God I really do hate that Kishimoto made perviness be such a central part to Jiraiya's character, yet made him so cool otherwise. I'm in the middle of ep 128 of shippuden, aka where he's training Nagato & co, and he just. When he sets aside the dumbass act and finally acts like a mature adult, giving advice to his students... like I mean him acting like a dumbass is a whole part of how he works, but he COULDVE been a dumbass without the perv aspect to it 😭😭😭 I really do mourn what he could've been if it weren't for that shit. Bc even now I find myself getting drawn into the story and feeling some measure of fondness for him, but then I remember how he is towards women and it's just entirely soured. And he really was so important to Naruto, giving him a taste of actual Family, and yet..! I can't ever truly mourn him bc he's such a piece of shit!!!! God, I hate it!!!!! Why does Kishimoto write characters like this
