Back when I was a kid (15 or something) and I was into the MCU I always had a sort of disdain for most of the avengers because they had a heavy reliance on unnatural superpowers and/or expensive technology. My favorite avenger was Hawkeye, followed by Black Widow, simply because their 'superpowers' were just pure skill and talent developed from years of training. Hawkeye shoots arrows and Black Widow kicks people. Sometimes less is more!!!

totally understandable...he's very pretty indeed (especially with scars and blood etc on him) <3 if you need more spader in your life i recommend watching sex lives and videotape (1989) next, he's gorg in that one too. secretary (2002) is also great (even if its not one of my fav looks...he's really great in it) jack's back (1988) and bad influence (1990) and wolf (1994) are Maybe Not Exactly great movies but he looks good in them too. LOL

i still can’t believe the novel farewell my concubine (1993) is adapted from ends with duan xiaolou and cheng dieyi meeting in a bathhouse and forgiving one another and singing together and everything is good. that’s the kind of ending i imagine when i’m in denial about how it actually goes. i mean, how else is a story about a man whose nature as a gay man and the son of a prostitute renders him fated to never have anything real, neither relationships nor status, and so he gives up what little he has to cling to opera, the illusory status and illusory relationships of which, while never claiming to be real, are recognized as beautiful and believed to be everlasting; and yet he lives in a time dedicated to the eradication of the illusory, a world obsessed with tearing off all painted skins and cathartically punishing whatever they find underneath; so he, a man with no face beneath his painted skin, finds himself hemmed in by han forces and on the wrong side of history through no intention of his own, just like his lifelong stage role of consort yu, and thus has no place to go but deeper into the illusion, shedding what ties to the mortal world he has left and allowing the opera costumes burned by the revolution and by his abortive love to become his skin and turn his flesh to ash with it, supposed to fucking end?

I just watched Madam Web for the first time.

Was it the best movie to ever exist? No.

Did I enjoy it? Yes.
