I’ve been away for a while so sorry if this has been mentioned but do you have any premiere date spec? Apparently Marie said probably Jan which I would expect but the cw has such a full roster this year and I don’t know how scheduling works so I guess I’m just asking if you think there’s any possibility they’ll have a super late premiere?

Do I have premiere date spec? Boy do I ever, Nonny. LMAO. I am still sold on a late January/Early February release even though The CW has lots of programming (old and new) right now. Here’s my breakdown as to why:

Currently the CW is airing 10 shows, with another 4 shows expected to be added to that list in the winter. Although Dynasty just received the go for their back ordered episodes (bringing their total for Season 1 up to 22 and guaranteeing that they will be airing in the winter), 4 of the shows currently on air (Legends of Tomorrow, Valor, Jane the Virgin and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend) have short seasons.

Legends of Tomorrow (which airs on Tuesday) has an 18 episode run this Season, however I expect they’ll still be on the air until about April, because they typically have one or two 2-3 week hiatuses in a Season, so they can stay current with the longer episode DC shows.

Valor (which airs on Monday) had a 13 episode initial order, like Dynasty, but The CW chose not to pick up it’s backorder episodes. The show is not cancelled yet, but it likely will be.

Jane The Virgin (Friday) has a 17 episode order this Season and, if they don’t have significant breaks, should finish their Season the first week of February.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (Friday) has a 13 episode Season which would mean, with no breaks, it would be over the first week of January.

That means that Friday will be completely open and Monday will have one open spot in the winter Season. iZombie is a MidSeason show, which means it typically premieres in about March/April and that’s about the time that Legends of Tomorrow finishes their Season.

Black Lightning is confirmed as a midseason show. We’ve also been told (about Black Lightning) that right now it is not attached to the already existing DC TV universe, which means they’ll likely be more flexible about where it can go on the schedule.

The new Lucy Hale project (Life Sentence) is also scheduled to be midseason.

So basically 3 shows coming off the air in early 2018 and 3 shows that need places. The evidence stands that we should be safe to air in or around our normal spot.
