#it is a racist caricature even if the depiction wasn't done with overtly malicious intentions

Favorite characters: Ray followed by Emma and Norman tying for second and Isabella coming in fourth.
Least favorite character: Andrew. He's the only character I actively hate. Other characters either have enough going on or are so inconsequential there's nothing to make me like or dislike them, but him? After we had Isabella and Leuvis as the villains of arcs? So disappointing with how flat he is, even with what he represents. (Shirai saying he's his least favorite too is a bit irritating because it's like "bro you could've made him better. 😭")
Why I started reading: Binged S1 in a day because I was hooked and had to find out what happened next. Was then told, without getting into details, S2 was horrible. Read a bit after figuring out where S1 left off, watched S2e01, read a bit more, watched S2e02, read some more, and then S2e03 wildly diverged so at that point I just read the rest of the manga before going back to watch the rest of S2.
Why I almost stopped reading: Closest I came to this was being disappointed how much direct combat was involved in Goldy Pond after the indirect battle of wits presented in the escape arc, and then feeling like Shirai was trying to have his cake and eat it too with the destruction of the bunker and six of the background kids dying. Felt muted after none of the GP Resistance kids died in Goldy Pond (exacerbated after reading further and seeing they comparatively don't get to do much), we don't get to see as much of the characters lives in the bunker as we do with the kids at Grace Field, and how Lucas was present in only ~23 of the 40 chapters we see him in the flesh for.
Favorite arcs: Escape arc followed by King of Paradise arc (113-130), Seven Walls arc (131-145), and roughly half the Imperial Capital Battle arc (146-153). Promised Forest arc (38-52) is also up there for seeing the Grace Field escapees interact with each other and their new nomadic demon parents.
Least favorite arc: Return to Grace Field arc (160-178). The disappointment in seeing their strategy come down to this after everything that preceded it:
Favorite ships: Norrayemma and Gildayshe
When I started reading: March 2021, over the course of three days after binging S1.
Favorite group: Grace Field kids
