#it's been one month#it takes a lot longer than one month of bad governance to undo the trajectory of vast economic forces#and i know everyone wants to look very savvy and make all these confident predictions#of how everything will turn out#bc that shit sells and ppl want to look really smart#but frankly i have no idea how this is all going to turn out#and i don't trust anybody who thinks they do#obviously it's a bad situation!#but even under maximally bad management the US will continue to be a superpower for some time#and the structural issues in the economy of china#or the political issues in the EU#are not going to resolve themselves just because the US decides to shoot its own dick off#people MUST get more comfortable with uncertainty about the future#and kill the desperate need to appear savvy to their peers online and offline alike#or they are going to drive themselves insane and also say a lot of stupid shit#us politics
