OH my god this is probably my favorite episode of the season so far. Things have been really heavy with the overarching plot so I feel like we needed a little bit of a breather.

The creators did so well balancing the script for this one between the humor, the tension (especially at the end of 'will they attach on time') It almost felt like a callback to how a TCW episode would be balanced.

I'm relieved to know they literally just took the paint off their armor to 'blend in' (which were they really?) But I've been stressing all season that something horrible was the reason for them scrubbing the paint off.

I needed this episode, we all needed this episode to have some action and progression in the overarching plot with some good humor. Not the only two (three) things missing.

Werewolf Ness

Watching that Alvin and The Chipmunks meet the Wolfman movie reminded me of this post I made a while ago. Let me expand the werewolf Ness idea with this specific movie in mind.

Now the plot about Alvin accusing their neighbor of being a werewolf would be kinda funny with Mike, Abby and Ness, but now this time it's Abby making up all kind of conspiracy theories.

So Ness is their new neighbor in this, who's very reserved in the beginning and doesn't talk to anyone. All this arouses Abby's suspicion, who'd been secretely reading Mike's monster and horror comics he'd owned since his teen years.

Promptly, this new Mr Sparky next doors became one of the creatures in her books, tho her most recent theory is that he is a werewolf, of course, Mike only rolls his eyes about this and she feels forced to collect enough evidences so her brother believes her.

Now, Ness isn't stupid, he of course notices her snooping around but doesn't do anything since she doesnt appear like a big threat, only when Abby looses sth (maybe her notebook or so) on his property, he rings on their door to return it and take the chance to introduce himself awkwardly. Abby popps up too while they talk, and she explained that she just wanted to take a look at his dog, because she hears it howling at night from time to time, but has never seen it. Ness nervously explains that he doesn't own a dog.

Mike apologizes for her behavior and promises it won't happen a second time, but Ness is distracted by the rising full moon, so he says it is alright (he doesnt hold a grudge anyways) and pretty much flees back to his house.

Mike is holding a lecture...but it doesnt really stop Abby in her task to prove her theory and they kinda argue.

"Isn't it suspicious I hear it howling from his house, even tho he doesnt own a dog?"

"Not this again...."

"Mike, I'm serious, something about him gives me the creeps..."

It goes on like this for some weeks, Abby not finding any strong evidences to convince Mike, instead making him more and more impatient until he forbids her to watch and read anything that has to do with monsters.

Ness is always polite when they cross ways and even helped them with their flower bed once. (He disappeared quickly that day, Abby was pretty convinced it was because of the wild wolfsbane growing in their garden).

Soon, however, he learns that his sister had been right all along. Maybe because one evening he had visited Ness to apologize for sth Abby did and ended up seeing him transform into a wolf.

Mike is horrified, flees and hides with Abby. Despite his fear, he can't help but feel bad for Ness.

So in the morning, when Ness is himself again, Mike once again knocks on his door. Ness opens hesitantly, terrified of himself, remembering that Mike had been with him the night prior,but they have a talk about everything and Ness ends up explaining a lot about his kind.

They become friends quickly and as a were, Ness quickly becomes attached to those humans.

They fall in love, blabla and thats pretty much how Mike got himself a werewolf husband who's protecting them like a guard dog.

I know this is dumb and niche but Its been too good in my mind🥺

anyways, i've always thought about attaching one of those devices to my classical guitar so i could turn it into electric-acoustic as well, but i feel like when it comes to electric acoustic guitars, it's always better to buy one and not diy one.

i love how this is something we have in common though🥺

the middle school i went to required us to learn different pieces on the flute and get graded on them. we had a book all about it and that's how i learned hehe. it is indeed a beautiful instrument though and i find it fascinating how you can produce different sounds through it just with your breath. and it's honestly pretty easy to learn and with your musical background, i'm sure you'd pick it up really quick :") ahh, the harp is such a magical instrument. it's so calming and relaxing <3 wooow i'm always highly impressed by people who can play the violin, because it's not easy instrument at all. and self taught piano? respect. are you secretly a music genius too? 👀👀

my best friend actually taught me some piano and i also learned some things on my own, but i haven't played the piano that much ever since he moved across the world :/ nowadays, i mostly use the piano when i'm trying to guess the chords/notes in a song.

it's always nice to hear the perspective of other people on creative work tbh, cause everyone perceives things differently. i think that's my favorite thing about literature - how subjective it is🥺

I did used to have a classical guitar before my dad gifted me the electro-acoustic one. but yes, I guess you could diy it, it's just a hassle and a little tedious but some electro-acoustics are pricey too, especially now with inflation 😭 but omg you have an electric one!! and how is it? I also love how we have that in common, I feel like I love talkingt o people about guitars and I can go on for a while hehe

I wouldn't say music genius 🤭 I've just always been interested in performing and doing covers. It's funny actually, because I could never do a speech in front of my class but I could perform a set of songs in front of majority of my high school peers, I just find it fun that way

i'm almost positive there was some psychological manipulation in some way yes, but for the most part len isn't pretending to pity it, he genuinely does feel some worry for it and monitors its' wellbeing (then again tho its in a slightly fcked up way w/ his idea of 'things being better this way')

its' anatomy is kinda very fucked up yes lmaoo, i was to trying to see how many wrong places i can have limbs in or how many limbs i can bend the wrong way with it still looking somewhat coherent, so the bones are definitely messed up ye... despite that drawing i don't think it actually can fully stand upright, it mostly moves around by crawling around (always envisioned the movement kinda like a spider/centipede but a bit... worse-looking?). i'm almost certain it is in some form of constant pain yes! even in spite of getting used to its' state after a while... it probably can contort itself and occasionally shift limbs and stuff to some degree ye, but also that's just my bullshit explanation for me drawing it super inconsistently b/c it's hard asf to draw okay 😭😭

the no-mouths is more of a symbolic thing but like the purposefully-hard-to-move thing, while it is convenient for len and it would be cool to think he planned that out, he's not that smart 😂😭 technically speaking he fucked up, it wasn't supposed to turn out like that but he basically went "yknow what, sure, this works" b/c what else do you do really in that situation

its' faces are meant to be expressionless sorta lol, i sorta try drawing the eyes with a vacant gaze; ik fukase's eye got fucked up in the final drawing so for funsies here's some closeups of the eyes w/o special effects bs:

you're not really supposed to be able to tell what it's feeling at any given moment, though there are sometimes clues as to how it might be feeling... nobody really knows for sure though

not sure exactly either to what extent it carries the memories & feelings of its' original components, if it has any remaining at all, but the attachment to len is definitely there (i mean duh... who else's basement is it trapped in 🙄)

Misilanious Edward headcanons bc I love him

He's chubby as an adult bc he's overcompensating for when he was starving in the orphanage and he has a big sweet tooth- namely pumpkin pie and dumb nerd has gotten sick on raw cookie dough since he's an impatient dork. Also the contrast between Bruce being angular/ toned and Edward being round and soft is s teir. He's sort of insecure about it but he's never risking starvation again since he's so used to not knowing when his next meal will be

He's taller than Bruce Wayne but shorter than Batman bc Batman wears boots and the ears on the mask (Edward takes jabs at Bruce by referring to him as a spoiled dwarf on his livestreams even tho he's literally only 1-2 inches taller)

The whole "all my strength is up here *points to head* 🥺" schtick is obviously total bs. Dude bludgeoned the mayor to death (albeit awkwardly). He just said that to let Batman know he's incharge of their dynamic since he's a simp 🙄. He's very physically strong and capable he just looks soft and disarmingly sweet so nobody would think he is

He'd sing to the younger orphans if they were having trouble sleeping from nightmares or if they were sick (predominantly lighthearted songs like Beach Boys songs or other hymns). He'd also read to them as a group before bed every night (he'd do funny voices and everything).

One of the main games he'd play with the younger orphans was a variation of hide and seek but when he found them he'd tickle them and would stop when they answered a riddle correctly ("come on you aren't even trying that one was easy! Now you're just getting them wrong on purpose aren't you? What's that? You need to speak up kiddo!"). Inevitably after everyone was found they'd all gang up on him and wreck him.

He'd cry like a proud dad whenever one of them would get adopted but at the same time be mad at himself for being sad that they were leaving. He gave up on trying to get adopted around when he turned 13-14 since he cared more about the younger ones getting out of the "hellhole" orphanage.

When he was able to leave when he turned 18 it broke his heart how sad the remaining kids were to see him go

"It's alright buddy you're all grown up now. You don't need me anymore" "But Eddie I'll always need you 🥺"

Cue Edward crying for hours on end in his new apartment when he's supposed to be happy that he's finally free but he realizes he won't feel free until all those other kids are

He forms VERY strong attachments if he likes someone/ something which is obviously evident with Batman but also extends to his pet rats and his followers. If he finds out one of his 500 followers is in a financial bind he'll send them money orrrr "deal with" their landlord. He highly values loyalty.

After he knows someone for awhile and they gain his trust he gives the best bear hugs ever (he will also use them to initiate tickle fights. He's an effective ler bc of how long/ lanky his arms are so he can very effectively trap people. Once he's got you it's hard to break free but the second you do he's done for and will start giggling before you even touch him)

He's the type of person who gets very worked up when he's angry or passionate about something/ has a tendency to angry cry which is another reason why he likes the Riddler mask so much. It hides vulnerability

He gatekeeps certain bands bc he's an annoying nerd ("*sees someone wearing a Radiohead shirt* oH REALLY? Name 3 songs!1!1!") Shut up Edward

He streamed Among Us and played with some of his followers *ONE time*. It was absolute anarchy. He raged multiple times complete with audible voice cracks and ended up banning a person for falsely accusing him of being the impostor and succeeding.

So I really wasn't going to be all active here for a while because I recently just lost my dad (sorry tmi) but by the gods Miss Caly. Chapter 41 was too much.

San and MC intimacy? I was stubbornly team mcxhwa because c'mon it's my mans Park Seonghwa but damn do San and mc feel right. But that parting scene? That line where she says SH chose not to fight for her but San literally just can't? I sobbed and I'm not ashamed. Jisung is seriously gonna' get hell for this and I'm hyped for the vengeance that's coming.

That was brilliant btw. I was wondering how you were going to make Jisung force mc to come with him when it seemed like he already lost - the crew could have just killed him tbh (which would have been so anticlimactic, thank God I'm not the one writing this thing) - but finally introducing Jin's character as an actual tangible threat by confirming his involvement in this whole thing? I kid you not, I put my phone down to slow clap.

And I know his decision was completely logical but Hongjoong made me furious. I was soft for him with the corset interim but I really hate the way he is with mc. I can hardly wait to see him in a position where he needs mc so desperately he would be begging for her to stay. I don't think he will ever but it would be so satisfying to have the Scourge kneel before mc. Just saying.

Gosh I know this is so long already like so much for being "inactive" but I have to talk about the WooYeo scene because that simultaneously broke me to pieces and made my mind race accompanied with some heart palpitations. OH MY FUDGING GOSH, she was one of the slaves Yeo had to choose from??? Nonono, YEO ACTUALLY CHOSE HER but changed to Woo because he asked to be chosen instead??? Did I get that right???? Because that would make so much sense. Woo's dreams about mc drowning and him not being able to save her, feeling guilty that he's got it better than other slaves. Is it because he feels he took that chance from someone else (from mc) by asking to be chosen by Yeo??? And I know WooYeo went through hell but to know what mc has gone through (is still going through) and to have this connection with her moon and sea and all that stuff? Maybe Woo really is the danger Daichi was talking about and it's because mc and Woo are so interwoven that Woo's every decision affects mc the same way the moon affects the sea??? Agdyshhfebakaohdhs

the san and mc intimacy! there's something about writing them that really tugs at my heartstrings, altho i suspect that's because i put so much into san's character from a writing standpoint that i'm attached now, but ahhhh it was tough to bring them together just to separate them at the end :(

it's kinda funny bc i was still wrestling with how exactly the chapter would end, i knew i wanted jisung to take mc somehow, but i wasn't sure about what it would look like until i was writing it then it just sort of came to me like that? and i was like 'wait i have plans xyz for act 6 so lets have this happen' and it just! came together in a perfect way!

as for hongjoong, it really is a case of a character being infuriating beyond belief, and i wish i could say that it gets better, but 42 will reveal more that won't help any kkkkkk the thought of scourge kneeling before mc and begging her to stay and needing her that desperately.... i need it. it would really be amazing wouldn't it 😆

and then my personal highlight of the chapter being the woosang scene wow yeah it's a lot! and that throwaway remark yeo made at the end truly was a throwaway remark that i threw in on a whim, but it is important and it's something that wasn't going to be revealed until later but this is a good enough hint for now! buttttt given the hints i've left, i can say that you are on the right track absolutely!! it's all connected and it's all interwoven and act 6 is really about revealing a lot of information and answering questions so we can move into a new 'era' so to speak. there's a lot to unpack but!! i think the most important thing is that connection mc and wooyoung share, and how wooyoung's decisions affect mc the same way the moon affects the sea kkk :3
