john darnielle will say “no you don’t understand guys, this line was SO bad, it’s literally the worst thing ever i couldn’t even release the song because it was so awful and i couldn’t fix it,” and then the line will be “I've got a Kenmore single-room window unit air conditioner.”

#like. POSSIBLY i’m just biased because i listened to Protein Source of the Future… Now! in my car for eight months #but i did not even BLINK at this line #it still sounds incredibly normal to me even after finding out john thinks it’s bad #it’s significantly better than bones don’t rust and he DID release that one… so.#(this post was actually a secret vehicle for bones don’t rust hate ALL along! bWAhahahaha)#but seriously though i love Midland #i need to post it if no one else has #yet ANOTHER song that john has never played live #hypothetically because he doesn’t want to sing The Line #but like. again… if he ever FELT like it #he should give me 2-3 months notice #just saying…#tmg #the mountain goats
