#tag talk#a friend said something about musk colonizing the planets and I sat down and just.. walked through it with him. it took while but he got it#reminder that some people can have their minds changed. some people can be taught. you can make a difference sometimes.#and yeah. some people can't. neither me nor my brother have been able to get through to my dad. I've given up on that.#but I can make a difference in my immediate friend group. I can teach the people around me.#when I first met my ex he described himself as right wing even though he's got several trans friends and is bi and dated me. a queer.#now he's way more centrist which isn't ideal. but is pretty good.#we've discussed everything from mental health advocacy to treatment of homeless people. he's still iffy about immigration#but he's made a lot of progress. he's come up against a lot of his biases that don't line up with his actual beliefs.#and idk. our relationship is special to me because he's genuinely a cool guy#but also because I've helped him become more critical and evaluating of things he's grown up believing his entire life#and that gives me some joy in knowing that even in a very small way I've made the world around me a better place#there's a lot of shit happening and it's not your responsibility to fix all of it.#but you can pick something small and work at it.#it's like that adhd advice. you can half ass anything. even if you can't complete a whole task you can complete part of it#and even doing something small is better than doing nothing.#one of my friends is a lawyer with impressive energy and resilience. she will make a bigger tangible difference than I probably ever will.#but I will continue to do what I can in small ways towards the people around me.#because I refuse to grow static. I refuse to become impotent.#I have failed to die six times and I'm not interested in trying a seventh time. I am going to live and grow and change and flourish#and part of being a living being is engaging with the ecosystem around you.#so I will do my best to positively impact the world around me in whatever ways I feasibly can#I do often feel like I'm not doing enough. I'm not donating enough. I'm not calling enough. not emailing enough.#but I can take pride in the things I Can do. the people I can help. the lessons I can teach. the example I can set.#my lawyer friend is exhausting to be around. she thinks everyone should be as informed and involved as she is.#I have had to set deliberate boundaries between us because she drains my energy in 0.5 seconds if I'm not careful#I cannot do nearly as much as she does. I simply do not have the capacity for it. but I can do something.#and that something will have to be enough for me.

Yeah I was definitely thinking a custom WE black satchel with millions of pockets each organised meticulously (He has OCD, is visibly ND, and is paranoia personified. No one else is allowed to touch it and if one thing is in the wrong pocket, he has to reorganise it all over again). There's also secret, hidden pockets and certain parts you can only access if you follow a certain pattern, like those Chinese puzzle lock boxes that are really cool.
It's Stephanie who has the tote bag.
I just want to say, Bruce Wayne is a purse mom. Batman has the utility belts and so do all his partners of course, but when they're civilians Bruce probably has a cloth Neon Knights tote he carries. The kids just hand him anything they don't want to hold and it goes in the bag. It also has everything they could possibly ever need. Headphones? Yep. Snacks? Definitely. First aid kit? Of course. A secret pocket with weapons? Duh. Even his friends on the justice league eventually learn if you need something, even something super random and mundane, ask Bruce.

And THEN everything you would need#Not all at once it just happens completely by coincidence that he happens to be carrying what you need#Along with ten things you don't#He doesn't even know how he has it. He doesn't remember packing it. But if you need it go for it!#Big BrotherTM is always (Somehow) prepared!#Just ignore the cereal crumbs okay#Whereas Steph definitely has everything cutely organised. Like Organisation Tiktok. Label maker and everything#But it's all just thrown into a tote#Her entire skincare collection is in there. You never know okay?#I can imagine Jason would also end up having one as organised as Bruce at some point. He doesnβt panic when something has been moved tho#Just likes to have things on hand. This is usually when he's babysitting Lian tho or any of his younger siblings#He's great with kids. It's his lil mum bag. He also keeps stuff in it for kids he finds living on the streets#Spare snacks and stuff. Vouchers for meals from local shops and restaurants. Spare cash and basic toiletries#If they want the help then whatever they need to get to a orphanage or protection centre for kids ran by the Wayne family#And spare pocket knives and self defence equipment he can give them#The streets are rough and not every kid on them wants to be saved. Doesn't mean you can't teach them a thing or two about self defense tho#Dami might have a mini version that's as organised as Bruce's but for animals and such#Starts adding to it when he gets older tho#Tim's ADHD ass isn't bothering. He has whatever he needs in his pockets. He either planned for everything already#And wore whatever had enough storage. Or he's just emerged from his room after three days of being MIA#And whatever happens happens. If he has what he needs good. If not then he'll improvise. Both boy genius and a dumbass.#Cass was built to survive no matter where she ends up. She improvises most of the time and it always works out for her.#Miss girl is just built different. And anything she needs Steph probably already has lmao#Duke is just happy to be here. He carries around some basic care stuff. Some snacks. Water and whatever pop he fancies that day#Some skin care. Coco butter. Lotion and vaseline. Also some self defense equipment that he also gives out to street kids.#A fidget toy for Damian and Tim if he's patrolling with them just in case they forget. It's also good for when he himself is bored#A note card the other Batkids put together with tips and advice that he still carries. A notepad for writing/Drawing. And a puzzle book#Patrol can get boring in the day okay.#I was just gonna do Steph and Dick but here we are.
