#it tastes like spicy cough medicine

companions react to sole being really sick but insisting to work anyways. they literally won’t sit down and they’re probably gonna fall out in a few minutes if they don’t
Companions react to Sick Sole that is In Denial
Aka the prompt that called high-school me tf out
Cait; Wrestles them into bed, hunts for cough syrup, force feeds. By wrestle, I mean "gently pushes until they fall over." Gives them alcohol and keeps away. Cait doesn't often get sick, but when she does, oh boy...Sole would never hear the end of it if she caught their shit. Will find spicy snacks for them to eat, to accommodate their lost sense of taste. Because Cait cares like that.
Codsworth; Absolutely not. Will use as colorful language as he can stomach to convince Sole to retire for a bit. Follows them around Sanctuary throwing a hissy-fit. Well...as much as Codsworth can throw a fit. Gets increasingly indignant. If Sole passes out before he can shepard them back home, he will consider duct-taping them to their bed, just for safety. He makes them soup and hand/claw-feeds them. Good luck sleeping with three robot eyes watching you like a hawk.
Curie; Pesters. Following them around with a rollup mattress for when they inevitably collapse. Recites a monolog about wellness and self care until they do. Very cross. Sole thinks they're hallucinating, seeing her glare and scold them. Makes their medicine herself; doesnt trust wasteland 'doctors' enough, and worries about such old, Pre-war medicine. Might start sticking things up their nose, or something, for samples.
Danse; A soldier refusing to seek attention and rest is not going to last long. He will also manhandle them, but not until they're already falling over. Makes a nasty ass...tea thing, that's great for colds/flus. Its. So. Gross. Danse knows how to make it because he himself refuses to stop working for sick rest. Hypocrite. If on the field, will personally tend to them. If not, leaves it to Cade, or any other doctor. Pesters said doctor enough he might get a clipboard thrown at him.
Deacon; Makes a similar, nastier tea thing. Spikes it with soda. Not to make it taste better. The soda is punishment to remind himself to never get sick again because it makes it fucking demonic. It makes Sole throw up and the force knocks them out. Rolls them up in a blanket burrito, raids the nearest pharmacy, and prepares a disguise. When Sole awakes, 50/50 chance they'll recognize its him.
Gage; What, is he their fucking mom? If they want to crack their head open passing out, that's their idiot choice to make. Except no it isn't, because he needs them alive, so Gage bitches the whole time, but he drags them kicking and screaming to bed. Throws medicine at them and tells them to quit being a baby. He's not getting too close to them right now. Hell. No. Also a baby himself about getting sick.
Hancock; Hancock isn't the type to tell someone how to handle themselves. He'll privately worry, and maybe hint that they should take a damn break, but until it gets bad enough they're half-way down to the floor, its not his business. When they're faceplanting, he'll step in. Also gives them some booze. He'll try to cook for them, but...uh. Chips and soda is good for colds, right? Right? [SOUNDS OF CURIE SCREAMING IN THE DISTANCE]
MacCready; Lucy was a doctor. He's got this. Or so he thinks, right up until Sole refuses to acknowledge their own illness. Okay. Shi–uuucks. What did Lucy do when he was being stubborn? Uh...that's not appropriate with Sole...what if he—Sole...? Sole–! Oh. Okay. That works. Just has to drag them into bed now. Spends extra caps for the good medicine, and for once, makes proper food. Sole remembers learning that he knows how to make his own noodles during this incident. MacCready tells them they were hallucinating.
Nick; Stands straight, crosses his arms, looks at them expectantly. Just waits. Grabs them before their legs give out, hauls them up over a shoulder, and straight to the doc's. Doc says bed, Sole is in bed. While they're out of commission for the week, plans out his lecture. It's not healthy for the brain nor body to keep moving when everything is telling you to quit. He's sarcastically coddling.
Piper; Also guilty of trying to power through. Piper is also an opportunist, however, and the moment she sees their guard fall, sees a moment of weakness, she's shoving them into their bedroom. Sole barely notices the change of environment. Canned soup, crackers, tea...and because Piper is just the best, she'll make them a dessert she often makes for Nat. Rice pudding, tarberry shortcake, she's even made honey custard. Something sweet and easy on the stomach.
Preston; Like Codsworth, chases them down begging them to just go the fuck to bed. Grabs them by the scruff of their neck before they hit dirt. Like Nick, sasses them the whole time, even if he is doting on them like a fussy mom. Remember Cait and her spicy snacks? Preston throws whatever spices he has into their meals. Hope Sole has a high spice tolerance.
X6-88; Grabs and warps to the Institute. If the Institute is gone, grabs and drags them to a doctor. He could try tending to them, but similar to Hancock, you will quickly regret asking. It's better to just have him go get medicine. He's somewhat fascinated over the concept, though. Cousers rarely get sick. And the once or twice X6 was, it was just an irritated throat or a headache. Sole is melting and yet they're expected to recover. Fascinating.

I give you: a one-shot where all the RHPS characters just so happen to have the flu, because it's flu season anyways and I have no other ideas
-
“For the record,” Magenta groaned, grabbing a tissue, “this is not my fault.”
“And whose are you implying it is?!” Brad snapped back, taking probably his hundredth cough drop that day. “It's a virus. It doesn't matter who got sick first.”
“You're just defending your boyfriend.” Columbia teased half-heartedly, glancing at Frank. “He's the one who refused to admit he had a cold and got us all sick.”
“First of all, fuck you.” Frank spat. “Second of all, he's not my boyfriend. He's just a one-night stand I happen to be very fond of.”
“And the sky is purple.” Columbia smirked.
“Shut up.”
“Guys, Rocky can hear you!” Janet scolded, pointing to Rocky's crumpled figure next to her.
“Really? He looks like he's out cold to me.” Magenta rolled her eyes. “Who has the Tylenol?”
“I do.” Riffraff offered weakly, passing his sister the bottle. Magenta poured about 10 of them into her hand, swallowed them all in one go, and sighed.
“Magenta, you can't take that many!” Brad yelled. “You'll get sick!”
“I already am.” Magenta pointed out. “Either way, these things barely work on us. Your planet's medicine is weak as hell.”
“That doesn't mean you can't overdose!”
“Frank's taken 47 in the last hour and look at him, he's fine!”
“Yeah.” Frank nodded firmly, giving a weak thumbs up. “I'm fine.”
“I'm about to take 47 of them myself if that's what it takes to make you all shut up!” Columbia pouted, clutching a stuffed animal. “Some of us are trying to sleep away the pain.”
“It's not my fault you didn't want to take a cough drop for your throat, Columbia!” Magenta snapped.
“They taste awful! They're spicy!” Columbia responded, groaning and flopping back down into her mountain of blankets.
“In her defense, Rocky didn't like them either.” Janet said quietly. “Want me to go to the store and get the little kids’ lollipop ones?”
“Yes, please…” Columbia pleaded. “And get me a Dr. Pepper.”
“You know what? Why not.” Janet stood up. “I'll be back soon.”
“Good, take your time.” Frank murmured sleepily, cuddling up in between Brad and Columbia.
“And get more melatonin- Frank took it all.” Brad yawned, draping an arm around Frank.
“I'm royalty. My comfort must be ensured first.” Frank protested.
“Yeah, you're a royal alright. A royal pain in the ass.” Riffraff hissed.
“Just go to bed, you worthless rat.” Frank responded, turning to bury his head in Brad's chest.
“Guys, stop. You're annoying.” Magenta complained. “And I have a headache.”

I had the opportunity to try Gillian's g-spot drinks while I was in England and so I did.
I promised myself that I would go into it unbiased and judge it fairly. Disclaimer: We all like different things! Me reviewing the flavors is just how I see (read: taste) them. My control group was my friend who tried each flavor as well.
Read my thoughts under the cut!
All three beverages are based on sparkling water and apple juice. Each has a different blend of herbal extracts. Now, I'm no expert, but for the most part, those other ingredients are used in very small doses. So really, in order for the nootropics and adaptogens to have any effect, you would have to drink more than one or two cans per day - and over a longer period as well.
The brand says that they "lie somewhere between a purist health drink that claims to change your life, and a mainstream soda brand that wants you hooked." That is one hell of a claim. Personally, I'm not sure how mainstream a beverage that costs £3,50 per can (0,33 l) can be.
The first one I tried was "Soothe". It's supposed to "calm your mind", according to the can, and has magnesium, maca, reishi, and ashwagandha as its ingredients. I had no idea what to expect and I can say in all honesty, I did not like the taste at all. My friend said it tastes like drinking medicine. To me, it tastes like sparkling cough syrup. It's because of the sage but also the slightly woody and bitter taste of the reishi.
Now let's move on to my taste test:
My next one was "Protect". That one uses ginger, turmeric, chaga and peppercorn, which I must admit sounded interesting to me. Well. What can I say? It tasted way better than "Soothe", but you must absolutely like the taste of ginger. My friend doesn't and said this one tastes even more like medicine.
The aftertaste was the worst. It would just not go away. I don't know if sage as a cure for anything related to colds and coughs is a German thing and that's we reacted so strongly to it. Anyway, I liked this one so little that I didn't dare to try the next one for another two days.
I saved the best for last: "Lift". From the few things I've read online, most people seemed to prefer this one. The ingredients here include bacopa, theanine, cordyceps, and lion's mane in addition to berries and peppercorn. I really liked this one because it's actually refreshing.
The aftertaste is not as insistent and quite nice with the gentle spiciness of the peppercorn and the turmeric. As I kept drinking it, I understood what my friend meant by saying it tastes like medicine though. Drinking the whole can was a struggle because the ingredients just get too much at some point.
Like "Protect", it's a bit spicy, but it works way better here with the berries. Though I must admit that I couldn't really taste the berries as well as I would have liked. As much as I liked this one, it's not something I would want to drink daily. Like the other flavors, this one, too, has several ingredients that taste bitter and/or earthy, like bacopa and lion's mane. It's just not my thing. My friend agreed that this was the best one, but she was like, one sip of this is enough.
Conclusion:
Oooof. I speculated with a friend (not the one who did the tasting with me!) what these would taste like and we originally thought it would taste like sparkling apple juice with some flavor. I don't know if it's a thing anywhere else, but Apfelschorle (sparkling apple juice) is a huge deal here and really, really tasty.
I didn't expect the bitterness and earthiness to be so prominent in the taste, to be honest. All in all, I expected more from these drinks- Especially at that price. None of these were so good that I was like, I want more. Maybe they are good for my health - though that's quite a claim - but so is water. And maybe the sparkling, flavored water you can buy at Tesco, Asda and Sainsbury's isn't as healthy (but it might be?), but it tastes much better. It's way cheaper, too.
All that aside, I'm still not sure what to think of the whole brand and the idea behind it. One thing, in particular, I'm missing is information about how the ingredients are sourced. Cordyceps, Lion's Mane, Reishi, etc. aren't exactly ingredients you can get everywhere.
Anyway, that's it from me!
#how to tag this#my taste test#i tried to like it okay?#like i didn't have anything to drink at home before i went shopping earlier#i chose tap water over the g-spot drinks#other people might like it!#this is just my opinion

Last post was about tasting materia and I had some thoughts about it.
•fire- spicy and warm to the touch
●hp up- cough medicine
●thunder- no taste, but gives the sensation of pop rocks
●ice- you don't have to put this one in your mouth, you'll know by how cold it is
●summons- do not taste these. Ask them nicely
i think if you broke materia open theyd have that juice inside like fruit gushers

hai ariiiiii :3 guess whos SICK . me . im sick
ANYWAY thinking abt sugubooboo taking care of u while sick ,,,,,,,,
u kno when u get that feeling ur gonna b sick in the morning the night b4 it all hits ? i think sugu picks up on that after u blow ur nose one 2 many times n he asks if ur okay
ur not. obviously . so he heats up some nice peppermint tea, and something my mom does when im sick is take some honey, mix it w ginger powder + some other stuff thats good 4 ur throat and make me eat a spoonful of it [its gross as HELLLL i hate it but i feel a lil better afterwards] then tucks u in2 bed [later after uve fallen asleep he calls out of work for tomorrow, he REFUSES to leave u alone + sick]
the next morning ur properly Sick and suguru wakes u up w breakfast in bed, all warm foods infused with clove, mint, ginger, and sets a few packs of tissues next 2 the bed
after uve eaten he lays in bed w u 4 a bit, kissing your head and fiddling w ur hands. eventually u ask abt work, he said he called out 4 both u n him.
he trusts u 2 take a shower on ur own, but when u get out hes holding a towel and wraps u in it immediately then just hovers around u as u do ur morning routine, making sure youre okay n not abt 2 like . pass out or smthn
once ur dressed and fully cocooned in the bed once again, suguru pours out some cold medicine 4 u and hands u water once that NASTY liquid slides down ur throat. he gives u a lil candy as a palate cleanser tho, hes not mean
i think after that u just fall in and out of sleep 4 teh rest of the day until u get hungry again or need another dose of medicine. sometimes u wake up 2 suguru humming and playing w ur hair while he reads a book, sometimes he joins u and takes a nap w u. the only time u wake up alone is when its lunch or dinner n hes in the kitchen making smthn spicy 2 open ur sinuses
everytime u take a dose of medicine, he kisses you on the lips then pushes a glass of water in one hand n some candy in the other. hed probably mumble 'good job' or smthn like that in2 the top of ur head as he cuddles u while ur trying 2 get the taste out of ur mouth
he does NOT care if u sneeze n get snot all over him, puke on him if u have a stomach bug, cough in his face, or r generally disheveled. u could never disgust him.
if its sunny out, hell offer 2 take u outside just 4 a lil bit. if u dont think u can walk hes gonna pick u up. no complaining u NEED that sun, hell argue while sliding the patio door open
youll sit out 4 a bit, soaking up the sunshine then when u want 2 go back 2 bed hell carry u back and gently tuck u in2 bed
if ur 2 weak 2 even blow ur nose, hes holding the tissue 2 ur nose n waiting 4 u 2 blow. the chapstick might b all the way across the room n ur savior ends up being suguru and his long legs. the temp in the house is 2 hot? hes turning the a/c down and all the fans r coming 2 ur room bcuz he knows how slow the heating n cooling takes 2 change.
also everytime he walks in2 the room, hes asking how r u? do u need anything? does anything hurt too much? and he probably has smthn 4 u 2 do so ur not on ur phone all day [guess . guess who was on their phone all day . ME]
at the very end of the day, hes got u curled up in his lap on the bed, INCREDIBLY comfortable, and theres some movie on the tv in the bedroom. like juno or some other feel good indie movie. sugurus just kissing u everywhere on ur face and clutching u tight 2 him because u got super clingy after he had 2 run out 4 last minute groceries. since its past dinner time, he gives u lil candied ginger pieces 2 help w ur throat n other snacks 2 go w the movie.
eventually u fall asleep in his arms in the middle of the movie, smothered in warmth on all sides.
OKAY . WOW . moving on, HOW WAS UR DAY ARI ??? tell me abt that book ur reading rn !! u seem very enthusiastic abt it, id luv 2 know y ^_^ ! [personally my day was . ouchie . and ive got a book abt decolonialism checked out from the library rn :3]

my muses except i assign them to loose leaf tea flavors i currently have in my house
please read my posts about tea i have kind of what my detractors might call an obsession.
apple cinnamon french toast - currently my second favorite tea. delightfully sweet and bold, has a strong smell and a rich taste. i would assign this tea to roland fortis!
savannah sunrise - citrusy but not too strong, a very clear and vibrant tasting tea. it's new to me so i haven't had much of it. i would assign this tea to ty lee!
lavender raspberry honeybush - a very subtle but rich fruity tea, easy to brew and drink at any temperature. i would assign this tea to cahir mawr dyffryn aep ceallach!
blue lady grey - very strong and unique tasting, sort of not what you expect upon seeing it but a very memorable tea. i would assign this tea to roy mayrana!
tangerine ginger - extremely flavorful but VERY heavy on the ginger flavor. if i drink it in the wrong mood it feels sort of like i'm being attacked but i actually like the way it looks and smells a lot. i would assign this tea to stella!
peach ginger detox gold - actually very good, has a more muted flavor than you'd think but the low brewing temperature means it's easier to drink fast. the ginger is also not noticeable in here. i would assign this tea to pleasant clemens!
pacific peppermint - smells almost exactly like a candy cane. tastes like a very muted candy cane. actually very good for a dessert or afternoon tea in my opinion. i would assign this tea to aurilis ayeva!
earl grey supreme - a plain tea but actually quite good as far as earl grey goes (i am an earl grey fan though). i would give this tea to mukuhara kazui.
decaf earl grey - i didn't honestly like this one that much, it was bland and taking away the caffeine is kind of detracting from earl grey in general ... i would assign this tea to vernon roche! because that man does not need to be more wired than he already is all of the time.
caramel toffee pu-erh - a VERY sweet tea with a very long brew time, but i really enjoy it as a dessert. i would assign this tea to luminous!
white cherry - it smells exactly like cough syrup. the taste is fine but i can't get over the cough syrup thing. i would assign this tea to five pebbles to help with his rot. feel better soon five pebbles!
apricot white - a VERY very good and light white tea, it's very appealing to look at and very nice to drink. i've been debating ordering some more of this. i would assign this tea to dandelion!
chocolate covered strawberries - it was alright. it actually didn't stick out to me really at all. i would assign this tea to benjamin clemens!
pomegranate green tea - a very strong tea, the pomegranate flavor really comes out and i usually drink this before my friday dnd! for that reason and because it looks a lot like blood i'm going to assign this tea to cyran azerrad kapral!
elderberry fortress herbal tea - it's a good tea and one of the only actual medicinal teas i have in the house. genuinely like it, but we save this for when we have sore throats or allergies. i would assign this to ankita culathene!
houjicha - a VERY VERY VERY good japanese green tea. my favorite tea we currently have. it's moderately sweet and nutty and amazing and i drink it almost every sunday night before bed. i would assign this tea to yanna lazaros!
moringa tulsi - why is it spicy ................ i would assign this tea to jet!
international breakfast tea - my best friend. he's like a brother to me. very plain and slightly bitter but i drink this tea every morning for breakfast. i have an industrial sized bag of this tea so i can drink it every morning for breakfast. very high in caffeine. i would assign this tea to shirogane kei!

Dalamushroom tea
Dalamus' favorite tea is one which Nilaufein often made for him, and when he was old enough, taught him how to make for himself. The flavor is savory and bitter with a slight kick of dark spice. Making it with powdered ingredients strengthens the flavor and the effects.
To those unused to it, it tastes a bit like medicine and has the benefits to match, but to Dalamus it tastes like home.
Ingredients:
5 cups of water
1 Tablespoon dried/powdered Dragon Egg mushrooms
1/2 Tablespoon dried/powdered Rogue's Morsel mushrooms
1/4 Tablespoon dried/powdered Funguswood mushrooms
(Optional) Honey, to taste
Grind dried ingredients together into a powder.
Add powdered ingredients to pot.
Pour water into pot.
Bring mixture to a boil, then allow it to simmer.
Let simmer for 1 hour. The longer it simmers, the more bitter it will become.
Take off heat, pour, and enjoy.
Dragon's Egg gives the tea a smoothness and allows hot tea to be enjoyed without risk of burns. Has a subtle spicy-sweet tone like cloves.
Rogue's Morsel makes the tea invigorating, having anti-inflammatory properties and offering a small boost to energy. It adds a bitter, earthy flavor which can overpower if not careful, like chaga mushrooms.
Funguswood also has an anti-inflammatory effect, and aids in digestion to make the tea easier to stomach. Adds a kick of mild spice and a small amount of sweetness, like ginger.
Honey, if added, is an immune system booster and lessens the symptoms of sore throat or coughing. Adds a sweetness to help offset bitterness caused by other ingredients.
#he would kill me for that title#strighym headcanons#i have no idea if this is a viable tea to make btw so i.... dont suggest making it unless you've the stomach for it to go wrong kjshdfg#originally the funguswood ingredient WAS just ginger but i changed it#because in an early ask dal said he liked adding funguswood powder for a kick to his tea

kulan cafe
🇸🇴 somali
📍 skyline aka build america plaza in bailey's crossroads, falls church, virginia
📅 dinner; July 2023. 1st time
😋 overall: I literally have no metric for somali food but since it's the only one of its kind in the area, I hope it sticks around. I love getting surprise sides, and they know how to season their damn meat!!!! I'd come back in a heartbeat.
more food pix + detailed review under the cut!
🍵 not pictured is the tea we ordered, 1 cup each. it came out PIPING HOT so we had to wait a bit, but it was so wonderfully spiced (cardamom?). sweet too, but a little too sweet that it got a little cloying once it cooled down. at room temp, all the spices made it taste a little medicinal; reminded me of a natural cough syrup or something. I'd order it again but drink it while it's still hot.
🍚🐔 rice w/ chicken suqar - this was my fav dish! the chicken was soooo tender and well-spiced (not much else you can say about it when you can't identify spices that well lmfao all I know is that i loved every bite). the rice took up half the plate and then some! I loved that it came with raisins; it reminds me of afghan pulao.
I would SO get this again!!!!!!
🥗 didn't take a separate photo of the salad that came with this dish but it was pretty good. I liked taking bites of it in between these heavier meat dishes. the vinaigrette helped lift it! I'd get it again.
it reminds me of the side of salad that kabob places usually include. I wonder if salads are a western influence and what kinds of vegetables are native to Somalia.
🫓🐑 sabaya w/ lamb - it's always a gamble getting lamb or goat from restaurants but I'm so glad I did cos this lamb wasn't dry whatsoever and I loooved the spice rub on it. there were some chewy parts that I had to spit out but it was prob tendon so that's to be expected.
also I was drooling the moment I saw them bring out this plate cos the flatbread looked sooo flaky BUT it ended up being chewy and dry af 😔 it was difficult to pull apart 😢😢😢 I'm genuinely so sad about this cos it prevented this whole meal from being a solid 10
I wouldn't get a dish with sabaya again. I'd have a dish with lamb again tho! maybe I'll try their pasta next time.
🥘 unknown side that has potatoes, peas, and ??? - lol right after the cashier/server brought out the sabaya w/ lamb, he was like "I'm not done!!!" and brought out THIS DISH. and then he was like "NOW the dish is complete." thank god he did cos that sabaya needed moisture... badly
didn't even know that the dish even had sides so i'm not sure how to get it again... but I definitely want it again. I love tasting a delicious spice combination for the first time 🥰
they brought this out a little late into the meal but they also gave us a bowl of their house-made hot sauce, which was made of jalapenos. it wasn't that spicy (tbf the server told us that as he put it down) but its freshness helped lift some items.
-----
💲 price - $17-$20 for each plate, which I think is fair given the generous portion sizes. definitely stuffed 2 people, with some food left over (mostly carbs haha)
🗒️ other notes - it didn't taste salty or anything while I was eating but once I got home, i was SO THIRSTY i downed half my water bottle like a whale. 🐋
anyway the cashier/server was really friendly to us. after he asked us to rate the food, he made a point to tell us that everyone cooking this food is family and actually from somalia, not like "other restaurants" (who most likely have latino people working in the back).
this plaza feels like the ethiopian version of eden center. hoping i'm not cursing the place as I write this but I wonder when fairfax county will start drooling over the land as ripe for redevelopment and ethiopians will have to organise for anti-gentrification like viet folks are rn (if you're reading this, follow viet place collective)

New Items
Below is a list of new items and consumables present in the Pink Human AU. Names are listed, followed by their (inventory name)s during regular gameplay and their (serious name)s during more emotional battles. For gameplay purposes, HP and flavour text info are listed.
1. Pancakes (P. Cakes)/(Pancakes) -> the Ruins. Made by the Pink Human the morning they leave the Ruins, it's part of the meal they pack to take with them on their long journey. The maple syrup came from the tree in front of Toriel's home. "A small stack of pancakes with home made maple syrup." If eaten: "You ate the pancakes." Heals 14 HP.
2. Fire Fries (Fires)/(Fries) -> taken from Grillby's after Sans leaves. Don't wanna waste food someone else paid for, right? "Fries with just the right amount of salt." If eaten: "Cold. And soggy. Nobody likes cold fire." Heals 5 HP. If eaten in Hotland: "Finally, warm again. Much better." Heals 17 HP.
3. Chocolate Chip Cookies (ChocCook)/(Cookie) -> Snowed Inn. The bunny shopkeep makes cinnamon bunnies, but her sister makes chocolate chip cookies. The little bunny at the counter will give you one for breakfast if you stay the whole night. "A chocolate chip cookie in the shape of a bunny." If eaten: "Somehow, it's still warm and soft. Must be made with love." Heals MAX HP.
4. Corn Dogs (CornDog)/(Corn Dog) -> Sans in Hotland. Inspired by the Pink Human's love of pancakes, they're real sausages dipped and fried in pancake batter (in contrast to Sans' usual water sausages). "A sausage fried in batter. Good for breakfast." If eaten: "Insert corny joke here." Heals 19 HP.
5. Snail Pie (SnailPie)/(Snail Pie) -> Toriel, the Ruins. The Pink Human protag likes snail Pie. Hey, it's not as bad as you might think. They even helped Toriel make it. Part of the meal the Pink Human packs before leaving the Ruins. "You've acquired the taste." If eaten: "Tastes like Home." Heals MAX HP -1.
6. Gingerbread (G.Bread)/(G.Bread) -> Toriel, the Ruins. Toriel has cutouts of gingerbread monsters. Might as well use them! Part of the meal the Pink Human packs before leaving the Ruins. "Gingerbread monsters of all kinds." If eaten: "Loox burnt." In battle: "Spicy. Your defense increased." Heals 12 HP.
7. Milk (Milk)/(Milk) -> Grillby's. Papyrus orders milk there all the time according to the monsters sitting at the bar. Grillby won't touch the water, but he'll give you some milk to go with your food. "A glass of milk. Good for bones." If eaten: "Get the calcium." Heals 18 HP.
8. Chocolate Bar (ChocBar)/(ChocBar) -> Toriel, the Ruins. Toriel kept it to remind them of someone she loved. Better to give it to someone who is alive to enjoy it. "A name-brand chocolate bar." If eaten: "Hmm...chocolate." Heals MAX HP.
9. Hot Cocoa (HotChoc)/(Cocoa) -> Snowed Inn. Part of a balanced complimentary breakfast. A reference to the bunny who gives you cocoa in Deltarune and something nice to go with your chocolate chip cookie. "A mug of hot cocoa with bunny-shaped marshmallows." If eaten: "It's cold now. Still really good, though." Heals MAX HP.
10. Cherry Cola (CherCola)/(Soda) -> The True Lab vending machine. The vending machine has more than just popato chisps, it also has soda! Good flavour, too. "A can of cherry-flavoured soda. The expiration date is faded." If eaten: "You drank the soda. Tastes like cough medicine..." Heals 7 HP.
11. Candy cane (PepMint)/(CndyCane) -> Gyftrot in Snowdin. Found during the FIGHT with Gyftrot as part of the "decorations" put there by awful teens. Can be eaten to restore HP or given back to the Mouse Man it belongs to. "Someone's red-and-white striped cane." If eaten: "Tastes like peppermint and pranks." Heals 13 HP.
12. Flower Tea (FlwrTea)/(GoldTea) -> Undyne's house. It's an extra cup of tea given to the Pink Human after they finish their first cup. They keep it in a dimensional box for later, since Undyne gets...a little distracted. You know. With burning the house down. "A cup of golden flower tea. Smells sweet." If eaten: "You drank the golden flower tea." In battle with Asgore: "The smell reminds Asgore of something. His attacks become slower." Heals 8 HP.
13. Ghost Fruit (GhostFrut)/(GhstFruit) -> given by Napstablook in place of a ghost sandwich as a "healthier option". Surprisingly corporeal, it makes a spooky sound when eaten. "If eaten, it will never pass to the other side." If eaten: "You ate the Ghost Fruit. You feel...spooky." Heals 16 HP.
14. Rock...Candy? (RockCandy)/(Rock) -> It's not even an item, it's just a rock from The Ruins. It's also pretty heavy...a little too heavy to carry, actually. It's only with the Pink Human for two rooms before they decide to leave it. It'll probably make you lose HP if you decide to eat it. "Here is a recipe to make this at home: 1. Find a rock..." If eaten: "You ate the Rock Candy. Ouch." -1 HP.
15. Pumpkin Rings (PunkRings)/(PmknRings) -> The Ruins (Gourdin monster). Given to the Pink Human by Gourdin after a FIGHT instead of gold. "A small pumpkin cooked like onion rings." If eaten: "You ate the Pumpkin Rings." Heals 8 HP.
16. Puppydough (PpDough)/(PupDough) -> pint found in His/Hers dog stations. It's actually ice cream...it looks like there's a paw print in it. And...white hair. No chocolate. "Made by young pups." If eaten: "You hope that's shredded coconut." Heals 8 HP. In battle with the Royal Guard Dogs or Papyrus: "Mmm! Tastes like puppies." Heals 28 HP.
17. Croquet Roll (CroqtRoll)/(CroqtRoll) -> A ball of fried dough and potatoes found in the fridge during Mettaton's Cooking With a Killer Robot segment. "A ball of fried dough typically served with a mallet." If eaten: "You hit the Croquet Roll into your mouth." Heals 15 HP.
18. Stoic Onion (StocOnion)/(Onion) -> Waterfall. Given by Cepapod after a FIGHT instead of gold. "Even eating it raw, the tears just won't come." If eaten: "Surprisingly sweet under the tough exterior." In battle: "You ate the stoic onion. You didn't cry..." Heals 5 HP.
Now that we've gotten the consumables out of the way, there are only two more new items to list: the ones that belong to the Pink Human.
Each Human dropped items as they journeyed through the Underground on their way to Asgore. The ones the Pink Human carries with then are as follows:
1. DEF: Heart Necklace. "A silver chain holds a pink, stone heart wrapped in vines." The Heart Necklace's normal DEF value is (+5), but in battles with Toriel, Asgore, Flowey, and Asriel, it's value becomes (+10).
2. ATK: Pocket Knife. "A camping knife with a black hilt. Still sharp." It's ATK value is (+20) in all battles. It's a real knife, and it's only used when it has to be.

Dry ginger, also known as "shunthi" in Ayurveda, is a powerhouse of health benefits that has been used for centuries. It’s made by drying fresh ginger and grinding it into a fine powder. This humble spice is not only a staple in many kitchens but also a revered remedy in traditional medicine. Whether you're a health enthusiast or just someone looking to add a little spice to your life, dry ginger has something to offer. If you’re looking to explore these benefits further, an Ayurvedic hospital in Prayagraj can provide detailed insights and personalized treatments. Let’s dive into the health benefits of dry ginger and some easy, tasty recipes you will enjoy. What is Dry Ginger?
Dry ginger, simply fresh ginger that has been dried, is usually ground into a fine powder and used in cooking or for medicinal purposes. While fresh ginger is great, dry ginger has its own unique set of benefits. In Ayurvedic treatment centers in Prayagraj, dry ginger is often used for its digestive and warming properties, ideal for soothing a sore throat or aiding digestion when mixed with honey. Health Benefits of Dry Ginger
Boosts Digestion: Dry ginger is known to improve digestion. It helps in the secretion of digestive juices, making it easier for your body to break down food. If you ever feel bloated or have an upset stomach, a little dry ginger can work wonders.
Relieves Cold and Cough: Dry ginger has natural anti-inflammatory properties that can help soothe a sore throat, reduce coughing, and clear nasal congestion. It's a go-to remedy during the winter months or whenever you catch a cold.
Reduces Inflammation: Inflammation is a common underlying factor in many chronic diseases. Dry ginger contains powerful anti-inflammatory compounds called gingerols, which can help reduce inflammation and provide relief from conditions like arthritis.
Aids in Weight Loss: Dry ginger can help boost your metabolism, which in turn aids in weight loss. Consulting an Ayurvedic doctor in Prayagraj can provide personalized advice on incorporating dry ginger into your diet plan. It also helps in controlling your appetite, making it easier to stick to your diet plan.
Improves Immunity: Regular consumption of dry ginger can boost your immune system. It has antioxidants that fight off free radicals, protecting your body from various diseases.
Manages Blood Sugar Levels: For those managing diabetes, dry ginger can be a beneficial addition to the diet. It helps improve insulin sensitivity and can lower blood sugar levels, making it a natural way to help manage diabetes.
Tips for Using Dry Ginger
Storage: Keep dry ginger powder in an airtight container in a cool, dry place to maintain its potency and flavor. Avoid exposing it to moisture or sunlight.
Dosage: Start with small amounts, typically 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon per serving. Dry ginger is potent, so a little goes a long way. Adjust according to your taste and tolerance.
Cooking: Add dry ginger to soups, stews, and stir-fries for a warm, spicy flavor. It's excellent in marinades and spice rubs for meat and vegetables.
Health Remedies: Use dry ginger to relieve nausea and digestion issues. A pinch mixed with honey can soothe a sore throat or cough.
Delicious Dry Ginger Recipes 1. Dry Ginger Tea To make dry ginger tea, start by boiling a cup of water. Once the water is boiling, add a teaspoon of dry ginger powder. Allow the mixture to steep for about five minutes, letting the ginger infuse into the water. If you like, you can enhance the flavor by adding a teaspoon of honey and a splash of lemon juice. Naturopathy in Prayagraj often emphasizes such natural remedies for their health benefits. This tea is not only delicious but also great for relieving cold symptoms and aiding digestion. Enjoy it warm for the best results. 2. Dry Ginger Cookies For a tasty treat, try making dry ginger cookies. Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). In a medium bowl, mix together one cup of all-purpose flour, a teaspoon of dry ginger powder, half a teaspoon of baking soda, and a pinch of salt. In a separate larger bowl, cream half a cup of softened butter with half a cup of sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy. Beat in one egg, then gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, mixing until well combined. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them about two inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. These cookies are perfect for a quick snack or dessert, with a delightful ginger flavor that's both warm and spicy. 3. Dry Ginger Smoothie
A dry ginger smoothie is a refreshing and nutritious way to start your day. In a blender, combine one ripe banana, half a cup of Greek yogurt, half a cup of milk (or any milk alternative), a teaspoon of dry ginger powder, and a tablespoon of honey. For an extra boost of nutrients, you can also add a handful of spinach. Blend the ingredients until smooth and creamy. Pour the smoothie into a glass and enjoy immediately. The dry ginger adds a subtle kick to the sweetness of the banana and honey, making this smoothie both delicious and healthy. Conclusion Dry ginger is a versatile spice with numerous health benefits. It's easy to incorporate into your daily diet through simple recipes and tips. Whether you're looking to boost your digestion, relieve a cold, or improve your overall health, dry ginger, recommended by an Ayurvedic doctor in Prayagraj, is a fantastic addition to your kitchen. Pepper Market - Key Industry Dynamics, Analysis and Key Industry Dynamics
The global demand for Pepper was valued at USD 7514.2 million in 2023 and is expected to reach USD 9804.3 million in 2032, growing at a CAGR of 3.00% between 2024 and 2032.
The pepper market, encompassing both black and white pepper, is a vital segment of the global spice industry, characterized by its significant cultural, economic, and culinary importance. As one of the most widely traded spices, pepper has a long history dating back to ancient trade routes between Asia and Europe. The market is predominantly supplied by key producing countries such as Vietnam, India, Brazil, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka, with Vietnam being the largest exporter, contributing to over a third of the global supply. The demand for pepper is driven by its ubiquitous use in culinary applications worldwide, ranging from household cooking to food processing industries. Black pepper, derived from the dried unripe fruit of Piper nigrum, is more commonly consumed and known for its pungent flavor and aroma, whereas white pepper, made from the ripe fruit with the outer layer removed, is favored for its milder taste and aesthetic appeal in light-colored dishes.
The pepper market is influenced by several factors including climatic conditions, agricultural practices, pest infestations, and geopolitical dynamics. Climatic changes and extreme weather events can significantly impact pepper yields, leading to fluctuations in supply and prices. Additionally, the market faces challenges from pests and diseases such as the pepper wilt and the root-knot nematode, which can devastate crops if not properly managed. Sustainable agricultural practices and advancements in pest management are therefore crucial for maintaining stable production levels.
The trend has encouraged producers to adopt organic farming practices and obtain relevant certifications to meet the rising demand. Moreover, the pepper market is also experiencing a boost from the expanding global food industry, particularly the processed and convenience food sectors, which utilize pepper as a key ingredient for flavoring and preservation.
Pepper, both black and white, is a versatile spice with a wide range of uses that extend beyond culinary applications. Here are some of the primary uses of pepper:
Culinary Uses:
Flavoring: Pepper is a fundamental seasoning in cooking, enhancing the flavor of a wide variety of dishes. Black pepper adds heat and depth, while white pepper provides a milder, subtler spice, particularly useful in light-colored dishes like sauces and soups where black specks are undesirable.
Preservation: Historically, pepper has been used as a preservative due to its antimicrobial properties. It helps in extending the shelf life of foods, particularly meats and pickled products.
Marinades and Rubs: Pepper is a common ingredient in marinades and dry rubs for meats and vegetables, adding a spicy kick and enhancing the overall flavor profile.
Soups and Sauces: Pepper is a staple in many soup and sauce recipes, providing a warm, spicy undertone that complements other flavors.
Beverages: In some cultures, pepper is used in beverages. For example, it is a key ingredient in certain traditional teas and drinks like masala chai, and it's also used in trendy health drinks and cocktails.
Medicinal Uses:
Digestive Aid: Pepper stimulates the production of digestive juices and enzymes, aiding in digestion and improving nutrient absorption.
Anti-inflammatory Properties: Piperine, an active compound in pepper, has anti-inflammatory effects that can help reduce inflammation and pain.
Respiratory Relief: Pepper is sometimes used in traditional remedies to alleviate symptoms of colds, coughs, and respiratory issues, acting as an expectorant to clear the airways.
Antioxidant Benefits: The antioxidants in pepper help combat oxidative stress, which can reduce the risk of chronic diseases and support overall health.
Industrial Uses:
Essential Oils: Pepper is used to produce essential oils, which are utilized in aromatherapy, perfumes, and personal care products. These oils are valued for their invigorating and warming properties.
Pharmaceuticals: The bioactive compounds in pepper, particularly piperine, are used in the pharmaceutical industry to enhance the bioavailability of certain drugs and supplements.
Agricultural Uses:
Pest Repellent: Pepper is sometimes used in natural pest repellents. Its strong scent and taste can deter pests from gardens and crops.
Miscellaneous Uses:
Cleaning and Preservation: In some traditional practices, pepper is used for its preservative qualities in preserving artifacts and other materials.
Cultural and Ritualistic Uses: Pepper is used in various cultural rituals and traditional medicine practices around the world. It holds symbolic significance in some cultures and is used in ceremonies and offerings.
The pepper market faces several challenges that impact its stability and growth. Here are some of the key challenges:
Climatic and Environmental Factors
Climate Change: Extreme weather conditions such as droughts, floods, and unseasonal rains can adversely affect pepper cultivation, leading to reduced yields and fluctuating supply.
Soil Degradation: Continuous pepper cultivation without proper soil management practices can lead to soil degradation, affecting the productivity and quality of pepper crops.
Pests and Diseases
Pest Infestations: Pests such as the pepper weevil and root-knot nematode can cause significant damage to pepper plants, leading to decreased yields and increased costs for pest control.
Plant Diseases: Diseases like pepper wilt and anthracnose can devastate pepper crops if not managed properly, impacting both yield and quality.
Economic and Market Dynamics
Price Volatility: The pepper market is prone to price fluctuations due to changes in supply and demand, climatic conditions, and geopolitical factors. This volatility can affect the profitability of pepper farmers and traders.
Competition: Intense competition among producing countries and within the market can lead to price wars and reduced profit margins for producers.
Quality and Standards
Quality Control: Maintaining consistent quality standards is a challenge, especially for small-scale farmers. Issues like contamination, adulteration, and inconsistent quality can affect market reputation and consumer trust.
Compliance with Regulations: Meeting the stringent quality and safety standards set by importing countries, particularly in Europe and North America, requires significant investment in processing and quality control measures.
Sustainability Issues
Environmental Impact: The traditional methods of pepper farming can have negative environmental impacts, including deforestation and loss of biodiversity. There is growing pressure to adopt more sustainable farming practices.
Sustainable Practices: Transitioning to sustainable and organic farming practices can be costly and challenging for small-scale farmers, who may lack the resources and knowledge to implement such changes.
Supply Chain and Logistics
Supply Chain Disruptions: Factors such as transportation issues, political instability, and trade barriers can disrupt the supply chain, leading to delays and increased costs.
Storage and Preservation: Proper storage facilities are essential to maintain the quality of pepper during transit and storage. Inadequate storage can lead to spoilage and quality degradation.
Socio-Economic Factors
Farmer Livelihoods: Many pepper farmers, especially in developing countries, face socio-economic challenges such as low income, lack of access to finance, and inadequate infrastructure.
Labor Shortages: Labor shortages, particularly during peak harvest seasons, can affect the timely harvesting and processing of pepper, impacting overall productivity.
Technological Challenges
Adoption of Technology: Limited access to modern agricultural technology and practices can hinder productivity and efficiency in pepper farming. Small-scale farmers often struggle to adopt new technologies due to cost and lack of training.

Are Natural Remedies the Solution for Acidity? Explore Your Options
Are you tired of dealing with the discomfort of acidity? Experiencing a burning sensation in your chest, a sour taste in your mouth, and a constant need for antacids can be incredibly frustrating. While there are several acidity medicines available on the market, many people are turning to natural remedies for relief. Let's start by understanding the symptoms, causes, and benefits of home remedies for acidity, including ayurvedic medicine for gas and acidity. So, if you're seeking an alternative approach to managing your acidity, read on!
What are the Symptoms of Acidity?
Acidity, also known as acid reflux or heartburn, can manifest in various ways. Typical indications of acid reflux consist of a fiery feeling in the chest (commonly known as heartburn), throwing up acid or sour fluid, trouble swallowing, a continuous dry cough, and a bitter flavour in the mouth. Symptoms may vary in intensity, ranging from mild to severe, and can occur after consuming certain foods or lying down after a meal.
What are the Causes?
Several factors contribute to acidity. Some of the primary causes include the consumption of spicy or fatty foods, overeating, obesity, pregnancy, smoking, and certain medical conditions such as hiatal hernia and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Stress and anxiety can also exacerbate the symptoms of acidity. Identifying and addressing the underlying causes can be crucial in managing and preventing acidity.
Why are Home Remedies Good for Acidity?
Home remedies for acidity are gaining popularity for various reasons. Natural remedies for acidity are typically milder on the body and can offer lasting relief without the potential for negative side effects, unlike traditional acid reflux medications. These remedies focus on addressing the root cause of acidity rather than simply alleviating the symptoms. Furthermore, natural remedies are readily available, economical, and simple to make at home with common ingredients.
6 Reasons Why Natural Remedies are the Solution for Acidity:
Minimal side effects: Unlike acidity medicine, which may cause side effects such as diarrhoea, constipation, and headaches, natural remedies typically have minimal to no adverse effects on the body.
Addressing the root cause: Natural remedies target the underlying causes of acidity, such as unhealthy eating habits, stress, and obesity, rather than just providing temporary relief from symptoms.
Holistic approach: Natural remedies focus on overall well-being and promote a healthy digestive system, which can have a positive impact on acidity and other related conditions.
Long-term benefits: By adopting natural remedies, you can experience long-term relief from acidity, reducing your reliance on antacids and other medications.
Cost-effective: Home remedies for acidity are often inexpensive compared to over-the-counter acidity medicine, making them an affordable option for many.
Sustainable lifestyle changes: Natural remedies encourage healthy lifestyle habits, such as consuming a balanced diet, managing stress levels, and practising regular exercise, which can benefit not only acidity but also overall health.
Why should you consider Ayurvedic Medicine for Gas and Acidity?
Ayurvedic medicine, an ancient holistic healing system from India, offers a comprehensive approach to treating acidity and gas-related issues. Ayurveda focuses on balancing the body, mind, and spirit to promote overall well-being. Ayurvedic practitioners prescribe herbs, dietary changes, and lifestyle modifications to address the root causes of acidity.
Ayurvedic medicine for gas and acidity often includes herbs like amla (Indian gooseberry), ginger, liquorice, and coriander. These herbs possess natural healing properties that can soothe the digestive system, reduce inflammation, and regulate acid production. Ayurvedic treatments also emphasize stress reduction techniques such as yoga and meditation, which can help manage acidity caused by emotional factors.
3 Effective Home Remedies to Help Acidity:
Apple Cider Vinegar: To find relief from symptoms of acidity and enhance digestion, it is advised to combine a tablespoon of unfiltered and raw apple cider vinegar with warm water and consume it prior to meals.
Ginger Tea: To prepare ginger tea, simply steep fresh ginger slices in hot water. Ginger has anti-inflammatory properties that can soothe the digestive system and provide relief from acidity.
Chamomile Infusion: To make a cup of chamomile tea, steep dried chamomile flowers in hot water. Chamomile has calming effects on the stomach and can help reduce acidity.
Avoid Foods that Trigger Acidity
While natural remedies can be effective in managing acidity, it is essential to make dietary changes to avoid triggering the condition. Some common foods and beverages that can worsen acidity include spicy foods, fatty and fried foods, citrus fruits, tomatoes, chocolate, coffee, and carbonated drinks. By eliminating or reducing the intake of these trigger foods, you can significantly reduce the frequency and severity of acidity episodes.
Conclusion:
Acidity can be a persistent and uncomfortable condition, but natural remedies offer a viable alternative to conventional acidity medicines. By adopting a holistic approach, including ayurvedic medicine for gas and acidity, you can address the root causes of acidity and experience long-term relief. Additionally, incorporating effective home remedies and making dietary changes can further alleviate symptoms and promote a healthy digestive system. So, give natural remedies a try and embark on a journey towards improved well-being and freedom from acidity. Keep in mind that seeking guidance from a healthcare professional is always prudent before implementing any substantial modifications to your treatment regimen.
