A TRR opinion / suggestion no one asked for lol regarding the “But it’s the main plot MC likes Liam” vs “But I love Drake/Hana, can MC please stop saying she loves LIam” argument.
I don’t know how the dialogue goes for Drake and Hana romancers out there, so I don’t understand how jarring the “I love Liam” thing is that their MCs do lol, cause I’m going for Liam in this first pt heh.
But from what I’ve seen, it’s pretty out of character for some who are going for Hana / Drake all the way and they don’t want to be “cheating.” While yes, being there for Liam and liking him is the main plot, I think the better way of going about it if you’re falling for another LI is to introduce alternate dialogue where the MC responds differently depending on their romance score with the LIs.
Like, if it’s higher with Drake/Hana, they could start to express doubt when Liam talks to them, show that they are changing their minds about the romance part of their relationship. Maybe in your headcanon your MC just wants to be queen or clear their name. The dialogue could hint that they’re there for someone else now. It doesn’t have to be clear cut already. It could be some romance arc/character development where the MC is slowly becoming unsure about Liam, she’s slowly pulling away, and she’s starting to show him these feelings???? idk what pb’s gameplan is with the story direction so I’ll leave that up in the air heh but those are ideas off the top of my head.
I get an outright statement of different purposes for the MC to be there may be iffy and complicated development wise, but dialogue that just shows reluctance or less “I love Liam” when they’re into someone else is feasible I think. We see in ES that you get a wide array of varying dialogue from the characters depending on your relationship with them.
That’s like 13 characters (11 of the 12, minus MC, plus LIla and Iris) with, idk, about SIX levels of approval? That’s six different reactions and dialogue from 13 different characters towards you based on a relationship point thing. And it only happens in small snippets in the game (i.e. I saw a screens of dislike level Michelle being sassy about the skin products towards MC, while a friendly one puts some on you?) then the game goes on with the main dialogue that is the same for all players regardless of relationship levels.
I think it would be manageable with just ONE character, your TRR MC and their romance relationship point system. This way, Liam-mancers get the “i love Liam dialogue” which makes sense for their route and to the plot, but also Drake/Hana-mancers still have a plot reason for being there, without being weirdly into Liam when they are trying not to be lol.
#just my two cents#it makes me sad to see some trr fans argue about this cause i get the plot argument and also the but i dont love liam argument heh#hi pb just a suggestion#trr#playchoices#rambling
