one of my new coworkers' pets are all starwars/marvel name themed. another new coworker said she could see me being a "ren faire wedding kind of person". a third started quoting Charlie the Unicorn today

i dont even remember WHAT it was that my boss said, but she made some kinda reference that was so Words My Mother Would Say that it totally blindsided me

#it makes sense re: my boss bc i am the exact same age as her son. she's only a year younger than my mom #very weird to be working for Almost My Mother #even weirder when its in a building full of people who apparently Are My Kind of People #which isnt a phrase i love but i have no idea how else to put it #im used to like. having a couple of coworkers who vibe with me and frequent the same media circles but like. its EVERYONE here???#I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO #anyway ive had this job for a week and im in the part where ive learned just enough things to know i know Nothing and it scares me #this is the worst part of every new job.
