lando shook trump’s hand and later said: “that was an honour. for someone like this to take time out of their life to pay respect for what you've done. he was my lucky charm. don't know if he comes to more races now. it was a cool moment.”

this is the first i’m hearing of this, actually. disappointing but i also don’t really expect these rich, white f1 drivers to be well-versed in american politics (although this is not an excuse for ignorance and let me make that so clear). hopefully he’ll rescind the statement considering all things!

#ask #this might be a controversial opinion but f1 drivers are not who i look to for political guidance or correctness to be honest #and you can scroll down on my page to see that i am not at all approving of trump being there in any way shape or form #just in case anyone was getting the idea that i like that man #however sad nonetheless and hopefully he realizes why trump is not someone we should be praising in any sense #and realistically i’m not shocked something like this happened as mclaren did invite him to their garage #it’s a huge issue in several ways that hopefully f1m will deal with #i’m probably also not the most knowledgeable person to speak on this either so i’ll leave it there and anyone can feel free to correct me!
