Chapter one:
Summary: Y/N meets Nabi.
✩₊˚.☾⋆⁺₊✧
“Good morning, welcome to Megaversé Café. I'm Y/n. How can I help you today?” Y/n asked politely, her tone warm as she greeted the man standing in front of her. Her gaze lingered on him for a moment longer than usual—he was undeniably handsome. His striking black hair was perfectly styled, and his outfit was sharp and carefully put together. His presence was commanding, like he carried a weight of authority wherever he went.
Y/n’s omega instincts tingled at the powerful aura he radiated, and when his scent hit her nose, it made her pulse quicken. It was the scent of an Alpha, one that could make any omega instinctively feel both drawn to him and slightly intimidated. She swallowed, trying to remain composed, but she couldn’t deny how her body subtly reacted to him, her instincts urging her to be cautious yet respectful.
“Umm… hello,” he spoke softly, his voice calm yet full of purpose. “I heard you run a daycare here? Is that true?” He flashed a polite smile, his eyes briefly roving over Y/n’s face. She was quite beautiful, he noticed, though something about her also felt… different. There was a vulnerability there, one that intrigued him.
“Oh right, yes, we do, sir,” Y/n answered, her smile widening as she relaxed a little. “Are you interested in the program?”
“Yeah,” he nodded. “My mates and I are looking to enroll our pups.” He paused, searching her face for any signs of judgment or surprise. “Is that possible?”
“Of course, sir,” Y/n said eagerly. “You’re in the right place. If you just follow me, I can introduce you to the person in charge of that area.” She gestured toward the door on the opposite side of the counter.
The man, who introduced himself as Chan, gave a small nod of approval and followed her closely. Y/n couldn’t help but notice how attentive he was to his surroundings, his eyes sharp and calculating, like he was weighing every detail.
They made their way down a hallway that led to a spacious daycare center, and as Chan entered, he was immediately impressed. The room was bright and inviting, filled with colorful toys, and it felt like the perfect environment for children. He nodded to himself, already picturing his pups playing in this space.
"So," she began, trying to make small talk to ease her nerves. "Do you have any specific requirements for the pups? Anything you'd like to know about our program?"
"No, just... a safe environment," he replied thoughtfully. His gaze swept the hallway as they passed, and Y/n couldn't help but feel his eyes on her, studying her closely. She glanced over her shoulder, catching the faintest hint of a smile on his lips as he continued. "We just want them to be well taken care of."
She pushed open the door to the office, where a young woman with short, spiky hair was typing away at her laptop.
“Right, okay, this is Yenji. She’ll be able to help you with everything,” Y/n introduced him to the woman sitting behind the reception desk.
“Okay, thank you,” Chan said, squinting a little, trying to recall Y/n’s name. “I’m sorry, could you remind me of your name again?”
“Y/n,” she replied quickly with a soft smile. “If you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask.”
Chan nodded, but as he turned to face Yenji, something about Y/n lingered in his thoughts. Her scent, her movements… his alpha side immediately picked up that she was an omega. It wasn’t just her scent; it was the way she carried herself, the soft yet polite mannerism. There was no mistaking it.
“Thank you once again, have a good day,” Chan said, offering a polite smile. He waved goodbye, and Y/n returned the gesture, heading back toward the counter.
As she walked away, Chan’s curiosity got the better of him. He turned to Yenji. “Is she an omega?” His voice was low, careful not to make it sound like an interrogation, but the question hung in the air.
Yenji chuckled softly, looking up from her laptop. “We normally can’t disclose that kind of information, sir…” she trailed off, her tone turning conspiratorial. “But yes, she is.”
“Ah, I see,” Chan murmured, nodding in understanding. He felt a small pang of something he couldn’t quite identify at the thought, but he quickly pushed it away.
“Oh, don’t worry,” Yenji said, waving him off. “You’re not the first to ask about her. She’s new around here, and she definitely has an effect on Alphas. But she’s a sweetheart, really.”
“Hmm…” Chan hummed thoughtfully. He was still trying to figure her out, but that would have to wait.
Yenji smiled, shifting gears back to business. “Now, shall we get started?” She gestured toward the chair across from her desk. “Please, have a seat.”
Yenji looked up from her laptop, her expression polite but curious. "How can I help you today?"
Chan smiled warmly at her. "I heard you run a daycare for pups. My mates and I were hoping to enroll them."
Yenji raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Of course, we can help you with that. What are their names and ages?"
Just then Nabi’s stroller had just rolled in, and it was Felix, Chan’s mate, who was rushing in with the child.
"I'm so sorry I'm late!" Felix's voice echoed as he hurried into the office, his face flushed with stress. "Nabi was having a meltdown, and the twins got into a fight. It’s been a whole morning!"
Chan's expression softened as he stepped forward to help Felix with the stroller. "It’s okay, don’t worry about it." He gently took the baby bag from Felix’s arms, giving him a smile. "You’re here now. That’s what matters."
Felix sighed in relief, looking over at Yenji. "I’m so sorry we’re late. I hope this doesn’t cause too much trouble."
Yenji waved off his concern, giving him a reassuring smile. "Not at all! We were just going over some details."
Chan and felix sat back down, and the conversation shifted to the practicalities of daycare for their pups. Chan, always a man of few words, laid out the details clearly but Felix was the one doing most of the talking.
“We have seven pups in total,” Felix began, his eyes lighting up at the mention of his little ones. “They haven’t presented yet, so for now they’re just regular pups. We were hoping you could take care of them during the day while we run the pack’s village.”
Felix looked at Yenji with a sheepish smile. “Did you tell her who we are?”
“No,” Chan said, leaning back in his chair. “We’ve been trying to keep it low-key, but it’s hard with how well-known our pack is.”
Felix sighed, shaking his head. “You’d be surprised. Some places don’t care who we are. We’ve had a hard time finding a daycare that’ll take this many pups.”
Yenji’s eyes widened in disbelief. “No way. People refuse you? I don’t get it.”
Felix ran his fingers through his hair, looking frustrated. “They don’t know who we are half the time, and even if they do, we’re still rejected. But we’re glad you can help us.”
Yenji blinked, looking up from her notes. “Wait, a village?”
“Yeah, our pack runs a whole village. We’re the SKZ pack.”
“Wait, the SKZ pack?” Yenji gasped, dropping her pen in surprise. Her eyes widened as she looked from Chan to Felix. “I didn’t realize—wow, it’s such an honor to meet you! I’ve heard so much about your pack.”
Chan chuckled softly, clearly accustomed to the reactions his pack’s name stirred. “Yes, that’s us,” he said with a smirk, though his tone remained humble. “But we’re just a regular family. No need for all the fanfare.”
Yenji couldn’t help but smile. “Right, right,” she said, trying to gather herself. “So, about the pups. How old are they?”
Chan ran through the details smoothly. “Eunji is the oldest, seven years old. Then there’s Joon, who’s also seven but a few months younger. The twins, Aera and Hwan, are six. Tae will turn six soon. Chul is four, and Nabi just turned one last month.”
Yenji scribbled down the information, noting every detail. “Okay, and do they have any dietary requirements?”
“Not really. Their other mum is very strict about their diets, but they’re mostly fine with whatever,” Felix said, though he smiled fondly at the thought of his mate’s fussing over their pups’ food. “They’re picky, but nothing unusual.”
“Alright,” Yenji nodded. “Any illnesses we should know about?”
“Not at all,” Felix replied, thinking for a moment. “Well, Joon did break his arm last week playing in the backyard, but it’s nothing serious.”
“A broken arm?” Yenji raised an eyebrow, noting it down. “Okay, does he need any ongoing medication?”
"Hmm…" Felix thought for a moment. "Just a few things. Some painkillers here and there, and… what’s it called, babe?" He turned to the man.
"Intranasal and dietary supplements," Chan answered, smiling a little sheepishly.
"Right," Felix nodded. "That’s about it. Other than that, they’re pretty healthy."
Yenji gave them an understanding look, eager to help in any way she could. "No problem. We can definitely accommodate that."
"Is there anything specific you’d like to ask about the kids? Diapers, snacks, or dietary restrictions?" Felix asked.
Yenji spoke up. "Actually, does Nabi wear diapers?"
"Yes, she does," Felix confirmed, Yenji started jotting something down. "But we always pack extra in her bag. No offense, but I’m a little bit of a control freak when it comes to what diapers she wears. I also prefer if the kids don’t borrow clothes from other children."
"That’s totally understandable," Yenji nodded, not in the least offended. "We’ll make sure to accommodate that. Actually, I’ll reserve some lockers for you to store extra clothes. Just in case they spill something or need a change."
Felix seemed to relax a little at that. "I appreciate it," he said, looking over at Chan who gave him a reassuring nod.
"I have a question," Chan spoke up, still eyeing the room. "What does their schedule look like? I’m also a little concerned about the cafe being so close by… Anyone can just walk in, right?"
Yenji shook her head immediately. "No need to worry about that at all, sir." She smiled warmly, clearly proud of their security measures. "This is just the front office. I’ll take you to the back where the daycare rooms are, and you’ll see—no one gets in without their parent cards."
"Parent cards?" Chan’s brow furrowed, clearly confused.
"Yes, every parent has to have one to get through the door," Yenji explained, gesturing toward a scanner by the back door. "You just swipe your card, and then the system uses facial recognition to verify your identity. You’ll also need to sign in whenever you pick up or drop off your pups."
Felix raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Okay, but let’s say I lose my card, and someone tries to use it. What happens then?"
Yenji chuckled lightly. "They wouldn’t get through because of the facial recognition system, and our security personnel would definitely stop anyone who wasn’t familiar with the kids. We take safety very seriously here."
Felix purred, clearly satisfied with that answer. "Hm, I like this place already."
"I’m glad to hear that," Yenji replied with a smile. She continued, "As for the kids' schedules, it really depends on the day. Most days, they’ll do arts and crafts, reading, and even digital games. The older ones have structured activities like sports, while the younger ones do more normal activities like sensory play or free time."
"Can we get a copy of their schedule?" Felix asked, clearly curious.
"Of course," Yenji said, scribbling down a few notes before handing Felix a sheet of paper. "Also, we need to know who will be picking up the kids. We’ll get cards made for those individuals as well."
Chan spoke up again, organizing the details. "It’ll mostly be the moms—Han and Felix—but some days, Lee Know and Hyunjin might need to pick them up. So, we’d need cards for all eight contacts."
"Eight?" Yenji blinked in surprise.
"Yes, our schedule is complicated. Trust me, it’s easier this way," Chan chuckled.
The conversation shifted to timing after. "Daycare officially runs from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., but if that doesn’t work for you, we can shift it to 9 a.m. to 3 p.m."
Felix quickly jumped in. "Oh, hyung, can we do the 9 to 3 shift instead? It’ll make it easier for you guys to work in the afternoon, right?"
Chan nodded, thinking it over. "Yeah, I think we’ll go with that."
Yenji jotted down the change. "Got it! We’ll adjust that for you."
As the meeting continued, Felix turned to Yenji with a slight smile. "So, who exactly is in charge of the kids? We just want to make sure they’ll be in good hands."
Yenji smiled back. "Only omegas are in charge of the kids here. We don’t hire alphas, except for security."
Felix let out a relieved sigh. "Thank God. I don’t trust any alphas with my kids unless I’m around."
Yenji smiled, understanding the concern. "I’m a beta, by the way. We’ve got a few of us, but we’re all trained extensively. Your pups will be in great hands."
Felix’s shoulders relaxed at that. "I’m happy to hear that."
"And we have a nurse on staff at all times," Yenji added. "You’ll just need to fill out a medical form. The fee for each pup is 279,640 won."
"Wait, what?" Chan gasped dramatically, earning a playful slap from Felix.
"Hyung, stop it," Felix giggled, swatting him playfully.
Chan pouted. "You omegas are going to make me run broke."
Yenji laughed at their playful exchange. "It gets worse, I’m afraid," she teased.
"Oh God," Chan groaned. "How much more?"
"We can discuss the fees later," Yenji said with a chuckle. "First, let’s finish the campus tour."
Chan grinned. "We’re not buying a new car."
Felix faked a pout. "But baby…"
"Absolutely not unless you’re getting it out of Changbin or I.N's account," Chan teased, looking at Yenji, who couldn’t help but smile at the dynamics of the pack.
Finally, it was time to wrap up the meeting and head for the campus tour. "We can leave Nabi in the stroller while Y/n watches her," Yenji suggested, getting up from the desk. "Don’t worry, she’ll be safe."
Felix’s omega instincts immediately protested. "Uh... Alright, that’s fine," he said reluctantly, but Yenji noticed the concern in his eyes. He didn’t know her, but he didn’t want to leave Nabi with anyone else.
Yenji quickly excused herself to grab Y/n, who was just outside the office. "Do you need me to remove my scent patches?" Y/n asked politely when she entered the room.
"Can you?" Felix asked, his voice soft but firm. "I just don’t want her to get fussy. And please, don’t scent her. I don’t feel comfortable with that."
Y/n gave him an understanding nod. "Of course, I’ll make sure to be gentle with her."
As Chan slowly handed Nabi over to Y/n, he sighed. "God, she’s getting heavy."
"Well, you know how Changbin gets about skinny pups," Felix teased as he adjusted the baby bag.
Y/n carefully cradled Nabi, the little pup settling back to sleep with a small sigh.
Chan, who had been watching all this with a bemused expression, let out a loud huff. "Can we hurry this up? I’ve got a studio session in an hour."
Felix chuckled, shaking his head. "Alright, alright. Let’s go."
"Shall we?" Yenji asked, gesturing toward the hallway. "Follow me, I’ll show you where the daycare rooms are. This area is just for the front office, so it’s not where the kids will be spending their time."
Chan and Felix exchanged a look before following Yenji down the hall, their footsteps echoing in the quiet building. The daycare was spacious, with colorful walls and a number of rooms dedicated to various age groups. As they passed a playroom, Chan’s eyes flickered toward it, noticing the well-organized space and the ample toys.
"This place is bigger than I expected," Felix commented, clearly impressed by the setup. "It seems really well organized."
"We take pride in our facilities," Yenji said with a small smile, leading them into the main area. "We’ve got separate rooms for different age groups."
"Sounds like it’s well-thought-out," Chan said, nodding approvingly.
They made their way through the different sections of the daycare, which were full of age-appropriate toys and even small rest areas. There was a quiet, calming atmosphere to the place, and the alphas were reassured that their pups would be safe here. The walls were decorated with happy drawings from other pups, and each room had its own dedicated staff, all of whom were betas or omegas—never alphas. The care here was personal, and it was clear that the staff was well-trained and genuinely cared about the pups.
As they returned to the office, Y/n was sitting on one of the office sofas, rocking the baby gently with one hand while cooing softly at Nabi, who was still tucked under a light blanket.
"Oh, you sweet little thing," Y/n whispered, a soft smile on her face. The little pup stirred slightly but stayed asleep, her small hands curling into tiny fists as she nuzzled deeper into the warmth of her blanket. Y/n’s omega instincts kicked in as she carefully and gently rocked her, murmuring quiet words of comfort. It was almost like an instinct, this bond that formed between omegas and pups. She couldn’t help but feel a swell of affection for the baby in her arms.
Felix and Chan returned, clearly pleased with the daycare’s setup. Chan took one look at the sleeping Nabi in Y/n’s arms and smiled.
"Looks like she likes you," Felix commented softly, walking over to gently lift Nabi out of Y/n’s arms.
Nabi woke up with a small whimper but settled back when she saw Felix, her mother. "I think she really likes you, Y/n," Felix added, chuckling softly as he took his daughter into his arms. "She’s a little attached."
Y/n smiled warmly, her heart fluttering. "She’s just precious," she cooed, watching as Felix carefully adjusted her in his arms.
“She’s so cute, right?”
Y/n smiled at the baby in her arms. “She’s adorable.”
Felix’s voice softened as he chuckled. “She takes after I.N, I think.”
"It was an absolute pleasure working with you both," Yenji said, excited that such a well-known pack would be joining their daycare.
"I’ll be seeing you on Monday then," Y/n added, her smile warm but slightly bittersweet.
"Yes you will," Chan responded pulling out his phone to check a message.
After completing the final bits of paperwork, Chan, Felix, and Yenji exchanged a few more pleasantries, clearly satisfied with their decision to enroll their pups here.
As Chan, who had been watching all this with an amused smile, stood up, he gave them a friendly wave. "Have a good day, guys!" His voice carried a light tone, though his eyes flickered a deep red for just a second.
Y/n blinked in surprise at the brief flash of red in Chan's eyes. It wasn’t something she saw often, but the flicker was enough to make her heart skip a beat.
Chan was more focused on the fact that Y/n’s scent was undeniably strong now. His alpha instincts reacted involuntarily, stirring a sharp, deep craving within him. He quickly averted his gaze, trying to control the pull he felt.
Damn, he thought, swallowing hard. Her scent is so strong…

shoujo touya save meeee pleaseee shoujo touya save me from the trenchessss
pull me through // touya todoroki
You awkwardly stood a few steps behind Touya as he felt around under the doormat for the spare key to his home. You two got along quite well for a couple of students who were on the opposite sides of the rankings, but never close enough to visit each other's home like this.
You were student council president, and Touya got suspended for setting the toilet on fire last year. That is how far you two were.
"Alright, come on in." He holds the door open for you to walk in before him.
At first glance, it seemed close to extravagant, but the closer you looked, it felt cozier by the second from the amount of framed photos, artwork, and trinkets displayed on every wall and counter.
In the living room, his younger siblings were all lined up like ducks as if they were awaiting for your arrival.
"Hi Fuyumi." You threw a wave at her.
"Hi Y/N!" She beams back.
You two worked on the student council together, so you were already close with her despite being a year older.
"Wait, this is Y/N?" The middle child with all white hair exclaims.
Fuyumi quickly swats her brother's arm, shushing him.
"Oooohh. Y/N, I know you!" The littlest one states, stepping up to you with an All Might figurine in hand.
"Oh do you?" You cock an eyebrow at Touya as he takes your jacket to put up by the door and your school bag off of your shoulder. You bent down to his level. "Your brother talks about me often?"
"No I don't." He quips before he could answer for himself, shooting a glare in their direction. "I don't know what either of them are talking about."
"Meet my ball and chains." He huffs with a hint of a smile in his voice. "Shouto, Natsuo, and you already know Fuyumi from your nerd thing."
"Can I play with them?" Shouto asks, moving over to Touya to tug on his pant leg.
"No you can't, turd. We have to work on a project so none of you bother us. Kay?" He motions you to follow him upstairs, slinging both of your bags over his shoulder.
You quickly follow behind him. "But maybe after!" You call out from midway up the stairs, giving them a final wave.
Upon entering his room, he sets your bag on his desk, letting you take the seat while he settles on his bed right next to you, whipping his laptop open.
Despite being somewhat of a delinquent, you knew that Touya was smart and had capabilities to be top of the class if he really cared to. You had no worries about this project, but the circumstance of being alone in his bedroom on the other hand, almost made you nervous,
"Your siblings seem to like me." You broke the tense silence as you two logged onto your presentation. "You definitely talk about me, huh?"
"It's probably Fuy. She's a big fan of yours." He glances over at you. "She talks about you way too much around here."
"You got a problem with that?"
"What, like I don't get enough of you at school?" He chuckles, biting on the end of his pen. "Don't I, Prez?"
"Lucky you, then. Not many people have that kind of access to me. I'm pretty high in demand, if you ask me." You tease back, meeting his eye for a moment before returning your attention back on your screen.
He pushes his laptop out and leans back in his bed, propping his upper half up on his elbow to face you with his pen still hanging out of his mouth.
"I wonder how those people feel about you spending all that time with such a loser like me? Not scared to tarnish that golden reputation of yours?"
"You give yourself too much credit." You laugh. "You've been such a good boy lately, I don't think anyone really bats an eye." You say sweetly, swiveling your chair to fully face him.
He chuckles to himself and diverts his eyes away from yours as a rush of blood floods to his cheek.
"Anyways..." He clears his throat, rubbing the back of his neck as his ears slightly flush into red. "Back to this bullshit."
You two talk back and forth about the project for a while, slipping into silence every now and then as you work on your respective slides.
In your peripheral, you noticed that every so often, he would glance up at you from his screen like clockwork. It makes you a bit too self aware of yourself, forcing you to keep your posture straight, not to bounce your leg too much, and to keep your fidgeting at bay.
"You're grinding your teeth." He mutters, breaking the silence. "I can hear it, like sandpaper."
"It's just a focus thing." You reply, biting the inside of your cheeks to combat the habit.
"I can't stop looking at them in class.." You hear from outside of the door, paired with the boys' giggling. "...They're all I can think about, I feel so stupid."
You and Touya both stop shoot each other a confused glance, not quite sure what Natsuo and Shouto were going on about in the hallway.
"What are they doing?" You lean in and whisper.
"I don't fucking know?" He shrugs. "Maybe reading one of Fuy's books?"
"How cute." You chuckle, returning your attention to the project.
"Prez would never want a guy like me. I want to do better, but I'm fucking hopeless." The boys start, their footsteps running up and down the hallway this time.
"Natsuo! That's a bad word, you can't say that!" Shouto cries.
Your eyes widened and glanced over at Touya, whose face had now drained of color, jaw slightly gaped open.
He slams his laptop shut and frantically feels around under his pillow and covers, as if he had misplaced something.
"What're you looking for?" You asked, watching him rummage through his school bag after going through his bed.
"I'm going to fucking kill them." He mutters, throwing his bag on the floor. "I'm actually going to kill them."
He walks over to swing his bedroom door open, revealing the two boys leaning against the wall with a book in hand, flipping through the pages.
"Where the fuck did you two get that!?"
The two younger boys scream and scurry down the hall with Touya right on their tail. You follow them out into the hallway, watching them run a muck around the house.
Natsuo and Shouto eventually circle their way back to Touya's room, shoving themselves right behind you a second before Touya is able to get to them.
"Guys?" You look down at Shouto clutching your leg and Natsuo breathing hard, peering over your shoulder. "What did you two do?" You put a hand down on the top of Shouto's head, tapping it to get his attention up at you.
"Natsuo did it!" He cries, burying his face into your side. "I didn't do anything." He muffled into your shirt.
"You're the one who gave me his diary, you liar!" Natsuo reaches over and flicks Shouto's head. "Shouto did it!"
"What the hell is going on?" Fuyumi comes out of her room.
"These fuckers went through my things." Touya huffs, face now red. "Y/N. Move over please." He inches closer.
"No! Y/N please!" Natsuo cries behind you, clutching on you tighter.
"Whoooaa. Okay, okay let's relax everyone." You nervously chuckle.
"You, take a step back." You put a finger on Touya's chest, lightly pressing him to take a couple steps back into the hallways.
You noticed Touya clenching onto a journal so tight that his knuckles were white, jaw tense seething with anger.
"You two, go with your sister." You pried the two kids from your side, ushering them towards Fuyumi, in which she properly slapped the back of their heads the moment they got to her.
"Idiots. What did I tell you guys? Get in." She huffs before closing the door behind them.
"Don't think you're safe! Your ass is grass once Y/N leaves." He calls out before the door clicks shut.
"You, stop it. Come inside." You pull him in by the elbow.
"Jesus fucking christ." He groans into his hands, throwing the journal on his bed. "You didn't hear any of that, alright? None of that happened."
"Yup. You got it." You silently chuckle to yourself. "Absolutely nothing."
You watch him shove the journal deep into his school bag before throwing it back on the ground and flopping down in his bed, face buried in his pillow.
"FUCK!" He screams into his pillow, tightly gripping the sides of it.
"Okay let's just finish this shit and get it over with." He huffs, turning on his back and leaning up against the headboard, dragging his laptop back up to his lap.
"Oh so you really didn't wanna talk about it?"
"Talk about what?" He shoots you a threatening glance.
You ignored the hostile look, anyways. "You have a crush on me." You bite your bottom lip to hide a side. "That's what that was, right?"
"Who said all that shit was about you, huh?"
"You got another 'Prez' in your life?" You cock an eyebrow.
He went silent for a moment, running a hand through his hair and blowing out a breath of air.
"Let's not do this right now."
"That's fine." You turn your attention back to your laptop. "I'm just saying, though, you don't have to do 'better' for me to like you. I already do."
Another beat of silence passes.
"Cool. Cool." He squeaks out. "Um. Can you double check my slides for me?" He coughs.
You looked at him in your peripheral to see him covering the bottom half of his face with his hand, hiding the impending blush creeping up his face as he kept his eyes glued to his screen.
"Sure." You smiled. "Only if you double check mine."
-
bonus scene hehe:
over the next week of school, touya had been actively avoiding you- which you expected. it wasn't until one late school day where you had to stay behind for your council meeting when you caught him waiting by your cubby.
"touya." you greeted, holding out your bag for him to take while you started switching your shoes out. "what are you still doing here?"
"got a request to deliver to you, prez." he responds with a smirk, leaning up against the cubbies with your bag under his arm.
"oh yeah? well unfortunate for you, but i'm off the clock. you should file it in the student council box."
"it's a special request that can only be delivered in person." he rolls his eyes. "also i'm walking you home, so you don't really have a choice."
you laugh, starting your way out of school. "okay, then. go for it."
"go out with me this weekend."
your breath hitches from surprise. you had to admit to yourself that you had been waiting for some sort of confession or at the very least a chat about the last time you had seen him, but for him to almost demand a date with you caught you off guard.
"really?" you snap your attention to him, face heating up.
"really."
"i'd love to." you smile. "you feel like talking about it now? or do i gotta go through your diary for that?"
"shut up. it's a journal- two very different things." he nudges you with his elbow. "fuyumi yelled at me after you left and told me that i was an emotionally constipated prick, so i guess that inspired me to get my shit together."
"sooo.." you motion for him to continue.
"sooo...i like you. i have for a while." he starts "and i got my marks up for this quarter. for you. well, technically for me, but i wanted you to see that i was trying."
your heart swelled at this simple act. "you didn't have to do that. i told you i like you regardless- even after you set the toilet on fire."
"we don't talk about that version of me last year." he laughs "and i wanted to. you made me want to do it for me."
you two continue to walk home chirping in conversation and light teases. you had always been drawn to him despite his bad habits and annoying mannerisms, but you knew he always had it in him to do good things and make better choices for himself. knowing that he did it because of his inspiration to be a good person for you only made you like him more.

A Promise

Careful tapping filled the tense silence of your apartment—accompanied by your occasional stomping to the kitchen and back—as Zayne typed away at his laptop. It was getting dark out, and it was usually around this hour when patient forms and research articles blurred into an incoherent mess. The doctor looked up from his screen, blinking away the strain in his hazel eyes, before glancing around. “Love, have you seen my glasses?” You don’t respond. Instead, he hears your heavy footfall in the next room until the bedroom door abruptly swings open. Zayne glances at you, and you impatiently present him with the article he’s looking for. Except, you’re holding them by the lens. Zayne says nothing as he accepts the smudged glasses.
“Have fun reading.” You mutter under your breath and stomp back to the bedroom. Zayne simply stares at the dirty glasses for a moment before sighing and shutting his laptop. You’re angry. Still angry. Have been since your hospital visit this afternoon. And Zayne isn’t sure how to approach you, so—like a coward—he busied himself with work to avoid your ire. He managed to convince himself you needed space, that you would pout and cross your arms for a bit, but ultimately come around to see his side of things. That never happened. You locked yourself away in the bedroom after getting home, and when Zayne called you over for dinner, you took the plate to go. At that point, perhaps someone braver than Zayne would have followed you and finally talked it out. Zayne sat alone and ate in silence instead.
He pinched the bridge of his noise and inhaled deeply. Right.
The bedroom door creaked as Zayne gently pushed it open to find you scrolling away on your phone. You were resting, at least, like he suggested you did. “Have you taken your vitamins yet? I can bring you a glass of water.” His soft gaze never left you.
You didn’t even glance up from your phone. “Why? Gonna tell Jenna if I don’t?” Well, then, there was no avoiding it now.
Zayne stepped further into the bedroom. “No, but it would make your doctor feel better if you did.” You did glance at him this time, albeit briefly, to glare. “We should talk about this.”
Your nostrils flared at the statement. “Oh, so now you want my opinion?”
“I’ve always valued your opinion.” Zayne sat at the opposite end of the bed now, and you groaned as you turned away from him. He’s never seen you like this. At least, not with him. Knowing he was at the root of your anger weighed painfully on his chest. It hurt to breathe, even. “But when it comes to your health, I am always going to prioritize your well-being. No matter what.”
“You went behind my back, Zayne.” Your voice was low, spine facing him, but he hung on your every word. “You just went ahead and told my captain I’d be taking the week off before you even told me.”
“I…regret that.” Zayne clasped his hands together awkwardly, “I should have let you known first. Listened to you.” When you said nothing, he let out a small breath, “But I am not letting myself regret making you take the week off.”
At this, you finally sat up to whirl around and huff at him. “That wasn’t your choice to make. It was mine. My choice.”
Zayne met your heated gaze with an intensity of his own. “You walked into my office half-dead and bleeding—”
“I was not half-dead, it was a concussion!”
“Well, you scared me half to death. How could I, in good conscience, just let you return to work like that?” Your mouth opened, then closed. Did you have any idea how terrified he was? “When I saw you,” Zayne paused to swallow around nothing, “My first thought was, how many more times will I have to see you like that?” His brow furrowed, and those green eyes desperately darted to the bandage on your forehead.
“It’s part of the job.” Your voice held no bite to it. Instead, you watched him as closely as he watched you now, “You know that.”
“I know that.” He repeated, “I know.” His jaw clenched, and his voice came out smaller than he expected it to, “...And what if you don’t make it to the hospital next time?” You inhaled sharply and looked away now, head dropping to distract yourself with Zayne’s bedding. “You constantly throw yourself into harm’s way, again and again, with little regard to your heart condition. Can you blame me for taking matters into my own hands?” He watched the fabric of his comforter scrunch underneath his fist.
You seemed considerably calmer now and managed a glance at him. “...I really worried you today, didn’t I?”
“I am always worried. More than I’d like to admit.” He added softly.
The moment hung in the air for several seconds. “You could have just told me that from the beginning, you know.” You mumbled—face burning—and Zayne finally looked up, “I know I tend to ignore your medical advice, but if I had known how you were really feeling, I would have listened to you. Anything to reassure you.”
Zayne knew that already. He knew, deep down, you might agree to taking time off. But his heart reacted before his mind did; he feared the worst. If only he were better at expressing himself, this entire conversation could have been avoided. Guilt sank his shoulders. “I’m sorry.”
The bed dipped, and you were suddenly mere inches from him. He said nothing as you grabbed his hand and laid his palm flat against your clothes. Over your heart. “Do you feel that?” You whispered, eyes searching his. Zayne’s breath hitched in his throat; the gentle drum of your heart beat faster than usual, “It’s still beating, thanks to you.” Your fingers curled around his, and Zayne took the moment to ground himself. You were so warm, so alive. You were okay. “I will always make it home to you, Zayne,” Your other hand gently thumbed his cheek, “I promised my doctor I would, after all.”
He averted his gaze, embarrassed, as a breathy chuckle left him. Zayne felt ridiculous. You were the one with a concussion, yet here you were comforting him. “Can you make another promise? To just me?”
You perked up, clearly in a better mood now, “Anything.”
He brought your hands together to clasp them in his larger ones, “Promise me,” Then he brought them to his lips, “you’ll remember I’m always here for you.”
The kiss he placed on your knuckles brought the first smile to your lips all day. “What a sap.” You murmured timidly, and averted your eyes from Zayne’s. But he didn’t relent; this was the closest you’ve both been since your argument began this afternoon. You had no idea how sorely he itched to be at your side, to be within arm’s reach of whatever you could possibly want or need. Now that the matter was settled, he had no intention of letting you slip away.
“Rest now,” And he kissed your hands again just because he could, “I’ll grab your vitamins and make tea.” He reluctantly pulled away to do just that—and completely missed the impish glint in your eye. Before Zayne could fully stand, a swift pair of arms wrapped themselves around his neck and tugged. A grunt of surprise left him as he fell forward and braced himself just in time to avoid crushing you. Wide eyes met your twinkling gaze, and you had the audacity to laugh at his expression. “Your concussion—”
“Don’t leave me, Dr. Zayne!” You wailed dramatically, “The only vitamin I need right now is vitamin you.”
“Stop.” His ears burned hot with embarrassment before you even finished your sentence. You’ve used that line before, every time he offered you vitamins, in fact. He should’ve seen it coming, honestly.
“And why should I? You’re too easy to tease,” You laughed to yourself and brushed disheveled bangs out of his flustered eyes. Then your gaze softened, “Come here?”
Zayne hesitated. “I shouldn’t. You need to rest properly.” But your arms only tugged at his shoulders impatiently.
“I can’t rest properly unless you come closer.” Zayne sighed, but smiled down at you gently. You could read him like an open book by now, and something told Zayne this was more for his benefit than your own.
“Just for a few minutes.” Zayne carefully lowered himself to nuzzle into the crook of your neck, arms instantly wrapping themselves around your waist, “And then you’re taking your vitamins.”
“Mhm…” Your own hands began their lazy circles across his back, one reaching up to slide into his raven hair, “I missed you, too, by the way.” He chuckled softly against your skin.
Like an open book.

Remus is not having a good day because it’s abundantly clear to him that you’re not having a good day.
He’s spending the day working at yours, because his wifi is fucked and for once it isn’t just an excuse to spend time with you. Although he supposes he could have turned to Sirius who lives far closer to him than you do, so it’s a bit of an excuse to see you after all.
His wifi is fucked though.
So he sits at your tiny dining room table that can only fit two chairs and spends the day trying not to look at you too much opposite him. He fails miserably, and it’s not usually miserable to look at you but each time he does, you look thoroughly despondent.
“Another cuppa, lovely?”
You startle as you look at him over your laptop like you’d forgotten he was there. You have to blink from your screen and back to him a couple of times before you can finally process what he’d said to you.
“Thank you.”
He slips away to the kitchen, socked feet quiet on wooden floors because now he’s terrified of startling you. It’s 3pm in the afternoon and the third cuppa he’s made you today, but he wonders if he should have made you more. He begged you to stop for lunch multiple times but you very gently argued that you’d just got too much to do today, that he could take whatever he wanted from the fridge.
He should have just made you a sandwich without asking. Now he’ll interfere with your dinner if he does. He’s really struggling to know what to do here. As he carries two fresh cups of tea back to the dining room table, he feels a little bit breathless.
”Tea for the pretty lady,” he flirts, because it usually makes you smile this bashful smile that he really likes. But as he places the cup next to you, he notices your watery eyes just as you turn away to hide them.
“Thank you,” you say quietly, all scratchy. Remus feels like he’s about to cry just looking at you, so he makes an effort to pull himself together as he crouches next to your chair.
”Dove?”
You’re still staring at the wall rather than him. He isn’t going to rush you, though, or force you to look at him if you don’t want to. He’ll stay hovering by your side for as long as you’ll let him, but he places a tentative hand on your shin after a few seconds so you know he’s with you.
When you turn to face him, sniffling, the first tear has fallen. You were clearly holding them in, and it feels like a physical ache in his chest.
”Sorry,” you say through an empty laugh as more tears fall and you hurry to wipe them away. He squeezes your shin for lack of what to do. He is totally helpless, but there’s also this instinct deep within him that kicks in and tells him to do whatever it takes to fix this.
”It’s okay,” he assures gently, “You want to talk about it?”
”I hate crying,” you say instead, looking upwards to try to stop the tears falling again. He takes a second to kneel down rather than crouch, however much his knees hate it, so that he can reach up and wipe your tears himself. The pads of his thumbs swipe across your cheeks and he hopes you feel at least a little loved.
”I know, lovely.”
He doesn’t say much else, because he’s invited you to speak and you will, when you’re ready. He really really doesn’t want to rush you. Another swipe of his thumb removes another traitorous tear. He keeps his other hand as a steady pressure on your shin even though he doesn’t know if that’s even helpful.
”I don’t even know why I’m crying,” you say, another halfhearted laugh accompanied by more tears, “Nothing’s happened. I’ve just got so much on, and so many emails and texts I haven’t replied to and I saw another one pop up on my phone and I just…”
He nods sympathetically as you trail off and immediately bury your face in your hands as the real sobs start. It’s instinct once again that takes over as he strains upwards to put his arms around you as best he can, one over your shoulders and the other bringing your head to his chest. You go willingly.
He presses his forehead to the top of your head and murmurs into your ear.
”Oh, my girl. You’re alright. I’ve got you, you can cry.”
His words seem to make you cry harder and it only makes him pull you in closer, as close as he can.
You apologise yet again after a few minutes and he just strokes your hair and says nothing. He thinks it helps. You begin to calm down after a little while longer, he can feel you try to pull away and he lets you go easily, shifting until he’s kneeling beside you again.
”God, what a mess I’ve made,” you laugh again, a defence mechanism if he’s ever seen one. You wipe the wet patch you’ve left on his shirt in vain and he catches your hand in his. Brave, he thinks.
”None of that,” he insists softly, “This shirt’s all special now. The day you finally let me see you cry, immortalised in the fabric.”
Your laugh is far more genuine this time and he’s very proud of himself.
“Been wanting to see me cry for a while, have you?”
”All my life, dove. I was beginning to think I’d just have to mean to you and get it over with.”
You gasp dramatically, but it’s all for show.
”I don’t think you have it in you, Remus.”
”Maybe not,” he hums wistfully, “Seeing you cry has just now made the top five of things that make me cry. But I’m glad you trusted me with it.
You soften, visibly, he can see it in your eyes as you tilt your head at him. You press your lips together and wipe your eyes again, but there’s no more tears to be found.
”I suppose if I had to cry, I’m glad you were here for it too,” you say with a small grin and it isn’t like your usual one, but it’s a start. Your face grows a lot more serious as you say, “You make pretty much everything a bit better.”
And he doesn’t know what to do with that at all. If you’d said that to him back when the two of you were sixteen, he might have told you he was in love with you then and there. But he’s not sixteen anymore, and he has enough sense to know this is far from the time for that. So he hopes he isn’t blushing too much and goes back to what he knows.
”Only a bit better?”
You shove him, and he’s on his knees, so he’s quick to lose his balance and go toppling to the floor. It finally brings out your real laugh, loud and giggly, as you wriggle about in your chair.
His knees hurt but all he can feel is delighted.
Soon enough, he heaves himself to standing, pretending to glare at you as he returns to his chair and you’re still giggling.
”Your tea will go cold. I made that for you ages ago, you know.”
”I was crying!”
”I know. It was very annoying,” he says, grinning at you so you know he doesn’t mean a word. You laugh yet again, which is exactly what he was going for, “Seriously, lovely. Please say something when you’re feeling overwhelmed, I can’t bear for all that to be happening in your pretty little head without me knowing.”
He sees you react to the word pretty this time; you preen.
”I don’t want you feeling left out,” you agree teasingly, with a little sigh, “Alright, I’ll tell you. Only if you reply to all my texts for me.
”If you order Chinese for dinner, we can sit on the sofa and reply to them together?”
You look like you could run round the table and hug him again, and he considers his job complete. That little instinct that urged him to fix it calms down and the big instinct he usually has to kiss you senseless returns full force. He sips his tea instead of listening to it, for now.

A/N: You have some things you want to discuss with Harry and you don’t really care if he’s ready to talk about it or not✨
Tumblr media
“Is this where our ten thirty meeting is taking place?” Harry stops typing on his laptop as your voice fills his almost fully unpacked home office, he smiles as he watches you enter the room with your little pink notebook that hasn’t left your side since the two of you got engaged in one hand and your cup of coffee in the other.
“I’m sorry sweetheart I wasn’t aware we had a meeting today?” He quirks a brow at you as you place your coffee down on the top of his desk near the chair he has on the opposite side of the desk as the one he’s currently sitting in.
“Harry we’ve been having coffee together at the same time every Wednesday for over a year.”
“Love that’s not a meeting that’s just our usual coffee date.” You bite back a laugh as you watch Harry shoot you a playful glare as you place your notebook down next to your coffee cup so you can walk around his desk. “I thought I had forgotten about something important.” He lets out a sigh of relief as he looks up at you as he turns in his chair so you’re standing right in front of him, you just roll your eyes as you lean down and place your hands on the arms of his chair.
“Our coffee dates are important.” You argue before you place a kiss to his lips making his hands reach out and hold the sides of your face in an attempt to keep you from pulling away. “But I do want to talk to you about a few things if you have time?” Harry feels himself pout as you pull away from him and stand up causing his hands to fall from your face and into his lap.
“If this is about the seating chart again baby I-”
“It’s not about the seating chart.” You answer with a laugh because you and Harry spent a good two hours the other night over a few glasses of wine going back and forth over the seating chart for the wedding and it ended up with him deciding everyone can just sit wherever they want because he can’t be bothered trying to keep up with who’s not talking to who and who wants to sit by who.
“Thank god.” He mumbles as he turns in his chair so he’s back to facing the front of his desk and presses a few buttons on his laptop before he closes it while you take a seat in the one across from him.
“Do you have time now or should I come-”
“For you my darling,” Harry gives you a smile as he reaches for your cup of coffee making you raise an eyebrow as you watch him bring it up to his lips. “I always have time.” He explains before taking a sip of your drink as you roll your eyes at his cheesiness, something that’s only intensified since he confessed his true feelings to you a few weeks after proposing but you know he’s always enjoyed tossing out lines that make you all blushy and smiley ever since you met him in the kitchen at that house party eleven years ago.
“You’re such a flirt.” You tease as you take your coffee cup from his hands, he just shrugs because you’re not wrong Harry is a naturally flirty person.
“You’re just easy to flirt with.” He says matter of factly as he leans forward in his chair so his forearms are resting on his desk while you take a sip of coffee before placing the cup back down on the desk. Harry watches as you take the pen from the front of your notebook and open it up to a page that has what appears to be a checklist on it but he can’t quite make out what it says before you move the notebook into your lap ending his snooping, the only thing he knows he saw written at the top of the page was ‘marriage ?’s’ so he has an idea of what kind of conversation the two of you are about to have and he’s not exactly sure he’s ready for it.
“I think it’s time we talk about what kind of marriage we want to have.”
“A happy one.”
“Harry I’m being serious.”
“Okay then…a really happy one.”
“Harry.” You send him a warning glare making him just let out a sigh as he leans back in his chair and runs a hand through his hair. “I know we will be happy that’s not an issue. I’m just trying to see if we are on the same page with other things that most couples talk about before getting married that’s all.” You know he doesn’t like to have serious conversations, he’s always been good at avoiding them but when he just gives you a nod you know he’s well aware that this has to happen so you look down at your notebook and look at the first thing on your list of questions. “We haven’t talked about money-”
“That’s the first thing you want to discuss? Money? Love that’s the one thing we don’t need to talk about.”
“Excuse me? We do need to talk about it Harry. Just because you’re well off doesn’t mean we don’t need to talk about it.” Harry wants to roll his eyes but he knows that’ll do more harm than good so he stops himself.
“Isn’t it a husband’s duty to take care of his wife and family and all that? So just consider yourself taken care of.” He regrets the words as soon as they leave his mouth as he watches your eyes go slightly wide and your jaw clench. The thing is Harry hasn’t ever really known how to talk about money with a significant other because he doesn’t know how to go about explaining he can handle everything and then some without sounding like an asshole, but you’re not just some girlfriend he wants to give a credit card to you’re his bestfriend that he’s set to marry so this is different. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean it like that.” His voice is apologetic as he leans over his desk and holds his hands out for you.
“I know you’re more than capable of taking care of everything.” Harry watches as you reach out and place your free hand in both of his as you stare into his eyes and ever so slightly tilt your head to the left and give him a small smile, a little trick you learned over the years that makes him zero in on whatever it is you’re about to say because he can’t help but give you all his attention as his intense stare travels from your mouth up to your eyes. “But marriage is all about being a team right?” You ask as you begin to gently run your fingertips over Harry’s palms in an attempt to help him relax so this conversation can go smoother, when you see him nod you take that as your cue to continue.
“So you have to let me feel like I’m contributing in some sort of way. I’m not exactly sure how to make that happen but I’m just telling you how I’m feeling about it.” You continue to run your fingertips over his palms and down to his wrists as you speak. “I just want it to feel like we are taking care of things instead of just you.” Harry understands where you’re coming from, he really does so he doesn’t hesitate to offer what he thinks is a simple solution, but in reality it’s one that leaves you with a little bit of anxiety.
“I’ll just add you to my accounts and you can have your paychecks deposited into our main account and we can use that to pay for everything.” You rub your lips together as Harry closes his hands around yours so he can give it a gentle squeeze as he watches a wrinkle form between your brows. “Would that help you feel like we are both contributing to paying for things? Since we will both have money going into it you won’t feel like it’s just mine or yours it will be our account.” You blink a few times as you look at Harry with a far off stare and it’s then that he realizes you’re having a bit of a moment so he just sits there and lets you work it out in your mind, he’s known you long enough to know you’ll fire off any questions or comments when you’re ready and he’ll happily answer or just listen to them.
“That’s a lot of pressure.”
“Pressure? What do you mean by that lovey?”
“You-you have a lot of money in your accounts Harry and you want me to just walk around with a card that has access to all of it? What if I lose my wallet? What if someone takes my card? What if I accidentally let someone see me type in my PIN number at the checkout and-”
“Baby just take a deep breath for me okay?” He gives your hand another squeeze as your eyes go wide and your cheeks get a little flush as you start rambling off scenarios in which you think you’ll get your card or account stolen from you. “I understand why you’re freaking out and honestly I appreciate that you’re so worried about it but trust me love it’s okay if you lose your wallet or if something happens. There are protocols for things like that and all of them start with just canceling the card and getting a new one. It’s not that big of a deal I promise.” He brings your hand up to his lips so he can place little kisses to your knuckles as he watches you slowly but surely begin to relax a little.
“Besides I’m the one who’s always losing things.” He sees a small smile form on your face as he gives the top of your hand a kiss. “Remember that time in Jamaica when I just left my wallet and phone at a table in the back of that bar we went to every night? I just walked away and I didn’t even notice until the next morning when my alarm didn’t go off.” You let out a small chuckle at the memory making Harry smile, he keeps his hands wrapped around yours as you look away from him and down to the notebook in your lap.
“I think that’s a good idea I just uh-I will just need time to get comfortable walking around with that amount of responsibly in my wallet that’s all.”
“Are you using the word responsibility instead of money? Because sweetheart if it makes you that nervous just use a digital wallet on your phone and you won’t have to worry about a card.”
“Oh so if someone hacks my phone they’ll have everything in one place? I don’t think so Harry.”
“So now you’re worried about someone hacking your phone? Who are you? Laura Croft? Why would someone want to hack into your phone?”
“Please as if you could talk Laura Croft into marrying you.”
“Don’t be mean just because you know I’m right.”
“I’m your fiancé Harry and that’s all the reason someone would need to try to hack me and do weird shit. Don’t act like it’s so far out of the realm of possibility because you know even as just your bestfriend I had people do some odd things.”
“Baby I’m like actually Harry Styles and I’ve never been hacked.”
“That you know of…”
“Moving on…what’s next? Kids? Prenup? Sex?” You roll your eyes as you slip your hand out of his grasp making him let out a huff, you grab your pen and put a check next to the line that says money.
“As far as sex goes we already know we enjoy each other’s company so I don’t think we need to discuss that? Unless you want to?” Harry smirks as he watches you slowly look up at him from your notebook and you just raise a brow at him.
“Oh I always want to discuss sex with you love.” You can’t stop yourself from shaking your head and laughing at him as he playfully wiggles his eyebrows at you. “Anything off the table? Bondage? Daddy-”
“You really need to let the daddy thing go Harry it was one time and I was drunk off tequila so it’s probably never going to happen again.”
“Probably? So you’re saying there’s a chance it could?”
“Speaking of daddy…do you actually want to be one?” Harry knew this question was going to come up eventually he just wasn’t expecting it to make his palms start to sweat and his heart begin to beat a mile a minute because what if you don’t want kids with him? He’s not sure how to answer your question so he just stares at you for a moment. “You don’t have to have an answer now I just know you’ve mentioned before that you want to have kids so I’m seeing if that’s still a thing you want now that you know they’d be with me?” You look down at your notebook again so you can avoid his gaze, all of Harry’s nerves are washed away when he realizes that you aren’t saying you don’t want kids with him you’re saying you don’t know if he’s the one who wants kids with you and that’s an idea he simply can’t let you keep in your head for a moment longer.
Harry pushes his chair back just enough so he can stand up and walk around his desk, he takes your notebook and pen out of your hands and places them on the desk so he can grab the armrest of your chair and turn it so you’re facing him. He kneels down in front of you and he feels his heart drop a bit when he sees your eyes are a bit glassy and your bottom lip is trembling and he knows it’s because you took his moment of silence as him saying he doesn’t want kids with you. You let out a shaky breath as you try to blink away the tears that want to fall as he gently cups your face with both of his hands.
“I’m sorry I don’t-”
“You have nothing to apologize for love.” His voice is soft and gentle as he leans in and places a kiss to your forehead. “I think it would actually be a crime not give the world as many little versions of you as we can.” He runs his thumbs over your cheekbones as he talks, he knows if you weren’t close to a breakdown that you would be laughing at how cheesy he sounds. “But I would also be just as happy with it being just the two of us for the rest of our lives. It’s up to you if we have kids or not baby and it always will be okay? Just know I’m happy either way.” He hears you let out a sigh as you place your hands on his shoulders.
“God why do you always say things like that?” Harry just chuckles as he raises his shoulder in a casual shrug.
“Sorry it’s your love my darling it just does things to me.”
“Oh yeah right my love isn’t that strong.”
“I don’t know baby it’s pretty powerful…it made me agree to let Niall and Gemma plan our honeymoon send off.”
“That had nothing to do with me. They weren’t going to take no for an answer.” You state as you give his shoulders a little pat as he leans in so the tip of his nose is touching yours making you giggle. “I love you.” Harry smiles before he presses his lips against yours in a sweet kiss.
“I love you too.” You smile as he pulls away from you and drops his hands from your face. “Now I think this is enough seriousness for one morning. Let’s go finish unpacking our closets before they really get out of control.” He stands up making your hands fall from his shoulders but he is quick to catch them in his so he can pull you up out of the chair so you’re standing right in front of him, all in one quick motion.
“Oh don’t fool yourself Harry my closet is done it’s all your tour suits and feather things that are out of control.” You argue as he wraps your arms around his middle so he can wrap his around your shoulders pulling you into him.
“You love my feather things.” He mumbles into the top of your head as you rest your cheek against his chest. “And my suits.” He adds as he gives you a squeeze making you let out a giggle. Harry can’t help but smile as he places a kiss to the top of your head, he knows the two of you still have things to discuss but he feels better having a few of the bigger topics out of the way and he knows you do as well and as long as you’re happy and pleased with how this relationship is going then so is he because your happiness is all he finds himself caring about at the moment.

have you kissed before? ─── sae itoshi x fem! reader.
Tumblr media
about. college roommate! au. ooc sae (just a bit), minor toxicity. fluff? romance? idk. wc of 700+
notes. for @hyoismbbg here's your sae fic ugh
Tumblr media
two months of sharing, sleeping, and breathing in the same room as itoshi sae, star student of the college. and still, you have not gotten quite comfortable with him yet. i mean. who would?
a student with a different gender is doing all of that daily activities with you. how does he feel about it? does he care? is he comfortable? does he ever complain about it to the dorm prefects to beg for a change of rooms?
no. simply because, he has no other choice but to share, sleep, and breathe the same air as you, student of another course, and student of the opposite gender. all the itoshi could do was bare with until the end of the semester until the dorm rooms changed again.
however, it is quite uncomfortable to have someone with him always if he isn't in class, just sitting there either studying or on your laptop. in the purest of silence, you never spoke a word to him. not even if there is a bug or two that needs to be settled. all you ever did was point at it and expect him to flush it down the toilet.
so when you finally decided to speak to him, it was an odd question. out of everything you could have asked to get to know your roommate of two months. you simply asked the most ridiculous question ever and expect him to coolly reply.
“have you ever kissed before?”
itoshi sae tore his gaze away from the book of physics theory and locked his gaze on you. you who laid like a lifeless ragdoll with your sleepy gaze stuck on the ceiling with the dim lights.
it was always around this time where you would go to bed. there is no specific time to sleep, it ranges. but so far as sae knows, it was between 12-12:30am. his teal eyes then glanced at the digital clock beside the desk of his room side and it was already 12:38am. way past the time where you would already be silently sound asleep.
he looks back at you and raises a brow. “i haven't, to answer your question.”
you mouth formed an ‘o’ in surprise. “woah, i overheard someone saying you've kissed quite an amount of girls.”
sae’s face twisted into a grimace. “do you just.. believe in random rumours around town?”
an unsure hum you let out, as you sat up straight, kicking your blanket away. “i wanted to prove them wrong,” you said as the itoshi scoffed. “well then. have you ever kissed before?”
you shook your head and let out a sigh. “a shame, i know. i’ve gotta keep my lips pure and untouched until the man of my dreams kisses it and stains it dirty.”
“oh? and who's this man of your dreams?”
“you.”
the young redhead lets out a little laugh. a little mocking laugh at your answer. before he ceases the little entertainment and figures you are actually quite serious about it. “guess i’ll stop studying and grant you your wishes.”
your eyes watch as he comes closer to you and without a single thought or other words, ace student itoshi sae already has his lips locked onto yours.
how weird. the two of you barely talked. and now he's sitting on the edge of your bed, fingers gently cupping your cheek, and his lips locking with yours. his lips taste like coffee for some odd reason. perhaps for the sole factor of staying up all night studying theories on physics.
for a fact that you've never had your first kiss before and it was so simply taken away by your roommate, you honestly have no idea how to react to it. you didn't know it'd worked so well, even if it was a little prank or a silly dare given to you by your friends to kiss the college's most popular boy.
you were unsure of it, but even if you've never had any feelings ever for this man, now you do. and oh dear, you wish this isn't another of itoshi sae's tricks to entice a woman.
only itoshi sae himself knew how much he wanted to put his lips on yours and discover all of your secrets and the story of your life through your lips. how selfish of the both of you. to be kissing without knowing each other's true motives.

we might just get away with it
Tumblr media
dean ambrose x fem!reader
word count: [4.7k]
warnings: no use of y/n, mild cursing & sexual innuendos, in ring action (reader is a female superstar), overall two idiots being fluffy and in love <3
summary: the four times you and dean thought you were doing a good job at keeping your relationship under wraps + the one time you both ended up getting away with it.
Tumblr media
The camera crew found themselves huddled in the narrow corridor of the arena, a likely place for them to be seeing as though The Authority loved to handle business backstage—but of course not without protection from the forces none other than The Shield.
The three men were already inside on their marks, probably talking amongst themselves with Steph and Hunter while you waited outside, preparing for your cue.
“We’re on in 30 seconds!” a stage hand announced, meticulously checking the stop watch and monitors, ensuring the cameras were in position and ready to roll once commercial break ended.
You bounced from foot to foot, getting yourself ready as time winded down. Glancing over at the crew who gave you a thumbs up, mouthing the final 10 seconds until the show was back on air.
“Action!”
Your fist came in contact with the door, pausing for a couple of seconds before hearing a voice say “come in” from the other side. The cameras followed as you twisted the handle, stepping into the ‘office’ and bringing the boys and bosses into the audience’s view.
The boys kept to themselves on the opposite end of the room, hardened gazes glued to their faces as they stared you down.
You rose your brows at the slightly, portraying your repulsion for the faction and their allegiance to the overbearing bosses. After a brief moment, you turned your attention to Stephanie and Hunter.
“Is there something we can do for you today?” Stephanie looked up from her laptop, shutting it with a sharp slap that made you flinch just a tad.
You shook it off, taking a deep breath before you spoke with the most confidence you could muster.
“I want a shot at the championship.”
Upon hearing your demand, Triple H even looked up from his own laptop, staring at you intently before turning to his wife. The two of them letting out strings of condescending laughter that had you furrowing your brows in annoyance.
“I love the confidence sweetheart, but I think you’ve forgotten how it works around here.” He smirked, bringing his clasped hands up to rest on the wooden desk.
“You can’t just barge into our office and demand a match for the title,” Steph started with a shake of her head.
“We’ve got bigger things to handle and maybe when you start acting like champion material then we can have a talk about a title opportunity.”
She wore that signature evil smirk, your jaw clenching as your rigid hands formed into fists at your sides.
“You bitc—”
Before you could swing, a set of hands wrapped around your waist and another grabbed your wrists, stopping them from crossing the distance to Steph’s cheek. You could feel them behind you, the three of them swarming in too close, making the already cramped room feel claustrophobic.
“Let’s not do anything rash, sweet thing.”
A voice spoke low, breath fanning down your neck sending shivers up your spine, leaving you frozen.
Yet you remained cool, your game face still on as Hunter stood up, shielding his shaken up wife.
“Get her out of here,” He demanded, pointing the boys to the door and scowling at you.
“I’m gonna get my match one way or another!”
You struggled and jerked in their holds, needing to be practically dragged across the room to where Roman held the door wide open.
Seth’s hold on your wrists retracted, pushing you out into the halls, but the pair of hands on your waist that belonged to none other than Dean Ambrose remained, not daring to let you go just yet.
His fingertips dug into the dough of your hips, curbing your fight and forcing you to meet his eyes.
“Next time you pull some crap like that, we won’t be so nice.” He murmured lowly, the two of you boring right through each other.
You scoffed, tongue running across your teeth before tilting your head at him, not making any move to remove his hands from your skin.
“That so? What are you gonna do about it? Power bomb me through a table? C’mon…hit me.” You dared, jutting your chin out though he retract.
Seth and Roman let out guffaws not phased at all, and Dean joined them a few seconds later, shaking their heads at how you managed to be standing in their presence without facing retaliation.
“The Authority and The Shield stand for the same thing: Justice. And whoever defies justice, man or woman, will get what’s coming to them sooner or later.” Seth declared.
You shifted your eyes up to his, “You mean The Authority made The Shield their bitch and now they do their dirty work for them?” You snapped back harshly, watching their faces fall with rage.
Roman grunted something under his breath, shooing you off. “Run along, you don’t want problems with The Shield.”
Dean laughed, squeezing your hips again, though the cameras didn’t catch it, your eyes drifting to meet his.
“What’re you gonna do? Send a little boy toy to get your justice for you?” He mocked.
You rolled your eyes before a small smirk came onto your face. Your eyes looking down between you both an innuendo that all the fans in the building laughed and hooted at.
“Trust me, you and I both know the boys I like are far from little.”
You roughly shoved his arms off of you and walked out of view while the camera panned to the boys peering down your path.
“Cut!” The stage hand called out, already getting the crew out of the tiny space in order to head to the next segment.
You waited patiently off to the side, passing each of the crew members a smile and ‘thank you’ before you skipped back over to the office where the boys stuck around.
“You idiot!” You screeched, drawing a weak fist to Dean’s chest as he snickered and wrapped his arms around your back, drawing you into him.
“I couldn’t help myself,” He shrugged, placing a chaste peck onto your lips, letting you kiss him despite some more not caring about the obvious lipstick marks left behind.
“Off script? Really, you two?” Steph crept up from behind, letting out a laugh despite trying to be serious because even she and her husband were notorious for doing the same back in the day.
Roman shook his head, light heartedly at you two. “I really thought I missed a line in the script.” He admitted, while everyone shared a laugh.
“Is that even PG?” Seth speculated, knowing Vince would have their heads on platters because you and Dean couldn’t help yourselves with a little sexual repartee.
Hunter snorted shifting his palm side to side knowing at the very least it could get flagged with a warning from the network, but it would definitely serve some entertainment from the fans and social media.
“You know one day the fans are going to catch on that this is really a thing.” He gestured between you and Dean’s bodies, the two of you still clinging to each other closely.
You rested your chin on his chest, looking up at him with a glint in your eyes that he returned just as passionately.
“We might just get away with it.”
Tumblr media
Meet and greets were one of the more relaxing sides to the job and it was even better that you got to do it with your boyfriend sitting just a few chairs down.
Many fans, ranging of all ages took their time, greeting you with smiles, hugs, and funny stories, wishing you luck for a title match and you secretly knew was in the works.
A little girl approached you, her parents waving at you excitedly while they trailed behind her with a camera in hand making sure to document the moment their daughter got to meet her favorite wrestler. She sported your merch, alongside a title belt across her waist—the same one you were gunning after.
“You should’ve slapped Dean for not getting his hands off you!” she quipped instantly, hands on her hips, clearly disapproving of Dean’s behavior.
You bursted into a fit of laughter as did the other superstars around you, who high-fived the young gal, applauding her about the lesson Dean Ambrose needed to learn for messing with you. Being a baby face meant kids were especially protective of their favorites, and not wanting them to be tormented by ruthless heels.
“I really should have done that! I’ll remember for next time, okay?” You promised with a giggle, bending down to give her a warm hug.
She undid the belt around her waist, flipping it over so you could sign it. The two of you exchanging small talk before a familiar voice snuck in from behind you, prompting you both to shift your attention to the man himself.
“Hey! You planning on slapping me?” Dean declared, arms crossed over his chest defensively as Seth and Roman remained at his sides.
“Yeah! Don’t touch her again or else she’s going to slap you!”
The girl stood her ground, standing up straighter and glaring harshly at your boyfriend who played along, patting his cheek with a smirk.
“I don’t think she’d risk beating up a pretty face like mine,” he teased, looking over at you with a knowing smile that only you two could read into.
You grinned through the blush covering your cheeks, shaking your head, before pointing at the fan.
“I mean I couldn’t possibly ruin a pretty face like his, but maybe you could?” You suggested, watching as her jaw dropped.
“You mean I slap Dean?” She whispered in your ear, looking at you with hesitation.
You nodded assuringly, rubbing her shoulders like you were getting her pumped up for a fight.
“Yeah c’mon show him that no one messes with the future women’s champion.”
You hyped her up and soon all the superstars joined in chanting “slap him! slap him!”
Dean did his best to hold back a smile, getting down on his knees so that the girl could reach him. His arms spread wide, nodding and egging her on.
“You won’t hit me. Come on, I know you won’t—Oww!”
The slap was tame, even for a child, just a tap with a little force behind it. Instantly the girl cowered back, wrapping her arms around your frame hugging you closely as all the superstars and awaiting fans cheered her on for standing up for you.
“Way to go!” you praised, giving her a high-five and telling her how much she’d be a great wrestler in the future, maybe even the one to take the championship from you.
Eventually Dean slightly broke kayfabe, fist-bumping the girl and pinky promising that he wouldn’t put his hands on you again. All three men posed for a picture with her, frightened and panicky expressions on their faces as the girl held up a mighty fist.
She even got you and Dean to smile for a picture with her—and somehow no one noticed the dainty “D” initial that hung from the chain around your neck.
Tumblr media
You sat in catering, joined by Naomi and Brie, the three of you catching up on life while tuning in to the match that played over the television. It was Seth versus Daniel, with Roman and Dean who got the chance to sit in on commentary for the night.
“I saw that interaction you and Dean had with that cute fan. You guys totally made her day.” Naomi grinned, noting how the little stunt you and Dean pulled was circulating around social media.
It was met with mostly positive lighthearted reactions that somehow didn’t revolve around the rumors that you were together in real life.
“Oh, she was adorable! I just wished she slapped Dean a little harder.” You shrieked, making the girls laugh thinking of how much fun this girl must have had.
Michael Cole’s voice drew your attention back to the TV.
“Dean last week you and the boys got into some stuff backstage with a certain female superstar. I suppose The Authority has you all on high alert after Steph nearly got attacked on your watch.”
The camera panned slightly to the commentators’ desk, where Dean’s fingertips tapped against his collarbones, seemingly forgetting the match in front of him at the mention of you.
“We’re used to threats of all kinds, but usually they aren’t this pretty or alluring. And she’s feisty, I’ll tell you that much, but I doubt she’ll want to mess with The Authority as long as The Shield is around,” he replied smugly, glancing over at Roman who nodded in agreement.
“She’s also got quite the smile, if you ask me! She’s drop-dead gorgeous,” The King, Jerry Lawler, jumped into the conversation, adding a whistle for good measure.
Dean’s face twisted in distaste as he shook his head at the legend, “Jeez, relax, would you, King? I’m sure she’s into the younger, more charming kinda guys—you know, piercing blue eyes, killer body, top-notch sense of humor?”
Are you insinuating that—”
“What Dean means is that we’re not letting her distract us. In fact, she’s history from here on out.” Roman cut in.
Interrupting Cole from finishing his sentence that was sure to get Dean in hot water for making the entire match about his in real-life girlfriend whom he was irrevocably in love with.
The girls beside you whistled and giggled like middle-schoolers, knocking their elbows into your shoulders, knowing your boyfriend couldn’t help but get a little jealous even if it was just all for fun—what could you say? Your boyfriend was more than a little protective.
“Oh, he’s obsessed with you!” Brie teased, while you hung your head low, masking your blush behind your hair.
“What he is going to be is fired if he keeps it up.” You groaned half-jokingly, raising your head when you heard the bell ring and their theme song hit.
Roman and Dean slid into the ring, lifting their brother’s arm up in victory and celebrating together before retreating backstage through the crowd. But of course Dean couldn’t miss a poster with your name written across it, smirking at the fan who wore your merch and giving his nod of approval for support.
You quickly said goodbye to the girls, tossing your plate of food into the bins and heading towards the corridor where you knew they would be coming in from. When you arrived, they just so happened to get through the doors, arena security guards shaking their hands and posing for a quick picture and then heading off.
“Really? You know being on commentary means you comment on the match in front of you? Not your girlfriend.”
You crossed your arms across your chest, leaning against the walls as you gawked feigning exasperation.
Roman and Seth snickered, swinging their heads and heading off towards the carts to recuperate, letting you and Dean have your usual banter that turned into a love fest all too fast.
“Is there something going on between you and Jerry? Because I might just put him out of retirement.” He made his way towards you, lifting a speculating brow.
You let your arms fall across his waist, a cheeky smile seeping on to your features at the thought of him truly being jealous over Jerry Lawler, of all people. Yet you didn’t hesitate to iron out his worries, staring up at him fondly.
“It’s an honor to be one of his favorite female superstars, but I can assure you it’s all one sided. My sights are strictly set on a more younger, charming guy with piercing blue eyes and an impeccable sense of humor.”
You chided, poking at his cheek, watching the dimples form when he tried to hold back his smile.
“Some might even say good with the ladies?” He added with a wiggle of his brows while you threw your head back and laughed, pushing at his chest.
“Yeah, right. I’m the only lady he’s good with.”
He nodded in agreement, pulling you closer and placing a quick kiss on your forehead.
“Let’s get out of here before I do something else that gets me in trouble.”
You linked your fingers with his, the two of you strolling back towards the main area of the arena out of the public space.
As you made your way through the dimly lit corridors, a few fans who were taking bathroom and concession stand breaks caught sight of your backs. However, they didn’t recognize you out of your wrestling attire—curiously wondering who was the mystery lady was.
Tumblr media
Dean watched the monitors intently, his knee bouncing up and down anxiously from where he was sitting in gorilla position tuning into your championship contender match against Nikki. The final minutes were winding down, and Brie had already been ejected, sent backstage after the ref caught her trying to aid her twin in the match.
“That’s my girl!” he clapped loud, standing up as you hit your finisher and got the pin—the rest of gorilla cheering for you, knowing it was a long time coming.
You hadn’t told him the outcome of the match, and no matter how hard he tried to get it out of you, it was all worth it seeing you celebrate and get one step closer to your first championship run. When you made it up the ramp and back through the curtain, you were instantly lifted off your feet, your arms clinging around his frame before being smothered in congratulatory kisses.
“I knew you were gonna win it.” He told you, setting you down and tucking strands of your hair behind your ear.
“I think I deserve a celebration tonight, don’t you?” You whispered secretly just for the two of you to hear, both of you sharing grins before he nodded, and placed a kiss on your lips.
“I say we get our segment over with, then get out of here?” He proposed, already hearing the stage hand calling out for the two of you to get into positions backstage.
“I’d like that a lot.” You agreed, taking his hand to where a stagehand was guiding you through the short segment.
Seth, Roman and Steph were already on their marks, greeting you with hugs and salutes before needing to step out of view while the cameras set up. They would be close behind Steph, acting as her personal security personnel for when she confronted you about your match on Sunday.
“Action!”
“Well, well, well,” Stephanie clapped her hands slowly, approaching you where you sat on the carts, icing your shoulder, “Congratulations on being the number one contender for the women’s championship, I guess you are champion material after all.”
You bit the inside of your cheek, grimacing at the strain in your shoulder before standing up to face her.
“Save it, Stephanie, and cut to the chase. What’s the catch? I know you wouldn’t make it this easy for me to get what I want.”
She frowned deceptively, “Do you really think I’m that cruel?” she glanced behind her, questioning the boys, “Can you guys believe that?”
They sneered at you, shaking their heads before Steph turned her attention back to you with a heavy sigh that always meant bad news.
“I’ll have you know that I always knew that you could do it, you just needed someone to light that fire underneath you. And I’m sure you’ll get the job done this Sunday. But just to be very sure, I think The Shield wouldn’t mind a front-row seat at your championship match.”
You clenched your jaw, glaring at her, “I don’t need them causing distractions.”
Dean snorted, gesturing to himself in a self-absorbed manner, “I’m flattered sweetheart, I really am, but your attention really should be on winning.”
You turned your nose up at him, looking the other way “Oh please, don’t let it get to your head Ambrose, you disgust me on many levels.”
Steph clapped her hands, looking at the faction, then back at you.
“Well, it’s settled. The Shield will be ringside for your championship match on Sunday. And I’ll be tuning in…champ.”
With that, she strutted away, leaving you and the boys behind with the camera still focused on you four.
“Stay out of my way,” you growled, eyeing each one of them down threateningly, not wanting your one championship opportunity to be at risk.
“Don’t worry about us.” Roman shook his head, walking off first.
“Wouldn’t want to let that championship slip from right under you.” Seth cackled manically, rubbing his hands together and following suit.
Only you and Dean remained, but this time instead of words being spoken aloud for everyone else to hear, his hands came up to cup around your ear, whispering words only two would ever know.
“I’ll be cheering you on. You know I always am. And you looked sexy out there, by the way.”
He backed off with a wink, leaving you flushed despite trying to play it off as hatred.
The crowd could only wonder what Dean had said to you, and it seemed like Cole and Jerry were just as curious, speaking over commentary about some ideas. Shortly after, the cameras cut, and once again, you were lifted off your feet, Dean hoisting you up a few inches off the ground to give you a proper hug after being rushed in gorilla.
“Congrats again, and don’t forget to go over the script changes!” Stephanie reminded, smiling as she waved goodbye to you and Dean, knowing you two would be pleasantly happy with creative’s turn on the storyline.
Dean raised an eyebrow, calling out to her “Script changes?”
Stephanie grinned, looking over her shoulder towards the both of you. “Just a little tweak for the next show. You’ll like it a lot.”
As she walked away, you and Dean exchanged curious glances not knowing what the script change could be on such short notice.
“Guess we better check those out,” you shrugged tossing the melted ice pack into a nearby trash bin.
He nodded, his hand finding yours again running his fingertips across your knuckles, leaning down to murmur against your lips.
“Yeah, but first, let’s get out of here and celebrate your win. And I meant what I said earlier…you look pretty damn sexy.”
“Lead the way, baby.” You leaned in, letting your lips brush his gingerly, a lingering kiss remaining until you were left to worship the rest of it in privacy.
Tumblr media
“Get up, AJ!” you screamed, yanking her up by the hair and throwing her down into one of the corners of the ring.
Your boot met her midsection repeatedly until the ref pulled you back, giving her a moment to catch her breath while you and the official exchanged some words in the meantime.
The Shield boys kept to themselves, spread out on all three sides of the ring, keeping an eye on the entire match and most importantly, you.
To be quite honest, it was hard for Dean to hold back on his excitement, his tongue practically bruised from biting down on it, trying not to break out of character and into smiles or cheers when you got the upper hand in the match.
They were anxiously waiting for their cue; you picking AJ back up and throwing her towards the center of the ring, ready to go for your finisher. That’s when they got into positions, teetering up on the apron grabbing onto the ropes as if they were stalking their way in.
“What the hell is The Shield doing, Cole?” Jerry questioned, his voice filled with concern.
“I have no clue, but it can’t be good. We have to assume, ladies and gentleman, that Stephanie McMahon put them up to this,” Cole proposed.
You took notice of the men involving themselves in the biggest match of your life, brows pulled together in anger and frustration.
“Hey! What the hell is wrong with you guys?” You shouted, turning your attention to the boys who were now standing on the apron, sights set on you.
You walked towards Dean, and the ref headed towards Roman and Seth signaling for them to get down.
“Leave me the hell alone” You seethed, coming face to face with Dean. The only thing separating the both of you were the ring ropes.
“I know you like it.” He gloated, arms held wide, earning boos from the crowd.
You shook your head, turning away slightly only for the palm of your hand to meet his cheek with a harsh slap a few seconds later.
The crowd erupted in cheers as Dean pinched his eyes shut, shaking off the sting in his skin, putting on a cocky sneer that quickly had you angered again. You kept an eye on the titantron in front of you, aware that AJ would be coming in any second to catch you off guard, which was all a part of the finish.
Seth and Roman hopped back down onto the floor, while Dean took notice of AJ sprinting behind you. His arms shoving you out harm’s way in order to take the hit. Her legs knocking him to the floor, while she fell to the mat, unaware that you had backed into one of the corners, shocked at Dean’s sacrifice, but none the less not wasting time.
You quickly got to your feet, delivering a super-kick to her jaw before lifting her body into position for your finisher and hitting it in the center of the ring. You hurried into the pin, locking her legs and arm as the ref counted.
“1, 2, 3…ring the bell!”
Surprise and shock covered your features, your hands covering your face as you tried to hold back tears for backstage while the ref walked over to retrieve your title. AJ rolled out of the ring, giving you your moment to savor as the championship was placed in your arms and your theme song blasted through the sold-out arena.
You forced yourself off your knees, thrusting the championship high up in the air, gaining cheers and applauses from the audience who were on their feet. You swore you could jump into your boyfriend’s arms right then and there without a care in the world about scripts and keeping up the act—but you knew it’d all be worth it.
Seth, Roman, and Dean hopped back onto the apron, this time not faltering on letting themselves through the ropes, stalking their way towards you as your theme song suddenly got cut and the ref scrambled out towards safety.
“Uh oh, is The Shield going to spoil the best night of her WWE career?” Cole speculated.
“I hope not. The last thing we need is the new WWE women’s champ being put out of action all because of these three men.” Jerry added.
You swallowed thickly, clutching the championship to your chest, looking left and right for a way out that was impossible at this point. There was nowhere left for you to go, the crowd anxiously awaiting to see what was going to happen next.
Dean’s fingertips hovered over your face, clutching your skin delicately and forcing you to meet his orbs. You looked stunned, about to break in terror until suddenly a wide smile emerged across your features.
“Oh, my god! What the hell is going on?” The commentators cried out disturbingly.
Seth and Roman stepped back with laugher rumbling in their chests, clapping and pointing at the both of you as if they had known the real story all along.
Meanwhile, Dean closed the space between your lips, pulling you into a fervent kiss taking everyone aback. Your lips moved together in tandem, like they always did behind the scenes where no one had a clue you were flying right under their noses.
You both pulled away, smiling widely at each other, before he gestured towards you, reaching to grab your wrists and lifting it high up in the air, your theme song hitting once more, this time the crowd torn between cheers and boos.
Dean held you close, his pride evident in his eyes letting everything around him turning into white noise.
“My girl. My champ.” he whispered, speaking to you like you were the only ones in the world in that very moment.
You looked up at him, closing your eyes in bliss, before mouthing the words.
“We got away with it.”

Bucky’s POV:
Why’d I think she’d be able to handle an adult conversation as soon as I started getting serious? When will I fucking learn?
I waited until Y/N shut her door before I went back out to the living room. She drove me insane, but I decided to keep up the habit of staying up late for her.
During one of her drunken nights at one of Tony’s galas, she had revealed that she preferred sleeping when someone else was awake. In exposing her reason why, it made me sympathize with her trauma.
“It’s like having a night watch. If someone else is aware, I can put my guard down. Not that that even happens often enough, but oh well,” Y/N drunkenly swayed the side of her silk dress from left to right as she watched the people on the dancefloor.
I knew the feeling of never being able to fully settle into sleep or relaxation because you’d seen all the horrors in the world. We knew what lurked out there and the consequences of someone getting the jump on you.
So, from the first night here, I would stay up in the living room until midnight, sometimes later. Like clockwork, soon after 11 pm, she’d startle awake from a nightmare. I could hear her breathing and heart rate thanks to my enhancements, and I may or may not have channeled them into her room, given the nightmares she’d had in the past.
So far, there were none so bad to the point I had to go in and check on her, but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t tuned in to her room and checking every night in case the tides turned.
Even on the nights she frustrated me like tonight and made me reconsider why I was about to talk to her about… this. This chemistry that was starting to feel closer to real than fake. A feeling I can’t seem to shake, and now I’m wondering if I’m imagining it. Especially when she can’t seem to turn off her annoyance for me even when I think we finally have met in the middle to some extent.
Then again, I lead on that I don’t understand her when it’s quite the opposite. Her story is not far from most of the people who are recruited into our team. A form of a hostage situation where her choices were taken, and she was conditioned to serve some sadistic asshole until she was freed by her own doing. At least her own variation of that… Anyone coming from that kind of situation tends to bond easily over the trauma.
Not Y/N though…
I never start by being rude to someone. I mean, I’ve been told I’m intimidating and can come off as a terrifying giant assassin, but people in the same field who have seen far worse don’t tend to take that personally, considering almost everyone I work with knows my backstory and the reason behind my resting-assassin-face.
But Y/N, for some reason, was very standoffish with me from the get-go. For the first few months of us knowing each other, she ignored me, left the room when I came in, found an excuse for another partner on missions, and a list of other things that quickly made me believe she wanted nothing to do with me.
I may have reciprocated her behavior here and there, growing her annoyance with me even though I didn’t know where the annoyance had begun. I couldn’t help it, given the nasty looks and pure irritation that steamed off her when she looked my way.
I think the sentiment behind her feelings towards me still stands. But then her comment tonight, “I don’t hate you,” got to me.
I threw the laptop I had tried to use to distract myself again to the side. The TV was on, but all I heard was the patterned thumping in my chest starting to grow.
“No. I want to know fucking why,” I grumbled, standing up abruptly and stomping down the hall to the master bedroom.
The door was shut, and from how she looked, she may have already tucked into bed for the night, but oh well. We were going to talk this out. I couldn’t go another day trying to decipher these feelings and confusions.
I heard a “Jesus!” from the other side after my metal arm rapped three strong knocks in the center of the light sage-colored door. I banged again when I didn’t hear movement to follow up with it.
“Calm down, Paul Bunyan! No need to chop the damn door down. I was seconds from sleep,” she groaned before the door flung open, and she squinted up at me with the hall light bringing brightness to her near pitch-dark room. “What? What is it?” Before I could start my sentence, she tensed and looked around me vigilantly. “Shit. Did something happen?”
I shook my head quickly and instantly saw her shoulders go back and the grogginess return.
“I want to talk.”
She screwed her eyebrows up at me. “Dude. Seriously?”
“Seriously, dude,” I replied sarcastically, pushing past her into her room, turning on the light, and hearing a protest I was too annoyed to listen to.
“It can’t wait until fucking morning when my brain isn’t at 2%?” she crossed her arms, watching me from the doorway.
“Be real. Your brain doesn’t go below 75% even when you’re sleeping,” I answered, knowing the reality of never being able to shut off fully. Being constantly aware and on the edge of your seat, ready to pounce.
She eyed me since it wasn’t a diss, and I could see her debating whether or not it was a compliment.
“What do you-”
“You say you don’t hate me, but it sure as fuck doesn’t feel like it. From day one, it has felt the very opposite of that,” I cut her off with a harsh laugh at the end, getting right to the chase.
I’m standing at the end of her bed, arms crossed, and keeping an intense stare on her. Her stance straightens, and she shuffles her weight on her feet, arms mimicking mine.
“I thought you didn’t want to talk about it,” she said in a guarded tone. “What changed?”
“I can’t go on with this if I don’t know,” I answered honestly, motioning between us.
“I argue you have to go on with this either way,” she popped a hip, leaning against the threshold of the door frame.
“Y/N,” I level my eyes at her, and I can see her take in the seriousness in my features. “Just tell me why.”
She looks at me with a tilt of her head as if considering her options in how she wants to approach this conversation.
“We just don’t- mesh well…” she says slowly as if trying to sell it, but even she knew she was lying out of her ass.
“Bullshit. Try again,” I shook my head once and kept my eyes trained on her.
“Bullshit? You wanted to know-”
“I wanted to know the truth. You’re selling bullshit, and not very well, might I add. Be honest. Now.”
She huffed a laugh before blinking at me.
“We’re the same ranking if you’ve forgotten. Therefore, I won’t be taking commands from you, especially with that tone. But since you’re so hellbent on knowing my reasoning, maybe consider how you talk to me.” She took three slow steps closer to me as she spoke. “So ask me again without being a military servant, and maybe I’ll consider staying civil with you.”
She is one of a very select few kinds of people actually able to intimidate me. Her story was one to compete against mine. Though not many knew all the details since she was adamant about people being in the dark about it, we all knew what she was capable of. Her enhancements, although similar to mine, were not nearly as strong in most aspects. However, that didn’t deter her from being able to take a man quadruple my size down and keep them there.
I knew enough about her brain to know that it was one of the sharpest ones I had come across in my time. Everyone on the team had enough experience in this life to be able to manipulate a lot of situations, but Y/N was the queen of manipulating a situation to work out better for her and her team. It was like she was five steps ahead constantly, and it could be intimidating at times- not going to lie. A strategy someone in our field would think they had down until they saw her ridiculous efficiency at work. Hence, why she was her own kind of weapon for our team.
I give a single nod in acknowledgment, knowing my intensity would be matched and not work in my favor.
“You say you don’t hate me, and after these few weeks, I’m starting to believe you somewhat. However, our history keeps me from following that hope,” I answer.
She seems to take something from my confession and lock it in her mind for later use.
“Our history is complicated,” she replies, looking me up and down subtly and then moving to the side of the bed where the sheets were disturbed.
I now notice the detail that only one side of the bed was disrupted while the other stayed perfectly made. My own detail to lock away for later.
“But why? Who said it had to start like that?” My hands go up. She gives me a look like I should know the answer to that and I raise my eyebrows. “You think I’m to blame for our bickering and aimless fights?”
She scoffs, “I wouldn’t say aimless. There are definitely targets to be hit.”
“Cut the shit.”
“No shit to cut,” she counters quickly, sitting on the edge of the bed with one leg under her and shrugging.
“I’m trying to have an adult conversation, and you’re acting like an angsty teenager.” I deadpan, attempting to keep the twitch in my eye at bay.
“And you’re acting like a crotchety old man who demands my respect,” she shouts back. “Ever think maybe that could be the reasoning behind our never-ending feuds?”
“How could I? You don’t talk to me unless you're dissing me, fighting me, or attempting to make me look bad,” I give a large fake smile.
“Take a fucking hint then, Grandpa,” she enunciates her curse.
So I do. I backtrack our conversation and come to a conclusion. Maybe it's not an accurate one, but it's an idea nonetheless.
“You think I demand respect from you? When have I ever told you that you have to have respect for me?” I asked, more confused than angry now- but definitely not low in anger either.
She stares at me, contemplating her answer.
“Maybe we shouldn’t get into this,” she waves between us minutely, diverting her eyes to the bathroom door on the wall to the left.
“I won’t be able to sleep tonight if-”
“Not much different than most nights. Welcome to the crew,” she huffed, shifting to adjust her blankets over her in an irritated mood.
“Why are you so against talking this out?” I growl, forgetting all sense of mental clarity and stomping to her side of the bed, aggressively throwing her blankets off her. “Stop trying to go to bed and talk to me like an adult.”
“An adult?” She takes in a high-pitched breath and stands straight in front of me. “You’re the one who just threw my blankets off like a toddler throwing a tantrum because he didn’t get a cookie after dinner! Sorry to break it to you.” Her finger jabbed into my chest. “But I owe you nothing, Barnes! I owe no explanation. I owe no respect. I owe no reason for how I choose to act around you.”
I was pissed. Royally pissed, and yet I couldn’t seem to see past the pure sadness in her eyes. The actual pain that she tried so hard to hide, but in her state- the state I had put her in- she was losing the battle. She was losing it and yet not breaking her eyes from mine, knowing I could see it.
My intensity shriveled slowly as seconds passed, and she didn’t try to fight the tremble on her lip.
“What did I do?” I asked softly, my hands instinctively coming to her arms, but the touch made her break the eye contact and turn fast, making my hands drop. “Y/N, what did I do?”
And I meant it. What had I done, and how could I change it?

Tumblr media
The fucking photo is everywhere.
Eddie knows he should stop checking, should probably delete all his social media accounts and drop his phone in the ocean, maybe throw himself right after. Maybe he would, if that would change anything. He groans, slamming the phone down on the table and burying his face in his hands.
They've been so careful, and for what?
One second of weakness, one stolen moment by the backstage entrance of Eddie’s last gig, and everything is falling to pieces. He should’ve known better. You're never really alone, no matter how safe you deem yourself. Steve even less than Eddie.
“I mean, not to be a smartass,” Chrissy’s voice pulls him from his thoughts. She's seated on the opposite side of his kitchen table, laptop in front of her. “But you do realize you could've just waited until you got to your hotel room?”
Eddie stops pulling at his own hair to give her a tired look.
“I missed him, okay? Between my Europe tour and his stupid state visit to Asia, it was the first time in months that we saw each other. It was literally just one kiss.”
Chrissy gives him a look.
“Eddie, I love you,” she says flatly. “But it looks like you're trying to suck out his tonsils with your tongue.”
Eddie’s forehead joins the phone on the table.
“I know,” he groans. “Fuck. What do we do now, Chris?”
She doesn’t answer right away, and that scares him more than anything. Chrissy always knows what to do.
“Maybe it won't be as bad,” she says, but she doesn’t sound convinced. “I mean the picture is quite grainy. You're pretty recognizable with your stage outfit and the tattoos, but Steve? He could be just some guy, really.”
“Yeah, no,” Eddie huffs, picking up his phone again. His private messages are blowing up, but he doesn’t find it in himself to open them. “Have you met those royal fangirls? Batshit crazy, man. They have the shape of his moles memorized and all.”
“You have the shape of his moles memorized,” Chrissy provides.
Eddie glowers at her, and her face goes soft.
“Hey,” she says, shutting her laptop and taking his hand. “We'll figure it out, I promise. I know it looks bad now, but-”
She's interrupted by the sound of the doorbell.
“That'll be the pizza,” she smiles. “I'll get it, you stay seated. Let's talk about this after dinner, I'm sure things will look a lot less dire on a full stomach.”
Eddie has half a mind to ask her how pizza is supposed to fix a single one of their problems. But he knows she's only trying to help, so he doesn’t say anything and shoots her a tight smile as she flounces out.
The door opens.
“Oh, hi,” Chrissy says, and Eddie knows from the way her voice goes strained that it's not the pizza. “Eddie didn't mention you were- hey, wait, you can't just-”
Eddie is already out of his chair and halfway around the table when Hopper comes stomping into the kitchen. He looks intimidating as ever in his shades and dark suit with the royal sigil pinned to the lapel. Today, he's also looking particularly pissed.
“You!” he barks as soon as he spots Eddie. “You're coming with me. Move.”
Behind him, Chrissy hovers in the doorway, wide-eyed and pale.
“I can't,” Eddie says lamely. “I have pizza on the way.”
Hopper looks at him like he's silently regretting all career choices that have led him to this moment.
“What you have,” he says,” is an appointment at the palace. Now c’mon, or you're paying for my parking ticket.”
*
Eddie hasn't been to the palace more than a few times, and as on all of his previous visits, the paintings and the chandeliers and the gold and brocade of it all make him feel uncomfortable and on edge. So what if he's been secretly dating the crown prince right under the nose of the public for months? He's still allowed to think that the exaggerated splendor surrounding everything royal is a remnant of a long dead feudal system and a waste of tax money with no place in the modern world. It's called nuance, thank you very much.
Hopper nudges him into a lavish salon or drawing room or whatever the fuck they're called - one with a crackling fire and plush armchairs and a small fortune in antiques lining the walls - and wordlessly pulls the door shut behind him. In one of the chairs, gazing at his phone, side profile lit by the golden firelight, is Steve.
“Remember all those times Munson said fuck the monarchy?” he says without looking up. It takes Eddie a very confused second to realize he's reading from the comments under the damned photo. “Never realized he meant that literally. Charming. They even got creative with the emoji, look.”
He flips the phone around. Eddie sinks into the armchair across from him and winces. “I know, I know. So, on a scale from one to ten, how bad is it?”
“Hm?” Steve says. He's in jeans and a cable-knit sweater, thin wire frame glasses perched on his nose. He looks utterly biteable. Except that's what got them into this mess in the first place. “Oh, very bad. Apparently, you've brainwashed me with some sort of satanic magic to overthrow the monarchy. Either that, or this is a slandering campaign against you, involving a carefully picked doppelganger and-”
“Steve,” Eddie groans.
Steve finally lowers the phone, putting it down on the small side table sitting between them and folding his hands in his lap.
“Eddie,” he says.
Eddie winces. He knows this tone, this aloof, barely interested drawl. Knows the way Steve holds himself - spine straight, shoulders slightly pulled back, chin up. Eyes so much dimmer than what he's used to. Distant and detached.
This isn't Steve. It's Prince Steven.
Eddie hoped he'd never have to see the fucker again.
There's a pile of documents lying on the stupid, fancy side table, right next to the phone. Eddie squints at them, catching the royal sigil at the top, the words non-disclosure agreement below, and his stomach fills with lead. When he manages to speak, his voice sounds hollow in his ears.
“So this is it, huh?”
Steve sighs. “Father would've loved to speak to you personally.”
The heavy, molten thing in Eddie’s guts twists.
“Would he now?” he grits out, trying to match Steve’s bored tone and knowing he's failing. Unlike some people, he hasn't been drilled into burying his feelings under a layer of ice all his life.
Steve nods.
“He had more important things to attend to, though” he says. “Instead, he told me to have you sign this.”
“Did he now?” Eddie says. It comes out hollow, words snagging in a too-dry throat.
Steve picks up the documents, leafing through the smooth, white pages. Even the fucking paper is fancy in this place.
“He's instructed our PR team to get me a watertight alibi for the night of the concert. Said we'd deny any acquaintance with you. Forbid you from ever so much as speaking my name in public. I told him to go fuck himself.”
“Did you no- … Wait, what?”
Eddie snaps his head up just in time to see how Steve tosses the papers into the fire. The rage on that pretty face is pure, unbridled and undisguised, and Eddie’s heart tugs painfully in his chest.
“I'm not gonna put a muzzle on you. You can damn well say whatever you want about me. I trust you, and that won't change. Not even if you don't want to continue this-”
“Woah, woah, wait,” Eddie blurts. “Hold on a sec. You think I'm breaking up with you?”
Steve blinks at him. “Um, yes? Are you not?”
Eddie can't stop the laugh that bubbles out of him. The weight that has been tearing at his insides ever since the damn photo dropped is gone. He feels like he needs to tether himself to something or he'll float off towards the ugly painted ceiling with the chubby, winged babies.
“No, you stupid dickhead,” he says, and finally, finally takes Steve's hand in his. “I thought you were breaking up with me.”
Steve gapes at him. “Why would I- … I'd never do that!”
“Well, good,” Eddie says. “Cause neither would I.”
Steve chews on his bottom lip, hope and doubt warring in those lovely eyes of his.
“I don't think you understand what's at stake here,” he mutters. “If we make this public, it'll be the greatest scandal this country has seen in decades. The press will be all over us, your fans will hate you, my family will tell you to give up your career, they'll-”
“Honey,” Eddie interrupts him, not bothering to hide the grin that's threatening to split his face in half. “If there's two things you should know about me by now, it's these. One, I'm terrible at taking instructions. And two, I don't give a rat's ass about what anyone thinks about me.”
Steve's eyes are large and round behind his glasses, but Eddie imagines the hope is winning over the doubt.
“I wanna be with you,” he says, squeezing Steve’s fingers a little tighter. “And to be frank, I think the system could do with a good shaking-up. Don't you agree?”
Steve snorts a reluctant laugh, and his entire face lights up with it. “You can say that again.”
Eddie thinks he's never seen anything as beautiful as Steve’s smile as he slowly lifts their entwined hands to his lips.
“If it's a scandal they want,” he murmurs, holding Steve's gaze and pressing a long, lingering kiss to his knuckles, “I say let's give them a scandal to remember.”

manic delusions & a gentle boyfriend
author's note: i, in a mania induced haze, created a playlist about how much i want to fight matt the other day, so inspired by my need to calm tf down, i offer you this. as always, not all mania looks the same or is the same.
contents: fluff but the angsty kind a little bit, matt murdock x reader, gender neutral reader, reader experiences mania, undisclosed mental illness, basically how matt helps with a manic episode
word count: 1.4k
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While Matt had never necessarily experienced mania himself, when you explained how it worked for you to him and how to tell you were about to have an episode. The signs were never the same, but the motivations were. You'd done the thousands of dollar shopping sprees, the impromptu trips around the country via your ratty old car, the detailed documents abotu elaborate plans you couldn't comprehend when the episode lasted. If fact, Matt had been present for most of them, not stopping you, because then the urge would continue, but helping you ride through them safely.
Today Matt caught you in the middle of a shopping spree on your laptop at hte dining room for craft supplies. They were on sale, what were you expected to do.
"Can we step away from that for a minute?" Matt was kind with his words knowing that any aggressive push would send you sprialing any further.
"In a minute. I'm busy." Your eyes were glued to the screen, scrolling endlessly through the site's inventory.
"I see that. I'm just worried about you." He sighed, sitting at the opposite side of the table.
"I'm not manic—"
"I trust you. I just want you to take a break from the screens for an hour or so, your eyes need the break." He was gentle still, sure to not cross any emotional or physical boundaries.
"Yah I think you're right. I think I might go on a run along the Hudson river." You sprang to your feet, bouncy as ever.
"It's always great to move your body, but I think maybe we should sit down for a bit together. We haven't talked much today." He knew if you left the house you'd come back overexerted, damaging your joints in the process.
"Okay?" You said, walking to sit on the floor in the open space of the apartment.
"What's going through your head?" He joined you on the floor, still at a distance to allow you to breathe.
He had realized maybe a day ago that you were having an episode and unable to realize it, too deep in it to see the light. This confrontation, if you could call it that, could make it worse, or, hopefully, give you a chance to reflect on your behavior and practice some coping mechanisms to come back down to earth.
"You think I'm manic." You said blunty, like a knife in Matt's chest.
"I do." He rotated his hands in his lap, face pointed down towards the floor. "And, I'm worried about you."
"I'm not manic."
Matt knew this was going to be hard, but he was hopeful.
"Okay, I trust you. You can go back to what you're doing. I just wanted to check in." He started to stand before he was interrupted by your thoughts.
"Okay, well maybe I am. But I don't think it's a bad thing. I've gotten so much done. I've deep cleaned the whole apartment. I'm all caught up on work for the next two weeks. I'm gonna learn how to cross stitch." You took a deep breath and exhaled slowly trying to think through each of those sentences before Matt could. "Okay, so I'm manic. How do I fix it?" You pouted with the last sentence.
"Nothing to fix. Your brain is just having a time right now, and we're gonna work through it together." He smiled, scooting closer to intertwine a hand with yours. "How about we risk assess, hmm?"
"I think that's a good idea."
"Okay first one, cleaning. What do you think about that activity?" He was still, but open, hoping this dialogue would help until the brain chemicals subsided.
"Cleaning is helpful for the house, and for us, but I probably didn't pay as much attention as I would have liked during the tasks. I probably overworked my body in the process. I think this time it's a net positive as we haven't cleaned much since last season."
"That's a good analysis. How about the second one now." Matt said. He had read some of the books your therapist had recommended to you, and was very attentive when you explained how your brain worked, hoping the break down of tasks would help you realize the bigger picture.
"Getting my work done is good, but getting the next two weeks done is too much. I won't have anything to do for two weeks now. Net negative." You slouched into Matt's touch, leaning against his arm and resting there.
"Okay, and three?"
"I don't know how to cross stitch and I haven't watched or read any tutorials. I think I'm interested in it, but I should be thoughtful about buying materials in case I don't stick with it. Net neutral."
"Good job. Is there anything else you'd like to break down and think about with another brain here with you?" Matt was now rubbing your arm that was closest to him, trying to ground you with touch.
"Can I think and get back to you?"
"Of course you can. Thank you." He untangled himself from you and stood, helping you up in the process and leading you back to your computer. "Why don't you buy a small beginner kit and you can tell me all about it."
"Okay."
"And here's my card." Matt pulled his wallet from his back pocket and passed a card to you. He knew you were less inclined to spend him money than your own because of guilt.
"Thank you Matt."
"You're welcome baby. I'm gonna go sit on the couch and you join me when you're ready to give a lecture on cross stitch."
----
Later that night, after the lecture and a series of snacks Matt was willing to consider dinner, you both sat on the couch needing to get ready for bed.
"You're not tired, are you?" He said, turning to face you.
"No. Dumb brain chemicals." You pouted again, showing it with the tone of your voice.
"Why don't I help you draw a bath, and you can pick out a bath bomb or some bath salts and I can sit with you while you relax?"
"I'd like that."
"Then, let's go!" Matt jumped up from the couch with a smile, once again reaching out to lead you there.
Once inside, Matt passed you the bin with all the fancy bath and shower supplies for you to sort through.
"I'm thinking pomegranate bath bomb and some CBD bath soak. The one with glitter." You pulled them out and set them on the counter.
"Sounds good to me." Matt said.
He turned on the faucets, trying to find the perfect blend of hot and cold that would be comfortable but not too overwhelming. You were bad at telling temperatures when manic, often making soup of yourself in the bath.
You started to strip, walking around in circles to ease the excitement of a fancy bath. Your clothes in a pile on the floor, you warn Matt before he about trips over them.
"What color towel?"
"Red please!" You shout back.
"Alright." He sets the towel over the hooks next to the bath and strips himself of most of his clothes, helping you into the tub before sitting down next to it. He turns off the faucets and the silence dances around the room.
"Matt, can you play with my hair?"
"Of course I can. Do you just want me to talk and try to get you back on the ground?" His closer hand moved to your hair, brushing over it with a bit of pressure to remind you of his presence.
The bath was warm but not too hot. The temperature eventually caught up to you, beads of sweat forming on your forehead.
The bath bomb was almost done fizzing, bouncing between your legs dying the water a vibrant red.
"I wish you could see the color of this bath bomb, kinda looks like the DD suit." You splashed it for a second, enjoying the novelty of it.
"Story time?" He laughed.
"Story time!"
"Okay so yesterday at work, Foggy and Karen both decided to pull a prank on me," Matt went further into detail than he had to, attempting to help you picture it in your own head, "The coffee machine, you know the one on the counter in the office that almost never gets clean. Well, they took the coffee filter out of it, so when I went to make coffee, hot beans. poured out. Like coarse ground coffee beans, right into my favorite mug, the one you got me—"

After he cheats - Modern!Tommy Shelby x reader
Look at me bashing two out in two days 😉
Part 2 of Before he cheats!🫣
-----
Tommy sighed as Arthur's car pulled up out front of the garage, a place his cars spent way too much time on account of all the bullet holes and busted windows he managed to acquire on a weekly basis. He couldn't help but let his head fall back onto the headrest as his eyes landed on his beat up Land Rover sitting on the forecourt, after y/n's little show 2 days ago he'd had Johnny dogs pick it up and bring it over, he's almost forgotten about the thick jagged cut that now ran the length of the car, until now.
"Troubles with that Sabini again, lad?" Head mechanic David laughed as Tommy stepped out into the open, his childhood friend always taking pleasure out of seeing Tommy's latest car disaster, and the payments that came with it of course.
"What is it they say?" Arthur called as he walked around the car to join the pair, smirking as his eyes caught the smash in the windscreen. "Hell have no fury like a woman scorned." He couldn't help but laugh, holding his side as he smacked Tommy in the shoulder making the younger brother huff.
"Very funny Arthur." He nodded, a small, almost unnoticeable smirk appearing on his face at the thought of just how pissed off you had looked that afternoon, but he'd fix it, you two always did.
"Damn, that girl of yours has got a temper aye." David whistled as he pulled open the passenger door and laid eyes on the messily carved name across the seat. "Remind me to never get on the wrong side of her." He mumbled as he slammed the door.
"Look can you fix it or not?" He put it bluntly, he had things to do if he was ever going to fix this situation, and he believed it would take a whole load of fixing.
"Who are you asking exactly? You know I can fix this baby back up, but it'll take a while, and it ain't gunna be cheap." David smiled, knowing that while he never overcharged the Shelby brothers, being technically in their employment, he always knew that with a Shelby fix came a big bonus.
"Just get it done." He nodded pointing at David. "Sooner the better David." He called as he walked back towards the car with Arthur in tow.
"Where to now Tom?" Arthur asked as they climbed into his car, having one last laugh at the state of Tommy's car.
"It's been 2 days Arthur, 2 days and still nothing." Tommy muttered, pulling his phone out and checking to no avail. So that's what it feels like, he thought to himself in regret, never meaning for any of this to go the way that it did.
"Take me to her Arthur."
-----
"Bollox!"
"He's lying to you!"
"Don't say I didn't fucking warn you!"
"See! What did I say? Dickheads, the lot of you!" I I huffed to the Netflix couple before slamming my laptop screen shut. "Even on TV the men are knobheads, honestly." I muttered to myself as I picked up the last tub of ice cream that was sitting besides my bed, the place I'd been for the last 2 days since I walked away from the Shelby family.
Flopping backwards into the bed I groaned as I dropped the empty tub onto the floor, my dreams of more ice cream demolished at the realisation. "Seriously y/n, laid in bed shouting at Netflix and crying over the ice cream being all gone, how stereotypical can you get." I huffing to myself as I pulled myself up to once again silence the vibrating of my phone. Over 99+ missed calls and messages, mainly from Tommy, Polly and Ada a few from Esme, John and Arthur, and that's not including the facebooks, instagrams and snapchats that I'd recieved over the last 48 hours.
A loud pounding on the door shook me to my core as my phone flew from my hand landing on the opposite side of the room, the vibrations continuing to slide it around on the wooden floor. "Shit, shit, shit." I whispered as I rested my hand on my chest, he wouldn't call the police would he? "Obviously he wouldn't idiot, local gangster, duh." I whispered once again, smacking myself on the forehead gently. "Gracie, oh I swear to god if I get arrested because of her I will kill her, and that is a promise - Oh fuck, I'm coming!" My Grace rant was interrupted by another loud set of banging on the front door.
Taking a deep breath I swung the door open prepared to be facing the boys in blue only to sigh in relief, kind of, to be met with a pair ice blue eyes and an old school cap.
"Fucking Jesus, honestly could you knock any more like a copper?" I breathed out, my heart racing from the panic. "This is why I need a ring doorbell." I sighed stepping back into the flat and leaving the door open for him to follow, knowing that if I closed the door I would probably have to buy a new one after he kicks it in.
"So you can see if it's the police?" Tommy asked as he closed the door behind himself, making himself comfortable at the kitchen table as I busied myself boiling the kettle.
"No, so I can see if it's you and then I'Il know not to answer." I muttered, flicking the kettle off. "I'm gunna need something stronger." Reaching for the whisky and glasses I filled 2 before sliding one across the table to him. "So what do you want?" I asked, leaning against the side on the opposite side of the kitchen, knowing distance is best in these situations.
"I think it's probably time I explained." He muttered, reaching into his pocket he pulled out his pack of cigarettes lighting one for himself before sliding them over to me.
"You don't say." I said sarcastically, taking two of his cigarettes and tucking one away behind my ear for later. "Go on then." I waved him on before lighting my own, revelling in the small smirk that took over his face.
"A few weeks ago now, some Irish inspector showed up at the shop spouting some bullshit about knowing about the races and all that shit." He nodded to himself, tilting his head back as he let out a breath of smoke, the vein popping in his neck as he did so. "Now, as much as we've had issues with the coppers in the past he knew too much, and he knew things that I haven't even put into place yet." I watched as he spoke, the vein in his forehead poking out slightly at the thought of good old Inspector Campbell and his dodgy leg.
"Right.." I trialled off as he stopped speaking, tapping the ash down the sink as an excuse to look away, not wanting to get caught up in his eyes like I had done so many times before. "And what's that got to do with you spending every free minute you have with Gracie?" I asked with a head tilt, purposely trying to make him feel a little bit stupid, like he had with me so often.
"Gracie? Really?" He asked with raised eyebrows and a smirk, he'd noticed it the other day, that you'd taken to calling her Gracie, with a slight nod of your head he carried on. "Well, she just happened to show up all of a week later, walked straight into the garrison and asked for a job which, with Arthur being Arthur, was handed to her the minute she fluttered her eyes at him." He recalled, thinking back to how pissed he had been at his brothers idiocy, not even a reference check before he'd handed the girl an apron.
"Is there a short version of this story?" I sighed, tired of standing here and listening to him speak, as much as I was holding on with a brave face I couldn't wait for him to leave so I could cry myself to sleep once again, after heading out to grab some more ice cream, of course.
"The short story is I spoke to Mae at the station and it turns out Grace had been sent from some specialist unit to get any info she could find on us. And when I found that out I decided to use her for my own gain, I told her false information, got her and her little team halfway up to Scotland as we speak." He shrugged, as though his actions were totally justified.
"So that's it?" I asked with furrowed brows, smushing out the remains of the cigarette in the sink before washing it down the drain. "You threw 10 years of friendship and over 2 years of us away for some silly little copper that got your knickers in a fucking twist?!" I yelled, picking up the closest thing which happened to be the now empty whisky glass besides me and throwing I at the wall just to the right of his head my eyes not leaving as his as the glass shattered.
"Uh, yes?" His confident demeanour gone as he looked at me in confusion, truly believeing that if he'd told you his side of the story, the real story then all would be well and you'd have his ring back on your finger in no time.
"Okay, that's fantastic Tom, really great, thanks for letting me know." I nodded. "Do make sure you close the door on your way out." I sighed as I walked past, pulling my wrist out of the way as I felt his touch.
"What the fucks going on? Nothing happened with the two of us, I promise you." He pleaded as he followed me into the bedroom, his eyes quickly scanning the boxes of tissues and the 3 empty ice cream tubs that littered the floor. "3 tubs in two days, aye." He couldn't help but comment.
"Yep." I muttered. Liar, the voice in my head spoke, that's just from this morning. "You've explained, now can you just, go, please." I whispered, my head starting to pound as I stood looking out of the window, the empty street of Watery Lane a poor distraction.
"Look Y/n, I know I fucked up, believe me I do, I never wanted to lie to you or keep you in the dark but, fuck, y/n you know the shit that I do, that I'm involved with, if anything ever happened to you I don't know what I'd do. The only way to keep you safe was to keep you in the dark, but it won't ever happen again." He stayed back as he spoke, knowing that if he tried to touch you at this precise moment in time the only thing he'd be walking away with would be a split lip and a lower sperm count from the boot he'd receive in the crotch.
"That's rest Tommy, really, is that supposed to make me feel better? Supposed to make me feel like any less of an idiot? Everyone saw the two of you together Tom! Just in the last two days I've had so many messages offering their sorry because they've heard we've split up and you're with fucking Gracie!" I screamed, spinning around just as the tears began to fall. "You've made a fucking fool out of me Thomas Shelby!" I screeched, flinging the desk lamp towards him. "Get the fuck out!" I whispered, counting to ten in my head. "Please just fucking go!" I cried, runnning my hands through my hair as I tried to steady my breathing.
"Alright, I'll go." He muttered, looking down at his feet. "I'll walk away and never come back, never even look in your direction again if that's what you want." He watched as you stood with your back to him, his own heart breaking at the sight of your small shoulders shaking with silent sobs, the image of your reflection of your hand over your own mouth burned into his mind. "I know that you might not want this back right now, or ever, from me anyway.." He said with a sigh, reaching into his pocket to pull out the diamond ring that you'd thrown at to the ground two days ago. "But it's yours, whether you're mine or not y/n this ring will always be yours, as well as my heart. I get that I've made you think the worse time and time again and I will never stop apologising or trying to make it up to you, no matter how long it'll take. And that's a promise. I love you y/f/n, please don't ever forget it." He finished, placing the small ring on the table besides the bedroom door before shoving his hands into his pockets and turning to leave.
He stood for a second with the front door open, with a view into your bedroom he turned one last time, willing with everything that he had that you'd turn and come running, tell him that you love him and can out this whole Grace shit behind you, but no, with one last sigh he stepped out onto the street and closed he door behind him.
Hearing the door slam I spun around, my eyes landing on the small ring, the light bouncing off of the biggest diamond sitting proudly in the centre. Sliding down the wall I let out a heart breaking cry, the sobs no longer silent as the tears slid down my cheeks one after the other, one hand squeezing my chest as though trying to hold my heart together while the other tried unsuccessfully to muffle the sobs of a broken heart.

The Resort - Rudy Pankow × fem!reader
Tumblr media
summary: y/n and Rudy haven't been together for a long while but he invited her to an OBX event
word count: 2.7k
warnings: semi-secret relationship at first, light miscommunication, meeting the parents, smut, p in v (protected), fluff
author's note: idk okay. I just wrote this and it's not edited bc it's 2am and I'm not gonna turn my laptop on now to actually edit this. but I hope there's something here for you to enjoy. it's also my first time writing rpf so please be brutal (/gen) with your reviews. this is also loosely based on the dream I had last night.
Tumblr media
The heat hit your face like a punch to the gut as you stepped out of the screening room. Quickly you made your way over the palm tree lined path past the main building of the resort and towards the small cottage where Rudy and JD were staying. The key card Rudy had given you worked to much of your surprise without any issues, and when you stepped inside you could enjoy the cool air again.
You let your bag fall down next to the door and padded towards the noise the two men were making. Playing video games was their way of coming down from the long flight you had had.
“Hi,” you spoke up and sat down on the bed behind them. Jonathan turned his head for a second to smile but Rudy ignored your existence completely, which did annoy you a little, but you brushed it off as he was focused on the game.
“The screening was good, you guys did a good job with this season,” you said while letting your hand run over the soft fabric of the throw blanket.
“Yeah, was hard work,” JD replied quickly, but your eyes were trained on the back of Rudy's head, hair disheveled as always as he ignored your existence.
“Do you wanna do something later?” you asked sweetly and he paused the game to turn around and look at you.
“I'm trying to win a game here. Just go to the pool or something,” he told you rather harshly before getting back to his game, not even minding that JD was giving him a confused look. And your heart felt heavy at the rejection, but you left anyway, knowing when to not cross a line with him.
You decided to explore the resort by yourself. It wasn't how you had pictured this trip when he had invited you. You had thought he would spend every free minute with you, doing anything a new couple would do. But you should've guessed as much when he had booked your ticket for you to be seated on the opposite side of the aisle from you.
You couldn't be mad, even if you wanted to be, because the fact that you were there was more sign of his affection than anything you'd ever done. Especially considering that you still needed to keep your relationship secret.
So you spent your day walking along the beach, watching other guests play tennis and reading at the pool.
For dinner you had picked out a floor length dress with a waterfall back. You had bought it specifically for this trip. The purple satin sat perfectly on your body, accentuating every single curve and making you feel like you could actually belong into his world.
When you got to the restaurant most of the cast and their respective guests were already seated, including Rudy who looked at you for a moment, taking it all in before diverting his gaze back to Chase, who he'd been talking to. You'd be lying if you said it didn't hurt, but you couldn't let it show, so you took your seat far away from him and chatted with Madison instead. It was a nice dinner with lots of laughter and even more wine for you.
Before you could order dessert Rudy got up and pulled you away, towards your room, but he didn't step inside.
“Did I do something wrong?” you asked, your breath smelling of merlot.
“No, baby. It's just very stressful, and you know how the rules are,” he whispered while brushing a strand of hair from your face.
“Will you come inside?” you asked and he sighed, cupping your cheek in his large hand.
“You look very beautiful tonight,” he complimented you, not wanting to give you a straight answer.
“I’m so lonely without you.” You were basically begging him to give you any kind of affection, but he refused.
“You know we have the promo shoot tomorrow. I can't be late for that. I'm sorry, darling.” With a quick and gentle kiss to your lips he was gone, leaving you all alone once again.
You slept in, ordered a late brunch to your room and watched your favorite movie to fight the light hangover before you faced the sun. But once you did go outside you met up with Mariah and you talked for a while, she was accustomed to Madison's tight schedule around the release and filming rather quickly, but to you it was still difficult. Of course it was easier with your job being mostly remote with a handful of zoom meetings each month, but it was still something you needed to get used to.
That was your greatest fear when it came to dating Rudy, that people would call you a trophy girlfriend, someone who was only interested in his money. They had said the same thing about his ex, but he never really talked about her, so you couldn't be sure how much of it was true.
And still, you didn't want to spend this weekend working, not when it was such a beautiful place to be, even without your boyfriend being with you 24/7. He had to work and you were lucky to be there. That was just how it was.
You decided to skip dinner that night, just like you had breakfast and lunch, which didn't go unnoticed by Rudy who showed up at your door just as you were about to order in again.
“Why aren't you dressed?” he asked and you shrugged your shoulders and walked back into the room, wearing nothing but underwear and a bathrobe.
“I don't feel like sitting miles away from you, having to do small talk with people that think you'll replace me soon.”
“You know I wouldn't do that,” he argued, following you and pulling your back flush to his chest. “Will you please put something very pretty on and join me for this very boring dinner?”
“Will you sit next to me?” you whispered and he kissed your cheek.
“I'll make them change the seating chart.” He took his phone out and called the manager while you got ready, putting on light makeup and a short dark red dress.
“Stunning as always,” Rudy told you after you were done putting on your heels and you left for dinner.
Just like he had promised you were allowed to sit by his side, his hand on your thigh under the table half of the time, but his head as always turned to his friends to entertain them. That's just how he was and you loved him for it.
He didn't show too much affection when you were with others, maybe you should've picked up on that before but now it was glaringly obvious. It wasn't that he wanted to keep your love completely hidden, but by not showing it off too much he felt more secure in it. Especially because he didn't want you to experience all the bad sides that came with dating a popular actor like him. The fans could be rather viscous and he just wanted to protect you.
However, he still didn't want to stay over that night and you didn't understand why.
“There's this fan meet and greet tomorrow, and they want to do the full program,” he explained while leaning in your door and holding onto your fingers.
“Can I come? Watch you from the audience?” you smiled sweetly and he nodded.
“Maybe I'll even let you ask a question,” he flashed his brows a single time and you giggled.
“Mr. Pankow, I was wondering how such a handsome, smart and very delicious guy like you hasn't managed to lock down a pretty lady yet,” you pretended to hold a microphone out for him.
“Hmm, no comment,” he grinned and pulled you into a longing kiss. He tasted like whiskey and smelled like cedar. “Tomorrow night, I promise,” he whispered against your lips before stepping back into the hallway. “Sweet dreams, princess.”
“Goodnight, big shot,” you blew him another kiss, that he caught, before closing the door and getting ready for bed.
The next morning you found yourself chatting with a woman at the coffee machine at the breakfast buffet.
She was a true sweetheart of a lady, way better than your own mom but you didn't have the guts to tell her that, after all she was a stranger.
“My son works too much, that's why we decided to fly down here and meet him as a surprise,” she explained while waiting for her cappuccino.
“Oh, that's so sweet. What does he do?” you asked innocently.
“He's an actor, you probably don't know him though. I always say, one day he will get the big roles, but he says as long as he's doing something that he loves it's already perfect and I don't want to argue with that,” she laughed a little and took her coffee mug away to make space for your own.
“My boyfriend thinks similarly,” you nodded.
“What does he do?”
“I don't know if I'm allowed to say to be honest, with all those NDAs and stuff, who knows who's listening,” you smiled and she nodded.
“Yes, that's probably better. Are you alone? You could sit with us if you want to?” she offered and you didn't have the guts to turn her down.
The whole duration of the breakfast you talked about various things, including but not limited to your work and hobbies and all the things the woman and her husband told you about their life and especially all of their sons.
“I think if your boyfriend dumps you, I'll play matchmaker and see if my son wants you,” she laughed after you had mentioned the lack of affection you had experienced with Rudy over the past week leading up to the trip and now.
“Only if he's single too by then,” you point at her with a joking sincerity.
“Of course. Well, right now he's all in love, just like you,” she sighed happily. “Every time he calls me he doesn't want to stop talking about her, but have we gotten to meet her yet? No.”
“I'm sure he will get to it soon,” you assured her, but when your eyes fell to the clock on the wall you almost kicked the table over while jumping up.
“I'm so sorry, I have to go. I have a meeting in twenty minutes and I'm not even dressed for it yet. I'm so very sorry,” you apologized profusely but she let you go with a smile and a wish of good luck.
You got to the huge conference hall just in time for security to let you in with your VIP pass, but there were no more seats left so you decided to just stand on the sidelines.
You watched them all walk in, the interviewer announced everyone separately, and you couldn't help but holler a little as your boyfriend stepped onto the stage, his eyes snapping over to you and giving you a big smile.
He was charming and polite while trying to stay as professional as the interviewer and his friends let him. But the fans were more ruthless than that, asking rather specific questions about the plot of the show and you couldn't really follow them with most of it. But you loved to see him interact with them, the smiles he brought to their faces.
You didn't dare to step up and ask a question, not wanting to draw any attention to yourself, not more than he already was by staring at you half the time he looked into the audience.
“Are you in love?” a little girl, not older than ten asked him and Rudy chuckled.
“Maybe, but I don't think I should spill all my secrets today,” he replied and she nodded and gave him a salute that he reciprocated with a smile. Your heart was fluttering at his declaration. There wasn't really a plan on when you wanted to make it official, but you knew it would be his choice in the end and you'd support him either way.
“You had heart eyes all week, bro,” Chase clapped on his shoulder and Rudy let out a nervous chuckle.
“We'll see,” he replied swiftly and the interviewer took the cue to move on.
You waited until the fans had left the room before you made your way towards the back and into the hallway that led to the waiting room. Rudy whisked you away before you could step inside, pressing his body against yours in a deep kiss that robbed you of both breath and any sense of direction.
“What was that for?” you asked breathlessly, while holding into his chest and looking up at him.
“Because I was such a jerk two days ago, and because my parents are here and I kind of promised them they could meet you,” he tilted his head to the side as if to ask for permission and you nodded.
“I'd love to meet them.”
But what you hadn't expected was to look at the same two people you had shared your breakfast with. But they seemed just as surprised by it.
“What a lovely coincidence,” Rudy's mom took you in a hug.
“Fate or something,” you laughed softly and Rudy pulled you back into his side.
“You know each other?” he seemed more confused than you had ever seen him.
“We had breakfast together this morning,” you explained and he nodded.
“So I don't have to do all the introduction shit?” he grinned at you and you nodded.
Rudy's parents shared even more embarrassing stories with you know that they knew it was okay to do so, and although he tried to stop them at times, he really didn't seem to care. All that mattered to him was that the bunch of you got along, which was a success already.
“You know what I think is incredibly cute?” You looked up at him, his arm draped over your shoulders as he walked you to your room, so you could get ready for dinner that night.
Rudy smiled and you got lost in the blue of his eyes. “You gonna tell me soon or keep staring, beautiful?”
“The autographs and pictures. They are always so excited for it. And believe me I get it,” you sighed and opened the door to your room.
“Yeah? Where do you want it to go?” he teased, letting the door fall into the lock.
“What to go?” you ask while bending down to open the straps of your shoes.
“Where do you want me to sign my name, baby,” he growled and pressed himself against your ass.
“Everywhere,” you sighed while leaning up and against his chest.
That's how you found yourself in bed, riding him and playing with your tits.
“Oh, fuck!” You moaned and he smirked.
“We should name them,” Rudy rasped, sitting up to press himself fully against you. “Should give them some pretty names, like, perfect one and perfect two or something.”
You gave him a mischievous grin as the idea jumped your mind. “Jessie and James,” you giggled and he forced your hips to a stop, planting his feet in the mattress to be able to fuck you from below.
“You're so fucking crazy, baby. You know that?” he groaned, repeatedly hitting your g-spot with his thick and long cock.
“You should fuck me raw then,” you teased but he laughed, his thrusts growing sloppier the closer both of you got to your release.
“Soon, darling,” he sighed and quickly flipped you onto your back to fuck you harder and faster to your orgasm. And the way his cock massaged your insides made your eyes roll back with pleasure. Clamping down hard around him it only took a few more thrusts for him to finish too.
“Now I can make it official,” Rudy laughed through his heavy pants while lying by your side.
“What changed?” you asked, looking over at his sweaty body.
“I did,” he whispered and kissed you again before getting up and leaving for the bathroom. You didn't quite understand what he meant by it, but you took the compliment as what it was. Rudy was ready to show you off and you wouldn't have anything against it.

Smack.
Smack.
Smack.
With every newspaper that loudly hit, it was met with another jump from you, despite the fact that you knew they were coming. It had been a long morning, waking up early to catch the tube into the office, so you weren’t prepared for the loud noises this soon into the day, although you now knew more were to come. You stared at the headlines, reading each of them over and over again, as if you were trying to memorise them.
Tartt Seizes Mystery Girl’s Heart
Tartt Kiss: What We Know About The Footballer’s New Woman
Victory Celebration, Sealed With A Kiss
It was clear that the only reason the room was still silent was because a response from you was expected. You really didn’t know what there was to say. Scanning the words, you smacked your lips together before speaking.
“They’re not particularly clever.”
Your boss was whatever the exact opposite of enthused was, evident by his severe stare and the fact that he hadn’t sat down for a single second since you had entered his office.
“This funny to you?” He demanded, rotating his laptop to display an article that had your name and picture featured. An article you had already seen and gone through the 5 stages of grief over. “It’s funny that they know exactly who you are and why you were there?” You shrugged, a fire burning in your chest.
“They wouldn’t have known why I was there if you hadn’t posted the announcement of the profile without checking with me first.”
His round face was turning a bright purple, but you remained nonchalant. These meetings were so much easier for you to swallow when he made it so easy to argue. At the very least, it gave you the entertainment of seeing him so mad. This time, however, it felt different. You could feel it, and you know he did too. Leaning into his palms, which were pressed against the top of his desk, he towered over the newspapers. Despite the fact that there was still a decent amount of space between you and him, you still instinctively leaned away from him.
“What the fuck were you thinking?”
You didn’t look at him.
“I’m thinking that it was a football match, and excitement was high, and I’ve been spending a lot of time with Jamie Tartt, and maybe he wasn’t thinking very clearly.” It wasn’t entirely a lie. Although it definitely wasn’t entirely the truth, either. He began to nod as he grabbed his phone and began to type. A few seconds passed before he was sliding it across the desk to you.
“And what about that?”
Looking down, you saw the picture from Jamie’s instagram of you walking in his jersey, something you had totally forgotten about. A hot flash shot through you.
“I just borrowed some clothes. I walked to the stadium and it started raini-“ You stopped when your boss viciously waved you off.
“Don’t fucking disrespect me right now,” He said angrily, snatching his phone back. “Spotted wearing his clothes. Pictured exiting his car with him at the Charity Gala. What the fuck is the matter with you?” Your fingers were in your lap, pulling at each other. Even though you were telling the truth, there was no sense in continuing to defend yourself. His mind had been made up.
Within the hour of the match ending, you had received an email from your boss, telling you to come in for a meeting first thing in the morning. You took the tube in, which gave you plenty of time to settle your nerves. As much as you could, anyway.
Your boss began to yell about professionalism, and how you lacked it, while you thought of Jamie. No real conversation had occurred after The Kiss, as he got swept away by the team, and you found yourself being crowded by paparazzi and journalists as you tried to follow. It took two hours to go home, needing to take several detours to fend off the extra persistent ones. After that, you avoided your phone like the plague. It was blowing up with texts and calls from friends and relatives, asking if the pictures they were seeing were of you. Maybe there had been a text or two from Jamie as well, somewhere lost in the mix, but the fear of looking at your phone kept you from them. Instead, you had spent the night at home in solace, and worked on the article.
Your boss went silent for a while, pulling you from your thoughts. His fingers were white against the back of his chair, making you wonder when he moved there from the desk. Finally, he shook his head.
“I’m pulling you from the profile.”
Your spine straightened with the speed of a whip.
“You can’t do that,” You said in shock. He began to shake his head again, but you continued. “I did nothing wrong.”
“You did everything wrong,” He spat. “You couldn’t be fucking professional. Sleeping with the fucking person you’re writing on. Disgusting. I’ll email you when I decide who will take over, and you’ll send them your notes.” The urge to cry was creeping up your throat, but you swallowed it down.
“I won’t be sending anyone shit,” You told him in a firm voice. “I’ve been working on this for almost two weeks. Do you know how hard I worked to get Jamie to trust me? After everything I’ve said in the past?” At this, he laughed.
“Worked him real good, you did,” He said.
The comment felt like a strike to the face, and you leaned even further away from him. All you could see was red. You opened and closed your mouth a few times, his pleased smile only growing with each attempt to come up with something snarky or angry to say. A sort of acceptance washed over you as you knew what needed to be done.
“I fucking quit then.”
Now, the shock was on his face.
“You’re quitting over Jamie fucking Tartt?” He shouted as you rose from your seat. You contemplated this answer before looking at him again, your face blank.
“You’ve made me wish to quit over a lot less, if it makes you feel any better.”
The yelling immediately began to commence once more, but you were already closing the door behind you. It didn’t take long for you to empty out your desk, as you really didn’t bring a lot of personal items to work, and before you knew it, you were at the train station with a box of assorted belongings and a spot in the unemployment line.
The tube was mostly empty, just a few scattered people throughout the car. You took a spot in the back, setting the box in the space next to you while you sat against the window. As the train took off, you lost yourself in thought.
Where to go now? Over the years, you had yearned to move on from The Independent, much like Trent did, but had never bothered to try. Complacency and fear can really hold a person down. It was hard enough landing the job there, how hard would it be now to find a new one? Especially with the tainted reputation you now held? You absolutely couldn’t get any sort of reference from your old boss. Hell, he’d probably have you blacklisted from all major outlets before the day was out.
Looking at the empty seat that held your belongings, you were hit with deja vu.
You can lay on down if ya want. Grab a few winks.
His voice echoed through your mind, bouncing off the walls of the train car. Your head fell back against the seat. Your body ached at his absence. You missed him horribly, and were angry about the things you missed out on. That you didn’t spend the day laughing with him. That there were so many things left unsaid still. That you could still feel the ghost of his lips on your own.
You imagined him sitting next to you, and what he would say if he were there.
Fuck ‘em. You don’t need them. You’ll be alright, love.
Your heart lurched at the thought as you came back to reality, greeted by the sad, grey box that held your belongings. You closed your eyes. It wasn’t the same. It felt like nothing would be again.
But it had to be. Right?
Pulling out your phone, you went to call him to appease the yearning for his voice, but then froze. You didn’t want to call him. You wanted to see him.
You switched to another contact, typing and sending a message faster than your brain could process it. The response came quicker than expected, although you wouldn’t have been surprised if you hadn’t gotten one at all. A sigh fell from your lips as you stared out the window. Anxiety built in your belly, but you knew soon, it would all feel better. At least, you were hoping it would.
When you got off at your respective stop, you were determined as you rushed out. Your foot was on the first step to go up to the street when you paused. Turning, you ran to the first rubbish bin and threw the box on top. It didn’t quite fit, but you still left it. A few people gave you looks as you ran up the steps, some due to your strange behaviour, others because they recognized you from the pictures of you and Jamie in the press. You kept going.
You didn’t mean to run the whole way. But you did. Mostly due to the urgency you felt, but also partially because it was raining so hard that you felt like the streets would flood and carry you away. There was something cathartic about it. Maybe not to your heart, but to your mind. You slipped on the sidewalk a few blocks from the Underground station, almost falling straight into the cement had it not been for the lamppost next to you. It took a second to straighten up again, but once you were, you continued to run.
Within twenty minutes, you were walking down the residential street, rain continuing to pour. Your chest hurt from the running, as it wasn’t something you did with any sort of regularity. With every house you passed, you looked at the numbers on each one, searching for the one from the text. It was hard to see, with the rain and all, but you felt desperate enough, even going so far as to approach porches to properly read them.
It wasn’t the house number that alerted you to his house, however. It was his car, parked in the driveway. Your feet froze at the sight of it, remembering in vivid technicolor the rides you and him shared inside of it. The first one being under similar circumstances as you were in right now. The nerves were really building, as you stared the car and realised you were really at his house, and you wondered if you made a mistake. Wouldn’t it have made more sense to just return his calls? Instead of showing up, unannounced, in the pouring rain?
Am I stupid? You asked yourself. Am I actually insane?
But you still found yourself approaching the door, your feet moving as if they were being magnetically pulled forward. It was nice to finally be out of the rain. You thought of the box in the bin back at the tube station. Did someone else take the belongings for themselves? Or would it end up in the landfill? Not that it mattered now. It was filled with things you’d never need again.
You closed your eyes, thinking of the last two weeks. So much had happened. More than you ever would’ve predicted when you were given this assignment. And it all led to this moment, here, on Jamie’s porch, with you covered in rain water, heart full, and ready to share those feelings with him. After another brief moment to allow yourself to calm down, you lifted your hand and knocked one, two, three times on the door.
As the seconds passed, you felt your heart begin to race. Is he not home? Maybe he went out with the team? Or out to the shops? You knocked again, a little faster, more urgent this time. More time ticked by, and nothing happened. Tears sprang into your eyes. Was this a sign? You checked your phone, ignoring your growing inbox as you went to Jamie’s text thread. Nothing new. Stuffing the phone back in your pocket, you gave the door another sorrow filed look. Would another knock be enough?
No. Either he’s not home, or he doesn’t want to see you, you told yourself. It was that simple.
You all but ran back into the rain, your head down and your spirit crushed. The walk home wasn’t a far one, although you assumed that by how many times Jamie had walked over to your place. Over the sound of the drops hitting the sidewalk, you thought you heard the sound of footsteps, but that was confirmed when you heard someone yell your name from behind.
Jamie Tartt stood before you, already soaked from the storm. He looked a mixture of pleased and confused to see you. His hair was back in the usual headband, sporting a black hoodie and joggers.
“I was on the toilet,” He explained his delay, looking sheepish. You nodded, not caring for a single second what he had been doing. Just happy he was there now. Just you, him, the pouring rain and the bristling trees.
“They pulled me from the profile.”
His face fell immediately, and he took a step forward.
“Because of…?” He asked, trailing off. You nodded, causing him to pinch his chin between his fingers. “If I’d known, I wouldn’t have… I’m so sorry.” You shook your head at him, waving your hands in the same rhythm.
“Did you mean it?” You asked him. “The kiss. Did you mean to do it?”
He looked conflicted, like this was a test. Maybe he feared that you were asking in hopes that you could answer to get the article back. Or maybe he was worried that you regretted it terribly and wished that he did.
“Yes.” It was so firm, so definitive. “I don’t regret it at all. I’d do it again. And again. And again.” You smiled widely, convinced that you’d never stop smiling again.
“I quit.”
The curtain of rain didn’t hide the absolute shock that filled his face. You nodded.
“My boss implied that I slept with you to get you to trust me,” You explained. A beat passed and you tilted your head. “Actually, he just flat out said I slept with you to get you to trust me. So I quit. And I took all of my notes with me. So they’ll have to do everything over.” He ran a hand through his wet hair, shaking his head.
“I’m-” He stopped, his eyes squeezed shut as everything processed. “You…”
“I quit my fucking job for you,” You said, speaking loudly but slowly, so that nothing could be uncertain. You took a step forward. “I was miserable. I didn’t want to accept that, but I was.” You laughed, remembering how it felt to hate going into work. It felt like a lifetime ago, considering how happy you had been these last two weeks. “Then I got to interview you, and I remembered why I love writing and journalism in the first place. I quit my job so I can fucking kiss you whenever I fucking want to and not worry about what my boss has to say, or what people who have read my past articles about you have to say. Because I was wrong about you. I know that now.” You shrugged. “And maybe I’ll never get to write another article again, but I’ll get to kiss you, which I think is a good trade off.”
A long time passed where he just stared at you, wide eyes and chest breathing heavy. Finally, after letting you sit in agony for a second too long, he took three quick strides towards you, pressing his hands to your cheeks and his lips were against yours once again. Your eyes closed instantly as you faded into the kiss. It was different this time, with more passion behind it, but the adrenaline that filled you was the same. You put one hand on the back of his head, curling your fingers in his hair, your other hand balling the front of his shirt in your fist.
When he pulled away, he pressed his forehead against yours. The rain was freezing against your skin, yet you were warm.
“It’s funny,” He mumbled to you. “I learned how to behave meself in public, and now you’re out of a job. You were right.” You immediately pulled your head away from his, staring at him with a look of disbelief.
“Are you choosing this moment to make fun of my unemployment?” You demanded, as he laughed. “This exact moment? Right now, you felt it would be the time? After I just said all that nice, romantic stuff to you?”
He kissed you again, and you could feel him smiling against your lips, his body shaking in silent laughter. You wished this moment would last forever. Just kissing in the rain while smiling and laughing in between. No other problems but getting too cold.
You broke the kiss this time, him leaning after you as if he wasn’t ready for it to end. A slight pout was on his lips, but he recovered quickly.
“How’d you get me address?”
“Got it from the highest bidder,” You said jokingly. He furrowed his eyebrows together, and you laughed. “I asked Roy.” His laugh seemed to fill the entire neighbourhood.
“He’d give me address to all the homeless men in London if he could, so I ain’t surprised,” He admitted. You scrunched up your face.
“I don’t like being compared to the homeless men in London.”
“No,” He said in agreement. “You’re much better.” Reaching forward, he brushed a chunk of wet hair back into place, his fingertips brushing against your forehead. His expression was tender. You were still in shock that this was happening at all.
You gave his lips another peck.
“If money were no object, what would be one thing you’d do?” He shook his head at you continuing your game.
“I’d spend the rest of me life with you.”
You bit the inside of your cheek.
“You don’t need any money for that.”
His eyes were staring into yours, twinkling despite the lack of light.
“We’re gonna need money for a hospital visit if we don’t get inside,” He said, grabbing you by your damp sleeve and dragging you towards the door. It made sense. There wasn’t a single part of you that wasn’t wet, and Jamie looked about the same.
“Well, I don’t know if you knew, but I’m not gonna have money for anything coming up soon,” You told him. “So if I would have to just die at that point.”
“Don’t worry, love,” He said as he opened the door, gesturing for you to go inside. “I won’t let anything happen to ya. Not ever.”
He shut the door behind you, and for the first time, in what felt like a long time, you didn’t need that reassurance.
You had already known he would.

oooo can you elaborate on what you mean by there being meaning behind rhaenys not being at the dinner?
I am typing on my phone because I'm without my laptop for a few days but I REALLY wanted to answer this so sorry for any typos or messy thoughts or just general un-policed rambling.
I love it because it illustrates Rhaenys's place within the Targaryen family and what she means to those responsible for the dinner. The answer of which is... bugger all. Take Viserys's words. He's delighted that his whole family is there and wants them all to come for dinner. He looks around the table at the faces "dearest" to him.
But there is no seat for Rhaenys. Rhaenys is not one of the faces looking back. Rhaenys is not even mentioned. There's no clue to support the idea that Rhaenys has been invited and rejected the idea because of her feelings. It's just... she's not there. She is a Princess of House Targaryen and she is not present at a dinner to celebrate House Targaryen. And not only that, but the settled succession of HER HUSBAND'S seat and her home, and the betrothal of 4 of HER grandchildren. A dinner that is meant to symbolise peace and bygones and unity after strife. She's not a part of it. Either because she cannot, emotionally, be a part of it, or it does not matter. She does not matter. Not to the adults present. Not until they want something from her.
Everyone at that dinner had a calm before the storm. A happy memory. A grand delusion, just for a night. Rhaenys gets no such comfort. She gets the consequences of her good brother's body on a slab. And she LOOKS at it. They don't have to do that, even though they've brought it about.
It's the severance of the relationship she has with her paternal house. With her cousin. A cousin she LOVES, but who has orchestrated the destruction of everything she holds dear. He is the root cause. It's his brother who wants his love. It's his daughter who he enables. It's his war that her husband fights, and who might be dead. It's his will that sees over everything.
He has his meal of peace. He sees the children laughing and dancing. He eats and drinks and has his loves (however complex that is) by his side. He GETS VALIDATION, enough to shuffle off this mortal coil.
Rhaenys gets nothing of the sort. She is the flip side of him. Viserys and Rhaenys, to me, have always been in opposition. They don't want to be and they love each other very much but the gap has become wider and wider. Think about it, we've had Rhaenys and Viserys smiling and being so happy with one another in Episode 05 ("Cousin!!" / "Princess!") - to a relationship where they haven't seen one another in 6 years and there is no contact between them other than when he is King and she his subject. When she is forced to give up something and follow his rules to benefit him and keep her life. He gives her leave to speak... but not her own words.
Rhaenys is left alone. The only persons she has had in this have been Baela and Rhaena. And she has had to give them both up. Because of Rhaenyra. And because of Viserys. Baela especially. Baela, who stood with her in the Throne Room. Baela, whose hands she could hold. Baela, who has been her ward. She does not have Baela anymore. Her granddaughter is claimed by the Blacks, by the family. By a betrothal Rhaenys had to make to keep her safe. They take her away to Dragonstone as soon as.
Rhaenys's only other kin are Velaryons. But Vaemond lies dead on a slab. Her husband lies, dying, on Tarth. Her children are both (she believes) dead. She has no claim to her home. Her future looks terrifying. If Corlys dies... she will have to be reliant, mainly, on the hospitality of the woman who killed her son. Lucerys is not of age. Rhaenyra will be the true power. And how horrifying is that?
On a more basic level, her not being in the dinner illustrates the idea that she does not belong to a faction. She sides with Rhaenyra for the succession, but only that. Her voice in that instance does not equal her declaration for the Blacks. She is not a part of it all. Nothing has changed, in her heart. Which means that Alicent can make a bid later, which means her isolation is a real danger, which means she's still in the Capital.

JUICE + SHY GN!READER HEADCANON
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media
First ever headcanon, and this really pushed me out of my comfort zone! Juice is a character that I'm still learning and shy characters are always a little tough for me in these universes. Honestly would love anyone else to drop in any additional thoughts because this one really got me thinking through so many scenarios on how things would play out with these two :) Headcanon is under the cut!
FIRST MEETING:
Juice isn’t exactly the most outspoken or outgoing either, so the process from meeting you to dating you takes time. Slow burn for suuuuuure.
I think it’d start out with Juice being more shy than the reader for sure but your shyness is what draws him to you. You’re also not exactly jumping out of your seat to talk to him either, but to you, you’re just ignoring him while Juice is being shy to you.
You’re the opposite of his life right now. The club is rowdy and chaotic and you were calm and observant.
There’s tons of stolen glances whenever he gets the chance when you’re around. His eyes jump away in seconds the minute you catch him looking at you. Whether it’s peeking over his laptop, or fully staring at you when he catches you downtown.
Those glances would eventually turn to awkward smiles, the occasional wave or head nod.
When he gets the nerve to actually come and talk to you, there’s a lot of fumbling on his words until he realizes you’re just as nervous as him and it somehow makes him feel a little less nervous.
Just enough that in some fiddly way he manages to ask you out and you agree.
The first date is a lot of him asking you questions because you’re still very reserved. A lot of what are your favorite things; food, movies, places to go, where  do you work, do you like it. Just trying to learn more about you.
He goes off on a lot of tangents about tech, it’s what he knows and loves so it just comes easy to him. You take it all in, every word, picking up on the details in what he’s saying and what he’s not.
You definitely bring things up that he’s said earlier and it drives him mad. Someone who pays attention to the things he’s saying? That’s new.
Somewhere along the conversation you mentioned something about your car and he eagerly offered to fix it for you at TM which ultimately solidified your second date.
It’s obvious you’re a fish out of water at Teller-Morrow. Your voice is comparable to a mouse in comparison to all the guys, club and mechanics combined.
While trying to explain to Chucky and then Piney that one of the guys said they could help you out, Juice appears with the biggest grin on his face when he sees you and offers you an energetic “hey” and it completely melts you.
You sit next to him while he tinkers with your car, him mostly taking up a lot of the conversation but you’re chiming in here or there a little bit more than on the first date. Everything around you kind of fades away in those moments, you’re just enjoying the time passing with Juice.
When you get home that night, you break something else on your car, purposely, so you can bring it back the next day. Too nervous to just ask him to hang out on your own.
After he catches on, you’ve brought your car in 3 times in one week,  he decides to blurt it out. Do you wanna be my girlfriend? And he’s immediately mortified by the prepubescent way of asking you to be his but in your eyes it's perfect. It’s direct and leaves no room for misinterpretation. BEGINNING OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP:
Then, things are a bit different once your relationship is a bit more established. You both geek out together, and you feel a bit more comfortable coming out of your shell around him.
He definitely becomes protective over you, knowing how fragile he can be because of his sensitive side and how people are eager to take advantage of that, the thought that someone could be like that with you makes him want to follow you around like a guard dog.
He's constantly stare at you, lovingly + adoring but also curiously, just picking up on the things you do and why. But now, instead of looking away when you catch his eyes, he just smiles, maybe lightly touches your face, places a soft kiss on your lips, still smiling through each interaction.
But the real kicker is when he tells you he wants you to come hang out at the clubhouse and meet the guys.
Now, he’s not an idiot, he knows that they can be a lot and you aren’t a very extroverted person, but he reassures you a lot that they’ll love you and you’ll have a good time. He also lets you know he’d never let anything happen to you. And once the guys meet you, neither will they.
When you show up, you’re feeling exactly how you felt when you first met Juice. Flighty eyes, absorbing the environment, taking in everything.
The commotion of the group by the pool table and then the group by the bar was starting to make your stomach turn.
Juice spots you immediately and is by your side within seconds and never leaves it. One, because he wants to keep his word of being there and two, he feels so happy just to have you here with his family.
The guys tease Juice more than they tease you, and when anyone gets a little too pushy before you’re able to even feel uncomfortable Juice is handling it.
OVER TIME:
I think he’d be able to anticipate your needs and vice versa.
When he comes home from a rough day, you’re there to pick up the pieces and he lets you.
There’s toons of physical affection behind closed doors. Cuddling, all types of kisses, very sweet and passionate love.
In public and in front of the club, it’s not as prominent but there’s definitely arms wrapped around you, sitting in between his legs, casual pecks on the cheek and fingers intertwined.
He’d also trust your opinion on things because when you are at the clubhouse you’re not looking to fuck-around. You’re taking in everything and it gives you a really unique perspective on situations.
He’d take you on so many long rides and road trips because he knows the quiet of the rides are your favorite.
He’d leave breakfast for you when he had early mornings and you’d leave dinner for him on those late night runs.
Juice would use his skills to make your life easier, just like when you first met. Fixing your car, your computer, making sure you were upgrading all your software, getting you things that you didn’t even realized existed that just made every aspect of your life easier.
Ultimately, I think a shy partner is exactly what Juice needs, someone who understands him, and is patient with him. They both would be able to respect and love each other because they see each other. There's so much understanding because they get one another, their quirks, their preferences, their mannerisms.

🎃 Kenma Kozume - Exhibitionism
Tumblr media
Warnings: requested!, reader watches kenma get off, he's a more on the submissive side, ex-friend with benefits, wet dreams, fem reader, male masturbation, he's in love and has a cold lmao. Word Count: 2.8k
Tumblr media
"will you stay over at my place to watch Kenma while I go to the grocery store?" Kuroo questioned, waiting for a response from the voice on the other line of the call. "kuroo, I have a huge exam coming up. If I catch kenma's cold then I'm quite literally fucked." She sighed, tapping the end of her pen against her notebook as she skimmed through the array of notes plastered against her desk. Kuroo groaned, thinking of any last resort exchange that he and y/n could make a deal on.
"I'll pay for your lunches for the next week"
He heard how the shuffling from y/n's line of the call came to a stop and a smile etched onto his lips at his awaiting accomplishment. "two weeks." She finally said. Kuroo frowned before sighing. "fine. Two weeks. Please hurry" and with that, y/n mumbled a quick "okay, okay", gathering her belongings in her backpack to make her way over to kuroo's place. "I'll be there in ten".
"you're an angel sent fro-"
Before kuroo could finish his words, y/n tapped at the end call button with an eyeroll.
----------
"he's in my room; asleep. I'll be back soon, okay?" Kuroo said immediately as y/n walked into his home. He slid through the crack of the door before it could close behind y/n and she let out a sigh, walking towards the direction of kuroo's room. "kenmaaaa" she called out softly as she opened the door. She heard the boy let out a groan of annoyance, making her roll her eyes. It's been a while since she's been in the presence of kenma and kenma alone, so when she saw his relaxed yet flushed face, she was taken aback.
She shook her head in an attempt of ridding her thoughts and took a seat on the edge of the bed. Taking her laptop out from her backpack, y/n sat on the opposite end of the bed as she worked quietly on the once abandoned assignment. Quietly tapping away at the keys, she heard kenma let out a quiet sigh and before she could try to ignore it, another one followed behind. Halting her movements, y/n slowly lowered the top half of her laptop to look above the screen.
There she saw the face of discomfort on kenma's features as he slightly fidgeted in his sleep. y/n was about to chalk it up on the boy just being in a bit of pain from body aches or a sore throat but when a breathy moan fell from his lips, her eyes widened.
'no way' she thought, a palm going over her lips in slight shock. Putting her laptop aside, y/n leaned up towards kenma, placing a palm on his shoulder. She was going to gently wake him up…until another moan fell from his lips, this time her name flowing out along with it. Shaking the weakened frame of kenma a bit harshly, he quickly woke up with a groan of annoyance but his eyes widened when he saw the aggravated expression of y/n.
"wake up and quit dreaming about whatever the hell-" she cut herself off with a sigh, making a gesture with her hands to finish the rest of her sentence without the usage of her very annoyed voice. Kenma sat up correctly and there he finally acknowledged his newly found nuisance. he quickly pulled the covers over his lap and y/n lifted an eyebrow at his sudden action. "w-when did you get here?" He asked after clearing his throat.
"a few minutes ago so, if you're wondering; yeah. I heard you."
"look, I currently have a shit ton of drugs in my system so, my head's all loopy. Ignore what just happened, okay?" he defended, avoiding eye contact with y/n so he didn’t have to actually be met with the reality before his eyes. "yeah, that'd be easy," his shoulders relaxes when y/n's voice was calm but when she quickly tugged the comforter from his lap, his eyes widened and he pulled his knees to his chest in a matter of seconds.
"-if it weren't for the fact that you're sitting here with a hard on-"
"well, you didn’t let me finish my dream so what did you expect?" His eyes lowered as he pointed an accusing finger at y/n, making her jaw drop slightly from kenma's words of accusation. "so you moan my name in your sleep and you expect me to just leave you to your insane fantasies?"
"yes?" He slowly shrugged, rolling his eyes. "you're acting like my 'fantasies' are actually mythical things that'll never happen" he sighs, shuffling to stand up from his spot on the bed. He did so and y/n didn’t miss the fact that he stumbled before regaining his balance. "that's because it won't" y/n brought her laptop back to its previous spot on her thighs as she leaned her back against the wall. "okay, but it did." y/n stared at kenma's back with a glare at his words.
Even though they made her want to yank the blonde's hair from his head, they were true. Back in their second year of college, kenma and y/n did get together on multiple occasions with the 'no strings attached' rule of course, but after kenma began to slowly break that rule, they cut off ties and instead decided to stay friends. Kuroo was the glue between them and after hearing about their newly titled relationship with one another, he forced them to make up to avoid any sparks of tension.
It worked for the most part, but they still had some residue of vexation with one another and it was clear in every single conversation shared between them. "where are you going? kuroo said that you should be on bedrest." her eyes still focused on the screen of her laptop but they closed at kenma's next words. "are you gonna help me then?"
A sigh fell from her lips as she mumbled a hesitant. "nope."
----------
y/n had her earbuds in so she could ignore any specific outside noises, so when kenma entered the room, she didn’t notice until he took a seat on the edge of the bed. She glanced up at him and down at his lap to see that his prominent erection was still there. "kenma, what the hell?" She fussed, pulling out a singular earbud as she looked back up to his features. "I know you might say no, but can you help me?" He questioned. He sounded desperate and his voice showed no signs unseriousness at all. "you're gonna get me sick." It was more of an half assed excuse, but he didn't have to know that.
"you don’t have to touch me or anything," he started, shifting his body to face y/n, groaning and putting a hand over his lap when y/n's gaze was clearly focused elsewhere. A confused expression was on her face and kenma almost snorted at the fact. "remember when we talked about doing this one thing together…." He trailed off, trying to read y/n's expression to prepare himself for what kind of answer he would receive. y/n put two and two together, shaking her head as she stared at kenma.
"y/n, pleaseee, im practically begging you at this point"
"you want me to watch you and it'll help you get off?" She questioned with a tone of sarcasm. kenma nodded eagerly and when y/n flat out said "no". he threw his head back into the pillow, giving up on convincing her. "you're so mean." he mumbled, turning his body to lay on his side instead. y/n did feel a little bad now that she took everything into thought. he was woken up from his eventful sleep, tried to fix his problem but seemingly failed, and he was just denied of his last option (that wasn't really an option from the start). "I'm not mean kenma-"
"you are. first you cut ties with me cause i couldn't control my feelings for you, then you deny me of a favor that you dont even need to lift a finger for."
"why are you stuck on the past kenma? that was almost a year ago now." y/n sighed, her assignment long gone from her focus now. "you're not the past. i can never think of you as my past because the past is something that you have the ability to forget. i can't forget you no matter how much i try-" he stopped his words, realizing what they really consist of. was this a secondary confession? he never learns his lesson, does he?
"fine kenma, i'll w-watch you jerk off or whatever the hell it is." she huffed, sitting upright while kenma did the same with a smile on his face. "wow, so it takes a few words of my feelings to convince you? seems like you still have a soft spot for me." y/n rolled her eyes, reaching for the hem of his pants, making kenma hold her wrist to stop her movements. "nuh-uh. you cant touch." he swatted away her hand and y/n gave him a quick glare. "then what sense does this make?" she reached for her laptop, expecting kenma to whine about her going back on her word, but he didn't.
he kept quiet and while y/n was distracted by the screen, kenma slightly pulled his bottoms down, revealing his problem. evidence of his past attempts with trying to pleasure himself was shown against his skin in vermillion hues. when he made up his mind and wrapped himself within his fist, he let out a small sigh, eye's focused on y/n's hands as she tapped at the keys of her laptop. a whimper soon followed when her eyes slowly trailed from his thighs to his jerking hand in which engulfed his member. "kenma, what the hell?" she says, forcing herself to look away and kenma whined at the lost attention.
"hey, you said you'd watch." he pouted, leaning his head to the side to rest against his tilted shoulder. "well I go back on my word" she says, covering her eye's with a palm. She felt the warm touch of kenma's hand gently pry her own from her face and she was met with the poorly hidden smirk on his lips when her eye's shot down to his lap. Her eye's widened after seeing that he was actually getting off to this whole thing. The precum of his arousal began to make its way over his knuckles as he kept a steady pace. "you're enjoying this way too much" she frowned, looking up at kenma to catch his gaze.
"yup, that's kind of the p-point here." his voice faltered when he bit back a moan and y/n blinked a few times, eye's trailing back to kenma's pleasuring hand. The sight was strangely familiar and as she didn’t want to admit it, the way sounds of pleasure fell from his lips accompanied by the tremble of his hold; was probably one of the most amusing things she's seen in a while. She was strongly attracted to it but would never admit such a claim. He called her name through a moan, making y/n give him a glare while he only gave her a small grin.
"this feels so much better than s-staring at a fucking wall." he groaned, fist tightening just a bit as he sped up his movements. He watched staring at y/n's features as her eye's never left his lap not once. He eyed her hands, watching as her finger would twitch ever so often. Maybe he was finally getting to her. No- he was getting to her and by her held breath, kenma noticed how it was taking everything in y/n to keep her calm composure. He wanted to make her break, so he allowed himself to really indulge in the pleasure as his pre-cum made it all the more easier to slide his fist up and down his shaft.
"y/n-" he whimpered with a teasing tone. It didn’t go unnoticed at how attentive she was when her name was called. There was a glint of relief in her eyes like she was waiting for him to give her something to do, but kenma wanted to make her give in on her own. He tiled his head up, glancing at the ceiling before admiring every detail of y/n through his lashes. He was getting close to that euphoric feeling of relief and as the moans strummed from his throat and his thighs tensed in the firm grip of his fist, y/n could also tell. "kenma." She said, voice a bit softer now.
The sound of his name laced with the gentle tone of her voice was something that he longed for and it only drove him up the wall even more. He could taste the release on the tip of his tongue but his movement of pleasures were stopped when y/n firmly gripped his wrist. "y-y/n, what the hell are you doing? I said you can't touch me." he frowned, tears pricking his eyes as he whined his complaints.
"I know what you said, but go slower." she looked at him, slowly releasing her grip from his wrist. He blinked a few times as he nodded reluctantly. he slowed his pace, his once near high now gone from existence. "kuroo's gonna be h-home soon. He'll be upset if he knew we were doing this on his bed". He forced out, fingers just gently grasping his aching erection since he wanted to prolong this moment, especially since y/n was now giving him her full attention. "he wanted us to make up anyways so here we are; making up. I'll tell him it's the consequence and that’s only if he catches us".
"y/n-"
"go a little faster now" she interrupted. Kenma did just that and in the blink of an eye, he began to feel so much more pleasure than the first time his high was arriving. The ache was being put to ease and when y/n got a little closer to his body to get a better look, he felt himself twitch in his own hold. "please, let me cum, y/n" he frowned, pleading eye's glistening with the aftermath of frustrations. Her eye's widened at the raw words of kenma. She knew he wasn’t one to filter his words so she shouldn’t find it surprising. The surprise however, turned into pure desire and the need to toy with him just once more. "let go" she voiced, making kenma's eye's shoot her a look of confusion.
"what?"
"let go, kenma. No more" she finally said. He reluctantly removed his hand from his member as the precum continued the leak from his tip in such unbelievable amounts. He whined, chest heavying from pants while tears pricked his eyes with a burning sensation. "why do you do this to me?" He groaned, hand twitching against his abdomen. "I forgot how much I missed seeing you like this" she smiled, reaching a hand towards kenma's member. Using a singular finger, she swiped up a stray stream of precum from the length of him before circling the substance around the tip of his erection. He let out a whimper as his abdomen and thighs tensed.
"okay, enough teasing from me." She smiled, reaching for his hand to wrap his fingers around his own member. She released her grip from his now formed fist before urging for him to go on. "you'll let me cum this time?" He questioned, glaring at y/n lazily when she nodded with a quiet hum. "yeah, you deserve it".
And with that, kenma watched as he pumped himself into his own hand. Moans slipping past his swollen lips from his previous biting against the soft skin. He sped up his motions, fist clenching as tightly as ever while the sounds of his arousal seeped through his fingers. "I wanna cum, y/n." he pouted, strands of his hair plastering against the sheen coating on his forehead.
"I'm not stopping you, kenma"
A final drawn-out moan turned into a whine when he finally allowed himself to be taken over by the euphoric feeling of ecstasy. Kenma's body twitched with a shutter, his arousal flowing onto his abdomen as he desperately tried to slow his breathing to a normal pace. "by the way, I meant what I said earlier. All of it" he huffed, reaching for a nearby damp washcloth that was once displayed against his forehead.
"after you start feeling better, we can go somewhere alone and talk about it." she reassured, taking the fabric from kenma to do the cleaning herself. With a hum of relief, he nodded, a grin on his lips when she cleared her throat to interrupt the piercing silence.
----------
"y/n, how'd you get sick? I thought you stayed away from kenma." kuroo frowned, handing both she and the blonde two bowls of ice cream.
"I did stay away"
"No you did-"
y/n forced her own spoon of ice cream into kenma's mouth to shut him up as quickly as possible. "he's just…extra contagious or something.." Kuroo laughed at her poor excuse as he sighed. "you know, I got home earlier that day…you two aren't that quiet or observant"
"oh." y/n said dryly, heart dropping.
"why didn’t you knock or something?"
"YOU WERE IN MY ROOM, ASSHOLES-"
