do you have any recommendations on how to find a community to play fighting games with? i just picked up ggstrive and was loving it so it's been on my mind

start.gg is the go to place to look for local tournaments. i've talked to people who have found events on facebook and reddit but i can't speak to that. whether or not u find anything is going to be dependent on where u live and how far ur able to travel. check relatively often, sometimes listings get made with very short notice before the actual event. if there's a major near u it can be worth it go regardless of skill level. i treat them less like a tournament where i have any chance of winning and more like a fighting game convention. multiple times i've remarked to people i've played casuals with that there's no scene near me and then learned about monthlys an hour away from me that i failed to find online

there's also the option to start hosting ur own local, which i understand is like telling a hungry person to open a restaurant. i run a small monthly, it's been a huge challenge but i'm really proud of myself for what i'm building in this place that's starting to actually feel like home.

if ur looking for online community there's millions of discord servers. i've joined a bunch for various online tournaments and they p much always have looking for game channels. personally i kind of don't like discord so i don't have any recs, sorry :(

the thing about fighting games is that everyone is always looking for people to play with and if u can be the person to initiate that connection it tends to work out <3

Hey dude if you have the time I have some questions about genshin. Right now my party consists of kaeya, amber, barbara and xiangling. I main kaeya, so in battles I lean heavily on him. Usually my strategy is that I use barbara to get the enemies wet (hehe) and then I freeze them and finish them off with kaeya. Sometimes I’ll throw in xiangling’s lil bear dude. The problem here is that I recently reached ar 31 and everything has gotten SO HARD. Everyone’s kicking my butt, even hilichurls, and it’s so time consuming to gather everything to keep improving them and their weapons. By the time I do, everything turns even harder again. Basically my question is, do you have a better strategy? How can I build a better character or party? Thanks!

ah okay i have a few different options for you but you can mix and match whatever you're comfortable with! just gonna list out a few ideas i just got from reading this

thing only get harder when you finish ascension quests (so that will be those domains where you have to fight the electro cube at the end) so i would hold off on doing those! you can keep accumulating experience even if you have an ascension quest pending so i'd try to make your party strong before you actually do those.

if everything including overland enemies are really really hurting you right now you can actually bring your world level back down to where it was previously by opening your profile and clicking the ! next to your world level. the drops you'll receive will decrease to what you have previously but as a short term solution to make your life easier you can do that

i don't know who else you have right now and you are very early game so i'm just going to assume you have the core seven (so thats traveller, amber, kaeya, lisa, barbara, xiangling and noelle). there's no wrong way to build a party in genshin and pretty much every character has the potential to be equally as great as any other so it's not that, i think the freeze technique you’ve got going on is one of the best (i recommend it all the time- fev can attest to this fghjkl they cant do damage to you if they’re stuck) but also i think maybe you'd benefit from noelle's shielding? she's not very fast and she won't save you from everything but this might help you to not die as fast as you seem to be saying you are.

artifact levels, talent levels, and weapon levels can get forgotten if you aren't levelling all of those already so idk if you've done that but i would recommend it... i can't remember at what level you can take on domains but i would just try to have your main party on artifacts levelled to around 12 and talents at the max you can make them. if it's a 4 star weapon it's worth levelling as high as they can go but with 3 star weapons i would try to avoid using them if you don't have to

again i can't help u like a huge amount in terms of advice but if ur on the asia server i would be happy to coop if you need help! if you aren't you could? join my server theres a bunch of people all from different servers who would be happy to lend a hand i think. plus you can talk more about what characters you have and stuff like everyone in there is really helpful and probably better at giving advice then me
