#im writing about american foreign policy wrt HIV/AIDS research and prevention in the global south & the contentions between securitization#vs humanitarian aid and how even the humanitarian aspect tends to be based on very western/american/Christian and it used to further#economic or social or long term interests esp in regions where the US tends to have conflicts#and then a small section of how that contrasts with broad domestic responses due to once again national interest and imo securitization#so broadly the PEPFAR works to de-securitize AIDS abroad but the discussion utilizes security language however domestically#it has been securitized esp when the program was beginning - and thats due to the differences between the sexualization and racialization#of HIV/AIDS domestic to the US vs abroad#the draft is due next week. i am dying.
