wow hello!! this is such a sweet messagggeee! im so happy you are enjoying it! the fact you feel so immersed is like the best feeling for me! i want you to feel immersed!! and im so happy you like their characterizations so far. Woo is so woo!! i know what you mean lol. I aimed to try to make him more soft and comedic since later on some characters are definitely harsher. And I love Soft San. I love the idea he looks so bulky and intimidating but with her and the boys hes just cuddly and respectful and kind. I cant wait to get into woo and san's backgrounds a bit. i admittedly love woosan soooo i love imagining their dynamics in this world.

and im happy you enjoy the ballet references! admittedly i havent done ballet is a long while so I always have to jog my memory on terms (and im sure professional ballet is different than hobby ballet lol). a lot of this older sexual undertone ballet lore is from what i learned in art school in regards to 1800s ballet and Degas' work. i also love to include opera info from more fictional portrayals of opera/ballet things like Phantom of the Opera and The Great Comet of 1812. I get a lot of inspo listening to those musicals and classic ballet musical themes!

aaa hearing you get chills just makes my day. the boudoir is heavily inspired by degas' work and how ballet dancers were seen as petit rats. i think its really exploitive that ballet was seeing as rich/royal/etc but then the dancers degraded so much. its interesting to write and try to portray with the foyer de la danse being nicknamed the boudoir and being imagined as having all these mirror walls and pretty golden details. like a bird cage or glass box! this was actually the painting that inspired it (again its from degas (who i should stress is like a horrible person and totally was weird abut these young ballerinas; unfortunately, a lot of artists are shitty ppl))!! I've added more to it but when i think of the boudoir i always imagine the tall doors and the ballet barre like this painting!
