not sorry but i do not buy the fact that fancy mice live to a maximum of three years but wild mice live to be at least five. especially when there have been fancy mice that have reached 6years. the oldest pet mouse was almost ten years old.

the short lifespan of fancy mice just tells me that improper care is normalized to such a degree that your mouse dying 2-4 years before theyre supposed to is considered standard. that expecting them to live longer than that is unrealistic.

#it's exactly like people saying fish only live to be two years old max. meanwhile i have tetras who have been with me durong my worst #phases of depression. have gone months without being fed or having any water flow at all.#the last remaining tetra is almost 7 years old... just in my care. this doesnt even consider how long she was at the nursery.#Way older than the 2-3 lifespan you find on google.#and again. this was with THE MOST IMPROPER CARE AND AWFUL NEGLECT THAT KEEPS ME UP AT NIGHT.#imagine how long theyd live if i hadnt neglected them at all #it just goes to show the average lifespan of undervalued animals like fish and rodents is not a cemented fact #it's the averages of every abusive child who slammed their hamster against the wall. the averages of every mouse in a petstore dying from #the pine shavings and crowded conditions #it's the averages of breeders who value a buck over a life.#the averages from the billions of mice killed in animal testing.#i think of great danes who are regularly put down at 6yo bc their owners didnt care for them properly knowing yhat they can live to be 12+
