i was having a moment(tm) about this pretty recently coz it doesn't even seem to be an inflation issue but straight up price gouging from grocers (especially + unsurprisingly from the major grocery retailers)

like prices shifting every now and then was pretty normal whenever stuff was happening with production or recalls or whatever (tho it could also just have been corporate greed) but the scale it's been happening recently is insane

#that's like if we're being real it's goin beyond just groceries but a lot of basic necessities in general #housing (in the us at least) is shit #utilities are expensive af (or at least electricity is where i'm at)#internet is a hot mess after the fcc nerfed net neutrality and now every major isp has data limits and crazy overage fees #but oh we won't make you pay over $100 bucks coz we're not /that/ evil #it's just....really really really fucking annoying and it'd be nice to see some ray of hope or a pathway to a solution or something #rant
