NRK is really good at introducing problematic topics, as well as everyday issues into their shows. That does make me ""worry"" that either Mathias is 'simply' going through a confusing teenager period and dealing with emotions that may not lead to Mathias/ Erik endgame, or that Mathias do have strong feelings for Erik but Erik does not. And that, in NRK teaching spirit, shows that Mathias and Erik can remain friends despite one having had feelings for the other. Like showing teenagers today that it doesn't have to end a friendship. Neither is bad, just.... I want Mathias and Erik to be together

I understand your fear and a part of me shares in that worry as well. BUT for whatever reason I don't think they will have them be just friends. Obviously I want them together too, and granted there is a lot of wishful thinking that they will happen on my part, but to be honest if the plan was to just have them remain friends then whoever set up that kiss scene did a terrible job. If they never intended to make them a couple, they could have set that scene up in a way that wouldn't have viewers rooting for them to get together as hard as we do. The way it was shot leads me to beleive this was always the plan and that they will have them pursue a relationship.
