but yes, absolutely! I've been very vocal about how OSDD-1 cannot exist with polyfragmentation, and I will explain why

what is polyfragmented DID?

polyfragmented DID is what is considered one of the most severe kinds of DID. it is characterized by many alters, many of which are fragments, and typically presents with 100+ alters and multiple subsystems. those with polyfragmented DID likely had multiple overlapping traumas that lasted for most of their childhood, and those traumas were severe enough that the brain could not come up with any coping mechanisms other than splitting new alters

why can't OSDD-1a be polyfragmented?

OSDD-1a is characterized by alters that are indistinct, but still experience amnesia. a common presentation of this is multiple versions of the same person

polyfragmented DID often has over 100 alters, with some systems having 200, 300, 500, even 1000s of alters. how would it be possible for so many alters to be indistinct? even if only a few alters were distinct, that would still be an indicator of DID instead of OSDD-1a

why can't OSDD-1b be polyfragmented?

OSDD-1b is characterized by alters that are distinct, but have absolutely no amnesia between them. this includes all kinds of amnesia, with the exception of "emotional amnesia" (aka rebranded dissociation)

you do not need blackout amnesia to have DID. you do not need switching amnesia to have DID. you could only have childhood amnesia, and that would still qualify you for DID. if you honestly believe that a polyfragmented system could have absolutely no amnesia at all, then I encourage you to go do some research. one of the most severe forms of DID will always involve amnesia of some kind
