nosy/dusk leland is very like... yes i will throw down with johnny and anyone else for the first while he's held there but if local grandma luda mae is in my way of escape i'm gonna go ahead and give up because i'm not going to hurt a grandma- but i also think she was someone he saw a lot, while he was being hidden from nancy etc. she fixed him up and fed him and fixed his clothes up for him when johnny brought him around. she's one of the earlier positive associations i think, for him, he becomes fond and protective of her like she's his own grandma. and tries to help her around her house as often as he can. esp as she gets older. like i think bc there was kindness at all shown to him early on, by ch 2 he feels part of the family, he was accepted into it. and if not that at least in the way that he like, owes them something. as twisted up as it all is.
