It may be also that you're healing parts of yourself and you are more on your own, and despite you'd like to not feel alone, you kinda ended up into this cycle/habits of closing off to others. I'm sure this behaviour you have picked up originates from a trauma of some kind, so I hope you can find out how to deal with it and heal it, at least a bit. Step by step, slowly but with determination. Be kind with yourself if you fall back into that habit here and there on your path, it's fine. It's not something one stops doing in a day or a couple of months. Give yourself (and others) time. You immediately close off to others the moment you feel "betrayed" cause they say something you don't agree with... give them time to show you who they are for real and don't take it all so personally. Hey, ram anon! So the omegaverse is different, involves genetic stuff with mates and the whole alpha, beta, and omega dynamics that people like to explore. I’d like say this challenge is fun and unique. We put our FOOT into making this because us Sims 3 simmers are in desperate need of more challenges. The Sweet & Sour Legacy Challenge is a six generation legacy challenge inspired by fruits. These fruits have a sweet and sour aesthetic for each generation. For example, the sweet fruit generations are compassionate and up-beat. Meanwhile, there’s a little twist with the sour fruit generations because it’s more pessimistic and chaotic. All-in-all, if you're a simmer that is looking for a fruit themed and drama fulfilled legacy challenge, this is a challenge for you!

I would say you like to live your life on the edge. So, what if you leave a place with five different things that do not belong to you? Any who --- hey, wait a minute... since when did your neighbor/neighbour get such a nice car? Oh my god! Did they seriously leave their keys in the slot like that? Someone could just steal it. It is a really nice car though. I think I might take it for a little spin around the block.. Finders keepers, losers weepers!

Uh-oh, there’s a new addition to the family. Now, you have a lot of responsibility on your hands. This is very important to you. Arthur Morgan's Depression

(Warning: Spoilers for RDR2 and mental health issues)

Arthur Morgan is depressed. Yes, I know the writers haven't exactly come out and said that he is depressed, but it does not take a genius to see that Arthur Morgan is a man who deals with many demons and monsters. Arthur Morgan has some sort of functional depression, and it is shown in many ways. In many missions, he seems downtrodden and sad, but he goes along with it anyway because what else can you do? He talks about himself in such a degrading manner in the mirror, and not just in a way that we all do sometimes, but in a way that invokes actual hatred of himself.

He thinks he's ugly when he's a conventionally attractive man. He thinks he's dumb when he's very witty and smart. He gets knocked down for his intelligence a lot by both Dutch and Hosea (we, as a fandom, need to stop pretending that Hosea is perfect because he really isn't). I know that dudes generally joke like that a lot, but those two aren't his “friends”; they are quite literally his father figures. It's different. His journal is filled with self-doubt, pain, and a general apathetic outlook on life.

But as I was playing “A Quiet Time,” one interaction between Lenny and Arthur stood out to me.

“Why ain't you never married?”

“'Cause no one will have me.”

In the context of this mission, I think this was written as an “oh damn” kinda joke, something out of left field to make the player laugh. But after thinking about it more, I realized something.

If you guys follow my posts, then you probably know that I love to interpret things from a sociocultural perspective—so let's do that.

Now, this is an obvious reference to Mary and how she rejected him in the end for Barry Linton to keep her family satisfied. It might also allude to Eliza or other female love interests that Arthur might've had at some point.

But it may also be a nod to the culture of 19th century America and what it entailed for men.

Arthur isn't married at 36 years old. Men were expected to be married generally by their twenties. He has no children or legacy—the only one he did have died years ago. He doesn't have property or a home—he's always on the move with the gang (given how defensive he got with that woman he picks up to go to Lagras, it's probably a point of insecurity). He has no respectable profession—he should've had an honest career by now.

He hopes that Dutch will get his shit together and have them put their outlaw ways behind them, but Dutch literally cannot, and Arthur is the one feeling the burn for it. He has missed so many milestones that he “should've” reached by this point, yet he is still doing the same thing he was doing since he was a young teen.

He can't bring himself to leave Dutch either, as he feels like he has a debt to pay to the man (“I gotta try! I owe him that, at least.”) that can never be paid.

And that has to fucking hurt. You already hate yourself on the outside by thinking you're hideous. You hate yourself on the inside because you think you're dumb. You feel unaccomplished, like a damn loser. And on top of all of that? You can't bring yourself to let go of all the factors that make you feel that way because “they're family” and “they need you.”

You're trapped, and everything feels awful. I'd be depressed too.

It might also be another reason why Arthur is jealous and angry at John. He has a wife, he has a child, he doesn't feel particularly obligated to the gang (hence leaving for a year), he has a chance to do better, and he just doesn't care. Hello, I was wondering if you believe non-Christians can be saved? I know many Catholics believe everyone that doesn't accept Jesus will go to hell. Personally, I find this outlook very sad and I was curious on other points of view so please anyone respond with their own opinions. I mean to ask you this: If God is love and is forgiving of our sins, why would he send everyone to hell simply because they could not find their way to him?

hi!! YES absolutely everyone is saved!! now, everyone and their brother has a conflicting opinion on this, but i’ll throw in my two cents.

my first, more concrete point: john 3:16. the everyman’s verse!!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

okay, but what if someone doesn’t believeth? vatican ii’s lumen gentium, no. 16, also covers this. (italics added by me)

Those also can attain to everlasting salvation who through no fault of their own do not know the gospel of Christ or his Church, yet sincerely seek God and, moved by grace, strive by their deeds to do his will as it is known to them through the dictates of conscience. Nor does divine Providence deny the help necessary for salvation to those who, without blame on their part, have not yet arrived at an explicit knowledge of God, but who strive to live a good life, thanks to his grace.

however, it’s important to note LG no. 14. bear with me here.

i’m not a theologian, i’m just joe off the street—so i may be taking things out of context. forgive me!

however—as much as i am catholic, i believe that this is putting WAY too much importance on the catholic church as we know it today. it is far, far different than the original organization founded upon the rock of st. peter, and i believe that there are many things that god takes issue with in the catholic church (notoriously, jesus criticized large institutions like these). therefore, i don’t know how much i believe that the catholic church today, nor as a whole, was made necessary by god through christ.

my second point: my most fervent belief is that god is love. pretty much all of my friends are atheists, and they are kind and caring and loving people. it is, therefore, impossible for me to believe that they are not saved.

my second-and-a-half point: i take a little bit of issue with your phrasing of “send” to hell.

personally, i believe that hell is not necessarily Dante’s inferno, but a place of complete and total separation from god. i also believe that hell is not a place you are sent to, but rather a place you send yourself.

i mentioned purgatory in my earlier answer to a different anon; this is where that comes in. i generally concur with pope francis when he says that he likes to think of hell as empty (note: he was not issuing doctrine here). i believe that in purgatory, 99.999% (you get it) of people, if not 100%, are able to reconcile with god and see the consequences of their decisions, good and bad, throughout their life.

you know when you tell someone something that is true, but they keep on rejecting it, no matter what evidence you show them? that’s what i imagine is happening to the other .001%.

god is endlessly patient; he doesn’t mind spending eons trying to convince others to have empathy for their fellow man. however, humans are not as patient. they get fed up and walk away—and this is my (limited) understanding of the process of going to hell.

i’ll be honest, i don’t know if hell is permanent, temporary, etc. i’m not sure how helpful it is to debate it, either. but what i do know is very helpfully summarized in this post by the lovely hymnsofheresy.

whenever i have doubts about some aspect of what i believe being incorrect, i remind myself that god is love. he loves us more than anything in the world, and nothing we can do will ever change that. he doesn’t look for reasons for you to go to hell; he wants to be with us all the time.

How did Oda leave such a strong impression on Dazai?

OOHH ok i have a lot of thoughts on this topic so bear with me, this is gonna be a long one My interpretation is the first thing Dazai latched onto about Oda was his honesty.

Oda is a very straightforward person, he rarely ever if at all has an ulterior motive and it totally blindsides Dazai. He can't manipulate Oda because he'll take what he says too literally, he can't predict him - not because Oda is good at hiding his thoughts, he just naturally has the most unreadable resting poker face imaginable - and no matter what he does nothing seems to phase Oda (keyword "seems", it often does he just doesn't show it) , and it intrigues Dazai.

As seen with Chuuya we know Dazai gets hooked on people who surprise and/or impress him, so I can absolutely understand how he saw the enigma that is Oda and said "you're my friend now we're having soft tacos later <3".

I could go on for hours about the various times Oda has bamboozled Dazai and how each effected him profoundly in so many different ways, but that's a discussion for another time. I don't think just these factors would realistically warrant Dazai's drastic change in world outlook and spur on his sudden redemption arc, so what did?

I believe it was his complete lack of judgement. Despite Dazai's constant suicide attempts and harsh view of the world not once did Oda outwardly judge him for it, which is in some ways a blessing and in some ways a curse. Oda never viewed himself as qualified enough to call Dazai out, which in hindsight might've done harm as there were times were Dazai needed someone to call him out, but unbeknownst to Oda that lack of judgement gave Dazai room to breathe.

He saw right past the silly facade and the darker side to Dazai, he saw a "sobbing child abandoned in the darkness of a world far emptier than the one we're seeing", and he saw a friend.

And this is exactly why Oda's last words hit Dazai so hard. Odasaku, who never speaks up for himself, Odasaku, who's so genuine he'd believe a murderer if they simply said "I didn't do it", Odasaku, who is now telling Dazai life might just be little better if he decides to help rather than hurt.

Bleeding out on the floor of a mansion, in a desperate attempt to make up for all the times he didn't confront Dazai Oda has to find some way to get through to him and fast. His harsh words to Dazai on how he'll never find that happiness he so desperately craves are so jarring they snap him out of his panic, suddenly he's blindsided all over again, and that vulnerable state gives Oda's next words the chance to reach deeper - "be on the side that saves people."

In order to truly get through to him, Oda needed to level with Dazai, the only way to do that in such little time was to repeat back to him his own internal mantra of "never filling that hole that is his loneliness". It's clear his words are false, especially the line "nothing beyond your own expectations will happen" as Dazai's entire speech to Fyodor in the prison is about his belief in the unpredictable nature of human beings.

But regardless, that slap in the face of hearing his own self-destructive thoughts voiced aloud after going his entire life without ever considering anybody else could understand them heightened Dazai's faith in Oda's promise of a life that's "a bit more wonderful."

What makes me adore Oda and Dazai's friendship so much is how grounded and natural it feels. Oda isn't some perfect saviour who always knows exactly what to say, far from it, he was a 23 year old PM grunt with 5 kids and a love for spicy curry, but that's all he needed to be.

Sorry this is so ramble-y and long winded if you couldn't tell already Oda's my favourite character so I have a lot to say about him 😭 Thank you so much for the ask!!!

Travel is good, tourism isn't

I said in the blog yesterday, that I think travel is good, but tourism isn't. So, let me explain this. And I will put this here first: I am going to explain it on the example of Japan, because I know the most about what is happening there in terms of travel and tourism - and what issues arise from it.

See, I do think travelling to foreign places (whatever that means for you) is a good thing. Experiencing other cultures and interacting people who due to their culture have a very different outlook on life and the world is a good thing. Not only to move away from a certain worldview (which for white people tends to be an eurocentric one, and for Americans an US-centric one), it also fosters empathy to other people.

And I think of this dramatic thing especially when it comes to Americans travelling, who due to their lacking education system often do know jack shit about the rest of the world.

However: I do both think that the thing we right now call tourism does not really help, but actually does hinder this - and is harmful in many other ways.

Right now, foreign tourists are no longer allowed in Gion, the Geisha quarter of Kyoto. The reason for it is, that too many of them were fucking disrespectful. Some made photos of the Geisha without asking, some even touched the kimono and the hair of the Geisha. Some even got angry and started arguing, when people told them to not do this.

Especially when it comes to Kyoto I can think of a variet of other examples. People have carved their names into temples. People touched things that are not supposed to be touched (like idols). People otherwise behaved inappropriately, for example towards kannushi and mikos. Folks have bathed their feet in pools meant for ritual cleansing. There are a lot of examples of this.

And I think part of this goes back to two things. For one again eurocentrism and the way, that a lot of especially white folks to not perceive other cultures as real. But also, and maybe more importantly, the mindset that: "I have paid $1500 for this trip and I get to very well do what I want." The different culture in this mindset gets treated like a themepark, not as a place filled with real people, rather than performers there to enhance the tourist's experience.

Meanwhile the tourists generally are not really interested to interact with the other culture further than that. Which is also, why they tend to flock to the same few places, to all go make their own photo of the same place that a million people have photographed before - as compared to going exploring in a foreign place.

And in some cases - like Kyoto - this also leads to the fact that the local people often get pushed out of the places they actually live in.

A lot of people will often say: "Yeah, but it is great for their economy." Which... leaving my capitalism-hating-ideation aside for a moment... Well, actually it is not good and COVID showed us. Because it makes the economy totally depedent on tourism. In places that are heavily dependent on tourism, the sudden complete anihilation of tourism with the pandemic pushed those places further into a crisis than anywhere else. Heck, keeping it with Kyoto: Given a lot of folks had jobs related to the tourism industry and there were in fact not many other jobs, a lot of people found themselves forced to move away from Kyoto during the pandemic.

So while the entire "but economy" thing will seem true on a short term, it actually is not on the long term.

And that is without going into the environmental impact that comes from a lot of people flocking to certain places. This is shown especially in areas, where folks go for "nature", destroying nature while they do so. Because nature just cannot handle thousands upon thousands of people travelling through.

So, what do I mean with "travel, instead of tourism"? Well, frankly: Yes, you still go to other places. But - to keep with Japan - instead of going to Kyoto you might go to Morigushi or Beppo, and instead of touring from one temple and shrine to the next, you will just interact with the places and explore them. To actually experience them, rather than some preconscieved notion of what it is supposed to be. And you interact with the people.

And you learn. Because we all just need to learn about different people, different cultures and different places. Rather than just consuming them.

I don't really know about their personality, but that luxurious vibe and their fashionable attire. He likes someone who would be able to support him in his career, provide him with advice and also provide him with or seek new opportunities for his work. He also seems to prefer someone who is a deep thinker and very spiritual mature. This is someone who is very grounded and would be able to provide him a lot of mental stability when he feels a bit stressed out or burn out from work. It also makes me think that he might prefer someone who is older than him or someone more mature than him whom he can look up to. 𝐇𝐞𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐮𝐧𝐠 KnoS, 8oS, 9oW, 3oP Rx He likes someone smart and witty. Someone who is very ambitious and ready to chase after their goals and dreams. Someone who is quiet and introverted, the type of person who usually minds their own business. Someone who doesn't go out to parties, a homebody who likes to spend their time doing things by themself (doesn't mean he wants someone who has no social life either, just to be clear). There is a lot of emphasis on his ideal type being someone who is very dedicated and ambitious. He likes someone who overcomes their negative moments by reflecting, knowing how to spend time by themself, and figuring out how they're going to make their vision become a reality to achieve success. He doesn't like someone who will immediately back away from a challenge. He wants someone who isn't scared of fighting for what they want and being extremely resilient. It feels like he doesn't really want someone who is too known or a celebrity? And I also get the impression that he wants someone who is around his age. I sense him falling in love with someone who just really seems to have a positive outlook on life and is kind of like this kind, free-spirited person who is excited for what life has to offer? This is the type of person who accepts that life won't always be amazing for them, but rather than letting that fact discourage them, they'll focus on the positives of life and how many more happy moments will come to them in the future (different from escapism). "Eyes are so full of life," is such a huge emphasis here. Pretty, cute, sparkly eyes seem to be a huge attractive point for him. I think those types of eyes that are full of life seem to make him feel shy when they are looking at him. He likes confidence, too! He also likes someone who is also logical. He likes someone who is capable of making good/smart decisions for themselves. Someone mature with a level head that he can learn from! As I was reading, his ideal type strongly reminded me of the FL from Lovely Runner!

The truth is I see him being the type who puts that kind of front to others but honestly deeply desires lots of support. I think he might tend to worry about things a lot or he might just be the type of person who wants to have that romantic feeling/clarity of having someone with him even if the whole world might be against him. He likes someone who is a great source of energy for him and helps him see the good side of what he's experiencing. He really wants someone who is emotionally supportive, nurturing, and kind. He wants someone whom he can really deeply connect with, someone who is able to handle lots and lots of depth within a relationship and really be committed to him. Someone who is able to overcome challenges and continue working hard until the very end when their goals are met. I think he really respects people like that and strives to be like them. He likes people who have shaped their own beliefs, ideals, and perceptions of the world and aren't afraid to express that with others. He likes someone who isn't afraid to go against the status quo or the norm because he feels like that he isn't really good at doing that. Someone who won't back down just because others are backing down and telling this person to do so. Someone who is a bit of a planner and has some control over their life and what they aspire to do. I think the bottom line message Sunoo is trying to share is someone who is secure and mature and can set an example for others. The bottom of the deck was The Lovers, so I also would like to add that he values honesty and genuity. He wants to be on the same page as his lover and be able to communicate with them freely about how he is feeling. This would mean he likes someone who is kind, open-minded, and loving. Someone who takes time to appreciate him for who he is and isn't shy to express themself. Words of affirmation. 𝐍𝐢-𝐤𝐢 AoS, Strength, 9oW, 2oC The cool thing is that I think Ni-ki's ideal type is kinda similar to Jake's ideal type in some ways! Ni-ki likes someone who is a thinker. He finds that kind of depth of thought very special it seems. He likes someone who is logical and goal-oriented, also someone a bit creative who is able to come up with many different ideas for what they want to do and moving forward on them. Ni-ki really wants someone who can be a great supporter of his. I think he really values quality time, acts of service, and words of affirmation. There are lots of different experiences he had in the past might've made him feel like he was alone, and I think having someone who is patient with him to show him lots of the love and support he had always wanted will help him feel much more secure and confident about himself. He also really appreciates and respects someone who doesn't give up no matter what setbacks they face, and I think this kind of perspective comes from his own experiences. He knows how hard it can be to go for something despite facing so many challenges. I also think he likes the idea of having a soulmate or having a partner-in-crime, someone who is there for him no matter what and is able to communicate with him in very deep ways. I think he would really like it when, say, he was having a horrible day and he was really feeling like he wanted to eat/drink something or wanted to head somewhere, and his partner at the time unexpectedly shows up with his favorite food/drink and shares encouraging words with him or takes him somewhere. That caring and intuitive nature might be something he really likes about people. If there is someone around him who is like that, I think they'll unexpectedly catch his attention.

Ok I have seen nobody make this comparison yet but this is believe it or not bc I saw many parallels in their characters and not just bc they look alike. He reminds me of falin in a pretty sad way, especially when it comes to falins loneliness, yet strong will.

Right down to the oddness and relationship with marcille (who can be like lily in this instance) it's a fascinating way to see how character archetypes tend to travel across media, it's also a really fun outlook in how you watch one character and realize the other is just like them, hence giving you more insight.

When marcille cries, going on about why she didn't know why falin chose her, it's likely lilies own perception of being friends with pure vanilla was her not quite grasping why pure vanilla was so insistent on being there and by her side. And that perhaps he was not always great on paper, even though he was close behind lily, but actively shows more unconventional ways of magic talent, and a strange ability to tap into something far more powerful than her via a different outlook on life. He has an underlying loneliness, yes, and it seems that in order to attach to lily so well that he must have been pretty odd to others too- or else he probably really wouldn't have pursued the friendship. Especially since his implied blindness isn't very common and heterochromia is unnatural for cookies with only two in the franchise being truly confirmed, mixing that in with the overly friendly attitude and enthusiasm has a pretty solid chance that much like falin, he too was excluded and teased.

Lily would also unfortunately be the type to resurrect him and accidentally bond him to a soul that had a spell command on it- just bc of her current track record of messing with things she isn't fully aware of or completely understands (and therefore ends terrible for all parties involved) driven by the misguided methods to help the people she cares for

What why??

Theres a few reasons! I do want to clarify that I do like Saint and their campaign in a bubble, and still like downpour as a whole, they're just the most 'off' in terms of overall.

This is going to be very messy, and I haven't fully yet made up my mind on a lot of things

For starters Saint themselves... Downpour is for-sure less grounded in naturalistic biology than RW vanilla- and thats fine. The base game slugcats are all relatively mundane for a reason, but that also means their overall variety is limited- so downpour mixes that up with a bit of a fantastical slant and then tries its best to re-ground it various ways (Spearmaster is genetically modified, Gourmand is just very smart and very big, Artificer is implied to have been mutated by a toxic environment, rivulet is just fast and evolved for increased flooding). The issue with Saint here is that they are, by far, the most ungrounded in any sort of reality and a bit more 'magical'- but that aspect isn't really explained past maybe a short nod in the general direction of something. This isn't exactly a flaw in itself, but it does mean we have something immensely powerful in a way that's very... contradicting to the general vibe of the world. Especially as a little animal. Something like that can work, but its hard to make work, especially in a world set up like RW is. And then the campaign itself... for starters, I think its one that naturally going to be very polarizing depending on the way you read various things about RW- the characters in it, the things it touches on, and your own personal outlook on life. I'm a nerd for evolution and 'life finds a way' type stuff, and for me Saint goes a little too far in direction I don't really vibe with. Its really hard to explain here, but I'll try. For probably the most minor thing, the environment. There's a sort of undercurrent that the frozen over tundra of world as is a 'dying' environment. The undergrowth echo does add a counter to this mindset (By pointing out there is still life and beautiful blooming in a increasingly barren world) so its not the biggest thing, but its a outlook a lot of people tend to hold to begin with, so the ways it reinforces this is a little... sour? I suppose. Deserts and tundras and areas of low life are not dead or dying environments- they are their own ecosystems. They exist and are needed. Many things can not survive them. Many things can. Worlds and ecosystems are naturally always shifting and changing, and ecosystems like deserts and arctics stand equal to rainforests and coral reefs. We see some creatures have failed to adapt and died off, but so many others have begun to carve out their niches and are changing with the world- I think a tundra is a great metaphorical 'the world is shifting away from its old self' type thing. Everything being broken down and changed once more and a lot of things aren't surviving, some are, but changed. Metaphorically that is great. But Saint is there as a big, literal kill switch on the world (Small aside that yes, kill is an inaccurate descriptor. Ascension is by nature 'something else' than dying.) Its just a little... wrong, that the implied shift in what the world is- the last stains of the Ancient's being washed away into something new and independent, is being done with the literal removal of those remains rather than the natural clockwork of the world. Even without Saint there things would die and shift, iterators would crumple into nothing, buildings would break and become dust and rust- and from all that things would still claw their way to the next day. Their offspring and offspring's offspring would grow ever more different from them, until they hardly match. Something new would be borne from the dusts of an old one forgotten. Tundras would freeze over into something else, a change in the atmosphere would trigger a shift, and ice would melt into water once more. Thats another great big thing everything is a small part of. (For some reason if this space isn't here this whole post breaks?)

Its sad, but theres a beauty in the way things lead into each other- erased in anyway meaningful way but their ghosts still etched imprinted into the shell of the new. Both insignificant and yet strangely important. I don't think Saint is implied to 'succeed' at all, of course. I think its very much hinted at that they'll be at whatever mission they have forever. But is also feels implied that this mission is supposed to be the intended end of the Ancients' 'era', pieces bit by bit ascended, finally removed from this cycle they can't perceive themselves as even a part of- and that even with this there will still be something new that takes their place. Their whole goal is ascension, so it makes sense ultimately. But it just feels... something is off about it, and maybe thats entirely on me. There's something I just don't like about it. A long time ago I was asked about Saint and the void worms (you can read that here, although note this was pretty early into DP's release) and I do think at least part of that is the idea that Saint pulls control from things. The worms, buried deep in the void sea, the last step to ascension... Crossing yourself out feels like a weighty choice, but one you have to seek. So a sort of mobile ascension that does it for you, these lizards and bugs that couldn't possibly comprehend what ascension is, creatures that mostly just know survival and all its ills... it feels like it skips all that weight behind that choice. The underground Ancient, stuck midway, says it was never something they really wanted anyway, seemly contended to be in the in-between. An outlier for sure, but an outlier none the less- one that makes it clear that things can comprehend the weight of ascension and what it offers and understand the world and its ills and still want to be a part of it. What does that mean of Saint, a system that brings that to you, without say? Sure most of the creatures they ascend are simple things, the others are iterators- Beings designed to seek that solution and even want it for themselves but to barred from being able to achieve it. These are all things that it should feel good to grant the blessings of ascension too, that final peace that is neither living nor dying, but I just think about that echo and the way it makes it clear that many, if given the choice, would not want to be crossed out. I like it in a bubble, removed from those things, but I don't know how I feel about it in the greater scheme of things, as a sort of end to rain world. If there is one thing I do like a lot though, its the finale- with the worm. It gives Saint's place in the world a distinct sense of wrongness, something capped at the void worms. The void worms are just... still at the center. Something ancient and unbreakable. A rule of existence Saint doesn't- can't, bypass.

(My Insanity) Her tendency to conserve, paired by her predisposition to methodical routines makes it difficult for her to move on from Kumar. And she struggles to properly open up about it or confront it. Kumar left her mark in her way of doing things. The constant nature of her approaches in work/life makes the echoes of Kumar also constant. She would love to break free from the cycle of remembering Kumar by doing things differently, or taking a long deserved break from work... But at the same time, she feels like throwing herself off this 'orbit' is unreasonable, unproductive, and unbecoming of her. So it Rots.

Warnings: some angst and mentions of mental health struggles

You and Rhys have known each other since you were kids. Your parents worked for Rhys’ father so for a long time you only had each other as friends

He didn’t notice your ADHD until you were older and neither did you. It was a journey you went on together and he was always supportive of your feelings

You had always been energetic as a child, jumping around from activity to activity. You were a dreamer just like him and had the best imagination

Rhys fell in love with you because you were always kind and up for an adventure

As you got older you were more reserved but still had an optimistic outlook on life. Your parents had try to quell your adventurous nature but you were too stubborn to give into their wants

You daydream a lot which your father always said was a problem, he said you were never present and you would never be any help to the future high lord or the court

Which was far from the truth. Rhys always thought your way of thinking was an advantage and would help change the court, even Prythian one day

Your ADHD was not always on the outside, you usually kept to yourself

Some days you would forget your mental shields and Rhys could hear your thoughts. He didn’t mean to intrude but he couldn’t help but hear you

He could hear your bad thoughts about how you thought less of yourself because of your ADHD and it made him upset

He would always send you images of you and him happy, and what he saw when he looked at you, “I want you to see you how I do.” “Yes, you think differently but that doesn’t mean your less than anyone else. If anything you have an advantage.” “Your view on the world is so wonderful my darling.”

Some days your shields were stronger and it was harder to get your attention. Those are the days he would hold you and give you those little comforting touches

One of your biggest problems was insomnia. You had a hard time falling asleep because of racing thoughts

You’d over think things that you said that day, if you forgot something, or about a project you had started for Rhys that needed a lot of attention

Sometimes you’d by accidentally wake Rhys up because your thoughts were so loud. He’d pull you to his chest and show you peaceful thoughts. Like the pond you two would swim in as kids or your favorite picnic date he took you on when summer started

You were thankful for Rhys’ daemti powers because it was easier to communicate mind to mind instead of out loud for you. You could let Rhys into your mind to see what you couldn’t say

But there were days that you were very talkative and Rhys would just sit there, staring at you amazed by the way your mind worked

He loved listening to you talk about random things or new ideas that you had

You always had a hard time relaxing and we’re easily irritated, you just had so many thoughts! Did you remember to give Cassian that report? Did you give Mor that dress back? Was Rhys mad at you? Were you thoughts and feelings too much for him? He had so much to deal with and adding your insecurities on top of it was a lot. But you were never too much for Rhys he always told you so

If you got frustrated with something you couldn’t figure out or if something was irritating you Rhys would take you away from your stressor. He’d take you on a walk or to just sit in the darkness of your bedroom for a while

Rhys is a self care king, he’s all for pampering yourself and a treat yourself day

When he notices your too tightly wound to help you relax he’d book a weekend at the best spa in Velaris. He knows you’d never ask for any of this because you’d feel guilty, but he just wanted the best for you

You guys would have a couples massage, couples facials, and you’d get mani pedis together (you can’t look me in the eyes and tell me Rhys would never get his nails done bc you’d be a liar)

His love language is gift giving and he’d give you any and everything to help you feel comfortable and relaxed

Or if you just needed a day of retail therapy he was happy to accompany you and pay

If he saw it made you happy he’d buy it for you

Kazuki Eating His Words: Buddy Daddies - Episode 7 - SPOILERS!

Buddy Daddies overall series pacing has been so good! Like, the logical progressions are really well handled and build off growth, development, and knowledge gained in previous episodes. I hope they keep that up! 

I think a really important part of this week’s episode was specifically the overwhelming aspect of caring for a child that we see Kazuki experience:

He stands in front of the washing machine stating: “Do the laundry, wash the dishes, make dinner, get her a bath...” And then he starts repeating the schedule all over again.

You know who he sounds like here?

Misaki - Miri’s mother, who lamented to him, “Feeding her and dressing her every single day...”

What he told her in response to that back then:

“Isn’t struggling and sacrificing parts of your life for your kid supposed to be part of the joy of parenthood?” 

Ouch. I’m sure post Ep, 7 Kazuki wouldn’t take kindly to these words either and would probably be siding and empathizing a lot more with Misaki now. And the thing is, Kazuki has the money to afford daycare, so Miri can spend time there. He has Rei, who is definitely still learning too, but at least is some help over having no one to turn too. He even has Kyutaro to help look after Miri if things get desperate.

Misaki likely did not have the money for daycare or any other outside help. Given her abusive relationship, she didn’t have a partner to help at all and likely doesn’t have any family to help out either. Combine that with her having to care for Miri as a newborn/baby/infant, which requires so much energy and attention - her being so done and burned out here is so understandable.

We know from Rei’s VA that Miri’s mother is an important character. So I have no doubt we are going to see her again, especially because this week’s episode had Kazuki remembering what she said in response to his remarks:

“It’s always the ones with the loftiest ideals who bring the greatest misfortune to their families.” 

That response makes me think that maybe she is speaking from experience here as well. Perhaps when she initially had Miri, she had an outlook very similar to Kazuki’s as well. And then that just eroded away over the years due to so many different things: mental health, abuse, overwork, burn out, postpartum depression, and etc. 

I really hope that Buddy Daddies has them meet up again, because I know that the conversation would go a little bit differently than before. I pretty sure that they will though. The setup for it is all right there and nicely laid out.
