I'm never sure where to begin with these stories. Y'all remember when Nas spit a whole story backwards? Nevermind forget it. 

The year is 2013, I believe, and it's a rainy night in the fall. My boy Robbie Maxx drags my wife and I to a Meek Mill show in Teaneck NJ, just to peep the scene. The parking lot is a mad house of course. We had to wait in line and shit, which wasn't the vibe. We finally get in the spot, it's already packed and the opening acts are doing their thing. This one performer caught my attention. This short, energetic kid with his squad on stage with him screaming, "UPPERCLASS!". The young boy with the name "TWON" gleaming off his hat was spitting some fire with no fear or nervousness to a sold-out crowd in his hometown. Pretty dope performance overall. Soon after his exit from the stage Meek would come out and make is presence known. I knew that wasn't the last time I'd see or hear from that Twon guy. 

Some months later Maxx would headline a show at this spot called Mexicali Live (Debonair Lounge) and guess who he throws on the bill? You guessed it, TWONDON. It had been a while since I last saw the kid and this go-around the music was a bit different. He performed and did his thing much like the first time I saw him. He was chopping it up with his fans/supporters after his performance, so I had to wait to talk to him. I hate that sh*t. I was able to properly introduce myself and extend the invitation to collab. I'll admit our first encounter wasn't the greatest. It's always weird when a ni**a that doesn't know you tries to strike a conversation. He'll tell you. Although he knew of me as being Maxx's producer/engineer up until this point we hadn't had any extensive interaction. We exchanged info and that was that. He wasn't trying to hear anything I had to say that night though.

 Now it's 2014, I was floating around to different events in NYC. One in particular was a private album release party for Mobb Deep (RIP Prodigy). I want to say it was their last album, "The Infamous Mobb Deep." I'm coolin' in the spot for a little bit and guess who I bump in to? Of course, Twondon. The first thing he says to me is, "Damn B, you get around". At this point this ni**a finally realizes he can't escape the God. This time we got a chance to really chop it up. He mentioned to me he was looking for a new spot to record and a good engineer. I had to get my boy right. The first track we recorded together was, "Life's a Bitch" featuring AZ. I remember Twon asking me, "Yo B, can you somehow scratch in the Acapella of AZ from Nas' "Life's a Bitch"?” and explained how he wanted it to cut in and out of the hook. I remember thinking to myself, "This ni**a has no clue this my f**king BAG." To make a long story short my execution of what he requested was flawless. In past interviews Twon has mentioned that "Life's a Bitch" was when he found "His sound."

 Soon after Twon would make 1985 Sound Studio in Belleville, NJ his new home for recording. By this time I had already mixed a few singles for him including "4th and Inches" and "Run It" featuring Bizzy Crook and slew of others. There's this on-going thing where he'll say some sh*t like "Yo B, make me sound icy" and somehow I know what he means everytime. He also connected me with a few artists he knew including a young lyricist by the name of Dolla $ign Dunn who I continue to help with developing his sound as well. In the early stages of creating with Twon he had already had a lot of his beats picked out so he didn't really need me for production. I was just helping to cultivate that Upperclass sound through my mixing and mastering techniques. It wasn't until mid 2015 that discussions of his debut EP "Stay Golden" began to take shape. 

After a session one day Twon asked me about a beat I was creating on my ipad that I previewed on Instagram I think. No stories back then this was all timeline action. He said "That beat sound like me." 

I didn't think anything of it, I looped up the beat, added a few more elements to it and gave it up. No charge. That was the birth of the first single "Too Committed". He sat on the beat for a short time and came back to the studio and laid the 1st verse and the hook. Later on he told me that Smoke DZA would be blessing the record and executive producing the album "Stay Golden."

Twondon's “Stay Golden” album was released December 8, 2015, a day after my 30th Birthday. I was in Vegas my ni**a. The project was well received. The song "Million Dollar Babies" off that project racked up 600,000+ streams on Spotify alone. The whole roll-out for that project was dope. I go back and listen to that project sometimes and I love the way it sounds. It sounds just like the title, "Golden." So much work went into it and I enjoyed every minute of it. There are 10 mixes on "Too Committed" alone. Occasionally I will hear my wife bumping "All the Above." She's also partially responsible for placing "Too Committed" in the Indie film "King of Newark" (2016) 

After the success of that project we continued to create and build. The last few years I've watched Twondon evolve from rapper/lyricist to clothing designer to all-around entrepreneur. Yeah man, my boy was making clothes. I had to support him because the Upperclass Intl. collections were dope, simple as that. Every collection is limited pieces, so if you miss it for the week it's available it's over. His system is untouchable to say the least. He'll give you some dope music and then turn around and give you some fresh clothes. Young Nipsey traits for sure. The one piece I missed out on was this navy blue Upperclass hoodie he dropped. Still salty about that. He know. 

The inception of "God Complex" 

Summer of 2016 I locked in with my brother Josh. He would come to the crib on random days and cook up. Lay hooks, make beats etc. One of the hooks he laid was on "F**k What They Tryna Say," we both knew it was special. He laid it down and we never revisted it. Typical Josh sh*t. He's just a legendary soul. He's different. 

2017 I relocated to Atlanta. Twondon and I would maintain our working relationship and brother-hood from a far. We would send sessions back and forth, long ass facetime calls and sh*t. I would send beats sometimes and I stumbled across that joint "F**k What They Tryna Say" again, so I sent it to him. He didn't have anything in his catalog like it at the time. He wrote to it in about 45 minutes maybe less and sent me voice notes of the verses he had. Just undeniable flame. Since he didn't have a studio to record in at the time, I arranged to shoot back to Jersey to handle some business and record his verses. We linked up at a Sheraton I was staying at in Weehawken NJ overlooking New York City. I set up my laptop and microphone, we had some "God-Talk" and we got to work. Needless to say this record "Fuck What They Tryna Say" is about to be 4 years old by the time you guys hear it. Timeless vibes. Around the time we recorded that song I was still dealing with the indelible aftermath of my own personal police misconduct situation. It's documented that US Police had already shot and killed 72+ unarmed black males from 2015-2017. The numbers continue to rise. The message in that song is powerful, heavy and very clear, Fuck what they tryna say. We're not naive to what's happening in our communities, but as you can see we still thrive anyway. So we dont give a f**k what yall talking about. Plain and simple.

These last few years have made me realize how important the artist-engineer and artist-producer relationship really is. We've gotten so good at separating our business and personal lives that when this guy hits my line and simply says, "Mr. Ross," my response is normaly "Mr. Gibbs?”, I know something is coming. Would you believe we've spent the last 7 years developing his sound to what you hear today? I've mixed and mastered over 30 songs, 3 albums and 3 EPs for Twondon thus far. So many email threads, text messages, phone calls and overtime to bring to life that Upperclass sound you know him for. “God Complex” is just a cornerstone of what we've been able to build together on this journey of ours. Songs like “199$” and “Trips Up North,” are the creative by-product of our extensive conversations about life, man-hood, spirituality and how we are limitless in our thinking and resilient in what we pursue. We are Gods in our own right. Like Ye said, "I just told you who I thought I was, a God". Just respect it. Hope you enjoy this masterpiece. More music on the way. It's Upperclass ̡

"It's funny how ahgases got a lot done for Mark's birthday compare to the others." Serena commented while scrolling through her laptop in the living room as Melanie was sitting on the couch watching TV. "What do you mean?" Melanie asked not looking at her sister as Serena replied. "Someone made a joke about it having to do with land, air, and water." Serena scrolled back up to explained. "Um, Korea did the bus thing, then in the states they flew some stuff in the air, and in Thailand they had it shown on a boat. It's pretty crazy." Serena admired IGOT7's dedication. "They even donated a lot of money in his name to some charity in Thailand as well."

"That's how they are." Melanie laughed as she faced Serena. "Make me noodles." Serena rolled her eyes while shutting off her laptop. "Do it yourself." "You're headed to the kitchen right now to make food for yourself anyways." "Yeah, make food for me, not you." Serena stuck her tongue out at her sister while standing up and stretching her limbs. "I don't want noodles. Been eating that for the last few days already. Have to see what's in the fridge. I haven't gone grocery shopping since we came back from Jeju." Melanie followed after her sister towards the kitchen. "I knew I should have stopped by the supermarket on Friday when I came here."

Serena opened her fridge, but saw nothing of interest and closed it with a sigh. "Let's go food shopping then." Serena looked at Melanie. "I'm tired of take out, too." Melanie rolled her eyes while giving in. "Fine, but you're driving." "Of course. Let's go." "Not like this." Melanie motioned with her hand at herself as she was wearing shorts and a tank top with no makeup while Serena rolled her eyes also doing the same gesture. "I'm the same way. Who are we gonna impress at the market, huh?" "Shit, I don't know, but I hate getting stared at." "Whatever." Serena dismissed as Melanie went to her room to get ready and Serena sighed. "This sucks."

"Y'know, if I knew we were gonna run errands, too I would have just taken the bus and given you the car." Serena complained as she and Melanie rode the elevator to the fifth floor while Melanie smiled. "That's why I didn't tell you anything." "This bish." Melanie laughed as the sisters exited the elevators and noticed that a group of men were outside Serena's apartment door. "There goes my mood." Serena frowend as Melanie elbowed her. "Be nice." "Don't you guys have something else better to do than hang around someone else's door when yours is just a few doors down." Serena sarcastically told the group of seven as they smiled at the duo with Melanie greeting them warmly like always compare to her sister. "Hey! What's up?"

"There you are." Yugyeom smiled upon seeing the sisters walk up with bags of things. "Let us help." Jackson offered as he, Jaebeom, and Mark took the bags from the girls with Serena feeling awkward about it, but didn't show it. "Thanks." She opened her door as the group trudge inside. "Don't you guys have some other things to do or maybe a late night schedule to go to?" Serena checked her wall clock for the time. "It's like a few minutes past seven even though it's a Sunday." She remembered something when her eyes landed on Mark shortly afterwards. "Ah. It's also Mark's birthday." "Happy birthday, Mark." Melanie exclaimed with a smile as she held out a small container of vanilla cake with strawberries and chocolate drizzle on top.

"Thank you, Chaewon noona." Mark grinned as he accepted the offered dessert. "Since you're here I could give you your birthday gift, too." Serena said as she went to her room and returned with a medium-sized brown box as the group had settled themselves within the living room. "I still see this has become a routine of sorts." Serena muttered as she eyed the idol group while Melanie grinned. "The boys insisted on staying because they don't have anything to do since it's Mark's birthday." "Mmhmm, right." Serena mumbled before looking at Mark. "You should like it if you haven't seen them yet." Serena handed the box over to Mark as he smiled at her. "I'm sure I'll love it. Thanks, Jyongri noona." "You're welcome, Mark, and happy birthday."

Mark grinned once he opened his gift to reveal a collection of horror DVDs. "APT. Crimson Peak. Darkness Falls. Ju-On: The Grudge one and two. Loner. Shutter. Shutter Island. The Eye. The Orphanage. The Skeleton Key." He looked at Serena with even wider smile. "I've heard some of these, but never got the chance to watch them. Thanks." "Welcome and now you can watch any of them any time whenever you get the free time to do so." Serena smiled at him as Mark smirked at some of his members. "How about we watch one of them now?" "No! Why would you want to watch something so scary, Mark hyung?" Youngjae whined with a vigorous shake of his head before nodding his head. "Let's just watch something else."

"I agree." BamBam nodded. "Guys, it's Mark hyung's birthday." Jinyoung reasoned. "If he wants to watch a horror movie, then we're going to watch a horror movie." "Can we leave the lights on?" Jackson suggested as Serena shook her head. "That'll ruin the fun." "How is that fun?" "It sets the mood and makes it much more suspenseful." "Don't mind her, Jackson. Unnie likes watching suspenseful movies in the dark with the volume turned up high. She's weird like that." Melanie laughed before casting her eyes onto her sister. "Right?" "Yup, totally." Serena laughed as she turned her attention on to the bags still left in the living room.

"You guys do what you wanna do. I'm going to put these away." Serena went to do that as half of the boys wanted to watch one of the horror films while the other half wanted to watch something else. Melanie went to help Seena as she didn't want to bother with the boys' indecisiveness. After the duo put away their things they returned to the living room to see that the idols went with Mark's birthday wish as they saw the birthday boy inserting the disc into the player. "I'm surprised you can operate my entertainment system, too." Serena teased as Mark grinned back at her. "It wasn't all that hard once I figured out which remote went with what console over time since visiting more often." "Yeah, way too many times." "You know you love my company." "Says you."

"This one's good." Serena said upon seeing the opening credits as Youngjae faced her hopefully. "Could you tell us how it ends then?" "No." Everyone chuckled as Jaebeom patted the younger man's back. "You'll be fine." "There's popcorn to keep you occupy and probably distracted." Melanie stated as she placed two bowls onto the table. "One's caramel and the other is cheese." "Ohh, cheese." Jackson grinned taking a handful with Yugyeom doing the same, but for the caramel. "Thanks." The idols thanked her while munching on the snacks. "Welcome." Melanie smiled while she held onto her own personal bowl of both flavors and sat on the floor as the boys returned their attention to the film. Serena switched off the lights leaving on one for Youngjae and joined the group even though she's already seen it.

Somehow during the first fifteen minutes of watching the film, Youngjae and BamBam had snuck off with Melanie to the kitchen to watch something else on Melanie's iPad mini. Melanie grew bored of the film, but wasn't interested in this type of genre in general. Serena grew sleepy a few minutes later and tried her best to stay awake for the sake of it being Mark's birthday. She gave in a few minutes later as she quietly made her way to her room knowing full well that she would be call in to work earlier than expected. That left the group of five to finish the movie, but Jackson slowly joined the trio in the kitchen where he discovered the group eating ice cream without him.

The quartet in the living room turned their attention towards the direction of the kitchen as Jackson's loud voice could be heard telling Melanie that he wanted whipped cream, sprinkles, and a cherry on top of his ice cream bowl before the bowl itself went crashing to the floor in pieces. This instantly woke up Serena from her slumber as she rushed towards the kitchen to see what had happened with the quartet in tow. "Seriously?" She groaned upon seeing the mess without glasses or contacts on. "This is why we can't have nice things." Serena rubbed at her eyes as she made to clean up the mess, but Melanie told her not to bother and to go back to bed. "I got it, unnie. Just go back to bed. I know you have work later."

"You have school. Don't you?" Serena countered, but let her sister do her thing anyways. "Yeah, but it's later in the day." Melanie explained as she tried her best to sweep up all of the ceramic shards with Jackson trying to clean up the melted ice cream. "Be careful, Jackson." Melanie firmly told the idol as she noticed him wiping the floor. "Don't need you getting one of those things stuck in your hands." "Thanks, noona, but don't worry. I'm being super careful." Jackson assured the female as he finished what he was doing without any harm. "See." He showed Melanie his hands with a smile as she rolled her eyes. "Now sit down and I'll do your ice cream bowl for you."

"Can I have one, too?" Yugyeom asked as Melanie smiled. "Sure. Anyone else?" She looked at the other three expectantly as they all raised their arms a second later. "Alright. I'll scoop you all a bowl, but you guys can top it off with whatever you guys want." Melanie laughed with a shake of her head as she began with Jackson's bowl first. Serena let out a yawn while using her hand to cover it as she glanced at the idols who filled up her kitchen along with her sister in it. "Y'all know the drill so I'm not repeating myself." She pointed a finger at all of them while continuing to speak. "I don't want to wake up to anymore broken things. I don't have the time to replace them since it took me forever to replace the sofa."

"You're not gonna join us?" Mark asked once he noticed Serena was leaving and she faced him with a tired smile. "No, sorry. Although I know it's your birthday." Serena ran a hand through her hair. "I would rather sleep. I become super grumpy and irritated if I don't get in some good sleep." She gave them a small wave. "You guys have a good night and enjoy the ice cream. Don't bother Chaewon too much. I can't be responsible for her if she does anything to you guys while I'm asleep." She chuckled mischievously as Melanie rolled her eyes. "I'm not like you." "Sure." "Good night." She waved one last time with GOT7 wishing her a good night before returning to her room.

"Noona." BamBam called as Melanie was now working on a bowl for Jaebeom. "What?" "What's your passcode?" "Why?" "It locked me out." "You shouldn't have messed with it, hmm?" BamBam rubbed his neck nervous. "I accidentally pressed the wrong button while eating my ice cream." "Yeah, sure. How about we all just go back to the living room and finish the movie." She suggested as she finished the last bowl and handed it to Jinyoung. "I forgot about the movie." Mark laughed sheepishly after topping his ice cream bowl with various items and returning back to the living room with Jinyoung and Yugyeom following after once they were done topping their own bowls.

"Can we not?" Youngjae pleaded as Melanie laughed while putting away the bucket of ice cream. "It's just a movie, Youngjae." She told him before looking at the idol. "We can turn on more lights if you want." "Okay." He let out in a defeated tone with BamBam and Jackson accompanying the male to the living room while leaving Jaebeom and Melanie behind. "So noona," Jaebum began, "Sorry about Jackson breaking Jyongri noona's bowl." Melanie dismissed him as she was topping off her own bowl of ice cream. "It's fine. Accidents happen." "But I know the table must have not come cheap compare to the bowl." "True, but it's all good."

She smiled at him once she was doing topping off her ice cream bowl while she motioned with her head towards the living room. "Let's head on over." "Can't we hang out here and talk?" Jaebeom suggested instead as Melanie shrugged. "If you want to." She eyed the male. "Although it's Mark's birthday." Jaebeom sighed. "It is his birthday." He shrugged with a soft sigh. "Alright, let's join the others." He gave in as Melanie laughed at his behavior. "Why do you sound so disappointed?" Jaebeom seemed alarmed, but quickly recovered. "I wanted to eat my ice cream in peace." Melanie laughed at his response. "It's a horror film, JB. I don't think there's peace when three of your members are easily scared." "I know, Chaewon noona. I know."

The two returned to the living room to finish watching APT although Jackson, Youngjae, and BamBam kept making noises throughout the whole thing. After the movie was over Melanie called it a night She didn't want to be responsible if the boys missed their schedules. "Again, Mark, happy birthday." She said as she cast him a small smile. "Sorry about unnie." "Thanks, noona, and it's fine. It happens." He said with a small smile. "Tell, Jyongri noona, bye from us." "Will do." Melanie smiled at him before walking them towards the door. "Stay safe guys and good luck with the rest of your activities." "Thank you." GOT7 told her as Jaebeom was the last to linger to wish her a good night which made her giddy for some reason. "Good night, noona." "Good night, JB. Take care." "You, too."

Third *****SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3 OF JESSICA JONES INCLUDING THE LAST SCENE OF THE SERIES SUPER SPOILERS AHEAD*****

I’ve only watched the finale once, but it felt so so so rushed. Luke coming back for a cameo? I was screaming my fucking head off and smacked my dad on the arm who was just innocently trying to watch conspiracy theory videos on his iPad next to me (he watched season 3 later and didn’t wanna be spoiled) but it was totally blink and you’ll miss it, and you KNOW they they totally filmed it once they got told they were canceled. I wish we had Luke the entire season. Even half the season. I’m a huge Luke/Jess shipper and I’ve been dying since they shared their first scene together. But alas, no Jessica Jones-Cage, no Dani Cage, no cute little superfamily walking through the park and snuggling and loving each other. And that makes me sad.

What also makes me sad is how they treated Trish. They didn’t have to do my girl Patsy so dirty. Why do they hate her so much????????? The raft??? The fucking RAFT????????????? There was so need to put her there. Since season 1, all Trish wanted to do was save the world. She thought she could and she just went down this deep hole, and a poorly written hole of you ask me. That scene with Costa where she admitted she’s the bad guy BROKE MY FUCKING HEART. Her abusive mother gets murdered, so she goes after the killer??? Maybe if she had a better relationship with Dorothy it would be more realistic. They seemed to be setting her up as maybe the main villain for a potential season 4 but got canned and had to rush that fucking horrible casket ending. That fight was like 3 minutes long, and if Trish is so good as she’s been hyped up to be, it should have been a longer fight. It would have been cool if season 4 was them breaking her out of the Raft, though.

Let’s not even get started on Jessica planning to leave. With no real reasoning? I did enjoy the last few seconds. I think there is a LOT to unpack there, especially if you’ve read the Jessica Jones comic that came out on 2016 and what they did with Killgrave. The first time I watched it I was like “...That’s it????????????” then I went back and watched the train station scene again and realized she was SMILING once Killgrave talked. Maybe he’s able to get to her once more. So I know it’s a stretch but I like the possibility of that better than the boring ending they gave us 😂😂😂😂😂 I think that’s most of my thoughts. The ending was rushed. They did Trish so dirty. I’m gonna miss my girl Jess more than anything.

My Guide to Going Light!

So, here it is folks, my guide to gear. Is it the best way to do it? For me, yes, for you, maybe. Either way, have a look and see what you think.

Background

Over the years, I owned a lot of different equipment; when I started out, I was into full-frame DSLRs and all the large glass that accompanies them. I had a large number of camera bags and cases to carry the myriad of gear. I was in the "more is better" category.

When mirrorless cameras appeared, I got hold of a Sony A7 MK2 and a Nikon V1. I liked the Sony camera, but not the lenses, way too big and too expensive!

In 2016, I sold everything and switched to Fujifilm. I still love to shoot with my X-Pro2! I have a few zooms, but my go-to lenses are the weather-resistant F2 23mm & 50mm. They are compact, well-made, have stunning performance, and a great price.

When I moved to Taiwan in 2017, my focus shifted away from studio work toward documentary and street photography. This move allowed me to reduce the amount of gear needed.

For two years, I used a Peak Design 10L Everyday Sling. On paper, it should be the perfect bag, not too big, lightweight, albeit expensive. As you guys know, it is tough to find the ideal camera bag. I find that it does affect my mood when I'm out shooting if there is something that feels out of place, or not quite right. The Peak Design bag looks pretty, but after using it for a long time, I can safely say that I hate the f**king thing. Its main compartment is too big for my X-Pro2 but too small to carry a laptop easily. The front pocket is too small and gets compressed by the straps when carrying a tripod. These faults are trivial compared to my main gripe. This bag is just so damn uncomfortable to carry for any length of time. I have never had a bag that gave me so much shoulder pain! After one hour of walking, I'm already thinking about going home due to the dull ache caused by the strap cutting into me. Yes, ok, I could have modified it, but should I need to with a bag that costs this much?

What am I trying to achieve?

These are the contents of my bags. More or less!

My goal is to have as much versatility as possible in a small, light package. These are my goals:

Two camera bodies with prime lenses fitted (28mm & 85mm).

The ability to shoot gimballed video.

Wireless sound recording.

POV(point of view) video.

Weatherproof without the need to mess around with a cover.

Enough battery power to shoot for the whole day.

Can carry a laptop or iPad for in the field editing and uploading. Notice the word CAN

light enough to pick up with my little finger :) Hahaha!

If you have never seen or owned one of these bags, get one. It is a no-brainer. Even if you don't use it for camera gear, it's a great choice to take to the coffee shop or a meeting.

Ok, so why this bag?

It is compact and lightweight

It has excellent internal storage, many pockets and even two, interior, water bottle pockets (get reliable, lockable flask).

It is waterproof.

It is super comfortable.

It is great for riding a bike and has an extra strap to stop it from swinging around and bashing into your legs.

They look very cool.

Tenba BYOB 9&10

These are camera inserts that come with dividers to keep your gear organised. Very high quality and offer adequate protection. They also have useful side pockets for stashing batteries and lens caps etc. I own both the 9 and 10(bigger), but I usually go with the 9 as it's perfect for carrying the essentials. The beauty of these bags is you can take them out if you want an empty messenger bag. I often walk around with my Ricoh GR iii, so I don't need all the other stuff. I can put it into the handlebar bag on my bike. Two seconds and I'm ready to go.

Think Tank Pee Wee PPR

It's a small wallet for holding memory cards and small batteries. Perfect for a power-hungry camera like the Ricoh GR iii.

The Cameras

The three cameras that I carry, I also use this iPhone!

Two is better than one! I dislike swapping lenses in the street, it's slow, cumbersome and risks getting crap on your sensor or dropping a lens on the floor. I like to shoot with primes although sometimes I'll take along a zoom if I think I will need it.

Fujifilm X-Pro2

The X-Pro2 is my baby! Almost four years old now, and I still love it. This is the versatile camera of the two. It has the 50mm F2 typically on it, but obviously, I can swap it as the shoot requires.

Ricoh GR iii

I used to shoot at 35mm most of the time, so adapting myself to the slightly wider 28mm of the Ricoh GR iii was not too difficult. It is easy to get close to subjects with this camera, and I mean really close!

Killer features:

size - it's so small and light.

snap focus (single, fast press will jump the focus to the distance you set. I usually use 1 or 1.5 meters).

Highlight protection metering mode. I have never had another camera with this option. It will stop the highlights from being clipped. Very cool in high contrast, sunny environments.

Three user presets. Usually, I go, meh, who needs them? Not in this case! They really are extraordinary. The preset will put everything back to their chosen settings, including shutter speed, aperture, ISO and the focusing distance, if manual. Great for those who like to use zone focus.

iPhone SE (2020)

This new bang for the buck iPhone shoots great video footage (4K 60). This is my go-to video camera as the other two are mainly for sills only. Everyone carries a phone, right? May as well get one with great features!

GoPro Hero Session 5

I can mount this in the hot shoe of my camera and shoot POV as well as film my crazy surfing exploits (note to self - learn to surf!).

The bags and cameras are covered, let's talk about the small things now.

DJI Osmo Mobile 3

Yes, I know there is a new version out, but it's not that much better. I'm a novice when it comes to video, but this thing is a blast to use. Stick the phone in and away you go, excellent. The strange thing is that no-one seems to care about being filmed by this, but try it with a large DSLR and see what happens. I often shoot with this in my left hand whilst shooting with the Ricoh GR iii in my right hand. The gimbal is a distraction, and nobody sees the diminutive Ricoh GR iii! I can also shoot a load of cool stuff, motion time-lapses, panoramas etc…

Saramonic Blink 500 B3 (lightning version)

Sound is an incredibly important aspect of video making. I couldn't rely on just the iPhone's mic. The Saramonic Blink 500 receiver plugs into the bottom of the phone, and you can clip the transmitter to your belt. I also has a lavalier mic that you can clip to your shirt. Awe-inspiring bit of kit!

Tripods

I carry two, small tripods. The DJI version that came with the gimbal and a small Gorillapod.

Miscellaneous

Bullet Journal and stationery.

Bullet Journal, pens, highlighter etc

I don't always take this as books are weighty, but I do like to scribble down my thoughts, and the bullet journal is a great way to do that!

Power Bank and cables

Shooting video will drain the battery on your phone, so it makes sense to carry one. I could also use it to charge the Ricoh GR iii battery at a push.

Peak Design

Despite slating their bag earlier, I still use a lot of their gear. The eagle eyed among you will have noticed the red tags used to clip on the various straps that Peak Design make.

I use the capture clip on my belt on my left side, that's where the X-Pro2 lives when not in the bag, the Ricoh GR iii lives in it's own case on my right hip. On my wrist I have a Peak Design Cuff. This lets me use the same strap on both cameras!

In the messenger bag I also carry a Peak Design Slide Lite, so I can attach a regular style strap to either the X-Pro2 or the Tenba BYOB 9. Incidentally, I also have the PD Field Pouch which makes for an awesome lightweight bag setup when combined with the strap.

There's a longstanding joke within Auburn's defensive meeting room involving linebacker Deshaun Davis and defensive coordinator Kevin Steele.

"I'm actually the defensive coordinator," Davis said in December. "(Steele) just gets paid."

It has been a running bit around the program for nearly two seasons, when Davis first became a staple in the middle of the Tigers' defense -- except that, actually, it might not be that much of a joke. After all, the best jokes contain a kernel of truth to them.

"He's actually called plays before," defensive tackle Dontavius Russell said at SEC Media Days last week. "Yeah, like, that's not a joke."

While Davis jests about the title, it's one he doesn't take lightly, certainly not after how his first two years on the Plains -- which he described as "rocky" -- went while playing for two different defensive coordinators, Ellis Johnson and Will Muschamp. After signing with Auburn as an undersized three-star linebacker out of Vigor in 2014, he redshirted his freshman year and followed it up with a limited role in 2015, appearing in 12 games mostly on special teams and as a reserve.

Then came another coaching change. Muschamp left Auburn to fill the head coaching vacancy at South Carolina, and Auburn hired Steele away from LSU.

"One thing we preach at Auburn is event plus response equals the outcome," Russell said. "He could've shut down in those times where he wasn't getting his opportunity or his fair shot to get to play. But he stayed at Auburn. A lot of guys can't handle that and will transfer out. They'll just give up on the program because they feel like the program gave up on them. But he didn't do that. He wouldn't. That's the way he is."

Instead of folding, Davis viewed the coaching change as an opportunity -- a reset on his college career, if you will. With Steele, a linebacker coach by trade, and former Auburn All-SEC linebacker Travis Williams on board to coach the room, Davis knew he had a fresh start on his hands.

It didn't take long for him to earn the respect of not only his new coaches, but his fellow teammates on that side of the ball. While Auburn's 2016 defense featured the likes of Carl Lawson and Montravius Adams on the line, and veteran Josh Holsey in the secondary, Davis recognized the team's need for a leader in the middle of the defense after the graduation of linebackers Kris Frost, Cassanova McKinzy and Justin Garrett.

"I didn't shy away from that role at all," Davis said. "I actually embraced it. I knew I had a fresh start. I wasn't given the chance by the other coaches, but when Coach Steele came in, he told us that the question mark was going to be linebacker play. And me being who I am, I stepped up to the challenge.

"I always knew I could do it, but they actually gave me a chance."

That spring is when Davis really took to his new role -- when he believes he proved himself to the new staff and his fellow defenders. By the time fall rolled around, the one-time reserve solidified his spot in the starting lineup.

"It's different for a player when a coach believes in you and has your best interest in heart," Davis said. "Not even just on the field, but to be a better man, not just a better football player. I carry myself different. I walk with a different swagger.... Ever since then, I've been trying to push forward."

That season, Davis started every game and totaled 63 tackles, including seven for a loss, five quarterback hurries and three pass breakups. He was unsatisfied with his breakout season, so he turned in an even better campaign last season, when he led the team with 82 total tackles, with 6.5 for a loss and 3.5 sacks, a fumble return, one hurry and a pass breakup before earning his bachelor's degree in December.

While his production increased, Davis' role was more vital than just the raw numbers, as he was the point man for the defense, relaying calls to the rest of the defense and, at times, making his own calls from the field based on how the opposing offense lines up.

"I can trust what he does behind me," Russell said. "I don't have to worry about him being in the right spot or the right position. He knows his responsibility, he gives us our calls. He allows us to do what we do to help him do what he does. We're helping each other."

It's a privilege that Davis has earned from Steele -- who acknowledged late last season that the linebacker "would probably do a good job" as the team's defensive coordinator -- through his devotion in practice and in film study.

"I see things that a lot of people don't see because I spend so much time on my iPad, I spend so much time in the film room with Coach T-Will and Coach Steele, going over game plan," Davis said. "Sometimes, before he makes a call, I know what he's going to call. That's just the kind of mirror image that we have. That's who he wants me to be. He wants me to be a defensive coordinator on the field, and I think I do a pretty good job of that."

Their relationship has strengthened over their two-plus years together -- to the point that Davis views Steele as a true father figure, and Steele in turn jokes with Davis that he should just join the coaching staff after this fall instead of going to the NFL.

While Davis isn't so sure about that -- he thinks he'll either coach one day or go into broadcasting after his playing days are through -- there is one thing that appears certain. Auburn's third-year defensive coordinator will once again lean on the Tigers' other defensive coordinator to help the program put together what Davis believes could be a top-five unit nationally.

"I'm trying to find a way to get better at it now, to put my team in better position," Davis said, "but I'm pretty satisfied from what I've been doing so far."

But she didn’t just finesse the engagement ring, Hailey also reportedly bought Justin his very own diamond encrusted engagement ring with his initials on it. She also bought a custom made diamond ring for herself with the word ‘Baby’ on it. A nod to Justin’s breakout hit or just a word she likes? We’ll never know… or we might if she says anything about it, but that’s pretty doubtful.

Justin also apparently bought a 33 carat diamond watch while he was there. Treat yourself!

According to TMZ they were being real cute playing hide and seek in the store and Justin was photographed even giving Hailey a shoulder massage while they waited.

  As a person that is not too keen on change and loves continuity and structure, I thought I would continue to follow my last blog on the theme of live sporting events. I will focus on the Toronto Raptors basketball team. This team is my favorite basketball team as I live in Toronto and like to represent my city, so you could say I am an avid audience member. The Toronto Raptors play in the NBA, which is the highest level of basketball there is. In conjunction with my last blog on the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Toronto Raptors too play in the Air Canada Centre, so both teams share the arena for their home games. The Toronto Raptors have a huge fan base that supports the team whenever they play at home. Toronto Raptor fans can vary from all different locations on the continuum of fans. As an audience member of the Toronto Raptors there is almost a standard that you have to uphold to so that if you identify yourself as a Raptors fan there is some things you must be knowledgeable about, like basic stats, names and positions of the majority of the players on the team. True fans of teams in any sport do not like bandwagons’, which are people that act as a fan who have only just started watching this team mainly because they just started getting more attention.  The Toronto raptors are known for their die hard fans as the Maple Leafs do, although there are some different aspects and media fandom characteristics that will be touched on later in the blog. Furthermore, as audience members of the Toronto Raptors this blog will touch on the media fandom, the use of time and media, the influences of watching sports live and at home, as well as media rituals and media framing in regards to my topic on the Toronto Raptors.

           Audience members of a live sporting event like a Toronto raptors game that I have personally been to are known as fans. Fans come in all different levels and can be seen on a continuum that goes as such,

This continuum explains the 4 stages of a fan that increase from a more passive stance as a fan to a very active position in the fandom. For example when looking at the Toronto Raptors you will have your corporate/business people that go to impress clients as well as a night out in Toronto, but do not really care for the basketball game and wouldn’t consider them selves as a genuine fan. These people would be known as passive consumers.  Moving forward along the continuum, we have enthusiasts that go to some games but mostly watch at home and follow the team quite passionately and may have a jersey to support the team. Next we have the super fans, now these people are genuine fans that most likely have season tickets to the Toronto raptors and dress up for every game (eg. Face paint, jersey, hair dye, and posters). Super fans are people that are sometimes seen as problematic and let the team cloud their rational judgment in terms of doing questionable activities to prove their devotion to the team. Lastly, we have the producer type of fan where the passion for the team is so high that he or she creates some form of media outlet to extend their thoughts, opinions and possibly creation of the event in some form. Dedicating their time and effort into expressing their passion excessively shows becoming a producer of the team. There is an example of a super-fan of the Toronto Raptors who is actually known as the Toronto Raptors Super Fan, his name is Nav Bhatia and he has not missed a home game in 20 years. Nav purchases season tickets that are courtside each year and the Toronto Raptors organization has noticed him and made him an ambassador of their organization due to the amount of people that admire him. Ironically Toronto Raptor fans have now become fans of a super-fan.

           In regards to the use of time and media with the Toronto Raptors, the organization makes sure most if not all media platforms play the broadcast if the Toronto Raptors are playing. If a fan does not have the time or the money to attend the game in person then the other outlets that the organization supports such as, radio, television and live streams on smartphones or laptops eliminate the time and space bias that attending the live sporting event creates. Attending a sporting event live is a lot different as one can imagine, but for fans of the Toronto Raptors it does not matter if you attend but as long, as you care to watch the game. Obviously it would be much more enjoyable to attend but that luxury is not for everyone. As described in chapter 7 of the Media audiences, “audiences are more frequently time-shifting their media exposure. Viewers can choose to watch their favorite shows at more convenient times and on a variety of media platforms such as computers, videogame players, iPod, Ipad, Kindles and more” (J, Sullivan, 2013. pg. 165).  Extending my point on the fact that media exposure is always increasing, as new media platforms eliminate time bias by allowing you to watch whenever, wherever.

           The Toronto Raptors are a good team and have been doing well in the past few years. Making the playoffs is something the Toronto Raptors as well as every team hope to at least accomplish each year. The Toronto Raptors treat the playoffs a lot more seriously. For each game either home or away on the road they close off a section outside the arena. They close this section off for the duration of the game to be known as Jurassic Park, where fans from Toronto can get together to watch the playoff games outside the on the huge screen outside the Air Canada Centre. This creates a fandom subculture and allows a feel for being inside the arena where game is being played without actually being inside. There are food vendors, beer vendors and free prize giveaways and multiple media outlets filming the whole thing, making it seem like the game inside for the people that want to support their team as a fan base but either do not have tickets or the team is on the road. This quote describes that of the presence of being in the Jurassic Park as they call it allows for the sense of being in a distant location when the media is present. I can too attest to this fact because I have been an audience attendee within Jurassic park before when the Toronto Raptors were in the playoffs and the experience is surreal. It is almost just as fun or some may say even more enjoyable being outside with the die hard fans cheering for our mutual favorite team.

           As per media rituals that are described in the Sullivan text; there are different types of rituals some that are more significant than others. As stated in the Sullivan text, “In one sense, ritual can simply mean your regular, habitual activities” (J, Sullivan, 2013. pg. 178). This is the type of ritual that directly relates to this topic upon the Toronto Raptors on a more personal level. The house I live in with 5 other roommates all have the same ritual every night whenever there is a sporting event, especially when the Toronto Raptors play, we all eat dinner and watch the game together. This is more of an informal ritual but something that is genuine and true to our selves as dedicated enthusiasts towards the Toronto Raptors.

           Media framing plays a huge part in the media and is debatably the most concerning issue in in regards to the media market today. As stated in the article by Wasike, “Media companies are very competitive today and can get fierce. Media framing is refers to the selection of certain aspects of reality in order to make them more salient in a bid to promote a desired interpretation” (B, Wasike, 2017. pg. 9). The media basically twists the real news by capturing a specific frame of an event to describe the whole picture when really that leaves out extensive details that can be crucial for the story. In regards to the Toronto Raptors, I have seen media framing by the organization framing in on their best games and expressing how good they are, when really the team is in a loosing drought. To fully capture the team they must express all of the ups and downs of a team, although economically it is a horrible idea, the team would not appeal to the public eye with portraying the bad side to them.

           Furthermore, as we come near to the end of my last blog we will touch on one more aspect relating to media audiences and the Toronto Raptors, crowdsourcing. In chapter 9 of the Sullivan text it says that, “crowdsourcing refers to the act of a company or institution taking a function once performed by employees and outsourcing it to an undefined network of people in the form of an open call” (J, Sullivan, 2013. pg. 226). In simpler words, crowdsourcing is when a company expresses to the public that they need content or something for their show. Crowdsourcing allows for the public to get a chance to directly affect the company or institution that is asking for help. The Toronto Raptors used crowdsourcing to ask the public to come up with the name for the basketball team that is now called the ‘Raptors’. The organization asked for ideas for names and said that a pair of season tickets for one year would be rewarded to the person that comes up with the one they like the best and now that guy can say he came up with the name for the Toronto NBA team, the Toronto Raptors.

           To conclude, being an audience member of the Toronto Raptors has and will forever be a great experience. Dissecting the game and all the aspects to the organization and how they put on a show for the audience is a lot more than one may think. Fandom come in all different levels of enthusiasm and range from a very passive fan to an excessively active fan that lives and breaths what they are a fan of to the point where it can become a problem. Furthermore, touching on the time bias of live events, the concerning media framing, perceptual illusion of a live event and the crowdsourcing can all tie into how the audience is studied upon. As a Toronto Raptors fan I can say I would be strong enthusiast upon the continuum as my fan experience is not problematic but I enjoy cheering for my team as the only NBA team in Canada so it is also a patriotic influence on myself. The following blog post, unless otherwise noted, was written by a member of Gamasutra’s community. The thoughts and opinions expressed are those of the writer and not Gamasutra or its parent company.

I will try to keep it brief, lest this become a book! (eh, publishers?) I hope this encourages others to share a “3-things…” post. It’s fun to introspect and accumulate learnings from your career. But first, a shiny picture of some films I’ve worked on!

Why 3 things? It’s something Randy Pausch asked us to do after each project at Carnegie Mellon’s Entertainment Technology Center. “List 3 things that worked, 3 things that didn’t and 3 things you’ll do differently next time”. I’m modifying Randy’s thought exercise a bit to bring you 3 things I learned per each job I’ve had in my career so far. Let’s begin.

Electronic Arts / Maxis

Software Engineer, 2005–2009

In 2005, I joined Maxis straight out of grad school at Carnegie Mellon to work on Will Wright’s game “Spore”. I was part of the core engine team.

1. Invest in your own tools

My career has been about building tools for creative people. Tools for gamers to create their own universe (Spore), tools for professional artists to craft beautiful characters (Pixar), tools for education (Teal Labs) etc. Early on, I learned that the most important thing is to get your own tools right. Evaluate and improve your workflow constantly. Huge thanks to @AndrewWillmott for being an amazing mentor who showed me this and so much more. Which brings us to…

2. Seek a good mentor, be a good mentor

People who think deeply but communicate simply tend to be good mentors. Other kinds of mentors guide you through their work, instead of their words. Regardless of their style, good mentors make all the difference. While receiving mentorship is key early on, paying it back by guiding others is equally rewarding later in your career.

3. “When it’s ready” is the best deadline

I learned a lot from the production cycle of Spore because we got one half of the product right and the other half wrong. The Creature Editor in Spore is a great example of investing tremendously in a product till it’s ready. The game part of Spore, however, was presented too early (and too well). Then, the longer we took to finish it, the more deadline-oriented it got. Ultimately quality suffered. My learning: Deadlines should be kept simple — show something in private user tests every X weeks. Then focus on scope and quality and do a public beta when it’s ready leading up to product release.

In 2009 I joined Pixar after a rather grueling interview process. I was put in charge of a 16 year old application, written in an obscure programming language. 50 artists hated it but used it as their primary tool to shade all the characters and sets on all the movies in production. No engineers wanted to work on this thing. Welcome to Pixar!

1. Document your journey

Having a reasonable portfolio of work displayed on my website has opened doors for me time and again. My Pixar interviews went terribly. Most of the team didn’t think I had the chops for the job. But the leader of the engineering group — Bill Polson had seen my website. Apparently he was the only one who had. So he called everyone into a room, put the site up on the screen and said “This guy has done more computer graphics than a lot of you in this room combined” — he was exaggerating, but his point was well taken and I got a shot! A few months into the job, a number of folks came by and told me the story of how they had rejected me in interviews but were very glad to be wrong. Phew!

2. Eat your own dog food

Don’t just sit in your own chair. Visit people in departments downstream or upstream from yours and try to do their job. If you become your client you will be able to deploy your vision as if it was the client’s idea all along. At Pixar, I was able to reform the entire shading pipeline across a period of 2 years while 50 artists used it daily without disruption. Like any good method actor I took it too far and eventually gave up my software engineer role to become a shading artist working on characters and sets using the tool I once maintained.

3. Do different things, don’t be afraid to start from zero

I feel the most fulfilled when I’m learning tons of new stuff. Bill Polson once said to me — “If you’re going to work somewhere for 5 years, make sure it’s not the same year repeated 5 times”. I live by that. You don’t need to “be an artist” to make good art or “be a programmer” to develop great software. Put your ego away and try new things. I went from being a tools engineer to a character and sets artist at Pixar. The transitions were tough and not necessarily smart career moves but the personal growth was immense.

I learned so many amazing things at Pixar that I could write a book. Luckily my hero and Pixar president Ed Catmull already did — Read Creativity Inc.

Lumos Labs (Lumosity)

Lumos Labs is based in this historic San Francisco building. I took this picture on one of our daily bubble-tea breaks.

In grad school, I co-founded the Experimental Gameplay Project (EGP). We made 50 game prototypes in one semester and had the best time ever. I was always looking for a job version of the EGP. In 2014, I discovered Lumosity and immediately wanted to work there EGP-style.

1. Separate makers from fakers

This learning is for interviewers and managers trying to hire candidates that are a great fit. Lumos Labs sent me a design document and asked me to build a game using only HTML and JS. I had about 6–8 hours to do it. During in-person interviews I was asked to make lots of modifications to my game. They do similar tests for all the roles they hire for. Build something, then modify and defend it — so much more effective than typical interviews!

2. Challenge your ethos

Lumosity prides itself on the scientific research they put into their games. I can tell you it’s not a marketing gimmick, though the FTC thought so. At Lumos they take the science stuff so seriously that we could barely get any games approved by the Science Team. This was a problem because our customers wanted more games, different kinds of games and were using the product to have fun. Whether games make you smart or not, the truth is people practice because it feels good to work out your brain. And in my opinion, by not providing lots of new stuff regularly, we lost a lot of players to the competition. Sometimes we make the mistake of implicitly following what has worked before and get too close to our ethos to challenge it.

3. The whole can be greater than sum of its parts

To me, Lumosity’s greatest achievement is showing that a subscription based product made entirely out of mini-games can be a huge success. When a number of small projects serve a common theme they can really turn into something very deep and meaningful even if each project itself is relatively shallow. As a fan of quick and small projects, this gives me great hope.

Getting mobbed by kids!

I’ve always been very interested in educational technology. So I spent 2016 working closely with a K-12 school. My team and I deployed iPads for 350 students and 5o teachers, created custom apps and came away with tons of learnings about learning itself!

1. Surround yourself with your audience

At Teal Labs I insisted that our office be inside the school we were working with. So we sat in a room behind the library where we welcomed invasions by kids during recess. I also made it compulsory for my team to take classes or co-teach at least once a week. This helped us make relevant and engaging products and improve upon them in a tight feedback loop.

2. Give students tools to produce content

We invest so much in giving fantastic content to students on a plate. They eat it up voraciously, but it doesn’t translate into skills and knowledge. It just turns kids into content-addicts expecting easy content all the time. On the other hand, if a child is asked to research and teach a topic or create a report on it, the retention of learning is much higher. Teaching is the best learning, as they say. My Teal Labs experience taught me that educational technology should be about engaging tools for students to create, teach, perform and present. Then, as Will Wright would say, “get out of the way and watch them go!”. “Tools to produce content” is also the answer to — What role should VR/AR have in education?

3. Education and Entertainment are the same thing

The best learning experiences are so fun, that you lose track of time. The best entertainment experiences are so transformative that you end up growing and learning something about yourself. Engagement is a key ingredient to both education and entertainment. In the classroom we found that engagement comes from meaningful social interactions with other students- discussions, performances, collaboration and competition. We built an asynchronous multiplayer game for 350 students. The game was about capturing territory in a common world by doing math problems. Each student collaborated with everyone in her class but competed with students from other classes. We saw 40x more participation in math as a result!

I have no idea what I’m doing, but it’s fun

After being lulled by the sweet embrace of gainful employment for 12 years, I finally made the jump into full time independent development. I am making my own games right now because it’s my favorite thing to do and I want my kids to grow up and play 10 awesome things that their papa made.

1. Business is a crazy emotional roller-coaster

Being your own boss is the best! There is nothing more exhilarating than people buying and appreciating a product that is all your own. But there is nothing more depressing than not being able to reach those people. My first game Word Mess has 603,143 downloads (in 5 years) and I have cheered each one of them like I cheered Toy Story 3 winning an Oscar. My recent app Text Mess, on the other hand, has only been downloaded a 100 times in its first 10 days and I feel like jumping off of a bridge :P Hopefully I can learn to trust the process and be cooler about the ups and downs.

2. Clearly define what risk and success mean to you

You can succeed without any major risks if you plan smartly, execute patiently and course correct regularly. It comes down to how you calculate risk and define success. Success for me is financial independence and 100% ownership of my work. To me, risk is when uncertainty can’t be bounded within a small ok-to-fail region of tolerance. In other words, I don’t like risk :) That’s why I’ve patiently saved and learned for 12 years before venturing out on my own. What do risk and success mean to you?

3. Find a good bouncing wall

You are too close to your work. Find a good bullshit detector who will tell you like it is. Ideally, they are also part of (or understand) your target audience. In my case, my wife usually plays this role. She is brutally honest (sometimes too brutal) about the stuff I make. Build a group of early-feedback providers like it’s Pixar’s Brain Trust.

Henry Cavill will longer play Superman due to contract negotiations with Warner Bros. falling apart.

Scheduling conflicts are apparently Henry Cavill’s kryptonite.

Henry Cavill is hanging up his cape and giving up the role of man of steel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The decision reportedly came after contract negotiations with Warner Bros. fell apart.

Henry was in talks to make a cameo as Superman in the upcoming Shazam! Movie, set for an April 2019 release. But after scheduling conflicts got in the way of that appearance, it was ultimately decided that Henry will no longer be the DC Cinematic Universe’s Superman.

But the decision probably wasn’t just because of contract negotiations breaking down. According to one insider, the studio is currently focusing on doing a Supergirl origin story starring a teen Supergirl, which would call for a younger actor playing Superman. The source explained QUOTE, “Superman is like James Bond, and after a certain run you have to look at new actors.”

Henry first appeared as Superman in the 2013 film, Man of Steel, and reprised the role in 2016’s ‘Batman v. Superman’, and again in last year’s ‘Justice League.’ As far as another standalone Superman movie goes, Warner Bros. probably wouldn’t start production on that for another few years, which also supports the idea that the company is looking to reboot the character with a younger actor.

There have also been rumors that Warners is trying to steer their entire DC universe in a new direction, and essentially hit the “reset” button on the whole brand. Except for Wonder Woman, of course — because as we all know, she’s flawless and untouchable.

So how are we gonna get our Henry fix now that he’s no longer Superman? Don’t worry, because it was recently announced that the British actor will play the lead in the upcoming Netflix series, ‘The Witcher’. There’s no official word on when the show will be released, but until then we’ll just have to rewatch Henry as Superman in the three films he graced us with. Let’s just say you won’t hear us complaining about that.

If you’re a diehard Swiftie, chances are you know exactly what’s gone down at each and every one of Taylor Swift’s Reputation tour dates thus far, but just in case you somehow missed it, Tay’s shows in Philadelphia over the weekend have generated a TON of buzz, and here’s why!

In the middle of her show on Saturday night at Lincoln Financial Field, Taylor’s set malfunctioned while she was suspended in a basket in mid-air. Instead of trying to hide the mishap like many other pop stars, Taylor kept it real with her fans, and she even slipped a few extra songs in while the stage crew tried to figure out exactly what was wrong.

Eventually, Taylor wound up getting in a different cage, which took her to another stage at the back of the arena, and while the malfunction came as quite a surprise, it actually wasn’t the only surprise of the weekend!

That’s right, you guys! At Taylor’s concert the night before, which was also in Philly, a couple got engaged right in front of Tay’s eyes at her meet-and-greet! Obviously, Taylor took to Instagram to share the news with her millions of followers and she even captioned the photo saying, QUOTE, “They walk into the meet and greet and he says “We met 5 years ago at the Red Tour’” She also included the hashtag, #thirdwheel. Too relatable!

As we all know, proposals normally take a ton of preparation, but actually, this adorable couple was chosen at random to meet Taylor at the show, which meant that it was a big surprise not only for the bride-to-be, but for Taylor, too!

More Celebrity News ►► As you are probably WELL aware, Justin Bieber proposed to Hailey Baldwin this past weekend while they were on vacation in the Bahamas.

When they landed back in New York City, Hailey and her brand new engagement ring were photographed at the airport. Obviously it’s stunning and pretty dang large, but apparently it still needed some adjustments.

The couple almost immediately headed to Pristine Jewelers to get Hailey’s ring resized and to add a few extra stones. Pristine Jewelers is known for their work with celebrity clients like Cardi B, DJ Khaled, and Bella Thorne.

But she didn’t just finesse the engagement ring, Hailey also reportedly bought Justin his very own diamond encrusted engagement ring with his initials on it. She also bought a custom made diamond ring for herself with the word ‘Baby’ on it. A nod to Justin’s breakout hit or just a word she likes? We’ll never know… or we might if she says anything about it, but that’s pretty doubtful.

Justin also apparently bought a 33 carat diamond watch while he was there. Treat yourself!

According to TMZ they were being real cute playing hide and seek in the store and Justin was photographed even giving Hailey a shoulder massage while they waited.
