Writing Prompt: "They found his diary..." Wrote this in fifteen minutes.
"Hey, Alex! Come look at this! It's Dad's diary!" Natasha yelled out from her dad's bedroom, calling for her little brother, Alex. Her brother immediately ran into the room in excitement, going as fast as his little legs could take him. "A diary? I didn't think Dad would be the type to have one of those!" Alex said he had taken the book from his older sister, undoing the buckle to open it up. The very first page was written in.. 1987! "1987?! YEESH!!" Alex exclaimed in shock and awe, surprised that his dad would keep a diary for that long, much less at all. "Wait… How is it not full then? If it's from the 80s, this should be completely filled with entries. Yet, at least 30 pages are completely empty!" Natasa wondered aloud as she held the book, ready to read the first page.
3/21/1987 - "Dear Diary, I met him… I finally met the person I want to spend my life with! I always thought that my soulmate would be just like me, but we're completely different!" Natasha began to read the first entry before being stopped by Alex. "Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! HIM?! Dad's gay..? How? He met and married Mom!" Alex voiced his thoughts as he kept rereading that one section. "Well, you can like both… But I don't have the time to. We only have 15 minutes until Dad gets home." With determination, they looked back at the book and continued to read.
"His name is Leo, and he's the most adorable guy I've ever met! He's a HUGE crime geek, and just has the prettiest smile! I feel like a little girl, kicking my feet and writing about some boy in my journal, but I can't help it! He's worth the embarrassment." The siblings looked at each other, imagining how their buff and burly father would look while giggling and kicking his feet. They quickly removed the image from their mind so they could continue to read.
"I love him. I may need to date some woman to save face, but she won't matter. She can mother my children for all I care, but it won't be enough. He's the only one who truly matters. He…" Jingle jingle! "is…" CREAK! "Kids! I'm home!"
