you know what's awkward
when you're selling something on line craigslist or fbm
the buyer drives 25 miles one way to look at it, wants it
and then tries to negotiate your already low asking price
like buddy you just spent more than half an hour getting here and almost $10 in gas in that truck
you're not bailing out if i don't drop the price another $10 you're committed
so no don't ask
#seriously i sell decent stuff that i no longer need here like i took down a fence and had a ton (literally) of metal fencing#it wasn't in new condition no that's why i priced it about 25% of the new price#a guy literally drove 100 miles that's like two plus hours#and then wanted me to knock another $20 off#Buddy we both know you're not leaving here without the goods so don't embarrass yourself#selling#craigslist

When Eyes Meet (Murasakibara Atsushi)
A/N: Here I decided to make a Murasakibara version of an Aomine fic I wrote. The Soulmate concept belongs to the American comic series, ElfQuest. Aomine - Kise - Kagami - Kuroko - Akashi - Midorima
You already had gathered the small excess pile of candy, and was waiting for Murasakibara. Because of health conditions, you were often dealing with fatique and dizziness. As a result, your mom had began packing your bag with a bag of candy every day. "You're always low on energy, so it would be good for you to eat a few whenever you get your dizzy spells, sweetheart!" Your mom had chirped when you spotted her doing that. She had a point. But the bag she always bought, contained various flavors. You liked most of them, but the strawberry one was so sweet you felt like you would vomit pure sugar. Your mother agreed. So now, you were left habitually with strawberry leftovers. Thankfully, one of the wealthiest kids in school had a gigantic sweet tooth, and a roommate that would limit his amount of times to the local grocery store. His name was Murasakibara, and with Himuro around, it pretty much drove Murasakibara to your pile of strawberry sweets like an ant that had gotten a whiff of sugar. He bought your excess strawberry candy, and he paid the original bag price. You had thought of just asking for half the price of the bag, considering the strawberry ones made up like 25% of the bag at best and still have profit, but Murasakibara always paid the full price. When you asked him about it, he said he did it so you would keep selling them to him only. To make up for his kindness, you always gave him any of the leftovers of the flavors you did like too. And so, he basically funded your sugar rush. Both the two of you were pretty grateful to Murasakibara, it was a somewhat expensive fix, buying candy for your dizzy spells every day. You felt yourself perk as you saw his large figure approach you, and you waved. "Murasakibara-san." You greeted, as the purplette stood still in front of you. "What's up y/n-chin?" He asked lazily, but not at all disinterested. "Pretty good, today wasn't bad. I have a few lemon left too." You turnt around to the pile, scopping them up into your hands. Murasakibara's eyes glittered like a child's when the candies slipped into his hands, and if you didn't think he was worried about dropping one then it would almost appear as if Murasakibara withdrew his hands from yours a little too slowly. You walked with him, side by side. It was peaceful, as it usually was. Whenever you were walking side by side with Murasakibara, it felt calming. Like his presence sent a wave of comfort down your spine. You often wondered if he considered you a casual friend, like you saw him. He often left you guessing, and whilst it annoyed you, somehow you felt way too nervous to actually ask him if you were friends. Why you did not know, or perhaps you did but you just rather didn't want to really face it.
You later on wondered outside of the campus, considering Yosen was a boarding school. It was a really nice day, in Akita. You enjoyed the afternoon sun. As you turnt around the corner, you saw Murasakibara resting under a tree, eating chips. "Hey!" You greeted, looking at him. "Hello, y/n-chin." He greeted, as he stuffed his mouth full. You gestured at the spot next to him, and with a small nod, you sat next to him under the tree. "It's a nice day, isn't it?" You asked, and received another nod. You relaxed against the bark, the sweet breeze filling your lungs, playing a bit with your hair. The scent of food and nature filled the air. "Hey, I thought Himuro had limited your chips stack?" You questioned, curiously. "He Recognized last month, he's a lot more busy nowadays." Murasakibara confided to you, and your eyes widened out of surprise. "That's great news! I'm happy for him!" You chirped. Recognition was a natural phenomenon that happened as long as mankind could remember. People had always had two names. One used by everyone, and one more intimate, special. The name of their soul. This was a name one would only share with their parents, perhaps a sibling or a friend as close as a sibling. There was one special instance, where someone knew your name instinctively. Recognition was when two people would lock their eyes, and somehow, they'd know the other's soul name. Recognition usually led to a lifelong romance. It was, as society dubbed it, 'the moment you knew you found your soulmate.' Many people had wondered how Recognition worked. There seemed no pattern, no rule. Some people Recognized upon first glance, others did after already knowing their partner for a while. Some even had known the person they Recognized since childhood. It just happened. Recognized couples looked so happy, it seemed like there was a superior type of romance about it. It made fairy tales with their talk about true love, make a lot more sense. Hearing Himuro found the love of his life was great news, obviously, but there was a little nagging voice at the back of your mind. One that told you to push the topic. Murasakibara just continued to much silently. "But if you can buy snacks again, you don't really need my candy deal, anymore, do you?" You asked, realizing that for the past month, Murasakibara had been buying your candy whilst he had access to his old snacks again. "I don't need it, but I like your candy." You looked at him curiously. "Do I need to remind you that you buy them for the full price? Why do that when I'm at best giving a third of the bag?" "I know. But it tastes better when it comes from you." Murasakibara mumbled, looking even more interested in his chips then usual. Your heart skipped a beat. "Murasakibara-san," you breathed with a small blush, trying to think of what to say. Murasakibara turnt to look at you, his violet eyes staring into your e/c ones. "Huh? I thought I told you I want your candy for myself," his voice sent shivers down your spine. 'Is it my candy, or is it me, Murasakibara, that you want for yourself?' The thought hit you, and you bit your lip. As you tried to take a deep breath and stared into his eyes, wanting to take the leap of confession; the universe gave you a helping hand. "Mahr?" The name came to you, and Murasakibara quickly turnt away. You watched as he stood up, and he looked at you with a surprisingly red face. "I think I need to be alone now. I'd like to talk to you later though, Shiel-chin." Your face broke out in a large grin, and you nodded. Finding the love of your life, was definitely a moment that you'd need to sink in so you watched him go in peace. A happy, serene smile plastered on your face. This was only just the beginning.

☽ — a little bit about remus lupin
name; remus john lupin date of birth; 10th march 1960 at midnight exactly families; lupin & howell hogwarts house; gryffindor aesthetic: (here)
star sign; aquarius sun, gemini ascendant, cancer moon
sun - aquarius 20°46'16"
The sun determines ego, identity, and "role" in life. It's the core of who a person is. Remus' Sun is in Aquarius, meaning he is fundamentally unconventional. Comfortable dissenting or straying from the norm, he is an intellectual talent of abstraction is oriented towards pushing the boundaries of what seems reasonable. Amongst friends this is who Remus is and when comfortable he allows his true self to shine. He carries a lot on his shoulders and has a need to fight for the underdog. It's in i. his tenth house, meaning he feels the need to distinguish himself from others through goals, success, and responsibility - which don't always come easily to him due to his condition, despite his intelligence and talent.
ascendant - gemini 19°36'34" The ascendant is the "mask" presented to people. It can be seen in a persons personal style and how they are interrupted upon first impressions. Remus Ascendant is in Gemini, meaning he comes across as quick-witted, chatty, eclectic, and fun, though somewhat inconsistent (probably due to the moon cycle, though Remus does often have a lot on his mind which sways his mood). In conversation, he can seem probing and curious.
moon - cancer 25°19'55"
The moon rules a persons emotions, moods, and feelings. It is likely the sign people consider themselves the most as, since it reflects their personality when they're alone or deeply comfortable. Remus Moon is in Cancer, meaning his emotional self is sensitive, thoughtful, and empathetic. He has a tendency to feel like a martyr, and secretly fears being abandoned by those he loves. He often has trouble letting things go and feels like an emotional wreck at times, though he keeps this very much to himself - although the occasional tears have been shed when he's very drunk on a night out with close friends at 3am.
It's in his second house, meaning he finds security and safety through money and material possessions. This is because Remus knows how difficult it is for werewolves in his world, a job, a home and an income mean everything, which is why he always saves a section of his wages and insisted on an inexpensive house where the marauders now live, in which his room is the smallest due to rent prices.
wand; 10¼" long, made of cypress, unicorn hair core, pliablecore - unicorn hair
Wands with these cores produced the most consistent magic, were least subject to fluctuations and blockages, were most difficult to turn to the dark arts, and were the most faithful of wands. However, they did not make the most powerful of wands (unless the wand wood compensated) and were prone to melancholy if mishandled.
wood - cypress
Cypress wands were associated with nobility and were said to be well-matched to wizards who were willing to die a heroic death. Cypress wands found their soul mates among the brave, the bold and the self-sacrificing: those who were unafraid to confront the shadows in their own and others' natures.
flexibility - pliable
It took Remus a few times to find his wand, four exactly. Each wand felt wrong in his hand. The idea he'd be able to attend school wasn't realistic until only a week ago, and ten year-old Remus Lupin was concerned the wands could not only sense his nerves, but knew he wasn't completely a wizard and thus wouldn't work. They tried dark wands, pale wands, stiff, swishy, phoenix feather etc. Then Mr Ollivander placed a rich brown wand in his hand. It's base was twisted, the end rounded, it was very pretty and Remus remembered wanting to keep it from the moment he touched it, even if it didn't work. Having accidentally exploded Mr Ollivander's vase with the dragon heartstring ebony wand, Remus waved his new one and watched as all the glass shards rose in the air and burst in the air into glitter that fell all around them before disappearing into the floor. It was beautiful magic made from something ugly and his little heart felt warm as he clutched his new possession in his hands.
amortentia; chocolate, tea leaves, beer, blood, forests, smoke, home and pages
Being competent potioneer, remus would likely been able to brew a love potion earlier than his sixth year but did not attempt it until it was on the school curriculum. Remus has never had the need for a love potion. Unlike his friends who brewed them for fun or likely were slipped them by other adoring students, Remus has only ever brewed one in his life for academic purposes and then one again with Marlene in the kitchen when they were both drunk to test if they were still able to mix potions and curious to see if the smell had changed.
The strongest of the scents, the first one is always the same; CHOCOLATE. Chocolate has been something Remus has used as a coping mechanism for years and was something his mother Hope always offered him when he was sad or hurt. For as long as he could remember when Remus experienced difficultly around the full moon, Hope would go to the cupboard and pull him out a bar of Cadbury’s Dairy Milk, snapping off a piece and offering it to him. “Chocolate,” she said, “solved all problems” and that is something Remus has passed along to anyone he thinks needs to hear it.
The next scent was another comforting one of TEA LEAVES. Nothing fancy just the regular kind you smell when you open a box of tea bags or a tin of loose leaf tea his friends often gift him at Christmas. Remus has always loved a cup of tea, whether he’s stressed, sad, happy, angry or due to go to sleep he has a mug in his hand. After every moon cycle, Remus needs a day to recover and can be found in his bed holding a cup of camomile tea which is best friends take it in turn to make and bring him.
Grom there the smell of tea fades and dissipates into the smell of the FOREST, bark, mud and rainfall fill his senses and then a strong iron smell replaces it very suddenly. Remus has often told himself it is the smell of a can of BEER which is what it turns into, but before it does it is a smell he hates but secretly desires, especially in his werewolf form. BLOOD.
As remus had gotten older the scents have changed slightly and the order different, following the blood Remus now smells SMOKE. An occasional smoker since his fifth year at Hogwarts, it started as something he tried for fun and shared with Sirius as they stared out onto the black lake, now like chocolate it is a crutch for him. If he’s stressed at work he has a cigarette and the day before a full moon he’s been known to chain smoke outside pubs and bars or his bedroom window which although everyone notices, no one talks about.
The smell of the smoke brings about two further scents for Remus which compete with one another for his attention. The first is the smell of the MARAUDERS FLAT in Farringdon. A blend of smoke, tea, coffee, butterscotch and 70s wood furniture, the scent is home to Remus and something that makes him endlessly happy. Amongst the smell of the flat he smells PAGES that remind him of his work. Each day remus reads case files, newspapers and books that help him with his job. Pages remind him how lucky he is to be in a job at all, but most of all how fortunate he is to be in a job he loves despite all of it’s horrors.
boggart; a full moon
Dealing with boggarts gave Remus very mixed emotions. Magical creatures and defence against the dark arts had always been two of his favourite topics, but his whole class seeing his boggart and asking questions made anxiety root down deep in his stomach. The marauders organised themselves without him saying anything. James went first, then Peter - they assured him they'd get a big laugh. Then Remus went.
The boggart shifted suddenly into a full moon, with clouds casting over it, Remus could swear he heard a howl echo from the scene, but his friends told him afterwards it was all in his head. Not to be deterred with every ounce of strength he had, Remus pointed his wand and said the spell firmly with a flick of his wrist. The moon became a balloon which deflated and wound it's way around Sirius which made everyone laugh.
With a smile on his face Sirius went next, Remus joined his friends at the back of the queue and the whole ordeal was over. People asked afterwards what it had meant, out of friendly curiosity more than anything and Remus was as honest as he could be. "I'm frightened of werewolves." He said, but no one other than Sirius, Peter and James knew what that truly meant.
patronas; a wolf
His patronas had always made Remus chuckle. It seemed ironic and tongue in cheek, like the kind of joke he would tell down the pub.
Those who conjure the wolf are normally very mysterious. There is always somthing new to learn about these individuals. While some who produce this patronus enjoy their own company compared to being around others, they are still always loyal to those closest to them. Those who wield a wolf patronus will protect friends and family with a feirce passion.
While first impressions can lead one to believe the wolf patronus belongs to a strong silent type, they also have a playful side underneath. However, this is only displayed towards trusted individuals.
mirror of erised;
If Remus were to ever look into the mirror of erised he would see a very simple scene. It is himself, standing 6"2 in converse, jeans and a knitted jumper. His face is happy - all the agony, all the second guessing, the turmoil is gone. It is also clear, no scars or scratches on his handsome features, just rosy youthful cheeks. Amongst him are his two parents who stand either side beaming at him. Beside them are his best friends James, Sirius and Peter. They look light and happy, laughing or smiling as though someone has told a joke. Remus is not a werewolf, he's just a boy. His family have never been burdened with his secret and neither have his friends. He is normal and he is happy.
