Secret Santa

Summary: The BAU holds its first Secret Santa, and as fate has it, you pick your Spencer Reid. But you aren’t the only one with feelings. Gifts tell all.

Pairing: Spencer Reid x reader

Word Count: 1550+

A/n: We were going to do Secret Santa at work but shit hit the fan, and half of the people don’t want to give to the other half. So, I’ll substitute it with fiction. Please enjoy 🎅

Considering the amount of time the group spent working, finding everyone on the team that one perfect gift would be time-consuming. So, you suggested Secret Santa. 

Penelope loved the idea. She went around to gather everyone available and dragged them to the bullpen. Rossi, of the first to hear, offered his house to host the event on Christmas Eve. 

Gaining momentum, you pulled a piece of paper from your desk drawer and went to work. Most of the team gathered around to watch as your fingers folded the page into small rectangles and then tore at the edges. For each sliver of paper, you wrote a name for each member of the team. And then concealed the information by folding each piece. Morgan came back with a hat from lost and found. 

"Who wants to draw first?"

Morgan stepped up. He rubbed his hands together wickedly and drew from the hat, picking out a scrap. He revealed it to himself, keeping an even face. 

Penelope couldn't contain her excitement and pranced to you. Unlike the others, she didn't contain her thrill of the pick. You would guess Morgan, but there wouldn't be one person she wouldn't be happy to buy presents for. 

Prentiss stuck her hand in. She was smart enough to step back and wait to unfold hers when no one was watching. In a room full of profiles, one could never be too careful. 

Rossi didn't seem too thrilled with his pick but went back to stand beside Prentiss, trying to look over her shoulder at hers. 

JJ pretended to be selective, choosing one playfully to grab another one instead. She followed Emily's lead. Waiting until later to look. 

Reid was the last in the bullpen and stood off to the side, watching everyone else as they took their turns. 

"Reid?"

He bit his lip as he approached to pick between the last three. Once he pulled one, he unfolded it without concealing the corners of his lips. 

"Who'd you get, pretty boy?"

Spencer panicked, hiding the name in his fist so Morgan couldn’t peek. "That's not a part of the game."

"We have a case," Hotch called out from his office door. 

Morgan patted Reid on the back. There would definitely be more teasing later. 

The group filed into the meeting room one by one. Last, you extended the hat towards Hotch. Raising a brow, he diligently selected a scrap. He unfolded it and gave you a look. "Secret Santa?"

Nothing could fool him. When you smiled at Hotch sheepishly, he returned the smile, tucking the paper into his coat pocket and resumed his solemn expression. And you wondered if he'd picked you. 

You retrieved the last paper, putting it in your pocket for later. 

The flight back home was when you remembered the piece of paper. Luckily the case hadn't been long, or else you'd risk running it through the wash.  

As the others slept and rested, you chose the privacy of an empty row to unfold the paper.

Reid.

Of course. 

"Get somebody good?" Reid sat down across from you. And you entertained the thought that with his high IQ came with mind-reading capabilities. 

"Is there anyone bad?"

"I guess not."

You rested your cheek on your fist, staring at the scrap in concentration. "I don't know what to get them."

"You're lucky you looked at yours now. I've been worried about that the entire case. Slowed my reading speed down to ten-thousand words per minute."

You chuckle but offer your sincerest advice. "Whoever it is will love what you get them because it's from you."

"Thought that counts, right?"

You played with the paper between your fingers, and an idea popped up into your mind. "Right."

On Christmas Eve, everyone arrived at Rossi's home around seven. Rossi had spent the afternoon cooking an Italian dinner, and nothing had ever smelled more welcoming. 

Each team member discreetly left gifts on a table along the wall of the large window looking out onto Rossi's backyard, lit with twinkling Christmas lights. Presents varied in size, some wrapped, some bagged. Each gift with a tag addressed to who without the giver's name. It was more fun for profilers to guess. Though by the time everyone sat down, there were two fewer gifts than people present. 

"I'll go first," Rossi offered. Instead of going to the table to find his gift, he left the room, only to return with two handfuls of gift bags. "Merry Christmas." Rossi went around the table, handing a bag to each team member. When he gave you a bag, he beat answered your impending question. "What? I got myself." Returning to his seat as he continued. "So, I decided to get the same wine for everyone, since everyone depletes me at these gatherings."

"You should've picked from the hat again!" 

"You didn't say I could pick again." He sassed back. "Why doesn't someone else go? Reid?" 

Reid pushes his chair back but halts as you place a pack of cards on the table. You hold up the box, showing everyone. "Normal pack, right?" Everyone watched with a curious look. You hold it out towards Reid with your left hand. But with your right, you wave it over the box, and it disappears. 

"You've picked up magic?!" Spencer radiated as you make the deck reappear, this time without the box. Everyone claps, and you bow in your seat. 

"I thought I may try and attempt to impress the great Spencer Reid. And I've got a few more tricks up my sleeve for later." You send him a wink. "Who's next?"

"Go, kid." Rossi encouraged you. You walk over to the presents. Penelope, Emily, and then you spot your name written on a medium-sized gift bag. It's not too light nor too heavy as you bring it back over to the table, taking a seat as you pull out the red and green tissue concealing it. 

It's a handbag. A cinched sack with a dusty rose print with a white stripe along the top. And a pristine designer name on the front. 

You'd seen this bag… somewhere. But the memory was fuzzy. 

"Wooooah." JJ is the first to see the label. "That's nice." 

Penelope leans over JJ and snatches your bag from your hands. "You would call a Guess bag nice. This is a beautiful, crafted stretch of the fabric!" Morgan and Emily are stretching their necks. While Hotch and Rossi's brows furrow at the hysteria.

You're scanning everyone's faces until you look across from your seat and see Reid, the only one unalarmed. 

"I don't get why people are willing to spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars on a single fashion accessory." Rodeo Drive. A case. You're walking down the street, passing by the rich, feeling like a have-not. 

"It says that the owner of said handbag is worth something," You say to Reid, stopping in front of a designer's display window. Mannequins are dressed in obnoxious attire, but you're staring at a dusty rose bag displayed on a pedestal. "If someone buys it for you, they're telling you that you're worth wasting a lot of money on. If you buy it for yourself… then you're telling yourself that you're worth that." You'd seen many designer handbags you wouldn't be caught dead wearing, let alone paying the price of a down payment. But this one is modern and… your style. You can't help but gravitate towards it.

"You like that bag." He isn't asking. It's a fact. 

"I don't like myself that much." You force yourself to keep walking, but Spencer lingers, looking at the handbag another moment. 

You push back your chair, excusing yourself from the party. You miss the way the team looked between themselves, eyes one by one landing on Reid, who was quick to follow you into the hallway. Reid’s footsteps are too familiar not to recognize. When you turned on your heels, you nearly crash into him. 

He was worried you would be mad, but your demeanor spoke the opposite. You would hardly meet his eye, lips pressed together in a straight line. 

"I gave you a magic show, and you got me a purse!"

"I liked your show!" Spencer affirmed. "I loved it, actually."

"Why did you get me that bag?"

"Because you're worth that much to me." Now his eyes diverted your gaze, and the meaning behind his words clicked. "If anyone else had gotten me for Secret Santa, they would've bought me a book. But you gave me something that will last me a lot longer than five minutes. Something no one else would get me."

"The opportunity to ridicule me until the end of time?"

"A new shared interest!" He corrected. "And… maybe we could see The Magic Duel downtown sometime. I hear they're good. A little too into the banter-"

"Like as a date?"

"Yeah," he breathes out with a smile. He'd been holding that thought too long, you notice. 

"Sounds like a plan." You grin back at him.

"But you're paying. That purse really wiped me out."

Your laughter breaks up the tension, and Spencer takes your hand, leading you back to the group. 

If buying an expensive purse hadn't shown you his true feelings, his willingness to touch another human's hand did.

i went to the eye doctor today - i got new glasses! they should be here in about two weeks! i'm so excited that i'll be able to see better. plus my lenses won't have scratches on them anymore! and there'll be more lens to look through so i can see down! unfortunately it cost me three hundred dollars. but luckily i had that money in my bank account so i could get them. yeah. i've determined, though, that the rest of the money i make i need to save. like, all of it. i can spare some for gas, but that's it. i have to have enough for my bills through february, christmas gifts, AND a ticket, plus i need to get my car registered and inspected this month and that's gonna wipe out the rest of what i have now. so i'm not terribly excited about that, but i'm glad it's still early enough in the month that i have another paycheck coming this month. but i seriously need to save it all. just take it out in cash. sigh.

anyway, i got up early today for an appointment at 9 who never showed. and then i got mad because my next appointment was basically two hours of re-explaining the same five concepts over and over again to my tutee's sister who's helping him, but she keeps second guessing him. like, ma'am. please stop second guessing him. he's autistic, not stupid. and maybe it might be too much to ask, but some reading comprehension? and some listening skills? i described it to you twelve fucking times, ma'am, you need to stop trying to correct me and fucking listen to what i'm saying. if i'm in the middle of a process, don't fucking ask me what's happening while i'm explaining it. i'll get to that in a second once you can see what we've done. oh my god. i felt like i was going to have a fucking stroke.

once i was all done with that fucking train wreck of an appointment, i went to take a shower and joel was still passed out. cutie pie.

i unfortunately had a hard time sleeping last night, again, but what got me today was the being touched part of sleeping next to a koala-human hybrid. i'm not sure why it got to me today, but i was awake at like 6am despite not having fallen asleep until after 2am. joel's foot was over my leg and i couldn't handle it, so i tried to move as far away as i could, which i couldn't, because i was already on the very edge bc of how he sleeps, so i got up and planted myself in the bathroom for a while to calm down my nerves, and then i went back to bed and i was a little better off. needing to wake up two hours later was not enjoyable, especially for an appointment that never showed. i could've slept for another hour. i could've had more patience for my two hour appointment. but no. i don't appreciate people wasting my time.

i'm just bitter today? i don't know why. i was in a really good mood all day today - i even went out with my momma to get stuff for the party tomorrow and i didn't get frustrated? and then i got to make cupcakes for tomrrow too, and even though i didn't really have dinner, and i spent more of the evening in the bathroom than not due to the ice cream i ate, today was a good day, except for those appointments this morning and not getting a lot of sleep. i think the sleep is what's getting to me. i don't really wanna wake up early again tomorrow, but it's a normal early as opposed to today's pre-9am bullshit. no thanks.

anyway, tomorrow is party, kimmy gets to meet joel finally, and we all get to carve pumpkins and have panera and i get to stare silently into the non-existent camera like i'm on the office whenever my grandmother decides to speak. hooray!

The Most Influential People in the funko pop Industry and Their Celebrity Dopplegangers

The Hot Christmas 2021 Gift Idea-Funko Pops. When I first heard about this new line of POPs (pop in the oven) I was curious, I had never heard of them, so I decided to do a bit of research on the internet to find out more about them. My wife and I absolutely loved our gift for our 4-year-old daughter, it literally took hours to find one, but we found one, and she was thrilled! So, we got her funko pop movies a whole new collection of Pops, including one for each of us!

The Hot Christmas 2021 Gift Idea-Funko Pops. These awesome Pops are so fun and colorful, we were immediately drawn to them as soon as we saw them. The majority of the designs we saw were very well done and had some great details like the small Yoda that was included with one of our collections. There are actually some very cute Vinyl Figure Pops available, but if you're searching for something a little different, I've never heard of a company called To infinity, beyond the obvious truth that they sell POPs, I don't know what they did with their design style.

The Boba Fett Collection-The second hottest POP of the bunch, our daughter's favorite POP is the Boba Fett figurine. This collection is also extremely cute, and my personal favorite detail is the tiny dog walking on all four of his legs. With its friendly face and smiling face, I'm sure that my little girl is going to have a great time considering Boba as she keeps this collection together.

The Spider-Man Collection OK, this collection really has two separate collections, the first being the Spider-Man Figurine. With six points of articulation, and a hard resin vinyl figure, this is a great collectible to add to your child's Marvel Comics collection. He's my favorite Marvel Comics character, so this would make a excellent addition to my little girl's Spider-Man collection. The next item in this collection is the Spider-Man Balsa Statuette, which is a much easier figurine than the one I previously mentioned. While it doesn't have any articulation, I really like the colour scheme of this Spider-Man Figurine, and I also think this could be a nice addition to my daughter's Spider-Man collection.

Ron Wagner Limited Edition If you are going with a theme that is not already out there, this would be a excellent addition to your collection. First, we've got the Ron Wagner limited edition figure, which is my personal favorite. With a background similar to that of the first Ron, and a new figure that have the Ron, this could be a great addition to any Marvel fan's Marvel Collectibles. This is a relatively cheap figurine, at just over $30, yet it includes fantastic details like a spider web on its chest, along with a lot more spider like detail. If you are a Marvel fan, and you haven't picked up a Marvel film yet, then this would be a terrific option to add to your Marvel collection. Otherwise, you may want to wait for another movie to come out.

Iron Man 2 Now if you are a diehard Marvel fan, then you might not be aware of this, but Iron Man 2 has been less than stellar in the box office. While the movie was fantastic, overall, a few people weren't happy with how it ended up, especially if they found out that Tony Stark wasn't in the movie. Luckily for these diehard Marvel fans, Funko has produced a line of Iron Man figurines, which are just as detailed as the one from the movie. Each Iron Man Pop Up Figurine includes another version of Iron Man, and they're individually packaged to guarantee safety and well-being. The price ranges from about twenty dollars, all the way up to more than a hundred dollars, depending on where you purchase them from.

Spiderman: Homecoming If there were two top films in the last year that were highly expected by comic book, superhero and movie fanatics, then it was the Spiderman Homecoming movie. The Spiderman movie franchise has proven to be very popular, especially for people who love Spiderman comics, but now there's a new twist on the story. Peter Parker is back in his own home town in Spiderman: Homecoming. He teams up again with Sam Raimi, who is also producing the movie, and is joined by Tobey Maguire as Spiderman's best friend, Peter Parker. These two teamed up to make a good Spiderman movie, that many are looking forward to seeing again.

DC comics' Dark Knight There is not a lot left to talk about when it comes to the Batman Dark Knight reviews. People have loved Batman for decades, so it's only right that they get the greatest version of Batman when they buy a Figurine of this blockbuster movie. If you are a big fan, you might want to consider buying one of these remarkable Batman Dark Knight statues. They are certain to turn some heads and be a subject of discussion when you show off your collectables. Rate the Ship -  Let’s do it!  (I’m rather fond of the OkiSai ship, actually!)

How long will they last? - Melodramatic answer…until Souji dies…

How quickly did/will they fall in love? - It was instant, though neither really realized it until later…

How was their first kiss? - Hungry…desperate…fearful. They both feared ruining what they had…but each wanted so much more. Luckily, it was definitely a mutual thing. ;)

Wedding:

Who proposed? - I don’t see them getting married. It’s just not….them. They live together and pretty much live as husband and husband, but no marriage vows other than what is in their hearts.

Who is the best man/men? - If they had gotten married, Kondo and Hijikata would have been the best men, though Souji DID suggest Hijikata be a bridesmaid instead…

Who is the braid’s maid(s)? - None, though Chizuru would have been there…Mitsu was NOT invited

Who did the most planning? - No plans and no worries about it. If they had gotten married, it probably would have been a simple proceeding with just them and required witnesses.

Who stressed the most? - Saito would have been stressed. both for being in the public eye and because he would want perfection. Souji would be unphased…so long as Saito was there, that’s all he cares about.

How fancy was the ceremony? - No ceremony

Who was specifically not invited to the wedding? - Mitsu Okita…or whatever her last name is now…

Sex:

Who is on top? - Souji usually, but that’s not a complete given. It depends on the mood.

Who is the one to instigate things? - Again, Souji more often than not, but Saito has his moments, too.

How healthy is their sex life? - 8 …Their sex life is healthy, but sex in itself isn’t the only way they’re intimate.

How kinky are they? - 8 again…Both are willing to try things, but neither are into just being kinky for kinky’s sake.

How long do they normally last? - Sometimes they can go all night long, and then there are times when it’s over and done in minutes. It depends on so many different things.

Do they make sure each person gets an equal amount of orgasms? - Most definitely…though on occasion, one will “gift” the other with his own special moment.

Who stops the kid(s) from doing dangerous stunts after school? - Saito again. Souji doesn’t really see the danger in it…he’s done it and turned out okay, right?

Who remembers to pack the lunch(es)? - Saito, again….Let’s face it…Saito is the “mothering” type here. He also packs Souji’s lunch.

Who is the more loved parent? -Both parents are loved equally.

Who is more likely to attend the PTA meetings? They go together…though Souji sometimes causes a scene and Saito has to bite his tongue.

Who cried the most at graduation? - Neither cried…but they were immensely proud and had no problems showing it

Who is more likely to bail the child(ren) out of trouble with the law? - Souji…he GETS why they did the thing that got them there…Saito frets, tries to think of how to make them understand how they are ruining their very lives, etc.

Cooking:

Who does the most cooking? - Saito…Souji is banned from the kitchen for life.

Who is the most picky in their food choice? - Saito…Souji can eat just about anything so long as it doesn’t have onions. Saito is more watchful and wants to eat more healthily.

Who does the grocery shopping? -Saito…if Souji went, there would be nothing but sweets.

How often do they bake desserts? -Souji doesn’t bake but he watches while Saito does. He really doesn’t bake that often, perhaps once or twice a month.

Are they more of a meat lover or a salad eater? - Souji would prefer meats, but Saito is pretty strict about getting those vegetables in there.

Who is more likely to surprise the other(s) with an anniversary dinner? - Souji, though he has to order it in…Deep down, he’s a romantic. But don’t tell anyone or he’ll have to kill you.

Who is more likely to suggest going out? - Souji again…He knows he can’t really cook, and sometimes he thinks Saito just needs to get away from the chore.

Who is more likely to burn the house down accidently while cooking? - Souji, were he allowed in there. Though it’s not his incompetency with heat that got him booted….

Chores:

Who cleans the room? - They both do; it’s ingrained in them both to be neat.

Who is really against chores? - Neither…both find a sort of calm in the task of cleaning house together.

Who cleans up after the pets? - Both…the pet is shared so the duties are shared.

Who is more likely to sweep everything under the rug? -Souji…sometimes he just wants to hurry up and get finished.

Who stresses the most when guests are coming over? - Neither stress over it, though Saito would be the one if anybody did.

Who found a dollar between the couch cushions while cleaning? - Souji, and he stuffed in his pocket where Saito later found it while doing laundry.

Misc:

Who takes the longer showers/baths? - Souji, unless they are in there together…

Who takes the dog out for a walk? -They all go out together…

How often do they decorate the room/house for the holidays? -Only for the bigger holidays and they do so every year. Souji really enjoys Halloween, while Saito enjoys Christmas, but they both share the decorating of each

What are their goals for the relationship? -To live happily together…nothing more or less

Who is most likely to sleep till noon? -Souji…he LIKES to sleep. Saito is up before the sun, starting his morning routine.

Who plays the most pranks? - Souji again…though he’s learned to keep them in check somewhat after the last time.
