this is Pixel!!! and she is traumatized

Stuff about Pixel:

Pixel is an ageless adult

Cisgender female, straight, aromantic and demisexual

She somehow has never been fully corrupted

Pixel can be very self centered at times

Pixel previously knew Bitmap (as seen above) and helped comfort them / help them do things they weren’t able to do due to the pain

She is REALLY fast. like really, REALLY fast

When Pixel was in high school before the corruption, she did flag dancing / colorguard for a while and still somewhat does it today. She’s sorta good at it, though a little rusty due to a lack of practice, but she’s got some muscle memory from when she was younger!!

Stuff about the photo:

Pixel previously knew Bitmap (another one of my ocs) when she was younger, and the two got along really well! They ended up apart since the drawing’s date, though.

The date of this photo marks a tragic incident for Pixel; the day that both of her parents were corrupted, as well as her mother being “exterminated,” aka killed.

She’s almost been corrupted about 12 times, each time being worse than the last. This was the second time she was ever in contact with the corruption.

The drawing actually takes place when she was younger / a minor.

The person pulling her away was another adult that she didn’t know at the time (and still doesn’t know).

I actually owe a lo to @tehsquishyray. His lineless art style helped me find my own. How fitting that my following his art process more closely coincided with a fan-character of hi setting.

@tehsquishyray has a world based on the ‘Smoosh Wolves’, where cartoon physics rule the day. They are called such because they can be subjected to squash and stretch... ‘smooshing’, in other words.

What you can see here, though, is clearly a Smoosh Mole... based on th European Mole and the Hottentot Golden Mole (which is not a true mole, actually). Th is actually a reference to bo the whack-a-mole game and how tehsquishyray considered being a Smoosh Mole himself.

The idea I had while making him is that whoever invented the Smoosh Wolves was making a 'new and improved sequel': the Smoosh Mole. However, the inventor instea decided upon instead improving the Smoosh Wolves. Only one Smoosh Mole was made. (This was before tehsquishyray solidified the origins of the Smoosh Wolves. I have ye to update his backstory accordingly.)

The Smoosh Mole, Kamal, is envious of the Smoosh Wolves. After all, he wa supposed to be perfection (or so he says)! I magine him to be a cartoony villain who is in a part of a rivalry agains the Smoosh Wolves... thoug he frequently just gets mooshed, himself. (Think of the Tom and Jerry rivalry.) His main smooshing item is a mallet, though he also frequently just uses his body because that is my favourite form of smooshing.

By the by: he does hav eyes... little dot eyes that European moles have. They are just normally hidden in shadow.

Normally, I sketch using Colors! 3DS then do the rest using Inkscape. However: I have been lately getting frustrated by how difficult was getting the Bezier curves working, especially with my use of negative outlines. That difficulty actually had me feel off-put actually drawing. I decided to just do the whole thing in Colors! 3DS, which i something that I had not done in a decade. I am grateful of all of the work I did with Inkscape, though; even with my rudimentary use and understanding of the tools in Colors! 3DS, I still found a lot more artistic growth since the last time I used only tha tool when drawing. However, I still feel that I have a long way before I am fine wi the process; in addition to the aforementioned shadow, he i supposed to have very shiny eyebrows and fur, bu that does not seem obvious here. Never the less, I feel a lot more comfortable drawing using only this tool.

 I am going to need such comfort...

“...I really do love you, Alverio.” “I love you too, Calypso.”

A few minutes prior...

“Tonight was really nice… Especially after everything that happened, Veri.” I spoke up, my voice very quiet against the soft breeze drifting through Vesuvia.

“Yeah. I think we all needed a night to ourselves after everything that happened. Not to mention everything that followed.” My date, Alverio, said quietly, “It's just a shame Nadia couldn’t accompany us.”

I nod in agreement, my face still flushing at the memory of how her smirk curled onto her face when I asked if she wanted to accompany us tonight.

“She did say that she had a meeting to attend to today,” I replied sheepishly, a hand tucking back into the dress pants I had worn for that evening, “I’m not going to lie though, I think she just wanted us to spend time together.”

Alverio gave a small snicker, but shrugged a bit.

“Frankly, I wouldn't put it past her. Ever since we had gotten back from the Arcana realms, we haven't had much time to spend together.” He replied, slowly taking a deep breath of the nighttime air. We were just starting to walk back to the castle, after some spending some time in the Market that afternoon. Light was beginning to dim, the bright blue of day slowly fading to a steely darker shade.

“Say, Veri?” I look to him, no doubt the white freckles on my face lightly sparking and glowing with my inner magic, as they tended to do when I felt a bit shy- “What was your favorite thing from the Market today?”

“You mean besides the bread we always get?” Alverio commented, a joking smirk tossed my way making me giggle a bit and shake my head.

“Yes, besides that!” I reply with a joking tartness to my tone, which wittingly earned me an intent jair ruffle.

“Well, some of the scarves were really cool. I saw something maybe Nadi would like, but eheh… I didn't bring enough with me to buy it.” Alverio said, and I giggled with an understanding nod.

“That's fair. I'm sure we could've charged it to the castle and Nadia wouldn't mind, but Ehhh. It can still be hard on the conscience all the same.” I mumbled sheepishly, before I felt myself get stopped- just gently enough by a hand on my other shoulder.

“Hm…?” I turned my head to face Alverio, who did smile sheepishly and blush.

“I did find something that… you might like though.” He said, making me raise an eyebrow a bit, before he placed something into the palm of my other hand.

“Huh?....”

Inside the palm of my hand, was a small light purple ribbon, with little flower embroidery meticulously stitched into its fabric. My eyes widened a bit, before Alverio put a hand over it, focusing for a few moments. The gentle but comforting feel of Alverio’s magical aura- which by now was very familiar. Out of habit, I felt the gentle tug of my own magic draw a bit forward- not enough to conjure anything, but enough to make the freckles on my face further brighten to life. After a few moments, a few vines recoiled around the fabric- with a small flower beginning to bloom at its center. I watched, in love stricken awe, as the flower slowly bloomed in a sweet white rose.

I felt my face flush, a sense of warmth and admiration just washing over me.

“Veri…” I found myself wanting to speak… but I had no clue what I'd even say. Alverio chuckled sweetly, looking away nervously and averting my gaze.

“I remembered you mentioned that you lost your choker while you were with Asra… So I thought I’d get you a new one. I just realized it was missing something though.” He explained, “I...I figured I’d add my own touch to it. It'll suit you perfectly-”

He didn't get much chance to speak thereafter, when I pulled him into a tight hug.

“You really didn't have to, you know…” I mutter quietly, my breath just ghosting above his ear, “But gods… I know I've said this only briefly in passing before, but… I really do love you Alverio.”

“Callie…” I could almost feel the way his face warmed, “I…”

But again, I didn't give him much of a chance to reply to my words, pulling back just slightly before nervously- but more certainly- pressing my lips to his. All before, I had ghosted around the subject, all up until I had asked him out. Because I wasn't sure how exactly to deal with all my feelings- between him, Nadia, and Asra. I loved them all, just as equally, and all my relationships had been pretty open. No one really minded. But the past few weeks in particular, I've realized that I don't want just an open relationship… But mayhaps, what my friends would've called a polyamorous relationship.

All I knew was, I wanted him apart of it. I didn't ever think I'd think like that when I first met him, but our magic was almost perfectly in sync with each other ever since I first met Rinina’s cousin.

So, I didn't immediately chicken away. Not like I did before. And especially not when I felt the affection returned. Internally, I sighed with relief- although internally, gently tugging him closer to me with a hand into the red wavy locks of his hair. I never even realized up until now, just how similar the feelings were towards him- that I felt when I was around Nadia, and even later Asra.

By the time I pulled away, I found myself absolutely breathless, my face intently warmed to the tips of my ears. Now that I was this close… I felt it, the adoration, the warmth, the love… for him. For him, just as strongly as I did for my other partners.

But hearing the words from his mouth, just further solidified my feelings when he laughs softly.

“I love you too, Calypso.”

What can I say? I’m a sucker for dating stories. I’m also a HUGE sucker for these two dorks. So I decided to do some art of these two being cute, and actually fully saying the words! Because I’m a sap.

...Writing this took two hours, I’d like to add, purely because Distracted.

During my mental break, I’ve been trying to recover from a traumatic experience that occurred last month…I probably won’t be venting about my life anytime soon. But it is really messed up. Anywho, been resting, practicing mindfulness, my period came on, so I’ve been trying to control my temper, etc. 

But here’s an update, I did some more artwork. I’m going to give you that today. I’m going to recommend a few apps, youtube channels, and show off some artists and musicians, in this post. I’ll also mention some servers for you guys to join. In also munching on some organic cinnamon bears by the Wholesome brand. You can’t beat them. 

Apps I use on my phone!

Here’s some apps I use in my everyday life. Some you have to pay a little more for but it’s definitely worth it.

But since a TikTok is getting banned in the US and China, I thought well, might try this out. Despite TikTok’s racism and shadowbanning, I liked making small little clips. No matter how embarrassing it is. So give it a try you never know.

Polarr | https://apps.apple.com/us/app/polarr-photo-editor/id988173374 | Okay. I had to include this app into this list. Y’know? This is my favorite photo editing program. It’s simple, it’s sleek, and it’s so fun to mess around with stuff in your photos. I never knew this great of an app exists a year ago? You can add effects, get rid of some unwanted features, or just do a simple touch up. It’s available on the computer, and tablet and phone.

Telegram | https://apps.apple.com/us/app/telegram-messenger/id686449807 | it’s a messenger app. Yes. I know. But! Hear me out! You can set it up to have this so password protected. It encrypts all of your conversations. You get all kinds of stickers to include in your conversations. Honestly? It’s fun, interactive, and safe from unwanted eyes. 

Notebloc | https://apps.apple.com/us/app/notebloc/id1077023687 | oh my gosh what can you do. It’s a free app. With premium scanning capabilities, at no cost to you. It’s amazing to be honest I believe it’s better than Evernote. Just give it a shot.

Jacksepticeye | premium content. Amazing. Loud voice. Beautiful and happy man. Plays many video games, has a lot of reactions, it’s beautiful honestly. Watch his videos.Neebs Gaming | My favorite series on this channel (and I’m currently listening to) is his Subnautica series. It is absolutely hilarious. It’s great. This guy(s) turned this game and made a video show out of it, it’s so laughable. I love it. 

Adrian Von Ziegler | Beautiful channel, perfect inspiration music. D&D campaign music! And taking Celtic Music back to its roots. Oh my gosh it’s absolutely amazing.

Penny Jacobson | Held by our very own CJOAT social media manager! Show her some support, please she’s trying her best.

Epic Meal Time | These guys are absolutely insane. Don’t know how to cook, but made the best cooking show on YouTube (in my opinion) oh but seriously, if you want diabetes for your eyes? This is perfect for you.
