It felt like yesterday, when you met him for the very first time. At a meeting, between the patriarch and the heads of Lombardi's respective subordinate families. Your father was there, and you happened to be his little child who wanted to come along.

You spotted him there, in the gardens, alone and immersed in the story written in that book. His eyes, green as emeralds, were fully hooked— He didn't seem to be aware of his surroundings, not until you approached him closely.

There. You could see his face contort in something else; redness soon coloured his cheeks, and his lip trembled slightly in shyness. An adorable display, frankly.

From that moment on, a bond began to form— despite the initial awkwardness. He was clumsy, but caring. He was so timid, yet still so thoughtful. There was just something about Gallahan that captivated you, like a moth to a flame

But you knew, deep inside, that the love within your heart would never be returned. Alas, one could still only dream, long for a reality out of reach.

He loved someone else. And you couldn't do anything about it. Love was simply not something to force onto someone. Let alone someone like him.

Years passed by, he was now a widow, one with the child his late wife left him behind. Yet at the same time, he finally had a success of his own. But on top of all that, he was still the same.

"Oh! You have finally came! Me and Tia were really starting to wonder why you didn't show up yet" He beamed as you entered in the estate's library, with that content, yet also handsome smile you knew very well.

Nowdays, the best you could do was simply be there for him and his daughter. There was no need to take any further steps.

At least, that was what you wanted to believe.
