part 1, not completely Part 1 story was tighter and more concise, but in terms of gameplay I thought Part 2 was so much better. I haven't played the Part 1 remake so idk how much of the gameplay was improved. But I consider Joel and especially Ellie some of the best characters in video games. And Abby gets too much hate. Joel can go around and kill a ton of people, but when one of those ppl comes after Joel suddenly it's a problem? Consequences.

Kingdom Hearts franchise - The first Kingdom Hearts is the video game that turned me into a true gamer I like to say. I played all the games when they came out and I always love them even as the story continually gets so complicated I gotta use youtube vids to tell me exactly what is going on haha

Mass Effect Original trilogy - If I had to choose an all time fav game it would probably be the original trilogy. This was my first Bioware game and the first game that I truly felt I was making real choices in the narrative and it blew my mind. And IMO Mass Effect 2 is truly one of the greatest games of all time. Won't go too much into my opinion on ME3, but in terms of the journey throughout 3 it was a SciFi war game and that was fun to play. This franchise reinvented itself with each game and that was cool. I really hope Bioware is able to make another one.

Horizon Franchise - Zero Dawn and Forbidden West are not underrated or undiscovered gems cause they are definitely well known games that have sold well and been received well. But the way they are talked about in gaming circles is so weird that they often feel like underappreciated games for sure. Aloy is one of the best protags in video games and the open world does what so many ppl want from open world games. Especially Forbidden West with a world that feels alive, side quest that are more than just fetch quest (though of course those still exist too) and awesome DLC story set after the main story. But the game gets getting released near bigger more popular games so it doesn't get the attention it deserves, and then too much of the attention these days is still just on "Aloy isn't a model with a perfect face." Idiots.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey - Okay now this one is probably controversial in AC fandom, but while I don't think this is the best AC game (that's still ACII imo) this is the game that I had the most fun playing and Kassandra is best girl. This is the game that got me back into the AC franchise after I stopped buying after I beat ACII. The world was so huge but I found so much to do and had to much fun and other than Cyberpunk 2077 I think this is the game I've put the most time playing cause I just love the world and characters so much. Also the combat in this to me was incredible. I absolutely loved the skills and despite what ppl say you absolutely can be a full assassin in this, it's just not with a hidden blade. At least I was able to take out full forts without being detected plenty of times once I had the right skills to do so.

I know this isn't exactly what he's saying here, but this video is reminding me of the phenomenon of people acting like the rejection and unsafeness stops after childhood, and once you're an adult no one's judging you in a way that materially affects you, and your social anxiety is just in your head now, it's actually good and safe to be yourself now and uh...for a lot of us, that's just not true?

Like, yeah, I was bullied and socially rejected as a kid, and that was during my formative years, and that's caused trauma and anxiety, etc. Yes, true.

I've had friends and family members (as well as a lot of well-meaning internet ppl and media sources) try to tell me that all of the judgment and damage is in the past, because kids are ignorant and cruel, and that no one is judging me like that anymore, except maybe a handful of enormous jerks, but they can't hurt me or affect me in any real way because I'm an adult, and I don't want jerks in my life anyway.

And its just not true!

First of all, because I often see and hear those exact well-meaning people turn around and judge and reject people socially, often for being or doing the same things I am or do.

Secondly, because even with all my masking and people-pleasing, I still get judged and rejected in my life all the time. In university classes, I would still not get picked for group projects, and not be invited to the class group chat -- and that's not just a "wahh, no one likes me" situation, that has a material effect on how well I am able to do in the class, because I'm doing group-size projects by myself, and I'm not able to reach out to classmates for questions and support like everyone else can. In jobs, I've had supervisors single me out as a "problem", or at least an annoyance, even though I'm doing my work as well, or sometimes better than my co-workers. So I get extra surveillance, extra rules, bad shifts, pay raise denials. I get sent to do tasks in isolation, and other employees learn to avoid me so they don't get caught in the wake, so i don't get the chance to decompress through socialization on breaks like everyone else does. And of course, that's just in the case that I pass the amorphuous vibe check of the interview and get the job in the first place -- I have absolutely been passed over for hire for peers with fewer qualifications, but was more conventionally attractive and had better people skills. And I'm not saying that like I'm special, I feel like we all know that that's a common occurrence, right? And I'm not saying the person who got the job is a bad person, and I'm not saying all my uni classmates were bullies or bad people -- but people can tell I'm different, and they gravitate away from me, and even if they're not targeting and bullying me, I lose out on support and opportunities. That's not in my head, that's real. And like I said, this is with me masking and bowing and scraping as much as I can. So why on earth would I believe that being more myself would cause me no "real" harm? I'm already experiencing harm!

Thirdly, I see people just like me being judged and rejected and shot down, in the media and on the internet, all the flipping time. People who look like me and/or act like me are still the butt of the joke in media every damn day. You can't tell me only a handful of the worst people on the planet are judging me when everyone involved in the writing and directing of thousands of films and tv shows are doing it, and god knows how many viewers are laughing at it. I can't count how many tiktoks and reels I've seen where op tells a story about a "super weird" customer/co-worker/classmate interaction they had, and hundreds of commenters laugh and applaud and agree that the interaction was sooo weird, there was obviously something waaay wrong with the other person, maybe they were even on drugs or something, could've been dangerous actually, you should steer clear of people like that.

And all of this is not even going into how hard it is dating, or getting doctors to believe you about your complaints, or the fact that the handful of huge assholes who follow you around to voice nasty comments both online and in real life do actually really suck, and they would suck whether I had the childhood trauma or not, and it would be nice to bea heard out and get some support on that sometimes instead of just being told to quash down the hurt and "don't let it get to you", you know?

And this isn't a post about changing the whole world or penalizing basically decent people for following socialization instincts or whatever, that's a different discussion. I'm just saying that there's a point where "be yourself" positivity stops being encouraging, and starts feeling like gaslighting. Its essentially telling you that all your social fears are in your head, and you yourself are the only reason you don't have what you want in life, and no one's judgment of you is ever actually harmful if you just "don't let it get to you", and that's not helpful, actually.

Like if I say work events make me nervous because what if I choke on drink and pee myself and have an asthma attack and also the police show up and the building burns down -- yeah, that's catastrophizing, I would probably benefit from being talked down a bit and maybe taking a lorazepam. But if I say work events make me nervous because interacting with people is hard for me, and if I don't do it right there could be negative consequences...don't tell me that's all in my head.

The intense bullying and ostracizing that I experienced as a kid didn't let up over time because everyone around me voluntarily got nicer and less ignorant and saw the error of their ways. It let up because I got better at masking, and "providing value" through humour, task competency, and acts of service. These things cost me a lot of time and energy, but I don't just do them out of mere habit, I do them because they earn me things -- things that I start to lose when I get exhausted and start to backslide. Things that I watch other people lose when they do not or cannot mask as much as I do.

It's not all in my head, ok?
