dale kobble x reader.
content warning: fluff, slightly annoyed dale, mental health issues/reader having a bad day, poor eating patterns, casual intimacy, mentions of blood from minor injury, playful banter.
word count: 2197
a/n: i tried to keep dale in character the best i could! we also deserve to be comforted by our favorite old man. enjoy!
TENDER LOVING CARE
ruth helps you up and tells you to go back inside as you sniffle. you wipe your tears with the back of your hand and let out a soft sob. you were already having a rough morning, it was just one of those days, but now your favorite jeans you thrifted were completely soaked and they were ripped on the knees. as you walk inside, dale can hear your sobs from downstairs.
“jesus christ,” he sighs running his fingers through his hair. “what now?” he hollers from the basement, his voice filled with a hint of annoyance.
there was no response which annoys him even more.
he was in a time crunch and needed to get this doll finished. he goes to get up and his annoyed demeanor softens as he sees the emotional state you’re in and your scuffed knees.
“oh, little angel,” he coos softly as he gets up and makes his way to you. he wraps his arms around you and squeezes the daylights out of you, your soft sobs muffled in his chest. “why don’t we go upstairs and get you cleaned up? hm? come on.”
he takes your hand in his and guides you up the basement steps, your knees throbbing and burning.
“take off your jeans so i can get a better look, my angel. i don’t wanna ruin your jeans any further,” he suggests while removing the clutter off the counter.
“it’s not like i’ll wear them after this,” you reply with attitude as you hop on the counter, dale completing ignoring you as he hums a tune while searching for some bandaids in the bathroom.
you knew he’d fix your jeans for you. you were just having a rough day.
you listen as he rummages through the medicine cabinet and comes back to the kitchen with some ointment and a couple of knee bandages.
“where’s the hydrogen peroxide?” you ask softly as he washes his hands, his back facing you.
he turns to face you again. “it’s not good for your skin. ruth told me. hold still so i can see,” he whispers.
his slender fingers delicately grip both of your legs, his eyes carefully looking for any gravel he needs to pick off before fixing you up. you can’t help but stare at him, your heart swelling at how attentive he is. you push the hair that’s dangling in his face behind his ears and you let out a soft chuckle as he looks at you from under his brows.
“no pesky stones, but i need to clean you up,” he says softly, grabbing a few paper towels and saturating them in soap and water. “might burn so hold still…”
he carefully pats your tender skin as you sit there sucking air between your teeth trying to deal with the stinging sensation. you grip his robe and he can’t help but smile. he continues to wipe up the dry blood and the plasma that oozes from your scrapes.
“i know, i know, baby, just relax,” he tells you, his voice soft and caring. he pats you dry and applies some ointment to his finger, gently rubbing it on the now clean wounds. “see? wasn’t too bad?”
you sit there silently for a second looking down at your knees, your fingers pressing the bandaids gently to make sure they were on securely. as dale cleaned up the mess and put things back the way they were, you make your way to the basement. you didn’t even bother putting pants back on, you just wanted to lay down at this point. you pull the blankets back off the mattress and lay down, pulling the blankets back over your head. you close your eyes and try to take a nap but you can’t help but feel dale’s eyes burning through you. a smile forms on your face as you hear his slippers dragging across the floor, his weight shifting the mattress a little.
“what?” you ask trying to hide the smile on your face, trying to keep him from pulling the blankets off you.
“oh come on, stop acting like a little brat,” he chuckles, moving the blankets off you, his body weight pressing you into the mattress.
he lays there on top of you, your face cradled in his hands. he lets out a soft hum and stares at you, his thumbs stroking your cheeks.
“my poor angel, having such a rough day,” he sighs softly before kissing your nose. he really needed to get that damn doll done, but he knows you’re having a rough day. “anything i can do to help?” he watches you give him a shrug, your smile fading. “hm… how about we do something? we can… listen to music? or we can just lay here and talk?”
“no. i’m fine.” you roll over and he frowns. “i don’t wanna do anything today.”
“not even go thrifting? or out for lunch?” he smirks trying to persuade you into getting up and moving around. “have you eaten anything today?” he kisses your cheek gently.
“i’m not hungry,” you mumble into the blanket. “besides, don’t you have the doll to finish?”
“yes, but that can wait.”
you both knew he’d regret it later, but his main concern was you.
“i’m gonna go run you a nice warm bath then i’ll make us both lunch and some hot coco, with those marshmallows you like, hm? how’s that?” he whispers in your ear before giving your cheek another soft kiss.
“okay,” you chuckle as you finally give in.
moments pass and you’re brushing your hair in the bathroom as dale sits on the ledge of the tub checking the temperature of the water. he looks up at you and sighs noticing you’re spacing out. his heart aches for you, wanting nothing more than to know what’s going on in that pretty little head of yours.
“you ready? i’ll turn away if you need,” he says softly, not wanting to make you uncomfortable knowing you’re in a vulnerable state.
“no, it’s okay,” you sigh really not wanting to do anything but to lay down. it all felt like a chore.
dale notices your behavior and sits on the lid of the toilet, his hands gently undressing you and making sure not to accidentally bump your scrapes. he tosses your dirty clothes in the hamper and watches you carefully lower yourself in the warm bubble bath.
“mm,” you hum softly, the warm water soothing you already.
“perfect?” dale asks as he lowers himself next to you outside the tub. he smiles when you nod and he grabs an old plastic cup nearby. “put your head back, baby. let me take care of you.”
you do as he says and he begins to wash your hair, his slender fingers massaging the shampoo into your scalp. he chuckles at your reaction, loving the way you’re practically falling asleep to his touch. he rinses your hair and continues to pamper you, your body exhausted from all the emotional stress. he moves onto washing your body carefully, trying his best to help you relax. he rinses you off once more and sets the cup down.
“i’m gonna go get towels, you finish washing up,” he says softly while standing. “i’ll be right back.”
you finish up and stand there, dale appearing in the bathroom with fresh towels. he holds one out for you and you get out, dale so kindly wrapping it around you.
“you want this one for your hair?” he asks. he acknowledges your answer with a nod when you shake your head no. “let’s get you dressed.”
he pulls out a pair of underwear from your pile of clothes and grabs a teal t-shirt from his drawer. he hands you the clothes and cups your face in his hands when he sees tears in your eyes.
“hey, hey, it’s okay,” he whispers softly brushing the tears away with his thumbs. “you’re gonna be okay, alright? i’m here, ruth is here too, you’re safe. it’ll be okay, my little angel. okay?” he gives you a few gentle kisses on the lips and pulls away. “i’m gonna make us some lunch and then get that hot coco started. why don’t you get dressed then pick out some music?”
you nod and sniffle, wiping your tears and watch as he goes upstairs to tend to lunch and the hot chocolate. you get dressed and flip through some of his albums after brushing your hair. you don’t find anything assuming at the moment so you just turn on his stereo, the station you picked playing some classic rock. after a while dale comes down with two plates of food, a smile on your face when you noticed what he made you.
“it’s your favorite,” he smiles. “go on, sit, sit.”
“okay, okay,” you laugh as you sit down on the mattress, dale leaning over to put the plates down. “wait!” you grab his wrist to keep him from going upstairs. “thank you.”
“oh, it’s not a problem. you know that.”
he ruffles your hair playfully and descends back upstairs. he comes down and plops down in front of you, opening your can of soda. he takes a sip and you let out a scoff while grabbing your can.
“sorry, had to see if it was poisoned,” he teases.
“let me check yours then, you jerk,” you laugh loudly as you lean over and grab his, dale quickly snatching it back.
“nope, sorry. you have your own,” he chuckles at the banter between you both. he leans forward and gives you a few smooches. “eat,” he whispers against your lips, his tone authoritative.
you can’t help but smile at him and the way he’s so protective over you. you start chowing down, dale watching you as he eats his own meal. it was the first thing you had all day so it was quite nice.
“i worry about you, you know that? you need to start taking care of yourself, and im not kidding,” his voice was filled with seriousness.
“yes, i know,” you sigh. “it’s just one of those days and i don’t know why, i just-“
“it’s okay not to know why, baby, but that doesn’t mean you need to be mean to yourself.” he grabs your hand and kisses it. “i love you, little angel. promise me you’ll be nicer to yourself.”
the seriousness in his voice and the look in his eye makes you melt. this man loved you to pieces and just wanted to take care of you.
“okay, i promise,” you say softly, giving his hand a squeeze. “but you need to promise me the same. i’m tired of seeing you drained because of these damn dolls.”
“okay, deal. but i do need to finish it,” he chuckles as he finishes his meal. “done?” he asks when he sees your nearly finished.
“mhmhmm, i don’t want this.” you hand him the last piece of your food and he looks at you as you feed him.
“mmm, yummy,” he teases and gives you a wink.
after sipping hot chocolate and talking for a little bit on how you were feeling, dale gives you some space to journal and relax as he finishes his doll. you look up at him, his back and broad shoulders facing you. he was so kind and gentle with you today, it definitely helped you. you get up and set your journal aside, quietly walking up behind him. dale was focusing intently on his work until your hands covered his eyes, the sudden action catching him by surprise. he lets out a small huff and a chuckle when he realizes you’re being silly.
“now what do you think you’re doing back there, little angel?” he placed his paint brush down and grabs your wrists to pull your hands away. “so nosy, you just couldn’t let me work in peace?”
“nope,” you giggle adding to the playful banter as he pulls you onto his lap, his large arms wrapping around you.
“mmm,” he smiles, squeezing you tightly in a jokingly manner, causing you to grunt softly. “my sweet angel, all mine…”
“mmfp, okay,” you laugh trying to escape his grasp. he loosens up and looks at you as you sit there straddling him. “thank you for taking care of me today. i appreciate it.”
“oh, baby… you’re absolutely welcome,” he whispers rubbing the small of your back. “everyone needs a little tlc, right?”
“maybe one day i can pamper you?” you suggest, dale’s brows going up with a smirk. “i’m being serious, kobble,” you laugh and nudge him.
“i know, im just picking.” his smirk fades and he lets out a sigh. “i really do need to get this done.”
“okay, so finish it, no one’s stopping you.” your tone was filled with sass and dale couldn’t help but shake his head at how much of a handful you were being.
“alright,” he sighs pushing the chair in with you still on his lap. “you needy little thing.”
you sit there with a satisfied expression while playing with his hair, dale working diligently on his doll the best he could.

cw gn!reader but written with f!reader in mind, angst, no comfort, breakup, pining, minor clubbing wc: <1k an i'm on my period which is making me a little emotional, which resulted in this
ex!suguru will never truly be over you, convinced you’re the one that got away.
the breakup was “mutual”, emphasis on the quotation marks — it only meant you guys ended on good terms. it was a very quiet and tender scene. he holds your hands in his, slowly his thumb strokes across your knuckles, never letting his eyes leave your tear stained face.
ex!suguru who, despite disagreeing wholeheartedly with the decision, sees it’s for the best. he will forever hate himself for being unable to see it coming, unable to stop it — one day he suddenly notices how staying in the relationship brought you more turmoil than joy, and he didn't have the heart to hold onto you even though he so desperately wanted to. but he would ruin himself million times over for you
“it’ll be okay,” he says softly, letting himself indulge in the small acts that come so naturally to him one last time before he has to let go, hand reaching up to dry your tears and cupping your cheek. “i’ll be okay.”
with the quiet promise, he feels the stress leave your body and you rest against his touch, a sad smile painting your lips — you’re so beautiful, he thinks.
ex!suguru who lies because he knows it's what you need to hear. you had already stayed longer than you wanted because you didn’t want to hurt him. he wasn’t surprised. you were just so considerate, through and through. he had always thought the relationship was too good to be true anyways, never truly feeling worthy of you
ex!suguru who doesn’t cry, but that is because he feels numb. he can’t remember feeling a pain as intense as this one.
when your tears have stopped, only shy sniffles escaping you, he comes with one last confession. “i’m always going to love you.” he waits, hoping you would say it in return. it isn’t because you don’t love him anymore that you can’t keep going, it’s just because it isn’t working.
“i know,” you say quietly and his heart shatters.
ex!suguru who has his friends fooled because they think he is over the relationship already. he acts the same, eats the same and goes about his business the same — but that’s because it doesn’t concern anyone other than the two of you.
first weekend as a single man, gojo forces him to go out clubbing with him. he really doesn’t want to, but he can’t give his friend any excuses he will accept.
he hates every moment of it, rudely shutting down anyone that approaches him. no matter how attractive, no matter how charismatic, no matter how willing — they’re not you so what’s the point?
ex!suguru who hates the universe a little more than usual. despite his best efforts, he can’t seem to escape you entirely. and he swears he tries, but you somehow just appear every now and then.
he spots you in the grocery store, doing your daily shopping. he spots you in the line of the coffeehouse, ordering your usual drink (one he knows by heart). he sees you on every feed, posting pictures and updates of your life — you seem happy.
his heart screams for him to surrender to his desires, to approach you and hear your voice again. but he knows better, so after torturing himself by admiring you for a few seconds, he simply turns on his heel and leaves.
ex!suguru who after years still thinks about you as much as the day you left. he has tried to move on, but it feels like a betrayal, even after all this time.
has he healed? sure, a little. life goes on after all. with time he has been reunited with some sense of happiness. however it could never compare to the period of his life where he was so fortunate to be with you.
ex!suguru runs into you after nine years. and not like all the times he has simply noticed you down the street — no, you fully crash into his chest one day while walking out of a bakery.
to say he is surprised is an understatement. he has memorised all the places you used to visit so this exact scenario wouldn’t happen, and this had never been a chain you had set foot in before. but a lot changes in nine years.
“suguru, hi.” your voice is light, a rhythm in it that was not present at the end of your relationship. “wow, crazy running into you. how have you been?”
“good,” he croaks, eyes glued to your face. he still finds you as ethereal as the day you left. he wants to say more, but he is a little unsettled by how at peace you seem to be despite not being with him. “and you?”
it doesn’t go unnoticed how you present yourself as genuinely content with where you are in life. however, suguru goes through the entire heartbreak all over again — he has missed so much of your life. he used to think he would be along side you for every single moment of it. instead he is stood in front of you and feeling as if the walls are closing in on him.
his breath catches when you stretch out your hand to grab his forearm. “it was really great seeing you again,” you muse. it’s probably just wishful thinking, but he believes he hears a sadness in your voice that comes from missing him.
“you too,” he whispers, and you’re gone again.
ex!suguru who eventually comes to terms with just being alone again. before you, he always imagined this was how it would end, not the person made to share his life with someone.
you had obviously made him believe otherwise. with you by his side, waking up next to someone and sharing your meals didn’t seem so silly anymore.
but it turns out he only wanted those things if it was with you.

Helper II
Lia Wälti x Child!Reader
Leah Williamson x Child!Reader
Summary: You're sick
"Hey, no," Auntie Leah says sternly, picking up your kitchen stool and placing it up on the counters.
Usually, you use it so you can be tall enough to reach the sink to do the dishes or to help Mummy. But Auntie Leah doesn't let you on it to tackle the mountain of dishes in the sink just like how Mummy didn't let you join her this morning picking up all the leaves in the garden.
All because you had the sniffles and a fever last night.
It's gotten a bit worse now because your head is pounding but you think you're still well enough to do your chores.
Mummy and Auntie Leah don't agree so you're stuck doing nothing until it's time to go to training.
You hope that you get better soon so you can go back to helping out because you don't know what to do with yourself if you can't help and your half-finished puzzle on the coffee table is an afternoon activity and not a morning one.
That hope is promptly squashed when you throw up all over the living room floor ten minutes before you have to leave.
It's awful because you've made a big mess and Mummy won't let you fix it by cleaning it up yourself. She holds you in her arms and rocks you back and forth while Auntie Leah cleans it all up.
She doesn't even let you flick the light switch on and off twice like you usually do so this day is going to go wrong so badly for you.
You remain sick even after Mummy gives you medicine and some juice to hold you over.
You feel terrible, a big knot in your tummy as you curl into her arms while she carries you into the building.
"Guppy?" Your favourite puzzle partner Codi asks," Are you feeling okay?"
"Guppy's sick today," Leah tells her," She threw up this morning."
Codi makes a sympathetic noise before wishing you well and going back to changing.
You whine when Mummy sets you down in her cubby and you keep whining when she backs off to go grab her bottle from the adjoining room.
That's usually your job.
"Here, guppy," Auntie Leah says," Have more juice. It'll make you feel better."
It's a nice lie to tell you and it brings a bit of comfort so that's why you don't snitch on Auntie Leah to Mummy for lying to you.
You guzzle down your juice and Mummy returns with her bottle. She changes quickly before checking your temperature again.
"I'm sorry, guppy," She says and you already know what she's going to say," But I don't think you're well enough to help out the staff today."
Your eyes well with tears.
"Please, Mummy!" You beg," I promise I won't throw up again!"
"It's not that, guppy," She says," You're just not well enough. You need to rest today. Not do anything else."
"But-But!"
"I'm sorry," Mummy continues," But you're not changing my mind. We'll make sure you've got everything you need but you can't help today."
You sniffle but don't argue anymore.
Mummy gives you a blanket to wrap around your shoulders and a sports drink to keep your energy up and a little puzzle that doesn't quiet lay flat on the grass which is kind of annoying.
There's a sick bucket next to you as well that you'll make sure to use if you feel like you're going to throw up rather than ruin the pitch like you ruined the living room.
"How are you feeling?" Auntie Leah asks.
Her and Mummy have been taking it in turns to check in on you and you sniffle.
"Better," You say," Can I help now?"
"Sorry, guppy," She replies," But you know Lia's not going to change her mind. You've just got to focus on resting today. Maybe tomorrow."
"Please? I'll be good!"
"You're already so good, guppy," Leah assures you," But your body needs time to rest and recover like when I hurt my knee. You need to do the same."
You don't like that answer but you're a good girl so you do what you're told. You don't help. You stay with your blanket and your energy drink and your snacks until Mummy comes to collect you.
She gives you another round of medicine that you take dutifully before rechecking your temperature.
You wait and Mummy smiles.
"Looking good, guppy," She says," Maybe another day or two and you'll be better in no time!"
"Really?"
"Really really," Mummy confirms," I think this calls for opening your new puzzle at home."
You perk up at that. "Can Codi come too? I want to do it with her!"
"Go and see if Codi's free tonight and we'll see."

domestic | c.s.
synopsis: in which you build a life together with the love of your life
my masterlist
The sun was shining brightly through the open windows, the sunrays illuminating the busy room and casting a warmth over everyone inside.
Everyone was running around, trying to finish the last touches before the moment finally came. Putting a few more bobby pins into your hair, adding some last touches to your make-up, smoothing over any creases that might have appeared on your gown.
The air and atmosphere was tense, everybody scrambling to make sure everything was perfect for your big day.
Your wedding day.
You didn’t remember ever feeling as nervous as you did in those moments while getting ready. Not even when you found out you were pregnant with Rafael, not even when you have birth to him could you remember having such nerves.
Yours and Carlos’ mother were standing in the corner of your room, silently dabbing their eyes with tissues as they observed you. Reyes was crying and sniffling as she took you in, the woman that had made her completely at ease that her son was in very good hands in the future. The woman that had gifted the family the most precious little boy, The woman who loved her son more than life itself.
All the while, your mother couldn’t believe her little girl was so grown up. It seemed like yesterday you had brought Carlos home to meet your parents, and now you were marrying him with little Rafa next to you guys.
Where had the time flown by?
Your maids of honor, the beloved wags of the paddock and your childhood friends, were making sure everything was ready, checking you from head to toe and insisting that you just stand still a little while longer for some final touches.
They were probably more stressed out than you were, taking their roles so very seriously as well.
And lastly, there you were, sitting on the chair and smiling at the people hurrying around you, locking eyes with your mother and mother-in-law as you desperately tried to hold back tears. Mostly in fear that Kika or Alex would absolutely kill you for ruining your make-up.
You couldn’t quite believe your eyes as you stared at yourself in the mirror, seeing yourself all glammed up, feeling the fabric of your wedding gown underneath your fingers, admiring every single detail on the embroidered corset.
You had been dreaming about this moment ever since you met Carlos all those years ago. Walking down the aisle with your father by your side, seeing Carlos waiting for you at the altar with your little boy by his side, surrounded by your family and closest friends.
Nothing could compare to the feeling of knowing that in just a short while, you’re going to be married to the man of your dreams, solidifying your life together and continuing to grow your little family.
The sound of a door opening made you snap out of your little daydream and look behind you, smiling instantly when you saw Rafael standing in the middle of the room, his signature infectious smile wide on his little face.
His little suit clung perfectly to his small figure, the baby blue pants and white shirt making him look like a perfect little doll.
“Hi, mi amor” you smiled and outstretched your arms, making Rafa grin and run into your waiting arm, carefully hugging you around your neck.
“You look very pretty, mama” he spoke, kissing your cheek as he pulled away from the hug.
You smiled wobbly as tears started gathering at the corner of your eyes, leaning down to kiss him on the cheeks.
“Thank you, my handsome boy” you whispered, resting your forehead against his.
He grinned and clapped his hands before pulling away from you and running out of the room, making you all laugh and shake your heads.
“I can bet you that Carlos sent him in here” Reyes commented, making everyone burst out laughing and agree.
“He thinks he’s being sneaky” you commented, rolling your eyes affectionately with a dreamy smile on your face.
Someone would figure that your cheeks would start hurting because of how much you were smiling, but it was the complete opposite. This was such a special day for you, a day you were never going to experience again and would only look back on in the future. You would be damned if you would let anything distract you from your own wedding.
Including Carlos and his shenanigans with your own son.
A knock on your door interrupted the moment you were having with the rest of the women in the room. Not even a moment later, your father popped his head in, looking around as his eyes searched for you.
“Can I come in?” he asked, making your mother smile and nod from where she was sitting down.
Your father stepped into the room and closed the door behind him, his eyes instantly falling on your figure. You were now standing up in front of him, every last touch added to your already gorgeous look.
You were ready to get married, ready to officially leave the family nest forever, and as the realization truly dawned on your father, he couldn’t help the tears that had started falling down his cheeks.
“Dad, please don’t cry. You’re gonna make me cry and I’ll ruin everything” you pouted, laughing as you stepped closer and took your father into your arms, rubbing soothing circles on his back.
“I just can’t believe you’re really getting married. It doesn’t feel real” he said, his voice breaking mid-sentence.
“I know, I know” you comforted him, looking at your mother over his shoulder.
You knew it would be an emotional day for everyone, especially for your parents. You were their only child, they were only now realizing that their only daughter was leaving the safety of their family and making another one of her own, without them.
They were bound to cry, and rightfully so, but you feared that you would soon start crying too and ruin the hard work of everyone in getting you ready.
“Come now, dear. It’s time for the ceremony to start” your mother soon came over and patted your father on the back, making him slowly pull back from you and wipe his teary cheeks.
He sniffled, looking between you and your mother. He smiled, proudly looking at you in your dress, taking a mental picture he would remember until the day he died.
“Your mother is right. Let’s go get you married”
♡♡♡♡♡
The soft calm ceremony music started playing through the church as the doors opened and the hall came into your view.
Your father held your arm as you took in the entire room, your eyes scanning the room before landing on Carlos. Your eyes instantly teared up at the sight of him, his hair slicked back and tears welling up in his eyes, his black suit fitting to his body just right.
“You ready?” your father whispered, smiling at you once he saw the dreamy look you were giving your soon-to-be husband.
You looked back at your father and smiled, nodding vehemently.
The short walk towards the aisle was short and sort of a blur, the only thing you could remember being Carlos’ eyes staring back at you, fidgeting to finally get you before him.
Rafa was waiting next to his father, standing in front of Lando, Carlos’ best man, smiling from ear to ear and alternating between looking at you and looking at his father.
You hadn’t even realized you were now standing in front of Carlos until your father had let go of your arm, Carlos replacing his hold with his own hands.
“Hi” you whispered, smiling wobbly.
“You look stunning” he whispered back, neither of you paying the smallest bit of attention to the officiator.
The entire ceremony went by in a blur, every word said by the priest being lost on you two up until the moment he mentioned the word ‘vows’, which is when you two finally came to and realized you were surrounded by a whole lot of people waiting to hear from you.
“Sorry, got a little distracted” you joked, making everyone around you laugh. “Um, where do I even start? I’ve been dreaming about this day ever since I was a little girl, and now that dream is finally coming true. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to spend the rest of my life with and have a family with, nobody could ever compare to you, Carlos. You make me the happiest woman in the world, you understand me like nobody else and you make me feel so loved and cherished. You gave me the most beautiful gift in the world, our son, and I can’t thank God enough for bringing you to me and showing me what true happiness looks like. I promise to love you and care for you until the end of my days, support you in every decision you make, take care of our little family with everything in me until we grow old and gray and are surrounded by our grandchildren. I love you” you didn’t know when you had started crying, but you just realized the waterfall of tears that were falling from yours and Carlos’ eyes at the same time.
Carlos quickly wiped his eyes and laughed, sniffling before looking back at you
“I don’t know how I could ever compete with that. Um, Y/N, you came into my life at a point where I didn’t think I would ever find love. My career has required me to sacrifice having a personal life, and I didn’t think finding someone who would understand it was possible. But you proved me wrong in every single way. You have been here for me from the very beginning, you have supported me in every way you could think of, you loved me and cared for me through every single up and every single down. You gave birth to our son and proved to me just how much I appreciate you for how strong you are, how proud I am to call you mine and the mother of my child. I promise to always put you and Rafa before anything else, to love and take care of you until I physically can’t anymore and be the husband and father that you both deserve me to be” you were now full-on crying, Kika freaking out behind you because of your make-up, but you simply didn’t care.
Hearing Carlos vow his eternal love to you and your son made the entire ceremony all the more real, you were really getting married to the perfect man for you and your son.
“Now, the rings?” the priest asked, and you looked expectantly at Lando, but he just smiled and looked down at Rafa.
You pouted once you saw the little velvet boxes in your son’s hands, gingerly opening them and handing both to you and Carlos.
“My little gentleman” you whispered to him as you took the box in your hand, kissing his cheek and ruffling his hair.
Carlos took your left hand in his, holding the ring over your finger as he spoke.
“With this ring I, Carlos , take you,Y/N , to be no other than yourself. Loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know, I will respect your integrity and have faith in your abiding love for me, through all our years, and in all that life may bring us.” and with that, he slid the wedding band on your finger, the cold metal a symbol of his commitment to your life together.
You returned the gesture, sliding the ring on his finger as you declared your love for him in front of your families, laughing when Rafa started clapping.
“Yay!!” he screeched, making everyone laugh and Lando take him in his arms to quiet him down.
“By the power invested in me, I pronounce you husband and wife. Carlos, you may kiss your bride” the pastor barely got the words out before Carlos stepped forward and took your face in his hands, kissing you like his life depended on it.
The entire hall was now on their feet, clapping and whistling echoing throughout the entire church. Rafael was jumping up and down in Lando’s arm, holding onto his uncle’s neck to not fall down from how excited he was. Your bridesmaids were all holding back tears as they clapped as well, but the same could not be said for yours and Carlos’ parents, who were dabbing their eyes with tissues in a desperate attempt to stop their tears.
But the two of you were stuck in your little bubble, neither of you making a move to break the first kiss you shared as husband and wife, as life partners forever.
And as you stood there, surrounded by the people you both loved the most, you knew this was just the beginning of your life together.
The beginning of your little family.

officially yours (his)
gojo satoru x fem! reader
fluff, established relationship, marriage, modern au, slightly suggestive in the end
a/n: idk how long it's been, almost about a year but I'm back again. this time school isn't an obstacle anymore :] wrote this while seasons - wave to earth is playing in the background
If years ago you're telling the Gojo Satoru you would marry him, he would tell you it would be a dream out of reach. Because back then, he's not confident in himself to make someone as beautiful- inside and out as you happy. It might be because of his rough past, and he didn't want to risk you going through it as he doesn't want you to get hurt.
You are too delicate, too fragile that he's sure that he doesn't deserve you. Hell, he would even risk letting someone else have you if it meant you don't have to go through a single trouble that he always endures. Though he's used to it by now, but you don't.
So how is it possible that here he is, standing on the shoreline of the vast ocean of your dreams, his shoes a little drenched and stained with sand. But never mind all that. His eyes are on you, teary and red though it won't fall. His lips are trembling, he wants to say something, but he knew that he would be sobbing and he promised himself that he won't ruin the ceremony that unite both of you in sickness and health.
There you are in your white wedding dress, your dream wedding dress, as you held the bouquet of flowers in your hand, keeping up a smile even though you're also on the verge of tears. Your eyes are blurry, but your father guided you to him, letting go of you as you're now standing in front of each other.
You allowed yourself to sniffle. Geto then starts doing the speech and declaration to officiate both of you in your wedding day, Satoru's eyes never fell from yours.
It's time to declare each other's wedding vows, which you anticipate. Satoru fixed his bow tie nervously, as you smiled.
"[Name], my love, my heart, my life, my everything." He starts, and his voice already cracked which earned a few laughs from your families and friends. He was full on sniffling, nose red as the first drop of tears stained his cheek. "First of all, I want to thank you a lot for everything you've done for me. Taking care of me even when I'm whiny and clingy, even though I stained your shirt with my snot as you patted me to sleep. Always being there to comfort me because you know that I'm not fine, even though I insist I am. You always knew before me, and this is one of the reasons why I fall in love with you." He manage to make through the first paragraphs, as onslaught of tears stained his cheeks again.
"Oh my god, I'm crying." He accidentally slipped into the mic, as chuckles are heard again. He's trying to wipe them off with his sleeves now. "Does anyone have a tissue?" He sniffled, as Geto handed him a q-tip. He tried wiping his tears with them, as it didn't do as much. "What does a q-tip gonna do? I need a tissue." He sniffled again, only realising the tissue in his breast pocket when you pointed them out.
"Ah, thank god." He sniffled, as he tried to compose himself while wiping his tears. Now the audiences were laughing, which makes you laugh too even though you're also about to drown in tears. "Okay." He cleared his throat, lifting up the paper in his view which is stained by droplets of tears.
"I'm sure that even if I continue listing them down, words wouldn't be enough to express my love to you- because it runs deep. And it is dangerous, at least this is what I thought when I was so young and naive, still learning what real love means." He sniffled. "But I got addicted to it, you're too addictive that I'm sure the thought of you will never go away. Everyday I wake up, I'm thankful that I even get the chance to be with you. And I try to make it last, even though temporary, these fleeting moments is my motivator."
He inhaled, before reading the next last paragraph. "My love, I want you to know that this has been my dream for the longest time. And to see and experience myself to be officially yours is a dream come true. I'm yours, always yours from the start and eternally. I promise myself from the start, and I want you to know that I'll always be with you no matter in sickness or in health, in the hardest days of your life or the easiest. I love you wholeheartedly in all versions of yourself. My heart, I have devoted myself to you, and should you think that I'm not, I'll always remind you through my actions. I love you, my [Name], my wife now and forever."
Gojo Satoru managed to finish, his tears are now at bay only for it to stream continously again when it's your turn to recite your wedding vows. It is safe to say that Gojo Satoru cried more than you, and he took 1 to 2 business days to process your marriage before finally going back to his 'normal' safe. And you love him all the same.
bonus:
It was late on your wedding night, after making love with him. You laid on his chest, catching your breath as he caressed your hair, his eyes on the ceiling as if lost in thought. It was quiet, but you love it.
"My love?" He starts, his eyes now on you, admiring your features. His hand on your hair is so comforting, that it took you a second to answer him. "Mhm? What is it baby?" You asked, looking up at him with sincereness and love in your eyes.
He pouted, frowning a little. Whatever it is that's weighing on his mind, you want to make it go away. "I'm sorry for ruining our wedding. I just can't hold it- you know. I never thought we would go this far." He mumbled, as you now start cupping his face, making him look into your eyes.
"Hey, it's fine. You know, I love that you're not afraid to show your true self. I love you. You make the wedding more memorable." I reassured him, speaking softly that he might even fall asleep to my voice.
Satoru didn't answer, though it's evident he's happy to know your thoughts now that his frowns and pout go away. "I love you too. You know, we're not even done for the night." He teased, now going back to his 'normal' self.
You slapped his chest playfully, though there's no denying it when your cheeks are flushed.
a/n: this is inspired from one of the videos I came across on ig (iykyk) I wish I copied the link but I lost it ☹️ the video literally screams satoru and you can't fight me.

MASTERLIST
"I WILL NOT HAVE HIS BASTARD BLUE EYED GHOULS!"
One of her many shouts burst through the crevices of the chambers that she had been forced into by the frustrated servants who were just as upset as the maiden by her relentless protest and fight. Charles sighed to himself as he took a sip of his drink, numbly watching the fire and waiting for his unwed young bride to be prepared for him.
He was the only one who could actually understand her, as she solely spoke her native tongue that he had learnt to ensure the preparation of a fail-proof plan with flawless execution. Infiltrate and occupy. To everyone else in his Estate, she was a wild savage with no sense of civility. One that the Master had taken a fancy to during his business expeditions in her homeland.
When his wisdom and cunning had added yet another colony to Henry's growing kingdom, the King was obligated to give his best friend the object of his attention as a gift. Charles' eyes that would follow her every time she was around the marketplace, naively going about her day with no knowledge of the coral eyes that observed her every move from afar had not gone unnoticed by the King.
"I do apologize in advance, Master" the head maid bowed after approaching his seat. "The girl has been prepared and placed in your chambers but she is bestial and restive. I do not recom–"
"That will be all, Mrs. Chapman, goodnight" the lady was mildly taken aback as she had gotten used to being the second in command ever since the Master's family had passed away from a devastating plague sometime over a decade ago.
The silence of the Estate had been his companion during his idle hours for years before this night.
And now there was her…
Charles sighed to himself as he lifted his heavy body out of his seat after putting down the glass and made his way to his feral little present that awaited him in his chambers.
His form silently moved through the shadows of the dimly lit halls as the man neared the enclosure he was planning to remain in for weeks at the very least. Undeniable anticipation and excitement began to course through his veins that had not felt this warm for ages now the closer he got to the heavy double doors.
Charles paused for a second before he entered, tuning her shrieking out and taking a moment to both calm his nerves and settle his composure. He was getting too old to tolerate the wailings of a child for long, but he did not want to ruin this for himself.
When the man was sure a few moments after that he was ready, he raised his head and entered.
It had been too long.
Much to his surprise, the shouting ceased at once and was replaced by quiet sniffling upon his appearing. He had been told that the years had granted him an intimidating mien but it was only now that he believed it when the girl's ear numbing protests turned into mere whimpers at his showing up.
A frown made its way on Charles' face when he turned away from the door after ensuring the security of its latches to finally face the girl. Because though she looked stunning -and Heavens, the sight before him was truly breathtaking-, he found her delicate, dusk-hued hands bound to the headboard of the bed with cloth pieces that matched the shade of her attire.
And oh, her attire…
Tan fingers decorated with scarlet henna that was deep in shade, hands sparkling with the jewelry that had been draped over them and locked in place at her wrists from below and around the base of her digits from top. The velvety caramel of her arms adorning red and gold glass bangles that jingled every time she mumly struggled against her cruel restraints that cut at her obviously pampered skin whenever she moved. Her face was half-covered with a dark red drape into which sparkling beads had been sown in the shapes of flowers. Her binds that held her arms captive and away at her sides caused her heavy chest to push out against the deep neckline of her crimson blouse, the mud coloured swells feverishly trembling every time she grunted and give a pull to her bruising wrists. The long skirt she had been made to wear below matched the color of the rest of her clothing articles, her fight having raised it up her hazel shaded ankles around which glittery jewelry similar to the hand pieces she wore were wrapped. Her toes that curled every now and then had been coloured the same scarlet shade as her fingers and the sheets contrasted her body in the most stunning way.
The King had really outdone himself with Charles' reward this time around.
The curve of her body was perfect and different to everything the older man had ever had the pleasure of experiencing. A familiar but much forgotten warmth spread over his chest and traveled down to his nether regions as he neared the girl.
"D- Don't come any closer!" A scared little maiden from a foreign land speaking in an inferior tongue was not to tell him what to do in his own house. "T- This is utter blasphemy! A girl is to only present herself like this to her husband on the night of their wedding! This is vile and most sinister!"
Charles sighed to himself before taking a seat next to her. Then he raised the drape from over her face and rested it above her head, only to reveal the most uniquely beautiful face he had ever seen in any land, the dark and thick curls that framed her features accentuating her beauty even more. "Then I suppose it is a good thing that you are my bride, is it not?" She did look the part.
Her big, almond shaped brown eyes that had been lined with kohl widened when he responded in her tongue. "N- Never!" Y/n tried to move away, her heavy nose ring that was being held up by a thin, gold chain on one side of her face bouncing every time she spoke with nervous agitation. "I- I would never wed one that bears likeness to corpses!" Now this was amusing to Charles. The man could not help the small smile that spread over his lips. "B- Better to die than lay with a blue eyed ghoul!"
Heat spread across his spine at her naivete.
Then he softly snorted. "In that case I am most regretful to inform you that these decisions are for the men to make, little one" she flinched her face away with a gasp when he went to caress her cheek with the coarse back of his hand. "Young maidens like yourself are much too simple minded to know what is right for them."
"It definitely is not becoming the slave of an old devil!" One of Charles' eyebrows raised at that.
One with a mouth.
Taming her would surely be an experience.
"Now that would be real blasphemy, letting such exquisite beauty go to waste by sending it into slavery" the girl was puzzled for a moment as she blinked up at him in confusion, unable to decide whether it was a compliment or an insult to her prior words. Perhaps both. Definitely a trap. The Duke took this time to lean towards one of her binds and reached for it. "Do you promise to behave yourself if I rid you of these?" He had heard the servants' complaints of her biting and kicking them.
The girl was at a loss of words as she warily watched his face for a hint, clearly struggling to understand his intentions. Charles bit his lip to suppress his smirk. He was not aware that he still had the charm that had had a renown of its own during the days of his youth.
"Hm?" Y/n's eyes traveled from him to where his hand hovered above the bind. Her bottom lip disappeared between her teeth and she sucked at it for a few moments before returning her gaze to his. The stubborn girl only nodded, not sparing him any more words than necessary, keeping a careful eye on his movements.
Not that there was much she could do against him.
Charles' fingers pulled the knot free and gathered her bruised wrist in them after it collapsed from its suspension. A gasp escaped the girl when he brought it to his lips and pressed a soft, ticklish kiss to the tender skin, lowering it only to reach for the other bind though caressing it with his thumb all the while.
A frown marred the girl's features as she rotated the wrists in their joints for relief, but only for a few moments. Before any words could be exchanged, her free hand that was not being pampered by the man's suspicious tenderness reached for one of the heavy pillows.
The Duke's jaw ticked as his eyes shut in forced composure, curls tossing astray when the pillow was hauled in his direction to serve as a device for escape. But alas. He was faster in judging and blocking the weapon with one firm hand.
Charles breathed through his nose to refrain from expressing his ire and bit back the surge of strength that tried to overpower him. The darkness grew within him as his realization of the sheer power he held in this moment coupled with her intoxicating scent drove him completely mad. A whine left the girl as she hissed, twisting her fragile wrist within his rough palm to try and break free from the bone crushing hold it had been held captive in during her attempt to flee.
"Now, where do we think we are going?" While it took Y/n all of her strength to try and push his arm away, the man easily hauled her body back in its previous spot before addressing her with a much unimpressed look.
"Home! I want to go home!" Tears glistened in her deep brown eyes as her chin wobbled, but she refused to give up her struggle. "You cannot keep me here, old devil! I shall protect my honor at all costs and I shall run away!"
The Duke could not help but let out a cold chuckle at that, keeping his firm hold on her all the same. "You are here on the King's orders, little one. Even if you manage -which you will not, let me assure you-, they will just bring you back here to me."
"Then I implore you let me go!" She was very obviously desperate. And he could feel his sick excitement increase. "Please, I do not wish to be here! I refuse to be desecrated at the hands of your likeness!" Charles had never been one to coerce or force; courtesy of his global popularity, but all this fight and pleading kept adding to the fire that was spreading within him.
It was then when he had to physically refrain himself from pouncing at her right then and there to strip her of all dignity and innocence, he realized that he wanted– nay, needed this girl under him at all costs.
And fast.
There was not a doubt that he wanted to break her. But the enjoyment he wished to take from it was not an instant one that would soon become tiring.
Rather, one which would only get better and more interesting by the day.
Seeping under her beautiful skin like a poison that scorches but is eternally inadequate to fully kill.
"No can do, you have been given to me by the King himself to keep and guard as I see fit" he couldn't resist the urge to caress the top of her hand with his thumb and gave in. "You are safe within the premises of the Estate and under my name. Though if you breach it…" Her throat gulped down a nervous bile as her cheeks elongated in horror and big eyes widened even more.
Good.
"I- If I breach it…?" Y/n couldn't help but edge on when a few moments passed in silence and the Duke refused to share more information.
Charles' shaky inhale was nerve-wracking as he willed a troubled expression onto his dark eyes. "You will surely be torn apart into hundreds of pieces before any measure of aid can even be attempted…" Her mouth fell open in shock at the revelation. "Word around here spreads fast, I hear…" He pretended to hesitate. "Everyone is curious whether it feels better or worse between the legs of an eastern woman…" She stopped her struggle, the jingle of her glass bangles dying down. "And if they also bleed red…" She suddenly shuffled closer, sniffling and nearly cowering into him.
There, there.
"M- My honor…!" Was all she could whimper after a few beats of haunting silence.
Charles sighed in a deliberately long breath, feigning sympathy as though he was not the sole reason of her being in her present circumstance. "Let me have it, and I shall protect it with my life" dipping his head forward, the Duke leaned in, the movement forcing a shaky gasp out of the girl. "I am afraid your only choices are that or who knows what at the hands of my landsmen–"
"I beseech you speak no more!" Shaky hands flew to cover her ears as she sobbed out loud at last, the movement causing the drape to move and reveal the heavy looking pendents that hung from her ears. Charles wondered if they would make the same sound as her bangles and anklets if he were to take her while she wore them.
The Duke bit his lip as he felt blood rush to his nether regions.
Oh, it truly had been a long time.
The feeling was nearly foreign.
Yet painfully inviting; welcoming.
"We are each our own devil, little one." He let go of her wrist, lowering his head as he went to move away. "I can see that you rather leave here, so I will–"
"N- No…" The girl slowly shook head at first and then resorted to vehemently doing it when he continued to turn away, stopping him by clinging to one of his arms before pulling his half risen body back down next to her. "Must not bring disgrace to grandfather's turban!" As they were a symbol of pride and honor in her culture.
Charles sighed in a commiserative manner. "I most sincerely wish there was a way I could help you" he could almost visualize her thought process as her furrowed eyebrows raised from their prior position.
"B- But you just said there was!" Now it was his turn to bring his eyebrows together although in faux confusion, unbeknownst to the girl.
"Did I?" When she desperately nodded with a spine-chilling eagerness that contrasted her prior abhorrence to his existence, Charles couldn't help but shift a little to try and relieve the growing ache between his legs.
"Y- Yes…" The Duke just had to crawl between her legs now.
"I am afraid I do not recall, sweet one" her tears only made the pressure that was ever-building worse.
"A- About… That… Just now…!" When Charles tilted his to the side in pretend puzzlement, she couldn't help but cry out in frustration. "A- About surrendering my honor to you to keep and protect!" His heart jumped at the way she said it, the thumping of the organ now matching that of his nether regions.
"But you did not seem to like the proposition t–"
"I like it! Please, I do!" She desperately squeezed his hand that she held in both of hers. "I agree! To all of it!" The girl had moved onto her knees. "Please, please guard me! I beg to be taken under your wing, Master, please!" Her heavy breasts jiggled against her blouse as she leaned towards him and pistoned her body up and down on her heels in a pleading manner. His eyes couldn't help but travel down to the inviting sight.
Heavens.
And to think that she was not even aware of just what she was doing.
Charles could not help but imagine her bouncing on something else entirely.
"Are you sure, little one?" The girl's nods were so eager she seemed more and more like just another bride by the passing second. "I do not–" mortified for her endangered honor, she bolted forward and pressed her lips to his, though for a while too brief for The Duke's liking.
In the blink of an eye, she was back in her spot on her knees, leaning back against the heels of her feet and looking down at her hands that still held his. "I- I am sure, M- Master…" A shaky breath escaped him at the way the word rolled off her tongue. "W- Want to be guarded and…" Her tongue darted out to swipe across her bottom lip while she mustered the strength required to utter the next words. "K-" she hesitated for a second now that she had somewhat calmed down. "Kept by you."
Charles could not help the triumphant smirk that spread across his still much handsome features. "If that truly is the case, then…" His free hand reached for her tear stained face as his index finger hooked under her chin to prop it up and closer to him. "Come here."
The girl's breaths were heavy as her palms grew a nervous cold against his, dampening the top of his hand with the clamminess that produced between them. Her shy eyelids fluttered along with her thick, curly lashes as she tried to look at him with their lowered position, the rise and fall of her chest increasing when Charles moved in until there was no proximity left between them.
The mass of hair lined along the edge of her eyes trembled when Charles' soft lips pressed against hers and his rather coarse mustache tickled the skin under her nose, causing her to squeeze his hand reactively and send another icy shiver down his spine. The Duke sighed against the warmth of her tender mouth, sensing that she was not really responding both due to the circumstance and lack of experience but the feeling was too thrilling for him to let go just yet.
Y/n whimpered when the man softly moaned into her mouth and tilted his head to further deepen the kiss, now moving the hand he had on her chin sideways along her jaw until he was cupping it to hold her face in place. The room filled with loud sounds of skin sucking against skin for short intervals and the girl soon found herself gasping for air.
"Down on your back, now" Charles growled and barely managed to hold back when she finally broke the kiss by softly biting down on his bottom lip to be allowed to breathe, the action only adding to his need in turn.
In a matter of a few moments, the unwilling girl was lying in The Duke's bed compliantly, cheeks flushed and eyes teary in contempt, yet legs parted in a welcoming manner as he pulled at the harnesses of his clothes while trying to triumph over his frantic breathing.
But there was only so much he could keep under control.
He could not recall the last time a pretty little thing had been presented for him like this, if ever.
And she looked so innocent, so sweet, so supple, submissive and small with her big, glassy kohl lined eyes full of fear.
The sound of the last of his garments hitting the ground was a loud thump in the deadly silent room as he silently marveled at just how vulnerable she really was.
Solely at this mercy.
The girl's jewelry jingled softly as she gasped under her breath and whipped her head in the other direction at the sight of the man; practically a stranger, yet devastatingly now the owner of her new life standing nude before her in all his glory.
Charles could not help the sick smirk that made its way on his face at the sight before he slowly mounted the bed like a serpent slithering towards its prey, movements silent and intentions vile. Y/n was forced whimper out a shaky breath when Charles crawled over her as she felt his very exposed body graze against her clothed one.
"Here, now." He placed one hand beside her head and used the other one to recenter her face to look up at him, palm unintentionally cupping her jaw as his thumb caressed the soft skin of her cheekbones. "Keep those pretty eyes on me, little one" her full chest touched against his each time she took another one of her exaggerated breaths, frozen in place as she looked up at him in horrified confusion.
Her deep brown eyes only widened more at what he did next when his hand left the side of her face to meet one of hers that lay limp at her sides. "Do you feel that, sweet girl?" Y/n's mouth fell open when Charles guided her trembling hand to his painfully hard sex organ and prompted her to touch it. "This is what you do to me…" His eyes traveled down her face and onto her much inviting spotless neck, descending down to the perfect curve of her swells that smoothed into a bump before coming back up to look into hers, "everytime, while fully clothed. I dare not imagine what I'd do if you were even half indecently clad" her face was hot with a deep blush.
Embarrassment, humiliation, shyness.
Charles moaned when she started moving her hand along his length, a petrified expression on her face as she grunted a little with having to reach so far down, though not daring to complain. "Good, good." He had had enough of the slow strokes, The Duke wanted something more fulfilling, faster, tighter, warmer if he did not want to end up bruised down there by the night's end. "Very good" his thick curls fell over his face when he dipped his head down to kiss her, a few strands of silver glinting in the dim light of his chambers as he pushed Y/n's arms above her head, the placing causing her swells to nearly fall out of her deep blouse.
When Charles pulled back to breathe, he cursed as he grinded against her before kissing her once more and then trailing his lips along her jawline, pecking every patch he touched. "Hmmm, keep them there" he referred to her arms, leaving them above her head and slowly bringing his own down by tracing the outlines of her body with them. "Tell me you'll keep your arms above your head for me because you're my good girl" his hands greedily groped her heavy chest, causing the girl to wince as her back arched in response to the foreign treatment, her neck craning to one side as Charles sucked and lapped at the tender skin his mouth was latched onto.
"I- I… ah!" Her eyes fluttered close and clenched when he suddenly bit down on the junction between her shoulder and neck before tracing his tongue over the sore area to cool the pang, hands squeezing her soft hips at the same time. "I w- will keep my arms a- above my head for you because I am your g- good girl M- Master" fuck.
There was a bewitching way about the way that name rolled off her tongue.
Charles could swear stars appeared in his vision as the pressure between his legs increased.
"Heavens, little one!" The Duke grunted as he snatched the fabric of her skirt upwards and away from her priorly covered legs, the overwhelmed man unable to hold back anymore as he moved to her swells now that he had left some satisfying marks of his passion along the width of her neck. "Where have you been all this time?"
Happy and safe at home with my family. A tear trickled down the side of Y/n's face as she shivered when his nude leg brushed against hers that was just as exposed as his now, the contact evoking a strange feeling within her. Goosebumps appeared on her skin and the hair on the back of her neck rose as Charles' lips hovered above the pulpy skin, the golden brown bristles of his beard scraping against its feathery softness.
"Hm?" Charles growled when she gave no response but then chuckled as he ran his tongue along the narrow valley of the cushions on her chest. "Silly little thing doesn't know what to say now, does she?" A shaky breath escaped him as the coarse back of his hand rubbed against her tender thighs that he had finally managed to expose by pushing the skirt all the way up to her waist. Y/n's eyes widened and she jumped up against his face with a start when his impatient hand snatched at the neckline of her blouse and pulled at the fabric until it separated from the rest of the cloth and tore off in a big piece. But before the girl could voice her shock, Charles beat her to it. "Tell me you've been obediently waiting on your Master, me, all this time" his demand was husky and harsh against her breasts that he was taking his time tasting and biting, the softness making him moan.
The girl gulped as she blinked through her teary vision, biting her lip in concentration and snaking her fingers around the bars of the headboard to keep them there like she had been ordered to. The last thing she could afford right now was to anger The Duke who was becoming less and less of a man by the passing second, every single little thing about him turning primal and beastly.
"I- I have been obediently–" the sickening words burnt on her tongue for she must have been a cradled babe when the man on top of her was in the prime of his youth. "Been… B–" her throat was parched as her tongue ran over her dry lips every now and then to create a semblance of hydration.
"Go ahead, sweet girl" Charles had begun rocking against her already, rubbing his curled length between his stomach and the top of her caramel thigh, the contrasts of their skins only adding to his pleasure. "You're doing so well for me" the slurp of his mouth against one of her hardened nipples overshadowed the sound of him ripping her underclothes away.
Y/n tried to close her legs, utterly uncomfortable and much too exposed as she felt herself getting thirstier than before, the strange surge of waves that his indecent touches and lewd words were causing in the base of her stomach tightening into a ball each time he squeezed her somewhere or dug his teeth into the soft cushions of her breasts, razorlike canines stinging against her plush swells.
"I- I have been obediently w- waiting on m- my Master, you, all this time..." Her back arched with another start when Charles' fingers dipped between her nude legs and touched the most private part on her body, the feeling of the soft, warm and moist bumpy flesh causing him to moan so loud against the breast that he was sucking at now after having marked its companion to his liking.
"Heavens…!" Was all the older man could gasp out as he let his fingers glide free over her folds and squishy petals to both get a feel of them and memorize every little detail possible. "You're wet, God–" his smug smile was so deep that his dimples appeared and he had to peek between his curls that fell over his eyes when he looked up at her. "You are not even aware of it, are you?" The girl had no idea what he meant indeed. "Oh, you sweet little dirty girl" as he attacked her lips with his desperate mouth, his free hand flew to restrain both of hers back above her head when the tip of his finger prodded at her tiny slit and the girl gasped, unaware of its existence altogether.
"Nuh, uh, little girl" Charles tutted between hot, breathy, wet and sloppy kisses, the red color that had been painted on the girl's lips now an increasing mess around both their mouths. "Good girls keep their arms up and eyes down under their Masters" he let go only to reach for one of her ear pendents and hurriedly felt it with his thumb before ducking down to push his tongue in her mouth to explore the tight enclosure, stifling the gasp she let out when he finally sheathed the finger he had been stroking her with inside her hot cavern. "Do you understand?" He was breathless when he pulled back momentarily to moan at the feeling of her stiff opening clenching around his digit. "Tell me you understand."
The girl struggled to breathe under his beast-like countenance, accidentally biting down on his lip albeit only to make him moan harder when he started to move his finger in the vertical fashion it was meant to be stimulated in. "I- I…" The pain, the buzzing excitement increasing in the pit of her stomach, the strange feeling which was starting to overpower the initial ache of the intimate intrusion as well as the way Charles was basically chewing away everywhere he could reach her with his mouth with such urgency that it seemed as though she was on the verge of disappearing and would do so any second.
"Please, go ahead" the tenderness in his desperate plea surprised both of them as Charles worked her open for his leaking cock that held a renown for splitting open tight little cunts. "You sound so sweet when you do" his free hand now explored her ear by grazing the fingertips along the crevices of the helix and cartilage, some places pierced with small and shiny studs with expensive stones in them, other spots having gold earrings hanging from them.
The Duke decided she was more extraordinary than everything he had ever seen in terms of beauty.
Perhaps to a point where it shifted to the realm of the sublime.
Immeasurably superior.
Feeling the buzz in her cunt get stronger when he added another finger to her warm enclosure of soaking flesh, the girl threw her head back and whined when Charles enveloped one of her sore nipples between his lips again. "I- I understand, Master." And that was it.
It had to be now.
The man tore himself away from her by sheer willpower for his chest wished not to be parted with hers much softer and inviting one, hard arms snaking under and around her back to reunite their contrasting skins as Charles' cock slipped into place against her opening as though it had been made only to do that.
"It will hurt a little," lifting her off the bed, he moved onto his knees to move better as he readied himself to sink his cock deep within her. "But then it will feel so good you will beg me to keep you in this bed for days on end" the confused girl did not want to agree but her stimulated body was betraying her in ways more than one. "Just trust me…" His features twitched when he finally lowered his hips and her somewhat prepared entrance allowed the tip to violate the hot cavern, the feeling overwhelming him into groaning aloud and for the girl to reach for his broad shoulders to sink her nails in, eyes and mouth widening alike.
Was it even supposed to be put in there?
She knew something happened behind the closed doors of a married pair for the fulfillment of marital duties and to create children but… this?
Y/n did not know so she was not sure but as Charles started to move his hips, guiding her body with the arms he had around it to accommodate his soft thrusts, she wondered why the queer heart-upsetting feeling that made her somewhat nauseous felt a very unusual kind of… good at the same time amidst of everything.
The girl could not recognize the feeling as pleasure just yet for she was yet to experience the end and get addicted to it like all did, but sweat broke out on her temples when she realized that she wanted him to go on, move faster, make the pain disappear and rub her in that way again to unravel the mysteries of this mysterious ball that was growing tighter and more suffocating by the passing second.
"I am the biggest cock you've ever had, huh little one?" Her cheeks were flushed as she frowned in pain, mouth agape. "Say it" his demands were primal growls as he felt himself twitch inside her, one hand coming to pat her cheek condescendingly to get her to listen better. "Tell me I am the biggest cock you've ever had" the burn of her nails was too good against his hard shoulders.
"Y- You are the biggest cock I h- have ever had, Master" Y/n's voice broke as she blinked away tears and stars, unaware of the meaning of her own words.
"That is correct" he groaned as though in pain, tugging his cock out of her before pushing it back in again. "I am the biggest cock you have ever had. The only cock you had ever had" the man was breathless against her. "The only one you will ever have. You're all mine" the promise was sealed with a furious kiss.
"P- Please…" For what, she knew not. But her head craned back as she jutted her chest out towards him to treat again the way he had been doing for the past few minutes, the marks that he had left on her skin hot and territorial.
"What is it, sweet girl?" Charles husked as one of Y/n's hands moved to brush the mop of his curls away to get a better look at his blue eyes. So remarkably handsome. Her eyebrows furrowed as the sheer manliness of his aged face brought an indescribable shiver down her spine and made her clench around him, causing the man to grunt in pleasure as his hips started to speed up.
"H- Hurts but feels so… so…" Charles smirked as he panted, struggling to move within her narrow passage of flesh. "D- Don't know but– oh," one of his hands dipped between her legs and the result was the most obscene sound she had ever made and he had ever heard. The genuineness of pure surprise and pleasure made The Duke's head spin. "Master!"
"Don't you worry your pretty little head, my sweet" Charles spoke through a mouthful of one of her dark brown nipples, slurping at it and his own spit as he went. "Just trust Master and lay back, he will take care of you" her toes curled as she let out the same sensual sound again, arching her back and going limp momentarily due to the shock of whatever her body was suddenly subjected to.
"I was made to protect you, only in death will I be kept from this oath" Charles whispered in her ear after moving to it, pressing kisses to it as well as her cheek to fuck out her orgasm to the best of his ability. It had been a while but that did not mean he had forgotten any of his infamous tricks. Y/n could only blink away the stars that appeared in her darkened vision as she barely made out his promise over the ringing of her ears coupled with the thumping of her heart.
Was it a good thing?
What could be done if it was not?
Though as Charles grunted before she felt something warm and wet fill her cavern, the man reuniting his arms around her waist to piston into her harder and deeper than he had done in the past few minutes, she felt a sense of permanency wash over her.
Something broken forever.
An angel completely tainted.
A cage eternally chained.
The rosy pink mix of dissolved purity and unholy discharge below their conjoined bodies was a testament to the fact.

Heyy <3 it's actually my 20th birthday today 🥺 and sadly my family doesn't really care about that ... could I maybe have a scenario with alastor on his lovers birthday and how he cheers her up because her birthday is kinda a sad day to her? It would mean so much to me :(
hi :) first of all, happy birthday!! i’m so sorry your family doesn’t take the time care about it. 20 is is a big accomplishment:) you should feel very proud of yourself. And of course, I’ll try to whip something up! I hope you enjoy it ❤️❤️
Parings: Alastor x reader
Summary: It’s your birthday but you’re pretty upset about it. But Alastor is there to comfort you.
You’re sitting on your shared bed with Alastor, trying to not get caught up in all the bad thoughts.
It was your birthday today and you’re not quite fond of them. It was a sad day to you. You weren’t looking forward to today.
You hear light knocking on the door and then Alastor steps in. He looks at you all in the dumps and can’t for the life of him figure out why.
“Dearest?” He asks, leaning on his cane and tilting his head. He is wearing his usual red suit but he has one of those cone birthday hats on, even though Angel and Husk made fun of him all of this morning, he’s still keeping it on for you.
He knows today is your birthday and, as the gentleman he is, planned a whole day is extravagant activities! He had all your favourite foods and desserts in the kitchen. He made them all from scratch for you, knowing you love his cooking.
You look up at him as tears start to form in your eyes.
Alastor’s eyes widen a bit and his heart aches. He rushes over to you and immediately takes you into his arms and holds you.
“What’s the matter, fawn?” He asks in a gentle tone. His radio voice being music to your ears.
“I just..” You hiccup, trying not to sob.
He understands now that birthdays may not be the best for you, and shushes you, holding you tighter.
“Shh, it’s alright.” He pats the back of your head and starts, “I know this day may not be the brightest for you, hm? I understand it may be difficult. But I want you to know something..”
He pulls back and looks at you, putting his hands on your cheeks and smiling. Not an ounce of dis genuine-ness coming from him.
“I am here. I’m not going nowhere, Y/n. It doesn’t matter what happened in the past or what any wretched person made you feel this way about your birthday. Whatever happened, it doesn’t have to be that way, hm?” He says, smiling at you.
You smile at him lightly and nod.
“Now! how about we celebrate this day instead of feeling bad?” He proposes. He gets up quickly and puts his hand out in front of you to take, with his cane in his other hand.
You’re still pretty sad, but Alastor is right. You sniffle and take his hand. Instantly feeling comforted.
“Now, my dear.. I prepared some lovely things for you and planned out our day to a tea! You’ll forget about all the sadness in no time!” He says, happily.
You walk into the kitchen area and gasp. He has made all your comfort foods and favourite foods/drinks that you don’t even remember telling him about. There’s a ribbon that goes across the room that says “Happy Birthday Y/n!” with his handwriting. On the left tables, there’s presents from him and the other residents of the hotel, a stuffed animal deer, and in the middle of the kitchen on the main table, there’s a cake that says happy birthday aswell.
He looks down at you and says, “I hope you like it.”
You immediately hug him, wrapping your hands around his waist.
His heart swells. He hopes he can make this the best day ever for you. And if you feel bad again, he will make sure to comfort you without even blinking an eye. He loves you dearly and he won’t let any silly thing ruin his lovers mood. He’ll be here for you today and every other day to come.
A/N: Also, Alastor wants to say something to you. (Play the video underneath)

hello, can you maybe do a one-shot of theo comforting y/n bcs she's been feeling insecure with her 2a + 2b hair😓 ( speaking from experience )
Date not so ruined
pairing: theo nott x reader
content: reader is feeling insecure about her hair and theo makes her feel better.
a/n: you're beautiful, hope this helped<33
It was date night, one which rarely occurred due to the burden both you and your boyfriend, Theo faced. Tonight was one of those nights when he would take you to a fancy restaurant and shower you with love.
You had started getting ready a while ago, thinking to yourself it wouldn't take long, but boy were you wrong.
It was your hair, aside from the fact that it was not the stereotypical perfect hair, it just wouldn't cooperate tonight. You had tried all the tips and tricks, your friends told you about to keep it from puffing up, but alas none worked.
You tried putting it in a bun, but the flyaways wouldn't settle, you tried keeping it open and that didn't work either, there must have been a hundred products you used and it still didn't do anything.
You wished your hair was normal, like all the other girls you saw on the daily, you looked yourself in the mirror and tears started to erupt from your eyes, travelling all the way down your cheek.
You would hate for Theo to see you like this, he would realize he could do so much better, he could have anyone else and she wasn't ready for him to leave her.
Theo's foot was bouncing up and down in the common room, he had been waiting for you for the past half an hour and was surprised to not find you there when he himself was a few minutes late.
He decided to go into your dorm and ask you rather than lose his mind trying to figure out what went wrong, he picked up the flowers he had bought for you from the table and headed straight to your dorm.
A slight knock on your door startled you, you knew who it was. You looked in the mirror again, this time not only the hair was bothering you but your eyes had swelled up as well.
Another sniffle escaped you and the voice you had grown to love asked you from across the door, "Are you crying, y/n?"
You cleared your throat, scared to be found crying over something this silly, you thought for sure he would think you were crazy, "No" you replied, and your voice cracked and you winced at it.
"Yes you are, I'm coming in, darling" Oh dear god, this was it, more tears welled up in your eyes, threatening to spill.
He was beyond panicked now. His girl was crying, and he would kill whoever made that happen.
The first thing you noticed when Theo entered your room were the flowers in his hand, your favorite, more tears spilled from your eyes, he was too good for you.
He kept the flowers down on your bedside table and sat beside you taking your hand in his, pulling you closer to him, but your turned your face away, "What happened, baby?" his hand tried to maneuver your face towards him.
"My hair, it's-," You wiped some of the tears from your face. "I don't feel pretty, Theo"
Theo sighed. He knew how insecure you were about your hair and how much it bothered you, he wanted to comfort you, wanted to tell you how you were the most beautiful person he's ever met.
He pulled on your hand, making you stand up, tugging you along to the other side of the room where your mirror was.
"You can't see how pretty you are l, but I can. I love your hair, how dare you say they aren't perfect." He placed a kiss on your forehead. "These eyes, god I could be lost in them all day, tears shouldn't be there"
He kissed all of your tear stains, one by one. "These hands, your pretty hands" he held one up, "I could kiss them all day" and he did.
You were laughing now, albeit lightly, but you were still laughing and his eyes glinted at the sound.
"Most importantly, your heart, which loves me and I thank god every day for it" Finally he kissed your lips, tasting the salt from your tears and the cherry from your lipgloss, you kissed him back, wondering what did you do to deserve him.
"Oh, and," His hand travelled to his hair, which was neatly gelled and he ran his hand through making it messy and letting it stick out in all directions. "Perfect, isn't it?"
You smiled at him, kissed his cheek while telling him you love him, and he said it back, he always did. Taking his hand in yours, you went out of the room, ready for your date.

Under the Weather
Pairing: Matt Murdock x Fem!Reader Word Count: 2.2k
Summary: Despite the fact that he's coming down with a cold, Matt refuses to heed your advice on staying inside instead of running around Hell's Kitchen in the freezing autumn rain. In the morning, you're left with an even sicker, more stubborn Devil.
Warnings/tags: 18+; Nothing but fluff and a stubborn, flirty Devil
a/n: Yet another little fluffy fic for Mandy's Sweater Weather Challenge by the lovely @she-likesorchids! Can you tell I had to make sure all my boys got a fic? This one was for the prompt "Let's just stay in bed." Feedback is always appreciated!
Finally finished with the after dinner cleanup, you washed your hands in the kitchen sink, the pounding of the rain outside the apartment a persistent backdrop to the evening. As you turned off the faucet and reached over to grab the towel from the nearby hook, you heard the bedroom door slide open. Glancing up from your place at the sink as you dried your hands, you spotted Matt exiting the bedroom dressed in his black suit, his black mask on his head but not yet pulled down over his face. You frowned at the sight of him, eyes focusing back on the windows covered in rainfall as the light from the billboard across the street flooded through them, coating the living room in a dark blue.
Focusing back on Matt, you hung up the towel before you began to make your way through the kitchen towards him. You noticed how he'd stopped mid-step on his way to the stairs leading to the roof access as you walked, his head shifting over his shoulder towards you.
"Matt," you said, tone lightly chastising.
It didn’t escape your notice how he'd instantly stiffened at the sound of your voice. You could also tell by the way his shoulders were slightly slumped forward and the faint red tinge visible on his nose that he still felt a bit under the weather. But of course, Matthew being Matthew, he apparently was still planning to go out. You should have known as much.
"Maybe you should stay in tonight," you suggested carefully, eyeing the thin material of his shirt as the rain only continued to dump onto the roof of the apartment. "You know, like we talked about earlier? At dinner?"
He turned fully towards you, straightening his back as his sightless gaze landed on your chest. His eyes narrowed a bit and you knew he was about to pretend the big bad Devil wasn't sick, but the faint sniffle from his stuffed up nose ruined whatever effect he thought he was about to have on you.
“I’m fine, sweetheart," he told you.
His voice was a little distorted because of the congestion and you scoffed immediately. Crossing your arms over your chest, you quirked a brow at him.
"You're sick, Matt," you pointed out. "You need rest. You said yourself earlier that nothing was going on tonight in Hell’s Kitchen. So stay in and take care of yourself. You'll be no help to anyone in the city if something actually happens and you're even sicker."
Matt shook his head at you, that stubborn expression still on his face. Of course he wasn't going to listen. He was going to ignore what he needed to do for himself for the sake of the people of Hell’s Kitchen, and as much as you loved and admired that about him, he really needed to learn one of these days that he was still only human. He needed to take care of himself.
But getting that through his head was damn near impossible.
"I don't get sick," he countered, voice still noticeably off. "I’m completely fine, sweetheart. I'm just going out for a bit to keep an eye on things. You don't need to wait up for me."
“Matt, it’s barely above freezing outside right now!” you exclaimed, throwing a hand towards the living room window. “And it’s raining . Ten degrees less and that would be snow right now! What you're wearing isn't even remotely warm. You’re going to make yourself incredibly sick if you go running around rooftops tonight dressed in that !”
Matt’s lips drew into a devilish smirk, a smug expression overtaking his features. The look might have had the desired effect on you if he hadn’t sniffled loudly yet again, his red nose scrunching up as he did.
“You like this suit,” he countered.
“No,” you said, holding up a hand as you corrected him. “I like how you look in this suit, Matt. I absolutely hate how little protection it offers for knives, baseball bats, and cold weather. There’s a massive difference.”
“I’ll be just fine,” he assured you.
Matt reached a hand up, pulling his mask down until it covered his face, leaving only his lips and chin visible. The gesture was meant to end the conversation, you were aware of that. Sighing in exasperation, you rolled your eyes at him. You knew damn well he was going to be miserable come morning.
“We all know you’re just going to do what you want anyway,” you grumbled, crossing the rest of the way over towards him. “Just be careful, okay? I don’t need you bleeding out and sick later.”
“I’m not sick,” he countered immediately.
“Mhmm,” you hummed out, leaning over to plant a kiss on his cheek, just below the black fabric of his mask. “Sure you’re not, babe. I’ll remember that when you’re clinging to me tomorrow and complaining about how awful you feel.”
You could tell by the way his lips pursed and the fabric had shifted along his face that he was shooting you an irritated look. The corner of your own mouth quirked up into a smirk. You’d seen Matt sick a couple of times before and he was always absolutely desperate for physical comfort–though you figured with his heightened senses, being sick felt a whole lot worse to him. And you figured it probably muted his usual ability to navigate the world as he was used to, especially with a stuffed up nose affecting his sense of smell.
“I do not get clingy ,” he disagreed with obvious distaste.
“Whatever you say, Matty,” you replied, lightly patting him on the arm.
You turned, making your way over towards the leather couch. If Matt was going to run around outside in the equivalent of tissue paper while he was sick, you were going to relax and watch some television while being smart and not going outside in the freezing autumn rain.
“I do not get clingy!” he stated again.
Abruptly he turned, storming his way over towards the staircase. You settled into the cushions of the couch with a shake of your head.
“Alright, you don’t get clingy when you’re sick,” you told him.
As you picked up the television remote from the coffee table, you saw Matt had paused yet again at the sound of your voice. Head turning just over his shoulder, cocked a bit to the side, you didn’t miss the deep frown spreading over his lips.
“You didn’t mean that,” he pointed out, tapping a gloved hand to his ear. “I could hear your heart.”
Rolling your eyes playfully at him, you flashed him a grin before you focused on the television across the room. “Of course I didn’t,” you told him, turning on the TV. “Because you do get clingy when you’re sick.”
Matt rumbled out a noise of frustration, stalking his way up the stairs and towards the roof access without another word. He obviously knew he wasn’t winning this argument with you. You began scanning through the channels, looking for a fall baking show to watch as he pulled the door open, the sound of the rain outside briefly louder until the door closed with a sharp clang after him. Shaking your head again, you finally settled on what you were looking for.
“You’re going to be so miserable in the morning,” you muttered under your breath, aware he could still hear you.
°•°•°•°•°•°
Something ice cold landed on your bare stomach and your eyes immediately snapped open, the chill pulling you straight from your sleep. A miserable, muffled groan met your ears over the sound of light rain pattering outside as your barely conscious mind tried to quickly piece everything together.
You were in bed with Matt curled up against the back of you. Apparently it was his icy cold hand on your stomach that had woken you. He shifted behind you, his frigid hand on your bare stomach drawing you further towards him just before he buried his face against the back of your neck. You shivered at how cold he felt against you–Matt was usually a furnace who kept you warm.
“Matt, you’re freezing,” you whispered, trying to glance over your shoulder at him.
“I know,” he groaned, pulling himself in tighter to the back of you. “You’re so warm, though.”
You frowned immediately at the thick, congested sound of his voice. He sounded far worse than he had last night. And that was the only thing keeping you from your usual reaction to Matt’s nearly naked body wrapped so tight around yours.
“You’re sick,” you pointed out.
He groaned again, shaking his head against the back of your neck. “Don’t say it,” he begged, his voice almost a whine. "Don't even say it, sweetheart."
Sighing at his plea for you to not rub the consequences of his actions in his face, your hand dropped down to cover the one he had on your stomach. You did your best attempting to warm it up, rubbing your hand back and forth across his large one. Matt hummed out a pleased noise in response, the sound quite nasally.
“Fine, but you’re sick, Matt,” you pointed out. “I need to take your temperature. See what medicine we still have in the apartment for you to take because I might need to run to the store." You paused when he pitifully moaned in protest at that. "And you’re not going into the office to help Foggy with that thing this morning. I’ll call him myself. Him and Karen can handle things on their own. You need rest.”
“Only if you stay with me,” he murmured, his arm tightening around your waist. “You’re so warm and comfortable. Don't want you to go. Let's just stay in bed .”
Clearing your throat, you pitched your voice lower as you grinned and said, “I’m not clingy, sweetheart.”
Matt groaned again, burying his face further into your neck. “ Not funny,” he muttered.
“Maybe to you,” you countered, still grinning, “but I think it’s quite pertinent.” Patting the back of his hand that was holding you firmly to the front of himself, you said, "I need to get up, Matty. Need to call Fog for you and find the thermometer. And check the medicine cabinet to see what we have. Maybe make us both some hot tea while I'm up."
You felt the way he shook his head once again against you, muttering out a noise of disagreement. He began shifting behind you in the bed, soon tossing one of his legs over the top of both of yours. It was so easy to forget how muscular and powerful Matt was sometimes because you were so used to seeing him walking around the apartment in barely anything most of the time, his muscles often on display. But his single leg was solid and heavy , easily trapping you beneath the weight of it as he refused to release his hold on you and let you up.
" Matt !" you laughed out, reaching your hand down to playfully swat his thigh. "I'm trying to help you!"
"No. Don't want it," he muttered, words muffled against your skin. " Mine ," his congested voice nearly purred as he curled possessively around you.
Your eyes widened in surprise, another little laugh falling out of you. That was new.
"Matt, I at least need to call Fog and get your temperature–you're positively freezing," you told him. "Let me help you. Please?"
He grumbled discontentedly in response, not making any attempt to move. You shifted as best as you could in his restricting embrace, trying to get a look at him.
" Please ?" you tried again, drawing the word out.
It was a moment before he released a resigned sigh beside your ear, his warm breath brushing over your shoulder a sharp contrast to his cold skin pressed against you.
"Will you come back to bed after?" he asked. "Stay with me?"
"If that's what you want, I can stay with you for a bit longer this morning," you relented. "But only after I get all of that done."
Matt hummed out a noise of disagreement, shaking his head. "Uh uh," he mumbled. "I'll give you ten minutes."
You laughed once again, unable to help yourself. "Excuse me? You'll give me ten minutes?" you asked him. "What happens if I take longer than that?"
Gradually he drew his thick thigh from off the top of you, his cold hand retreating from your stomach soon after. Your brows briefly furrowed before he gave your ass a light, unexpected smack. Instantly your eyes widened in shock at the gesture.
"The Devil will bring you back to bed," he warned.
That familiar dark, gravelly tone of his was hard to miss, even with how congested he sounded. A jolt of something shot through you at his threat, the hair on the back of your neck raising. Matt rumbled out a noise behind you in response to your body's reaction.
"Better hurry," he teased. "Time is running out, sweetheart."
Tossing the covers off of yourself, you climbed out of bed and grabbed your phone from the nightstand. Though as you headed to the bathroom to check the medicine cabinet and grab the thermometer, you admittedly found yourself curious about what a sick Devil might do to you if you took too long.

part 1 | part 2 | part 3 | part 4 | part 5 (these make one big story, you won't understand this part without the others)
day 06: true & misunderstandings
Eddie doesn’t say anything for a while, filling their bubble with a silence so long that Steve’s entire being re-centres itself around Eddie’s hand in his, focusing on the warmth, on each minute twitch, and on the way his thumb aches to move and stroke the back of Eddie’s hand.
A silence that is disrupted in the gentlest of ways when Eddie, trembling just as much as Steve, says, “I love you.”
Steve blinks, not entirely sure for a second or two if he heard that right, or if that was just another thought his own, pressing and urgent and so, so real.
“I’m in love with you,” Eddie says again, and Steve is sure that he didn’t imagine it this time — but that doesn’t make it make sense. It doesn’t feel real. Eddie sounds so sad about it, too, like he is confessing to Steve a crime that has been weighing him down forever, something that he can’t be redeemed from.
It makes the dam break, the image of loving him as an irredeemable act, an unforgivable crime, a sin irremissible. Years and years of learning how to be in love with Eddie and not being too much, learning not let that consume him — years and years of trying and failing — all come crashing now as he hears that sad little voice.
Steve as the one who’s in the way of Eddie having a good life, a great life, a happy little bubble for himself in a world that used to be so cruel to him. Steve as the one who makes Eddie so incredibly, unbearably dejected.
It eats away at him, tears away at his soul so much that he barely even registers the words that belong to the sad, sad voice.
I’m sorry, he wants to say, but the words get stuck in his throat; and Eddie asked him to listen.
“It’s always been you, Steve. To me, it’s… You’re it. Always have been. But I had to move on, you know? After years, I just… God.”
Eddie’s collecting himself, gathering his thoughts, trying to find the right words that are slowly trickling through the fog in Steve’s mind and settle just behind his stinging eyes.
“Remember when I told you I used to have a crush on you? Years ago. And how that was all in the past, and that I had moved on? Well,” he huffs, nerves wracking through him as he squeezes Steve’s hand repeatedly. “Turns out, not so much. Don’t think it ever will be. But I thought, you know, I thought I was past the stage where it consumed me. Because you were still in my life, still right there, still happy, happier than I think I could make you, and… You were there. Still. After all those years, you were the one thing I hadn’t ruined. and I couldn’t tell you. I had Chrissy, I was— I was getting over you. I could breathe again, I could love again. But not… Not with everything I have, because that’s still with you. Only with you.”
Eddie lets out a shaky breath, his hand shaking now, and Steve wants to let go, wants to turn around and wrap himself around Eddie, hold him, his face pressed to the back of Eddie’s neck as he listens, feeling those vibrations in his cheeks as he talks.
He doesn’t. He stays right where he is, but the urge is becoming stronger and stronger.
Eddie loves him. And he sounds like he is about to cry because of it. Steve still wants to apologise.
A sniffle. “Chrissy knows. She said she’s the same, that she has a person like that, too. I never expected to love her as much as I do, but it’s a… It’s a different kind of love. And if I got to spend the rest of my days with her, life would be good, you know? Like you said about Robin. She said the same, said we’re doing the right thing. But—”
Eddie stops here, his voice growing hoarse and his breath hitching a little as if he’s holding back tears. Steve wipes away his own.
“But I don’t want a world where losing you is the right thing, Stevie.”
They both let out a sob at that, the weight of Eddie’s words settling inside Steve as he becomes aware of what Eddie is saying. Of what he is doing.
What are you doing?
Changing the world.
“I’ve done everything,” Eddie continues, purely and utterly heartbroken. “Everything, to get over you. And it seems that I did it so well, because now I’m losing you. And it seems like I got it all wrong, too, because— Because I don’t wanna lose you. I don’t ever wanna lose you. But you have to know. I need you to know that I’m so in love with you I can barely even breathe. Or, or think. When you’re there, but especially when you’re gone. Loving you is part of who I am. It’s like, it’s like a rule in the universe, you know. A law of nature. Simple biology, like you’re the sunshine and I’m a measly dandelion, and there’s so much more of me because of you. And when you’re gone, then so am I.”
Eddie’s crying now, and Steve pulls his knees to his chest, burying his face in them to hide he way he’s falling apart. Because this is not happening.
“And if you wanna leave, if I’ve done something you can’t live with, that’s— I won’t stop you. But please, I would just… I’d like to understand, Stevie. Because I love you. So much and for so long that I know I will never stop. It's just what I do in this life. And if I’m gonna have to stop, I need to know why.” A beat. “Please?”
There are no words coursing through Steve’s head as he tries and tries and tries to say something, anything. There is no, I love you. There is no, Because I can’t bear the thought of watching you live a life with someone else when all I ever do is imagine my life with you.
There is no, Tell me why you love me. No, Tell me you love me. Say it again.
All there is, all that comes out, is, “I’m sorry.”
And behind him, Eddie’s shoulders fall. He slumps, just a little, but Steve can feel it in his tension-riddled body.
Steve wants to scream. Wants to be brave like Eddie and bear his heart, because he loves him too! He loves him and maybe they can get it right, maybe their loves can match, maybe they can fix this.
But all the words get stuck in his throat, because they have seven years of practice.
“You don’t get to do this,” Eddie says quietly, just barely louder than a whisper, and Steve tears at himself from the inside out. “You don’t get to just… Say that. I’m sorry. Leaving me like that, after all of this. After everything? You’re sorry? No, fuck you, Stevie.”
Eddie’s hand is still in his, his hold unwavering, as if he’s holding Steve in place. And he is. Eddie is an anchor, he’s the north star, he’s— fuck!
“You’re everything,” Steve rasps after all, the dams broken and breaking, seven and more years of keeping the words to himself come flooding now.
He turns around this time, freeing his hand from Eddie’s, who tries to hold him tighter for one second, two, three, before Steve’s head lands between his shoulder-blades and he finally allows Steve’s arms to come up around him.
“You’re everything, Eddie, and when you told me you used to have a crush on me, I wanted to tell you that I’m right there with you. I wanted to tell you that, finally, finally I was right there with you.”
He says the words into the space between his heart and Eddie’s, feeling tremors underneath his hands. Breath is scarce as the air in his lungs is filled with Eddie once more, that familiar scent of him, everything about him; everything.
“But then you weren’t there anymore, said it was all in the past, and I had missed my chance. But I didn’t care. Because, Eddie Munson, you’re impossible to un-love. It never stopped. Never, never stopped. And it was fine, it was fine. But then you got engaged. And I can’t watch you anymore, Ed. I can’t watch you be the happiest you’ve ever been and have it not be my fault. I can’t watch you live that life you’ve always hated, the life that I always imagined having with you. The life I thought you’d grow to love because of me. I love you, Eddie. But I can’t do this. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
Underneath him, Eddie is still as Steve silently cries into the back of his t-shirt, clinging to him now, holding him. For one last time, maybe.
Silence falls as they both just breathe air that’s filled with confessions and apologies.
And then, eventually, after an eternity or two, Eddie says, “I’m not marrying Chrissy.”
Steve’s heart stops, just for one second. He blinks. Swallows. Doesn’t dare to hope. “You’re not?”
Eddie shakes his head, reaching for one of Steve’s hand where it’s splayed across his middle. “No. She, uhm. She said we shouldn’t. Said I should get my boy instead.”
“Wh— Why?”
“Stevie,” Eddie breathes. “Because it’s you. And I… Tell me I’m not late again. Tell me I didn’t fuck it up again, tell me there’s a chance.”
What are you doing?
Changing the world.
Steve lets out a breath, breathing out Eddie, unreasonably scared that if he lets go of the air in his lungs, Eddie will disappear again. Leave again. Get over him again, for real this time.
“Is it true?” he asks instead of answering.
“Is what true?”
“What you said. That you love me. And that Chrissy knows. And that it’s fine. That it can be okay. That it… That we… I’m scared, Eddie.”
“What are you scared of, Stevie?” A whisper, a question so gentle that Steve lets out a pathetic whimper as he tries not to cry again.
“Me,” he says. “Fucking it up. Not making you happy. Not getting it right. Freezing like I always do, because it’s muscle memory. I’m— I don’t wanna make you sad, Eddie.” And you sound so sad. You already do.
Eddie breathes deeply and moves his hand, lacing his fingers with Steve’s as he leans back slightly, further into Steve’s embrace.
“It’s true,” he whispers. “All of that and more. And I’m scared, too. Because that’s not how I planned it, you know? Three in the morning with more tears than anything else, sounding and feeling like the world’s gonna end. You deserve a better love than that, Stevie, but… It’s sorta all I have, you know? If you’ll let me. If you want to. We can be scared together and figure out how to not be that anymore.” Eddie lifts their linked hands to his lips and brushes a kiss over Steve’s knuckles. “It’s all true.”
Steve lets out the breath he was holding, sinking further into Eddie, holding him tighter. Daring to brush a kiss to the back of his neck — a featherlight one that is barely more than a touch of lips to overheated skin. It makes Eddie’s breath hitch, so he does it again.
“Can you stay?”
“Hm?”
“The night. Here, I mean. Can you stay here tonight? I wanna… Just wanna hold you for a bit. Is that okay?”
“Yeah, Stevie. That’s okay. Do you wanna go to bed?”
He nods, still tightening his arms around Eddie, scared that he’ll leave. Scared to wake up if he moves. Scared to— Just scared.
“Hey, I’ve got you, c’m’ere” Eddie whispers, somehow winding himself out of Steve’s hold and pulling him up to stand.
And there, standing face to face with Eddie, everything is slowly starting to become real. The confessions. The broken dams, years and years of pent up tension, of hidden emotion and a yearning so deep it’s left scars, little ridges in his rib cage from where his heart has broken and healed and soared and burned and fluttered over and over and over again.
It has all come to this. Here. Eddie’s hands in his, his thumb stroking gentle patterns on Steve’s skin.
“I’ve got you,” Eddie whispers again, not moving. Only winding his arms around Steve’s shoulders when he leans in, tucking his head under Eddie’s chin, holding him tightly.
“I love you.”
Eddie smiles against the crown of his head, Steve can feel it with everything he is. “Yeah?”
He nods, mirroring the smile he cannot see. “Yeah.”
“Then let’s get you to bed, yeah? We can talk more in the morning?”
It’s a question that makes Eddie sound so small, so insecure — like he half expects Steve to take it back, to run away again and leave him. It breaks his heart, what he put Eddie through. What he put himself through. What they have put themselves and each other through, inevitable as it was.
“Yeah,” he promises, taking Eddie’s hand again and leading him to the bedroom, blanket thrown over his shoulder. “We’ll talk more tomorrow. I think you’ll have to explain again.”
“I will. As often as you need.”
I know, Steve thinks. I know you will. I love you.
It still feels like a dream, falling asleep with Eddie in his arms. It still feels like it will burst the moment he makes a wrong move, the second he blinks too hard or breathes too long.
He’s still trembling a little, still reeling, still confused and tentative in his hope. But at least this time Eddie is with him, stroking his cheek like he, too, can’t believe that this is all real. Like he, too, is scared.
But maybe they can be scared together. Maybe they can make it work. Maybe their love can match.
For the first time in weeks, months, years, or even forever, Steve falls asleep with a smile on his face, his forehead pressed to Eddie’s.

The building was a ruin, a pile of rubble, and the ground was covered in vines and roots, spreading out and delving deep into the ground. The street was cracked and broken, and the air was thick with the smell of death and decay.
Wolves, witches and any other enemy to the vampires were clambering over the ruins, hacking away at the wood, taking whatever they could.
Maeve was giddy, stumbling around cheering and encouraging the rabble. You watched her hack off a smaller branch and start whittling at it with a dagger, laughing and dancing around.
"Take as much as you can! Don't stop!" She shouted, a feral grin on her face.
She handed off her newly made stake to one of the wolves, who looked at it, confused.
"What am I supposed to do with this?" He asked, his brow furrowing.
"Stab a fucking vampire!" She yelled, and then turned back to her task, snapping off another branch.
You were watching from afar, sitting on the curb, your mind still reeling. You couldn't believe it. They were all gone.
Agnes, Beatrice, Ava, Liza, the coven, all of your friends, gone. But you could still feel their magic inside you, their essence lingering. It made you sick, the way it made you feel powerful, but it also filled you with guilt.
"This is the best day of my life," Maeve said, skipping over to you, her arms laden with branches.
"Really?" You asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh yes, definitely," she said, dropping her load on the ground, her eyes alight with joy, "it's not every day that you destroy a thousand year old evil and become a god."
"You're not a god," you said, shaking your head.
"Oh but I am," she said, her smile growing, "and so are you! Can't you feel it? The power, the energy, the magic, it's all ours now, the city is ours!"
She was practically vibrating with excitement, and you couldn't help but smile.
"It is pretty amazing," you admitted, looking up at the giant tree, "but I can't believe they're all gone."
Maeve's expression grew somber and she sat down next to you, wrapping her arm around your shoulders.
"I know," she said, squeezing you close, "but it's okay. We all knew the risks, and we all did this together. They'll be watching over us, guiding us."
You nodded, sniffling and wiping the tears from your face.
"I didn't think I would make it, honestly," she said, letting out a soft laugh, "I was so sure I was gonna die, I didn't think I was strong enough, or smart enough. But I did, and I'm here, and now, we're gonna win."
You looked at her, a smile tugging at your lips, and then a werewolf jumped onto the curb, brandishing his new stake.
"I dedicate this stake to Klaus Mikaelson! The great abomination!" He bellowed, and the crowd of vengeful rabble cheered, pumping their fists and screaming. "I shall sink it into his heart and watch the life drain from his eyes!”
The group erupted into roars and cheers, and the werewolf ran off, the crowd following him, chanting and howling.
"That werewolf is too stupid to realize he's dead already," Maeve said, shaking her head.
"Then why give them the stakes?" You asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Because they need to feel useful," she said, shrugging. "And maybe there is a chance, like throwing a bunch of darts at a dart board. Who knows? Maybe one will hit the bullseye."
"Maybe," you said, staring up at the giant tree. "It's up to us though, isn't it? To finish this, to kill Klaus."
"Yep," Maeve said, smiling. "Then the rest of them… Including Elijah....," she trailed off, giving you a sideways glance.
"Yes, Maeve," you said, rolling your eyes, "I know."
"Do you?" She asked, her tone growing serious.
"Yes, and I'm fine. I don't- ....I won't let my feelings cloud my judgment," you said, holding her gaze.
"They died for this, Agnes, sweet Bea...," her eyes welled up with tears, "they gave their lives for this. I need to know, if it comes down to him or us, which will you choose?"
You hesitated, her words hitting you like a ton of bricks. You looked away, trying to avoid her stare, but she grabbed your chin, forcing you to look at her.
"Choose."
"I will choose freedom from oppression always," you said, your voice low. "Even if it means killing him."
She studied your face, searching for any hint of a lie, and then nodded, letting go of your chin.
"I know we've never exactly been close... But it's just us, you and me now," she said, her voice barely above a whisper, "I've got your back, and you've got mine. Right?"
"Right."
She smiled and stood up, stumbling a little as she dusted herself off, looking around at the wreckage and all the people grabbing branches and chunks of wood.
"We don't have long, I don't think we can hold this magic forever. Not if we want to live," she said, turning back to you. "That means we have to go now," she nodded towards the tree.
"Now? Like right now?" You asked, surprised.
"Yeah, why not?" She said, shrugging, "we're going up against the biggest, baddest, most powerful vampire ever, the element of surprise is the only advantage we have. So, let's use it."
"I just thought, I don't know, we would have more time," you said, running your fingers through your hair.
"More time for what? More time for us to lose our nerve? To think about certain suit wearing obstacles? We gotta act now, while we can," she said, the corners of her mouth turning up slightly.
You sighed, knowing she was right, knowing that there was no point in thinking about anything else. You couldn't save him, you had sacrificed too much for this already, it had to be worth it.
You stood up, giving her a small nod.
"Alright, let's do this."
The city was under siege, the French Quarter on fire. Werewolves had returned to the streets, attacking vampires left and right, their stakes at the ready. Witches were casting spells, creating traps and ambushes, luring vampires into their clutches.
It was chaos, the kind that Klaus usually relished, but this was different. This wasn't fun. He was being hunted, and he could feel the rage bubbling beneath the surface, the urge to destroy everything in his path.
“Niklaus!" Elijah's voice cut through the noise, and Klaus turned to see his brother rushing towards the entrance to the compound.
Marcel stumbled inside, covered in blood, a werewolf bite on his neck and a stake sticking out of his back. Elijah caught him, helping him to his feet.
"What the bloody hell is going on out there?" Klaus demanded, grabbing Marcel's shoulders and shaking him.
"Witches," Marcel said, gasping for air, the werewolf venom burning through his veins.
Elijah pulled the stake out of Marcel's back, guiding him to a sofa. Klaus watched them, his eyes narrowed.
"Witches are causing this?" He asked, his anger growing, "they're the ones responsible for the chaos in the Quarter?"
"Not just the Quarter, the whole city," Marcel said, wincing.
Klaus let out a sigh and bit down on his wrist, offering his blood to Marcel. Marcel hesitated, his eyes meeting Klaus'.
"Just take it, Marcel," Klaus said, his patience waning.
Marcel took Klaus' wrist, drinking the blood. The wound healed and the venom was neutralized, leaving Marcel weak and exhausted.
"What had made them so bold? Why now?" Klaus asked, pacing the room.
"Maybe it had something to do with this," Elijah said, his voice oddly quiet, and Klaus looked over at his brother, his gaze falling on the wooden stake.
"Is that?" He started to ask, but the words died on his lips.
"White oak," Elijah finished, holding it out to him.
Klaus stared at it, his expression completely blank, like his brain couldn't process what he was seeing.
"Impossible," he whispered, taking the stake.
"Apparently not," Elijah said, and Klaus could hear the fear in his voice.
"Where did this come from?" He asked, his hands shaking, he looked at Marcel, who was slowly getting up off the sofa.
"The wolves were the ones who attacked me," Marcel said, rubbing the spot where the stake had pierced him. "I killed a couple of them, but the rest fled. I think they are planning on attacking you,”
Klaus' eyes darkened and he stormed out of the room, the stake still in his hand. Elijah quickly chased after him, catching up to him before he exited the compound.
"Niklaus, wait," Elijah said, grabbing his brother's arm.
Klaus stopped and turned to face Elijah, his eyes filled with fury.
"They will pay for this," he growled, his grip tightening on the stake.
"There could be more out there," Elijah said, his eyes pleading, "we need to regroup, to plan, we cannot rush into this."
"You expect me to do nothing?" Klaus hissed, his anger rising. "You think I'll stand by and let my home burn? That I'll let these insolent fools threaten my family?"
"If they get to us, our sirelines go with us, you know that," Elijah said, his expression steely.
Klaus growled, his eyes flashing yellow, he hated feeling hopeless, stuck, weak.
"So what do you propose?" He spat, his words dripping with venom. "You want me to sit and wait for the axe to fall?"
"We need to stay here, let the vampires and werewolves handle each other," Elijah said, keeping his voice steady.
"It's not the wolves!" Klaus roared, pushing Elijah back, "it's the witches, they're the ones behind this."
"Niklaus," Elijah said, his voice soft, "how could they possibly-"
"I don't know!" Klaus yelled, throwing his arms in the air, his frustration and fear overwhelming him.
He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself. His mind was racing, going a hundred miles an hour. He had to fix this, had to end this, he couldn't let anything happen to his family, his home.
Suddenly, it was like a light switch had flipped in his brain. His eyes widened and he turned to look at Elijah, his expression grim. He sped past him, up the stairs to the study, with Marcel and Elijah quickly following behind.
Klaus ripped the portrait off the wall and opened the safe, pulling out a small, wooden box. He held it in his hands, staring at it, his jaw clenching.
"What's that?" Marcel asked, his brow furrowing.
Klaus didn't respond, just opened it, and Elijah felt his blood run cold, his heart shatter. It was gone.
"Impossible," Elijah said, shaking his head.
Klaus threw the box across the room, the wood splintering, embedding into the wall. He was breathing heavily, his entire body was tense.
"I told you," he muttered, his hands clenched into fists. "I told you what she was... what she was capable of..."
Elijah stared at him, his heart sinking. He remembered the day that he had met you, the first time you had come to the compound. He remembered how beautiful you were, so soft and full of light. How could you possibly be capable of such a betrayal?
Klaus lunged at Elijah, his fist colliding with his jaw, and Elijah stumbled backwards. He recovered quickly, his own fists flying, striking Klaus across the face.
They brawled, punches and kicks being exchanged, and Elijah grabbed Klaus, throwing him into a table. They crashed to the floor, grappling and struggling.
"You have always been blinded by your feelings for her!" Klaus spat, his fangs bared, his face inches from Elijah's.
Marcel grabbed at him, trying to pull him off Elijah, but Klaus shrugged him off, pinning his brother to the ground.
"You fell for the oldest trick in the book! My noble brother, always willing to see the best in people, even when they're plotting against you," he snarled, his eyes flashing yellow, "how many times has it cost us, Elijah? How many times have we nearly died because of your stupid sentimentality?"
Elijah snarled, pushing Klaus back and landing a blow to his nose, knocking him to the ground. He pinned him down, his hands wrapped around Klaus' throat.
"You think I'm the fool?" Elijah growled, his grip tightening, "it was you who pushed the witches too far, you took away their hope, their freedom! You're the reason they're fighting back!"
Klaus grabbed the stake and jammed it into Elijah's neck, his eyes widening in shock. He pulled it out, and Elijah gasped, falling to the floor.
"Enough!" Marcel yelled, and he yanked the stake from Klaus' hand.
Klaus stood up, breathing heavily, staring down at his brother, his face filled with rage. Elijah coughed and sputtered, blood spilling from his mouth, the wound slowly healing.
"If we are going to survive this, we need to work together. Save the family drama for later," Marcel said, his voice hard.
Elijah stood up, wiping the blood from his face.
"He's right," he said, his voice hoarse.
"So, what do we do?" Marcel asked, glancing between the two brothers.
"We hunt them down," Klaus growled, his eyes filled with fury. "Those foul witches and their ilk."
"And then?" Elijah asked, his expression grave.
"We kill them all," Klaus said, his voice barely above a whisper, and the room grew quiet, the weight of his words hanging in the air. He looked at Elijah, his face filled with determination, "Every last one."
You made your way through the city, ducking into alleys and hiding whenever a vampire passed by. It was a bit odd to see the city so barren, the streets empty. You tried not to think about it, pushing away the memories of when they were thriving, full of vampires, witches and werewolves alike.
You didn't talk much, keeping quiet to avoid drawing attention to yourselves. But Maeve pointed to the trees and grass, the once green and vibrant plants that now lay withered and dead.
"Was that us?" she whispered. "Our magic?"
You just nodded, trying not to dwell on it. You had sacrificed a lot to get here, you couldn't lose focus now. You had to keep going, no matter what.
"We are going to die, aren't we?" She asked, her voice barely audible.
"Maybe, but so is everyone else," you replied, your voice equally low. "This is bigger than us, we have a chance to free everyone, to end the tyranny,"
You could feel the magic you had taken on, it was too much, twisting your insides, making you nauseous. You knew that the longer you kept it, the worse it would get. The ancestors didn't care that you were in agony, you were their vessel, a tool for their revenge.
"I've never really thought about the afterlife," Maeve said, a small smile creeping across her face. "But, I hope that it's peaceful, that my family is there waiting for me,"
"I'm sure it is," you said, your voice wavering.
"What about you? What do you hope the afterlife is like?" She asked, glancing over at you.
"I hope it's worth it," you whispered, "I hope that everything we did was worth it."
She nodded, her expression solemn. You didn't know what else to say, so you just headed towards the compound, the one place you didn't want to go.
As you grew closer, the damage done to the streets became more pronounced, the rubble thicker and heavier. You had to climb over fallen walls and dead trees, concrete stained with blood. There had been a fight, wooden stakes and branches lay strewn about the ground, but no bodies. Whatever wolves, vampires or witches had engaged them here were either dead or dragged away to be fed upon.
You tried not to think about it, clambering over the rubble, making your way through the gate, sticking to the shadows of the courtyard. It was dark, the sun hidden behind stormy gray clouds. You were glad for it, it would make sneaking around the compound easier, but a part of you wanted to see the sunshine one last time.
The bodies of a werewolf army lie strewn about the courtyard and the large pool of liquid in the middle of it. There were torn off heads, limbs, all in a pile and it was impossible to tell which person belonged to which body. There were a few witches as well, their bodies laying next to those of the wolves.
It was gruesome, the smell of blood and rot filling the air. You covered your mouth, trying not to vomit, but the sight was too much, the magic coursing through you amplifying your senses, and you dry heaved, clutching your stomach.
Before you had time to process what you were looking at, there was a strange shift in the air, and Klaus Mikaelson stood before you. He was covered in blood, his shirt torn and ragged. He was staring down at the pile of corpses, his expression blank.
"I presume it was you that caused this... massacre," he said, his voice eerily calm.
"No, pretty sure that was you," you retorted, and he smirked, a cold, hollow thing, turning to face you.
"I call it self defense. Why? Well they had these..." he said, his voice dripping with sarcasm, and he held up a number of poorly whittled white oak stakes, "and were not afraid to use them."
He dropped the stakes, his eyes roving over you, then his gaze turned to Maeve, a cruel smile twisting his lips.
"I see you brought a friend," he said, his voice mocking. "Does she care to explain what's happening here, or am I going to have to torture it out of her?"
Maeve glared at him, her eyes narrowing, and she lifted her hand, a ball of flame appearing in her palm.
"We've come to kill you, to end your reign of terror," she said, her voice hard.
"Is that so?" He replied, his eyes gleaming. "I'm impressed, little witch, it takes a great deal of strength and cunning to kill an Original vampire."
He looked over at you, his expression turning dark.
"And quite a bit of debauchery too, considering the lengths in which you went to," he hissed, his tone bitter.
"This has nothing to do with us, Klaus," you said, taking a step towards him.
"Oh no?" He snapped, his voice rising, "sleeping with Elijah wasn't a calculated choice? That was all just a means to an end?"
"Don't," you growled, your voice low.
He threw back his head and laughed, a loud, mocking sound. Then he lunged, grabbing you by the throat, lifting you off the ground.
"I should kill you," he growled, his eyes burning with rage, "I should rip your throat out and tear your body to pieces."
Maeve's hands clenched into fists, the fire growing hotter, brighter, and she let out a scream, sending the ball of flame hurling towards Klaus.
He dropped you, flying backwards, crashing into the side of the building. You landed hard, the breath knocked out of you, your body aching. Maeve rushed to your side, helping you up. She pressed a stake into your hand, and you gripped it tightly, the wood smooth against your skin.
"Come on," she said, jerking her head towards Klaus, "let's finish this."
Klaus stood up, his shirt smoldering, the skin beneath it red and blistered. His eyes flashed yellow, and he lunged, moving faster than you could follow.
Maeve ran at him, the force of her magic causing Klaus to stumble, and he let out a roar, charging towards her. They collided in a flurry of blows, their hands and feet moving impossibly fast.
Klaus grabbed Maeve, his hands wrapping around her neck, and he began to squeeze. You ran at him, leaping onto his back, plunging a stake into his shoulder. He screamed in pain, throwing Maeve to the ground, and reached behind him, grabbing you by the throat.
He tore the stake from his shoulder, tossing it aside, and slammed you against the wall, his hands crushing your windpipe.
"Tell me, love," he sneered, his eyes boring into yours, "did you enjoy it?"
You stared at him, your mouth open, struggling to breathe, the magic within you bubbling and churning.
"All the pain you have caused, all the suffering, the lives ruined," he growled, his eyes darkening, "and you had the gall, the nerve, the audacity to pretend you are righteous,"
He was breathing heavily, his jaw clenching, and his hands tightened around your neck.
"To claim that you were better than me," he hissed, his voice dropping to a low, dangerous tone, "to make Elijah believe that you loved him."
The magic inside you burst forth, exploding outward, and you sent a pulse of energy towards him, knocking him off his feet. He hit the ground hard, rolling a few times, coming to a stop against a stone pillar.
You collapsed in the heap, coughing and gasping for air, the magic flowing through you burning, searing. You screamed, your back arching, your limbs twitching, your muscles contracting. It was too much, the pressure, the pain, and the magic began to escape, slipping from your grasp, flowing into the air.
You watched it, like a wisp of soft twinkle lights, drifting away, it gravitated towards the wood, the stakes and branches strewn about the compound, to the beams above you. It sank into them, filling them, and the wood began to glow, burning with the same white light that flowed through you.
Maeve stumbled to her feet, stake in hand, it was disintegrating, falling apart in her palm. She knew this was her last chance, she couldn't afford to wait any longer, the magic was escaping her, draining from her body and draining her life.
She snarled and launched himself at him and they rolled across the ground, grappling and fighting. She screamed and struggled, the force of her magic beating against his chest, but he was too strong, pinning her down.
You took a single step forward, and then you felt it; a sudden rush of coldness, a wave of despair, as his hand touched your arm. You turned, and he was standing there, Elijah.
He looked like he had been through hell. His clothes were tattered, his face covered in dirt and blood. But it was his eyes, his beautiful brown eyes that broke your heart. They were full of pain, a sorrow so deep, so profound, that you couldn't look away.
You stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity, neither of you saying a word. And then you heard a cracking sound, Maeve's scream, and Klaus' triumphant roar.
You saw her body fall, limp and lifeless, the white oak stake gone, Klaus holding the splintered remains in his hands.
The whispers grew deafening, chanting in unison, filling your mind, the voices blending together, drowning out all thought, and you were filled with rage.
You struggled in Elijah's grip, the magic swirling and coiling within you, ready to be released.
"Let me go," you hissed, your voice filled with venom.
He didn't budge, his grip tightening, but he wasn't looking at you. Klaus stood up, wiping his hands on his pants, his mouth twisted into a smug grin.
"It's over, brother," he said, his voice mocking, "kill her and end this,"
You snarled and kicked, lashing out with your magic, the air rippling. You struck him in the chest, and he fell backwards, his grip loosening, and you ripped yourself from his arms, turning to face him.
He looked like you had stabbed him in the heart, his expression crumpling. You felt dizzy, drunk almost, on the power. Everything was so vivid, so intense. Your senses were overwhelmed, your head spinning. Maeve's magic flowed through you, and you could feel her essence, her soul. The voices of your ancestors were a chorus in your head, a chorus calling for the deaths of all vampires.
Elijah moved, reaching out, trying to grab you, but you sidestepped him, dodging his attempt to restrain you. You turned towards him, the anger and pain that you had kept locked away, bubbling to the surface.
"You're all monsters," you hissed, your voice barely above a whisper.
"We are," Elijah said, his eyes full of anguish.
You felt a surge of emotion, your vision blurring, and a tear rolled down your cheek.
"I wish I had never met you," you whispered. "Why... Why did you have to take everything from me?"
He didn't answer, just stared at you, his face pale. You could hear Klaus chuckle behind you, his footsteps echoing in the silence.
"Come now, love," he drawled, "that's hardly fair."
You spun around, the magic inside you thrumming, your fingers twitching.
"You have no idea what's fair!" You snapped, your voice shaking.
Klaus smirked, taking a step towards you, but Elijah blocked his path, standing in front of you.
"Move," Klaus snarled, his eyes glowing yellow.
"No," Elijah said, his voice strained.
"You can't save her, brother," Klaus said, his voice low, his gaze fixed on Elijah. "She took too much on, look around,"
The ceiling was collapsing, the walls crumbling, the foundations cracking. All of the wood and plants were rotting and dying, pulsing with the same white light that you could feel pulsing through you.
"She chose this, to die for her cause," Klaus sneered. "How noble of her."
Elijah pushed him away, his jaw clenched, and he looked at you, his expression pained. Klaus grabbed him, pulling him away, and he let out a shout, struggling against his grip.
"Just let her go," he snarled, "it will be over soon."
Elijah shook his head, his tear filled eyes now turning to rage, and he punched him, hitting Klaus so hard, he stumbled, releasing his hold. Elijah's eyes burned with anger, his fists clenched.
"No, I will not kill her," he hissed, "not now, not ever."
"You're weak," Klaus spat, wiping the blood from his mouth, "she betrayed you, she lied to you, and you can't bring yourself to end it, to do what must be done. You are a fool, a pathetic, sniveling, little fool."
Elijah charged at him, his hands grabbing Klaus by the throat, slamming him into the wall. He punched him repeatedly, his knuckles smashing into his face, his eyes filled with hatred.
"You have only ever despised those I love," Elijah snarled, his fist connecting with Klaus' face, "because you are a coward, afraid of any emotion that does not serve your own selfish desires."
Klaus laughed, spitting blood, his lips split, his nose broken.
"You will never learn," Klaus said, his voice thick with disdain.
"And you will never understand," Elijah said, his voice barely above a whisper, his fist connecting with Klaus' face once again.
You could hear the whispers, the voices, the magic in the air calling to you. Your coven was gone, they were dead, but their spirits lingered, their voices echoing in your mind. You held all their power now, their legacy, and the weight of it was crushing. You were barely holding on, with Maeve dead all the magic was yours, and it was destroying you.
Your knees buckled, and you fell to the ground, your body wracked with sobs. You were alone, all alone, and the power was too much. You couldn't hold on anymore, your grip was slipping. the pain too intense, and you let go.
Everything went white, the light blinding, and there was a horrifying crack, and the earth beneath you exploded. The ground gave way, and you fell, the air rushing past you.
You screamed, falling, falling, and the voices grew louder, the light blinding. And then everything went black.
~~~
You awoke slowly, a dull throbbing ache in the back of your head. You couldn't feel your legs, your entire body was numb.
You blinked, your vision blurred, and slowly everything around you came into focus. There was rubble everywhere, a huge pile of it. The air was filled with dust, making it hard to breathe. There was a rumbling sound, as debris began to rain down, a piece of rock became dislodged and tumbled down, smashing into a pile of bricks, shattering them.
There was a ringing in your ears, and you could hear the muffled sound of shouting, a distant siren. You tried to move, but your body was heavy, your limbs were leaden, and you were stuck under something warm and solid.
You looked up, and Elijah's face came into view. His eyes were closed, his chest rising and falling in an unnatural way, his neck was at an odd angle, his hair caked with dust. He had you caged under him, his body covering yours, protecting you from the worst of the destruction.
"Eli?" You croaked, your voice hoarse, the sound of it muffled.
He slowly opened his eyes, blinking, his gaze focusing on you. His pretty brown eyes full of heartache and despair.
"Why?" He whispered, his voice breaking.
"I had to," you said, your voice wavering.
He looked down at you, his eyes roving over you, taking in your injuries. He moved slightly, pushing up against the rubble, his immense strength allowing him to lift the heavy wooden beam that was pinning you.
You winced as the movement jarred your legs, a sharp stab of pain shooting through you. You were sure they were broken, the bones in your lower half crushed, shattered.
"You used me," he whispered, his voice trembling, tears rolling down his cheeks, "you made me care for you, made me think..."
He broke off, shaking his head, his eyes filled with anguish.
"And then you betrayed me," he continued, his voice hollow.
The voices were screaming, the magic within you burning, searing.
"I was always told vampires were evil," you pleaded, the pain in your chest unbearable. "And then, I met you, and it was like, everything I knew, everything I believed, it all changed. You made me see the world differently."
His face crumpled, and he looked away, his shoulders shaking.
"I had a mission," you said, your voice cracking, "I was to destroy you, and bring peace back to this city."
You looked at him, pleading, your eyes welling up. You felt a stake next to you, the wood felt so hot, the magic inside it vibrating, the whispers in your head growing louder, a cacophony of sound.
"I never meant to fall in love with you," you cried, the tears rolling down your face.
"Killing me, would cause the thousands I sired to die too, many of them innocent. Who are you to decide who is worthy of life or death?" He asked, his voice trembling, his gaze full of anger.
"It doesn't matter," you said, the words spilling out of you, "they're all monsters."
"Just like me," he whispered, his eyes searching yours, "just like you."
"No," you whispered, your voice barely audible. You lifted the stake, pressing it against his chest, the wood burning against your skin.
"This is a mercy," you said, the tears rolling down your cheeks, "an end to the suffering, a chance for peace."
"Do it," he whispered, his voice shaking. "Kill me."
"I don't want to," you cried, the pain in your chest becoming unbearable.
"Do it," he yelled, his voice laced with anger, "End it. Put me out of my misery."
"No," you choked out, the pain overwhelming. "I don't want to, but the voices, the magic, it's too much, I can't, I can't hold on," you sobbed, the stake glowing brightly.
He leaned down, pressing his forehead against yours, his eyes closed, his breath tickling your face.
"I can't watch you die," he whispered, his voice soft, his face twisted with agony.
He kissed you then, a soft, gentle kiss, his lips brushing against yours, and you clung to him, the stake pressed against his heart, the wood burning. You knew you didn't have it in you, to make the choice that would end him, forever.
"I'm sorry," you whispered, the pain in your chest overwhelming, "for everything."
"Me too," he said, his voice filled with sorrow, he took the stake from your hand, casting it aside. You watched as it slowly disintegrated, the weapon you sacrificed everything for, turning to dust. Just like the magic you had inside you.
Elijah placed his hand on your cheek, cupping your face, his thumb brushing against your skin, his eyes meeting yours. Then he groaned, pushing hard against the debris that trapped you both, lifting the heavy wooden beam that pinned you to the ground. He pulled you free, holding your broken body close, and you felt his arms wrap around you, his touch gentle, careful.
You looked around, the devastation was worse than you thought. The entire compound was gone, the building demolished. There were fires burning everywhere, and a thick layer of dust and debris covered everything. The city was eerily silent, the sky dark, the only light coming from the fires. You were the cause of this, the destruction, the death. You couldn't take it anymore, the guilt, the shame, the pain.
You buried your face against his chest, letting the tears flow freely. He held you, his embrace warm, his touch comforting. You could feel the heat of his breath, the beat of his heart. The voices grew louder, and you were drowning in the sound, the pain was excruciating.
"I'm dying," you whispered, your voice muffled against his shirt, "and I'm afraid."
"Don't be," he whispered, his hand rubbing your back, his voice thick with emotion, "I'll be with you, every step of the way."
"I love you," you said, your voice trembling, the tears streaming down your cheeks.
"I love you too," he whispered, his voice choked, "with all my heart.”
He tightened his grip, holding you closer, his arms wrapped around you, his chest pressed against yours.
"Please," you begged, "please, kill me."
You felt his lips on yours, the taste of blood and tears. His fingers dug into your back, and you felt the pain, the fire in your bones, your muscles, the magic tearing through you, burning, scorching. You were going to die, and there was nothing you could do to stop it.
"Not yet," he said, his voice breaking, and you felt the sharp pinch of teeth in your neck.
The pain was intense, like a fire, burning through you. You screamed, arching against him, and he pulled back, his eyes wide, his pupils blown, the veins beneath them protruding. He was feeding from you, draining you, killing you.
You felt the darkness creeping in, the whispers fading, the voices growing quiet. Then it was all blackness, nothingness, a void. You were floating, drifting in the darkness, and then you felt something, a tether, a rope, and it was pulling you back, calling to you. It was not the continual haunting drone of the ancestors, but one singular, familiar voice. The voice of the person you loved the most.
Epilogue
A soft sigh escaped your lips as Elijah's warm hands held you underneath him, the movements of his hips slow and controlled.
His hands roamed your body, the look of lust on his face making your heart skip a beat. You would never tire of the way he made you feel, the way he knew what he was doing. This slow, lazy dance, the intimacy of it, the gentle brush of his lips, the smooth silk sheets on your bare skin, the pleasure he made you feel. It was all overwhelming, intense, the sounds you were both making echoing in the room.
You stared up at him, the golden glow of the fireplace shining on his skin, his dark eyes staring down at you. A rare smile was on his lips, and he sighed in contentment, his thrusts becoming more forceful, the bed creaking beneath you. It didn't take long for you to fall apart, the sweet pleasure ripping through your body, Elijah following soon after.
The two of you laid there for a while, not saying anything, just enjoying the peaceful silence. As much as you wanted to, you couldn't stop the questions racing through your mind.
"You're thinking too much, my love," he whispered, his face nuzzled in the crook of your neck, his breath hot on your skin.
"I'm sorry," you sighed, shaking your head, trying to dispel the memories that were plaguing you.
"Talk to me," he murmured, propping himself up on his elbow, looking down at you. "I want to know what's going on in that beautiful mind of yours."
You closed your eyes, not sure where to begin. "I... I just miss it sometimes," you whispered, unable to meet his gaze, feeling the shame burning inside of you. "The power, the magic. It was so overwhelming, so intoxicating, and now... I feel empty without it."
"I know," he replied, his voice soft, his hand reaching up to stroke your hair. "I can't imagine what that was like, having all that power, feeling it consume you."
You nodded, the guilt weighing heavily on your shoulders. You knew what he was feeling. He was angry, hurt, betrayed, and you didn't blame him. It would take a long time for him to forgive you, if he ever did. You were grateful that he was even giving you a chance, allowing you into his life, his bed. He had been so patient, so understanding, so loving, and you didn't deserve it.
"I'm sorry," you said, your voice cracking. "I shouldn't have brought it up, I know it's a sore subject for you, and I'm sorry."
He sighed, shaking his head, his hand resting on your hip, pressing your legs apart. "No," he whispered, his eyes full of sorrow, his touch tender, his lips pressing against yours, his tongue slipping into your mouth. "It's not a sore subject for me, not anymore," he said, his voice firm, his words ringing true. "I forgave you a long time ago."
You blinked back the tears, his words washing over you, filling you with relief, with joy, with hope. You didn't deserve his forgiveness, his love, but you would cherish it, cherish him, for the rest of your life. And now that you were immortal, that would be a very long time.
You never expected to find peace or love with Elijah Mikaelson. Of all the ways your paths had crossed, this one was by far the most unexpected. Laying here, in his arms, a vampire, his wife, was never part of your plan. You chose this, him, and he chose you, and that's all you ever needed.
oooo okay i have a prompt 💁🏼♀️ for the au version of bradley and sweet girl (and the little nugget!):
❝ well, i do feel a little better now that you’re here. ❞
Jordan! You know how soft I am about them! (in every universe, but especially that one!) I hope you like this! 🫶🏼
You will never not be happy to see Bradley Bradshaw, but seeing him walk though the open door of the in-progress nursery might be the best thing that's happened to you all day.
It's not even the large styrofoam cup you spy in his hand from your favorite milkshake spot, it's just him.
"You look nice," you sniffle from where you're seated on the floor, screws scattered around you like confetti.
"And you look stuck," he says gently, giving you a soft smile. Setting the cup on top of the dresser he'd built for you a few weeks ago. "Need a hand, kid?"
You nod, sure that you look more than a little pitiful right now.
Bradley has to press his lips together to keep from chuckling at just how adorably dejected you look, sitting there with your large bump and splayed legs.
All you'd wanted was to get the crib you'd ordered put together. You were in your third trimester and feeling more than a little useless in your own body. You'd just wanted to prove to yourself that you were still capable of doing things on your own.
And it had been going fine, until you'd accidentally dropped the open bag of screws on the floor. Too many to squat and pick up, you'd carefully lowered yourself down, only to realize you couldn't get yourself back up on your own.
You'd given up after your fifth attempt, teary and frustrated, and called Rooster.
He reaches down with his strong, sure hands to help you up off the ground. Pulling you up so easily, like it's nothing, that you're reminded all over again just how pathetic you've been feeling lately.
"You smell nice too," you say glumly, realizing you haven't showered yet today, as he helps steady you back on your own two feet.
"Stop you're going to make me blush."
"I thought the morning sickness was supposed to go away," you sigh. "But that guy from accounting dropped by my office earlier today, the one I told you about with the bad cologne, and I was nauseous the rest of the day."
His warm, brown eyes remind you of home. And as tough as it had been to uproot your life, it had been worth it to be closer to your best friend and favorite person. You've only been here for a few months, but you already loved San Diego.
Rooster makes a sympathetic sound. "He's the worst."
"He really is. He's also a mansplainer, so that's two strikes against him." You look at Bradley, looking very handsome in the knit polo he was wearing, and feel even more like a wreck in your very oversized tshirt, the hem of your stretchy shorts just barely peeking out from underneath it. "But you didn’t answer, why are you all gussied up?"
He rubs the back of his neck, his eyes darting away from you. "I was, uh, on a date with someone Nat knows from her kickboxing classes."
"Oh. Oh no, Rooster. I'm so sorry." More tears flooding your eyes at the guilt of ruining his night. You thought you'd already cried them all out before he'd got there, but apparently you still had more left in you.
Bradley's stomach twists at the sight of your lower lip wobbling, kicking himself for not bending the truth because the last thing he wanted to do was make you feel bad.
"Hey now, woah," he says, cupping your face. "None of that, kid. You rescued me from an awkward date with a woman who was still very clearly hung up on her ex."
"Still, I really am sorry. I don't want my mess to become yours."
He gives you a look you don't know what to make of. "Why didn't you wait for me, kid. I told you I'd swing by this weekend to help with all of this."
Bradley had kept his weekend free for you, not that you'd asked him too. He knew you were stressed about wanting to get the nursery in order, one less thing for you to think about. He was excited to see it come together, was looking forward to hanging up that little felt seagull mobile he'd bought for you as a baby shower gift.
At that godawful dinner, he'd nearly shot out of his chair at the watery warble of your voice, concerned that something had happened to you or the baby. He was more than happy to help, he wanted you to lean on him for these things. You chose to have the baby on your own, without your shitty ex, but that didn't mean you were going to be doing it alone.
"I thought I could handle it. It's just some prefab wood and shit," you huff with agitation. "I wanted to feel useful. But then I dropped the bag of screws and well..." You trial off and just gesture to the spot he'd found you, you'd left the screws on the floor out of spite.
You're just so tired. All the time. Tired and overwhelmed.
The tears fall on their own again, a mix of hormones and emotions. "Bradley, what was I thinking? I'm going to be a mom. This little person is going to depend on me and I couldn't even get off the floor." You're embarrassed when your voice cracks.
"Come here," Bradley murmurs, tugging you to his chest. He holds you as tight as he thinks he can without squishing the baby. The firm, rounded swell of your stomach pressing against his flat one.
You tuck your face into the space at the base of his neck. His woodsy smell more soothing than lavender could ever be.
Rooster runs his hand up and down your back. "You're growing a whole person in there. You need to yourself some slack. You aren't a mess. And that little peanut is going to be so lucky to have you."
You squeeze your eyes tight and nod. Trying to remind yourself that it's ok to be scared, because you also were excited. Excited to meet her, excited to be able to finally hold her, excited to introduce her to your best friend.
You feel your little girl shift and move inside of you. You pull away taking Bradley's hand in yours and setting it over where she's pressing against you, "I think she's happy you're here."
It's something that he doesn't think he'll ever get use to.
"'Course she is," he rasps thickly. "I'm going to be her favorite." He's still holding your hand, not ready to let go. "And you? How do you feel, kid?"
"Well, I do feel a little better now that you’re here too," you tell him, before giving him the first real smile that he's seen from you all night. "Especially since you brought me a milkshake."
He laughs and kisses the side of your head before letting you.
"Who knew you were such an easy girl to please."
You flip him off without heat, as he thumbs off the remainders of the wet tear tracks on your cheeks.
"Thank you, Rooster."
"You know I'm alway here for you," he says, squeezing your shoulder as he goes to fetch your treat.
Once he gets you set up in the oversized chair with your milkshake, he tosses you his phone and puts you on DJ duty while he works on assembling the deep brown wood spindle crib that you'd picked out.
You watch as Bradley double checks each step in the instruction booklet before he moves on to the next one. It's the most studious you've ever seen him, his tongue peeking out every now in then in concentration. The way he takes his time building the crib for your little girl, makes your chest feel warm.
You're both so lucky to have him.
Every now and then he looks over at you as he fits the pieces together. It makes his heart twinge in an unexpected way when he sees you running your hand over your belly, looking down at it with the softest of smiles on your face.
You're going to be such a good mom, he thinks to himself. And he'll be there right by your side. The best Uncle Rooster he can be.
For her, for you.
After all, you've always been his family.
Hello!! Could you do this (https://www.tumblr.com/ju1cyfru1t/726231091217874944/when-you-wipe-away-their-kisses-as-a-joke?source=share) with Donnie and he takes it too far and reader ends up crying because it's been a week and y/n thinks they genuinely messed up and he hates them now? So, hurt but comfort
You don't have to 💙✨
YYYEEESSS HAHAHAHHAHSJDJ THANK YOU IM SUCH A SUCKER FOR HURT/COMFORT HOPE YOU LIKE IT BAE 💜💜💜💜💜
you didn’t specify so I’m going to assume a one shot/Drabble :D
Rise! Donatello x gn reader
syn: reader wiped away Donnie’s kiss so now he’s refusing to kiss them…until it’s gone too far.
wiping away their kisses
hurt->comfort
established relationship
I tried my best 😭 not thoroughly proof read
It had been a week. Seven whole days, and Donatello was still holding out from kissing you. Why waste his time on something you would just so carelessly wipe away? You would just have to learn the hard way that Donnie holds grudges.
Sure, there were a couple times he felt a little bad. And sure, there were a few times he wanted to give in. He was just trying to get back at you. No harm in that, right?
Except to you, who by this point regretted your little stunt wholeheartedly. You knew you shouldn’t be surprised with his dramatic behavior, but this felt different. Like you had really messed up and the guilt was just too much.
So on the eighth day of your kiss drought(?), when you leaned in and he swerved his head the other way with a small smirk, he was about to realize he had taken it too far.
“Donnie, please! I said I was really, really sorry! Two reallys!!!” You stared at him pleadingly, but he didn’t even look up from his phone.
Until he heard your little sniffle, and whipped his head to look at you with tears in your eyes.
“Please! I never meant to ruin-“ His shock was evident when you couldn’t even finish your sentence through tears.
He was struggling to process what was happening. He felt so guilty and weird seeing you like that, and he did not like it. I mean, Donnie never meant to make you cry. He just…wanted to get you back.
Donnie was slouched over, rubbing your back awkwardly and avoiding eye contact.
“Y/N…please don’t cry, I’m..uh,“ Apologizing was never one of his many skills, so please appreciate his effort. “I’m sorry. You really, really didn’t ruin anything…” Wow, two ‘really’s.’
“But- …but you hate me now! I should have never-“
“What?” He couldn’t help but cut you off, he didn’t know you felt that way. “ I don’t hate you, Y/N. I just wanted to get even for messing with me…I’m sorry. I….love you.”
That’s how you knew he really meant it, he wouldn’t be so vulnerable like this if he didn’t care about your feelings. He did it just for you because he knew you needed to hear it.
You almost wanted to cry harder at his sweet(?) words, but for his sake you didn’t.
“ I love you too, Dee. But please, please let me kiss you!”
(Most of) The guilt and tension faded from Donnie’s chest and he let out a deep breath with a sly smile.
“I suppose…since you asked so politely.”
In the end, I guess you both got what you wanted.
today was supposed to be a perfect day. tengen had gotten you this beautiful light pink lingerie set, paired with white garters and stockings for valentine's day and you had been dying to wear it but hadn't found the perfect occasion... until this morning.
tengen would be off for the day, having to spend most of his day training even when he was back home. this was perfect for you though. you'd have the morning to sleep in and then get all dolled up for your loving husband only for him to return and unwrap his present.
however, what was supposed to be a perfect day was quickly ruined when you tried on your new lingerie, fidgeting with the bra and pantie. you sigh, your eyes glued to your tummy on full display, hanging slightly over the white trim of your lacy pink underwear.
you pinch the skin wishing it away with a simple tug then flicking your eyes to your thighs and arms drooping at your sides. you try your best to readjust yourself in the beautiful underwear which made you feel like you could only pale in comparison. your eyes keep flicking between your stomach, thighs, and arms slowly shrinking in the mirror before you. before you know it there are tears running down your cheeks and neck.
as soon as tengen returned home, he was calling your name, expecting you to giddily jump down the stairs to welcome him home. his smile quickly turned into a frown though as more time passed and he still found himself waiting.
he finally makes his way upstairs, calling your name softer now, fearing he might have caught you napping. he didn't find you in your bedroom though and now he was sure something was wrong. he could have heard your sniffling even without his increased hearing, but it makes him launch himself to your side needing to protect you from whatever had done you any harm.
he finds you in your shared closet, knees to your chest and backed against a wall. he could sense no sign of danger, but knows you were in some kind of pain. you were crying. something has to be wrong.
"peach, i'm here," tengen's tone comes out barely above a whisper as to not startle you. you flick your eyes up to meet his, shocked he was inches from you. you didn't even hear him arrive, much less notice him enter the room. "tell me what's wrong, my love."
he pushes back some of your hair back softly then cleaning the stray tears still littering your cheeks. you instantly retreat back into your body hiding your face back between your knees. he, however, pulls you into his chest wrapping his arms around you, holding you in his tight embrace as you sniffle into his shirt slowly calming down your breathing.
"i'm sorry, my love. this wasn't how today was supposed to go," before you could even finish your apology, tengen is already having none of it.
"no apologies. just breathe for me, darling, and you can tell me what's wrong," he cooes, rubbing your arm softly grounding you back to reality as you clean your face over and over again.
you sit together in silence for a moment as you slowly compose yourself, taking deep breaths and focusing on his touch against your skin. nobody would have expected the flashy sound hashira to be capable of such level of gentleness.
"i don't mean to be quiet. i just... i don't even know what to say. you said no apologies," you break the silence suddenly, flicking your eyes up to meet his. there was so much adoration in those pink eyes you could almost drown in it.
"take a breathe and tell me what's wrong, peach. i'm here to listen," he responds calmly. "i just came home early to find you hidden and crying in our closet."
"i just... i tried on your present and was really excited about it, but i hate how they look on me," you admit, honestly quite embarrassed that your husband had found you crying over something so trivial as clothes. "sounds so stupid..."
"not stupid at all, love."
"you always know what to say," you respond pulling a smile on his handsome face. he brings one of your hands up to his lips pressing a soft kiss to the back. "i just... today was supposed to be perfect and just..."
you keep starting sentences not even knowing how to end them. tengen had heard you say things like things about your body before. he knows you struggle with loving your body at times which he would never understand. he found himself too obsessed with your curves and soft skin to see any problems with the body he reveres with such adoration.
he could never understand why you would want to change a single thing. despite not understanding your feelings, he would listen attentively to you whenever you needed to rant or cry before showering you with all his love and adoration.
"do you want to try to explain to me what happened again?," he asks once you were calmly breathing against his chest. you nod sitting back up properly to meet his gaze again much calmer this time.
"i told you... just don't like how it looks on me," you respond simply.
"can i see?," he asks, tone so gentle. it was a tone reserved for you, his beloved wife, the woman that brought him to his knees with just a smile.
you nod, both pulling away from each other as your hands travel to your robe. you untie the front letting it slowly drop from your shoulders to expose the bra. his eyes move down to your chest unable to look away from how your breasts practically spilled out of the lacy cups.
his eyes eat you up trying to commit every detail to memory, enamored by the way the light pink lace laid on top of your skin. you shrink slightly under his gaze, suddenly becoming self-conscious and pushing your arms back forward in an attempt to hid.
"no need to be so shy, peach. you look breathtaking...," he cooes softly taking the edges of your robe and pushing it down your arms to reveal more of your body to him, tummy barely hidden under the material as it pools at your waist. "would eat you up if you let me."
"you're crazy," you respond with a small smile.
"crazy for you, my love," you share a sweet smile as his large hands gently cup your face bringing you in for a slow and sweet kiss.
he smiles against your lips as he manages to slip his tongue into your mouth, getting his first taste of you. he quickly leaves you breathless and dizzy on his tongue, only shrieking loudly when he hooks his arm under your knees easily carrying you to your shared bedroom. he was determined to make you see the beauty he sees.
he softly lays you on your shared bed before standing up properly to shed his clothes before returning to bed with you. you sit up on your elbows to properly look at your husband who remains at the foot of the bed. when he dropped you on the bed, your robe had fallen to your sides exposing your entire body to him.
he couldn't peel his hungry gaze away from your newly exposed skin, needing to take in every inch of you. starting at your knee, he proceeds to kiss up your body, slowly covering you in the softest kisses, lips barely grazing against your skin.
he's determined to cover every inch of you in his kisses, but still lingers on his favorite parts, which were also the ones you resent the most. he lingers on your thighs, hips, stomach, arms until he finally nibbles on your collarbones and shoulders. his loving touches are accompanied by the sweetest of compliments, adoring words decorating his gentle touch.
"just wanna eat you up, peach," he mumbles messily against your jaw before moving down to your neck as his adept hands easily get rid of your robe. "just so delicious. can't help myself."
"tengen," you moan his name, letting out a sigh and running your hands through his platinum hair to pull him even closer.
"yes, my darling?," he asks with a cocky smile. tengen just loves making you tell him exactly what you wanted him to do to you. he loves seeing you all flustered after detailing every single little thing you wanted him to do to you. "gotta hear you use your pretty words, peach. you know i love hearing you."
"tengen...," you groan as he nibbles on the column of your neck. "need you... please"
he chuckles against your skin, still not content with your answer, but happily sucking on the sweet spot on your neck making it even harder for you to think. you whine loudly against his lips, trying to make sense of all your thoughts.
"please... break me and put me back together," you barely whisper unable to put more words together without whining embarrassingly loud. "tengen..."
"i know baby girl, i know," he cooes before coming back up to your lips for a moment, messily pushing his tongue into your mouth to taste you again. "need to stretch you out a little, my darling."
his fingers graze your inner thighs and you instantly shudder against his touch, your back arching against him at the soft contact. he chuckles softly against your lips at how your body reacts to him. his fingers slowly dance down your thighs, kissing the skin as his fingers disappear under your frilly underwear. your moans mix together as he slides a fingers against your little bundle of nerves, rubbing small circles.
"feel so good, peach," his words go directly to your pussy as your sighs start turning to whines. "so wet for me already."
he taps your bundle of nerves, drawing a gasp from your lips. that mischievous smile you adored decorated his sharp features as you crumble under his touch. rubbing little circles around your clit, tengen cages your body under his, muffling all your noises with his lips and tongue.
"fuck tengen," you moan embarrassingly loud as you roll your hips, rubbing your clit against tengen's digits.
"such a good girl," he bites down on your bottom lip rutting his growing erection against your thigh.
it takes everything in him to not rip the small excuse for underwear off of you, instead tugging the pink thong down your legs in a swift instant. he finally slides a single finger inside of you, slowly rubbing your delicious walls. he can't help but stare and smile at how your body reacts to his touch. in his eyes there is nothing more beautiful than your blissed out smile and lustful eyes.
as he slides another finger inside of you, you try to close your thighs around his hand. tengen chuckles softly, causing goosebumps to form on your skin as he holds your legs apart with ease.
"you gotta keep those pretty thighs open for me, peach," he reminds you as his thumb returns to rub tight little circles on your clit. your head falls back as the pleasure stretches across your body. “just like that, baby.”
the large smile on his face makes your pussy flutter around his fingers, unable to look away from the eyes you adored so much. the closer to your high you get, the less you can think. just when you think you can't take anymore, tengen rubs your clit faster while adding another finger into your blossoming pussy, leaving you digging your nails and clutching on to him for dear life.
“can’t go quiet on me now darling,” you can feel his cocky smile against your neck as he bites down on your skin, starting his newest mark. “can’t let you cum till i hear your pretty little gasps and moans.”
the sound hashira demands for you to let go of any inhibitions, knowing you were teetering on your high. your moans and gasps fill the room at his request needing to feel your release. every flutter of your pussy around his fingers has him rutting his rock hard cock against you even more, making you feel the effect you have on him.
"need to cum... please," you practically beg at this point, barely unable to hold back your orgasm. "please tengen..."
"you've been so good, peach. cum for me."
your thighs instinctively try to clamp shut around tengen's hand, but he easily holds them open watching as you cum on his fingers. he stares hungrily as your sweet honey slowly covers his digits. with your mind so lost in pleasure you barely even notice when he pulls his fingers out of you only to replace them with his mouth.
he laps up every drop of your essence as if he'd never have the chance to taste you again. his tongue brings you to a whole new level of pleasure leaving you thrashing in his tight grip, your abused clit pulsating from his attention.
every lick and suck borders on too much, but he drags you right back to the very precipice of another orgasm. finally gaining an ounce of your strength back, all you can manage is to dig your fingers through his white locks. you pull him even tighter against your sex dragging his tongue back and forth against your clit.
before you even allow yourself, your body is thrown into another orgasmic bliss. tengen's obscene noises are drowned out by your own screams of pleasure as you ride each wave of fiery bliss on his tongue.
"you're so gorgeous when you cum," he mumbles as he kisses your mound softly before making his way up your body leaving the most gentle kisses in his place. his angel soft kisses are such a contrast from the harsh licks and sucks he was just submitting your body to. "can you still give me one more, peach?"
he asks against your lips, drawing your attention back to him and his body barely hovering above yours. you nod before reaching up to capture his lips in yours for a passionate kiss, letting you taste yourself on his lips. yours moans mix together quickly turning your kiss into a messy battle.
"tengen please...,"you say breathlessly as you run your nails down his back drawing out a sinful moan from your delectable husband.
"you know i can never say no to you, peach," he says as he sinks his cock into your still dripping cunt.
hooking your leg over his shoulder, he pushes himself into your sex, practically growling from how you squeeze his cock. tengen's cock was like nothing you had experienced before. his sheer size was impressive, but it was his thickness that drove you wild, letting him rub spots you didn't even know existed.
he takes one of your hands interlacing your fingers as he sheaths his cock all the way inside you. an intimate quiet moment, before he drags his cock all the way out only to sink it back in and out over and over. you can barely keep up with his pace as he pushes himself somehow deeper until he's kissing your cervix with each thrust.
"doing so well for me peach," he praises between his moans, pace faltering slightly from how delicious you felt, pussy all stretched around his cock.
unable to rid himself of your bra without tearing it in an instant, he instead pushes it down to reveal your breasts jerking with each of his powerful thrusts. his lips instantly latch on to one of your nipples, chuckling against your breast as your back arched off the bed, filling his mouth even more.
your mind is numb already, unable to focus on anything other than how exhilarating your body feels, especially when he rubs that spot over and over and over again. you can only react by digging your nails into his back, piercing his skin with the signs of your affection.
"you like that don't you, peach?," tengen asks, growling again when he feels your sex squeezing his cock over and over when he angles it a certain way. "that gorgeous mind of yours empty, huh?"
his free hand tightens around your jaw to force your eyes to his as he slams into you over and over again. the moment he pushes his thumb into your mouth, you suck on it feverishly drool covering his digit and slowly dripping out of your mouth only for him to smear it across your lips again. his thrusts become more erratic chasing his high as he stares at the beautiful being under him consumed by her lust, lost in his adoration.
"with me, peach," he moans, harsh thrusts pushing you closer and closer to your shared high. "together."
as soon as you nod, he goes back to angling his cock to only rub against your sensitive spot. you aren't sure who came first, clinging on to each other as you rode your intense highs. his sparkling rose eyes are first things you meet when you're able to open your own. the pure adoration in them is something you'd never become accustomed to. he loved entirely, purely and absolutely.
"whatcha thinking about so much peach?," he asks ever so softly brushing his fingers through your hair.
"just you, as always my love," you tease, drawing out a whole hearted chuckle from him.
"glad you can still look at me like that after i tore your new underwear," he points out, making you notice he had in fact torn the bra when he tugged it down.
"we both know you'll buy me more."
"i'll stare at my gorgeous wife in every piece of clothing or none all the same," he seals his declaration with another searing kiss, but you knew he meant those words. you had enough torn clothes to prove it.
____
The Outlands, Years Ago:
A very young cub Vitani ran into some young jackals that neighbored the Termite Mounds, and she'd confessed to her mother that she had felt a friendship coming on, but Zira snuffed that dream right out. Lions could not be friends with mindless food like little jackals.
"Oh, quit your sniffling. It's going to get you nowhere! Get up before I give you a real reason to cry! NOW!"
"Mother, please! I won't disappoint you again, Mother!" the toddler sobbed.
The young Vitani could feel her mother grabbing her wrist. The older lioness pulled the cub closer.
Suddenly, Zira seemed to change in appearance. She was now much bigger, sported a slick, red mane, and a scar across her right eye. It was now an unknown male lion.
"You're seriously going to let a bunch of crows get to you? Are you a helpless little lower animal like them?!" he screamed.
"Father, I'm sorry-y-y!" Vitani sobbed, except… this was not her voice, nor her body.
"A real lion doesn't sit here and cry! Get up, Zira! NOW!"
The bigger lion's paw came up, looking like it was about to swipe.
Vitani jolted awake, putting a paw over her racing heart. More nightmares of Mother, of course.
Mother…
The images of Zira's sentient waterfall form came back to her vividly. No one would believe her. She didn't even believe herself the more she thought of it.
And her head… it still hurt from… something. Her friends said it had been a fall, right?
This didn't happen. No, none of this happened. She just fell… Right?
SCRATCH, SCRATCH…
The Fiercest gasped and made a small noise. Before she went to investigate, however, she looked around to make sure no one heard her pathetic sound.
Luckily, no. But, only because Tiifu wasn't around. Odd. She'd be wrapped all over Vitani.
Perhaps the watery ghost did exist. Maybe it was a little like the case of Nuka's spirit. Maybe Scar's. Kion defeated Scar's spirit. Had he seen one made of water? How would he have dealt with it? She had to find him...
SCRAPE, SCRATCH…
Vitani leapt to her feet and prowled about around the corridors of the Ponya. Her ears pointed to the noise. At the main part of the Ponya, she saw a bipedal form smearing paint onto the wall with precision.
Vitani looked all around the wall. It was a portrait of her brother and her sister-in-law. She smiled a bit, but it quickly vanished, remembering how disastrous last night went. She digressed, and cleared her throat.
"Um... that's really pretty..."
The mandrill jumped a little. Her hand made a jagged mark of paint on the wall.
"Sorry." Vitani winced, "I know that must've taken hours."
"Oh, that's okay!" the mandrill charmed, "I could make these all day!"
"I really admire the light colors and soft shapes. They really come together to create a distinct style."
"Wow, I didn't know you were so artsy!"
Vitani shrugged, "I mean, everyone makes me plot out patrol maps on the ground in the morning. I think my Guard does that just to watch me draw."
"Oh, right! You're the new Pridelands' Fiercest! What was your name again?"
"Vitani." the lioness introduced, "It's Makini, right?"
"Mmhm!"
"You're, uh... the Mjuzi for Kion and his wife, now --" Vitani rattled her head, "Uh, Kion... Have you seen him? I need to talk to him. Saw some things I can't explain."
"Oh, the Night Pride already started heading back last night. I stayed back to catch up with the Pridelanders and paint —"
Vitani blinked, "What? Why?"
"Why what?"
"W-Why did they leave?!" Vitani began to pace.
"Can't leave the Tree of Life unguarded too long, I guess."
"B-But this is — Wha — I —" the Fiercest began seething, "Dammit!"
Furious, she smacked hard at something with her paw. It had been a husk full of vermillion paint.
Leaving her cloud of rage, she could see that she had gotten the paint all over her paw, and all over Makini's masterpiece.
"I... I am so sorry, I —" Vitani stammered, "I totally ruined your painting —"
"It's okay! I can make a new one any time. I'm always improving!" Makini reassured, "In fact, this gives me an idea..."
The mandrill began to wash the the rest of the painting from the rock with a soaked leaf.
"Here! Why don't you paint how you feel on this rock and maybe I can help you figure out what it means! It's called 'art therapy.'"
Vitani stared into her paint-covered paw. She didn't like the sound of just sitting here for therapy, but Kion was already gone. Kion may have had the advantage of defeating spirits with his Roar, but Makini must've known more about the past and spirits in general. That's what Mjuzis do, right?
Makini was the best option she had, it seemed. Especially with Rafiki opting to stay in his tree more often, lately.
Vitani got a good look at the rock in deep thought of how she would convey her anxieties. She considered Makini's suggestion, and began to make her first move.
Slowly, Vitani took her paw and brought it closer to her canvas. She squeezed her eyes shut.
"Wait." she finally said, eyes open.
She tried and tried to remember the images she saw, but they kept changing and becoming unclear due to the deliberate effort to recall them.
"I… I can't remember, now." her teeth gritted, "It's fading too quickly!"
The Mjuzi frowned, "Aww, that's too bad. I forget my dreams a lot, too. I'm pretty forgetful in my waking life too, actually, and Rafiki says I need to work on that if I want to connect with the past. Which, you gotta see all the old paintings to know what paintings to make in the present so everyone in the future will know what to paint in their present -- We were talking about something else, right? What —"
"My dreams, Makini. The whole reason I was painting?"
"Oh yeah! And how you can't recollect the pa — OOOOHH! I got it!" Makini suddenly chimed, "I got just the thing!"
"You do?" Vitani's eyes widened with a slight roll, her jeering tone going unnoticed by the mandrill.
Makini removed the two gourds from her Bakora Staff, opening the lids of each, and — for once — carefully — poured something onto each palm.
"Rafiki told me that these two gourds on my staff represent the past and the future, and I think I know why, now! So, this staff I have right now wasn't originally my staff, it actually belonged to the old Mjuzi at the Tree of Life..."
Vitani nodded rigorously, anxious beyond belief.
"I found these powders left in the gourds! I asked Rafiki what they were, and he said one is called Zamani, and the other is Baadaye. One lets you see visions of your past, and the other lets you see your future! Rafiki told me he used the Baadaye powder on Scar to show him his future. But, we all know Scar didn't listen to his warning."
Vitani looked at Makini's hand. In each palm were powders of a vivid blue and orange. Mystery of its appearance and origin almost gave it a slight radiance.
"Please tell me you know which one is which…" Vitani knew Makini at this point. It would be in-character for this to be the next thing to somehow tragically and comically mess up.
"Actually I do! I remembered their colors! Colors are the one thing I know I can remember good. You need the blue one!" she then inhaled shakily, "Buuuut…"
"Noo…" Vitani whined to herself, shutting her eyes.
"I kinda… sorta… forgot how the powders are applied." Makini shrugged sheepishly.
"Great…" the Fiercest groaned, stepping away as Makini kept the blue powder in her ahand and placed the orange powder back.
"Don't know if you eat it, or — No, certainly doesn't look like you should." the mandrill thought deeper, "Or was it —"
Suddenly, the wind coming from outside swept the blue powder from Makini's hand. Vitani was unfortunately in the splash zone. The powder had blown into her eyes.
Makini bit her lip anxiously, "Or that could work."
"OW! Agghh! Makini, what the —"
"Sorry!" the mandrill winced, "Are you okay?"
The Fiercest frantically began rubbing her eyes with a paw, preparing for the stinging and burning. Oddly, there was none. Instead, however, she felt a numbness. Testing to see if it really was such, she blinked a couple of times. She felt comfortable to fully open them.
She began to see little blooms of blue specks in her view. They were like eye floaters, but they glowed, and morphed into mandala-like patterns until it filled her field of vision.
She saw her surroundings change from a dark cavern to her old termite mound home. Everything was starting to look like where she was in her dream, with a blue tint on everyone and everything.
"Makini, i-it's working!" Vitani gawked, astonished.
Suddenly, where the mandrill would be standing, was instead Zira., who towered over Vitani and was berating her, just like in her dream.
"Oh, quit your sniffling. It's going to get you nowhere! Get up before I give you a real reason to cry! NOW!"
"Mother, please! I won't disappoint you again, Mother!" the toddler sobbed.
Zira's form once again morphed into another lion. It became bulkier with a red mane, and with a scar over his left eye. His voice was raspy and scheming.
"You're seriously going to let a bunch of crows get to you? Are you a helpless little lower animal like them?!"
"I'm sorry-y-y!" the cub sobbed heavily, almost unable to breathe.
"A real lion doesn't sit here and cry! Get up, Zira! NOW!" the red-maned lion yelled.
Zira curled into a ball. She was sobbing, but she felt frustration build up too. It wasn't fair, the way she was being yelled at. But she still failed him. She shouldn't have tried to befriend those crows, as lonely as she was when she would stay over at the Outlands. She mustn't be so desperate to trust just about any animal.
The lion quickly changed his tone as to not completely terrify his little daughter. Screaming wasn't helping, he used a disarming charm that worked on her before.
"You want to be a mighty lion like me, don't you? You want to make the Pride back home proud of you to be one of them, right? I want to be one of them again. Help me, Zira, help the family come back together, and you can see your mother again. Don't you want that?"
Little Zira sniffled, "Yes."
"Yes. There's my mighty lion. Always be stronger than everyone thinks you are. Lions Over All! Lions Over All!" he chanted.
"Wait..." Vitani said aloud, "This is —"
Vitani was seeing way beyond what she recalled in the dream. She realized now that the Zamani hadn't taken her to the recent past, but the distant past.
The vision continued on, and pretty soon, she found herself in a deep, red dystopia. It was the Pridelands, but from an era she'd never known. A time where all animals took on a much more primitive appearance.
She seemed to be chasing a group of a type of animal she hadn't seen in the Pridelands before. Others of her own kind were doing the same thing, even going so far as to needlessly massacring the animals for sport, or as a punishment for existing.
Watching all this activity with a cold and callous gaze was a leonine silhouette standing atop a towering kopje. He sported a familiar mark above his right eye.
"Lions Over All!" he bellowed for all of the ancient land to hear, as if he wanted the lions in the sky to hear him.
"Lions Over All!" the fleet of pillager lions echoed. The message deeply engrained into their minds and hearts.
The visions and voices of these lions of the past had swarmed Vitani. The flashbacks all becoming one and playing back-to-back.
Just then, a gray lioness with eyes and a tuft like Vitani's appeared before her. She spoke with a kind, gentle, and timid voice.
"What's wrong, my little Moonlight?"
The mysterious lioness' appearance fizzled, and there remained Vitani's reflection on a shiny rock. Back to reality.
She yelped and hyperventilated from the bizarre visions. So taken aback by the frightening sights that she felt like she couldn't swallow nor catch her breath. She lied on the ground against the rock, staring upward.
"Vitani!" cried Makini as she bounded over to the lioness, "Vitani! Are you okay?!"
"I... I think I would like some privacy to paint, please." was all the Fiercest could muster, absolutely dazed.
____
Up in the main den lied Kiara. Her eyes filled with tears as she anticipated the future. So many changes were coming their way, and she didn't know how to tell anyone.
"Kiara, honey? May we come in?" asked Nala, who peeked into the entrance.
"It's open." Kiara said flatly.
Nala could still sense Kiara's tension from the humiliation yesterday. It was probably time to talk about it, knowing Kiara's honesty about her feelings.
"Baby, I thought you were finally ready for your coronation. Your dad and I told you we trusted you with the crown."
"I know, Mom, but... everything's changing so much. I don't know what everyone will think about... Just... what if I forget about who I am?"
Kiara was too afraid to say heavier things that were truly on her mind. No, her family wasn't ready.
"Kiara, I know change can be daunting, but sometimes it makes you who you are." Nala rubbed a brow against Kiara's.
"Your mother's right." Sarabi added as she entered the den, "In life, you will always learn about yourself, and become a refined lion. Your father most certainly did, and so did your grandfather."
Sarabi's eyes became glossy at the last part. Her husband would always be a part of her.
Sarafina followed Sarabi, as she always did in life. She had fetched a tortoise shell of fresh, cold water for her granddaughter.
"There ya go, Sweetie." she said, "To calm your nerves, a little."
"Thank you, Nanna." Kiara said sweetly, but still glum.
"Kiara, we trust that you can become a beloved and capable Queen. We've seen your cooperation with herd leaders." Nala said, "And Jasiri. You changed the Outlands forever by welcoming her to the Summit."
"See? Even you've made big changes. You're famous for it! And we can't forget you and that boy Kovu making us all one big, happy family!" Sarafina chimed.
Kiara's heart jumped for a second until she remembered what her Nanna meant. Right. That.
"You're a risktaker, but an openminded and levelheaded one." Sarabi observed.
Kiara smiled nervously, but tears still welled up.
They all saw this, and exchanged concerned looks before they all rubbed foreheads against her in unison.
"Thank you..." Kiara closed her eyes as she embraced them, "But what about Kion...? I totally wasted his time. I made him come all this way just so I could flake on him."
"Kion and Rani would come back in a heartbeat for you." Nala said, "I know Kion doesn't show it a whole lot, but he really wants to see you become Queen."
Kiara again tried to crack a smile, but she was just so touched by her mother's words.
"I need time to figure this out." the Future Queen finally said.
"Alright, we'll give you some space." assured Nala, "Just remember: You will always be yourself, even when you're Queen. The Queens of the Past will guide you, and so will we."
Nala turned away to the exit. The elders looked on at Kiara with love and still with concern before following suit.
Kiara continued sulking long after they left, but she eventually gave into her Nanna's kind gesture of water. Slowly, she dipped her nose into the shell, and lapped up the cool water.
However, as soon as the water reached her stomach, Kiara felt... strange. It's almost like she had lost consciousness, but her body was still up.
Pretty soon, she was trapped in her own body, which began to lick its chops as the water dripped from its chin. Her eyes took on a vivid azure glow as she cracked a grin to herself.
"I feel... much better, now." she said with a sinister tone, one she'd never used before.
____
Finishing her very own masterpiece after several hours of hunched-over work on few hours of sleep, Vitani finally managed to convince herself to sit up and refresh. The lioness had headed over to Lake Shangaza to clean the paint stains from her paws.
As she rinsed her paws, she caught her reflection in the water. She saw her exhausted eyes, and — under her tuft — what appeared to be her gash from last night all patched up.
She wasn't sure if it was the sleep deprivation, or if she'd still been under the effects of the Zamani powder, but when she stared into her reflection in the water long enough, she could swear she saw her mother's ghastly face appear for a moment.
Her body jerked back from the jumpscare. She glanced back to find nothing there. She was confused, and genuinely terrified, even though it may have been an illusion.
Though, this reminded her; perhaps she could contact a ghost she knew was on her side...
She lit a torch and said her summoning phrase:
"Roho ya Moto!"
A puff of fire exploded from the flame of the torch until it resembled her brother.
"What?! What's goin' on?! Where's the danger?!" Nuka whipped around, his paws chopping the air defensively.
"No danger, here." Vitani deadpanned.
"Lookie here, Vitani," he scowled, "You can't just summon me every time you break a claw!"
"Nuka..."
"You know how much energy it takes to —"
"Nuka." she snapped, "I summoned you for a reason. I have a genuine question that only you can answer."
"Fire away." he said bluntly. He'd realized his unintentional pun, and snickered to himself a bit.
"Have you... have you ever seen Mother up there, or... wherever it is you go? What does she look like?"
"Um... not recently?"
Vitani's eyes became curious, "Really? What do you mean recently? What does she look li —"
A raindrop landed on Vitani's nose. She looked up to see dark clouds she hadn't even noticed rolling over the lake.
SIZZLE
"OW!!" Nuka cried.
Vitani looked over to Nuka, and caught a worrying sight: Where there was fire around his being, there was now black, crusty spots that steamed.
"Nuka, what's happening?!"
"Ow, it's the rain! I can't be touched by rain, or I'll turn to smoke!" he cried, trying to blow fire onto himself where there wasn't.
"Well, we gotta get you out of here!" she cried, panicking.
"Ugh, come on, say the phrase!" he grunted as he waved his paws frantically.
"Okay, okay! Errr — Roho ya Moto!" Vitani said rapidly.
POOF!
The flame shrank into the stick shortly before it could be snuffed another, more permanent way.
"Well, that was brief." she muttered, not knowing at all how to feel today.
She couldn't see that in the distance stood a lioness. One who watched her entire interaction with Nuka.
The lioness turned away, back to the direction of Pride Rock.
Not too long later, the rain had mysteriously stopped.
Imara and Kasi muttered to each other about the events last night, expressing concern for Kiara along with the odd weather. They spotted Vitani wandering close to Pride Rock. She seemed pensive, but also dazed. After seeing her stumble a bit, they rushed their stroll.
"Hey, 'Tani." greeted Kasi, characteristically arriving first.
"We're about to head to our patrol routes." added Imara, "We split into groups, today."
"Taz and Shabs already headed out." Kasi said, "You wanna go with them, or us? Please pick us..."
Imara nudged Kasi. The smaller lioness got a better look at her tired friend.
"Hey, you good?" asked the Fastest.
"Um, yeah..." Vitani slowly shook her head, "Headache."
"Right. You probably don't wanna be out here, huh?" Imara said, "You fell pretty bad."
Vitani's memories of her interaction with her mother suddenly flashed back into her mind, along with the frustration with Nuka, and her visions she painted. This day was chaotic, and she just couldn't think of it anymore.
"Uhh, you know what?" she smirked, "I'll go. Joining Team Kasi and Imara."
The two in question exchanged looks. They eventually shrugged, and let their friend take the lead.
"Right this way, Rafiki! I can't wait to show you Vitani's work!" Makini beamed with delight as she took the elder's hand and guided him to the Ponya.
"Yes, yes, Makini, I'm coming." said the old monkey. It was difficult to catch up to his protege, now that he was without his staff, and for a long time, now.
"Welp, here it is! Could you believe a lion made all of this? With her paws?!"
"Hmm..."
Rafiki put a hand on his chin and looked all around the walls of the Ponya, noting many changes outside of just Vitani's work. There were detailed paintings all around made by Makini. He smiled a wrinkled and weary smile to himself, feeling proud and confident in his successor, and hoped she could frequent the Pridelands more.
"Vitani's been feeling a little stressed, lately. So I told her to paint her feelings."
“Hmm, yes. Art therapy is a good form of expression. Excellent idea, Makini.”
Rafiki’s eyes continued to follow every painting on the wall. He could see that not every painting had been finished. They were… very different from a Mjuzi’s paintings, to say the least. Not only from the shapes made from non-opposable, blunt paws, but the paintings were dark in palette and in subject matter.
Murky, grayish browns and deep reds were the main colors used in these nebulous shapes scattered on the wall. Circling everything was what seemed to be black birds swarming every picture. Attempts to draw her own kind were made with as precise shapes as one could make with their paws.
The lions caught Rafiki's eye. Some resembled Zira what with the recognizable stripe on her head, but others seemed familiar as well considering the motifs that surrounded them.
"Makini, take your staff and touch the paintings."
"Oh, o-okay."
With a tap to the wall, the finished paintings glowed a hellish red. The cub Vitani cowered below Zira, and Zira cowered below a similar-looking lion with a scar. The birds circled around them all in a terrifying storm. Rafiki's jaw dropped.
"R-Rafiki?" Makini stammered, a bit horrified at what she saw, "What is it?"
He slowly put his hand down from the wall, and finally spoke.
"That lion... I have seen him before..."
Makini dropped her staff, "Really?"
"Yes. When I made a recent journey to the Outlands to find paintings I had never seen." he said, "How did Vitani see these lions?"
"Vitani had trouble remembering her dream while painting, so I had just the thing — I gave her the Zamani powder I found in my staff! Pretty smart, right?"
"Makini!" the elder mandrill snapped, "You have to be careful with these powders. You cannot just use it all up on something like dreams. This powder is very difficult to find, and can have side effects if used too much!"
"Really?!" Makini gasped, "Ohh, I didn't think of that! I'll put it away, Rafiki! I'll put it way away!"
"Good. Now, come! I must show you something!"
"Rafiki, wait!" Makini cried, still putting the powders in a safe spot — a nook behind some vines.
However, in an attempt to grab her staff while she hurried after him, she didn't see that she'd knocked a gourd from the hiding spot. A mess of orange powder lay scattered about the ground...
((Author's Notes: Yeah remember when I said this would be out July 12th on that one schedule post I made? The one where I basically irreversibly printed those dates that I had to abide by? Well, I was once again a couple of days late because a bunch of ideas and revisions came up. This has to be, like, the most despised production of a chapter/episode so far because this is a very transitional (and kinda filler) installment right after getting to such a high point with the last one. I kept switching a bunch of concepts and dialogue exchange scenes around to make sense of the chronology and why and when such things would happen. I've been so concerned lately with how much everything makes sense rather than just having something jotted down like how uploading this story used to be.
On a positive note, however, Makini was super fun and therapeutic to write. It was so fun to channel informalities like run-on sentences and rambling through her because she's so ADHD-coded lol.
Artist Note: This entire episode is highkey a meta commentary on my struggles to come up with things to draw, even down to overworking an image in my head so much that I actually lose the image altogether, making me give up before the stylus touches the tablet. The struggles with composition and making sense of this story were what played into such a debilitating 9-month hiatus. That, finishing community college, and taking forever to rid myself of a perfectionist art student mindset while making art over the summer is what finally got my head out of my ass, realizing that this story doesn't need to be so overly professional. I get that I wanted to emulate a nonexistent, hypothetical PG-13 show to succeed The Lion Guard, but I'm not a studio, I'm one person jotting down ideas and putting them in a screenshot art style. That's how Vitani's Guard even started, and it's okay if it goes up and down in how refined it is.
Also, I'm thinking of adding that little border with watermarks of the VG logo and episode/chapter number on VG art so we can keep track of when in the story an illustration takes place. What's confusing is that I refer to things as "Seasons" too, like this is "Season 3", for example.
Fun Facts:
The Zamani and Baadaye powder are based on the unnamed orange powder Rafiki used on Scar during the future hallucination sequence in the Disney Villains: Scar comic. DV:S is… not my favorite TLK installment because of how disconnected it feels, kinda feels like someone didn't watch TLK for years and only wrote something based on what they can remember of it. But! There were some aspects I liked, such as the aforementioned eye powder trip scene, these selfish and greedy vultures whose motives are actually established rather than just "hunched bald bird evil haha" that Disney always does. Also, just the general idea of Rafiki and Scar having a dialogue exchange. You never see that anywhere in any other TLK works, I don't think. I love how Rafiki sees something in Scar that no one else can yet, and how much Scar is like the Anakin to Rafiki's Obi-Wan/Yoda. The concept does get ruined by Rafiki seemingly knowing way too much about Scar's intentions, though, it kinda just makes Rafiki look like he just let Scar's tyranny happen :p. Think I'll write a full review on DV:S sometime.
Vitani and Makini's dynamic are an analogy of me taking the word of much younger, passionate artists who simply love what they make and have fun.
"Broken Bird", according to TV Tropes, is a term used to describe once idealistic individuals who had their dreams crushed through tragedy or abuse. The individual's demeanor and personality permanently change and they find it hard to love or get attached in any way again. Vitani and Zira's ideologies and emotional maturity were commonly deeply affected by the actions of their predecessors. Also it just so happened to go with the crow theme.))
Nuka trying to restore his fire by blowing it is based on the visual gag of Lumiere doing the same thing to his candlesticks.
