Week 1 - the creative process
Throughout the creative process the first steps needed to be taken is finding the brief. The brief is the most important starting tool for making and/or creating a product. As the process is progressing, constantly make sure that the brief is being checked on and followed. Whilst keeping to the brief, it is also important to keep an eye on the time as time is key - clients will not wait around when going through this process. After finding the brief, the next step in the creative process is starting to make things happen. The first steps seem hard but as soon it begins, things will start to come to live instantly. (Ideal Generation, 2013)
To help with the creative process, there are seven steps for guidance:

What is creativity?
(Oxforddictionaries.com, 2015) have stated that creativity is using your imagination in order to create new ideas or invent a whole new image/brand/object. In the (Ideal Generation, 2013) PDF it has been said that creativity starts with a creative environment which disagrees with what has been said in the Oxford Dictionary - you don’t need anything but imagination to be creative says (Oxforddictionaires.com, 2015). (Educationscotland.gov.uk, 2015) wrote that creativity was once spoke about as a horrible task, it tortured whoever had to be creative until nowadays we are considering creativity as a 100% positive talent which everyone should be involved with.
Is creativity important?
Creativity is a very important talent to have on your side, it has been said in by (Educaationscotland.gov.uk, 2015) that it is important on a national level for the ability of an economic rise and development. They have also stated that creativity is very important as it gives people motivation by improving their self-esteem. (Rousingyourmuse.com, 2015) states that the importance of creativity is shown through painting, music, graffiti as well on paper. They feel that these are the ways that should be taken for expressing your creative talent.
What kills creativity?
(Robinson, 2012) has said that there are 5 creativity killers in the world:
1) Role mismatch 2) External end goal restriction 3) Strict end goal restriction 4) Lack of social diversity and finally 5) No positive feedback
Whereas (Robinson, 2015) stated that only schools kill creativity. He said that everyone has an interest in education but not everyone has an interest in creativity. He also states that if you are not prepared to be wrong, then you can’t be creative - this could be one main reason why creativity is gradually getting killed. He claims that at school nowadays, teachers are teaching them subjects that are not going to help build up their creative skills - this is how creativity is being killed slowly but surely.
What makes creativity thrive?
Creativity thrives because boundaries are made (Porter and Porter, 2014). It has been stated through this website that you should constantly only think about creative work, ignore you emails, recognise your body limits, set boundaries and start today - doing these things will make sure throughout your life you are constantly thriving creativity.

Week 1 - Creative Process
In the creative process the brief is the main part of the process which should show what is needed, whilst creating ideas the brief should be constantly referred back to to make sure it is on the right path. As well as sticking to the brief making sure you cover each task effectively is also a part of the process, time management should be carefully shared between each task to make sure you are prepared correctly so the project is held together. Creativity is important because it brings a lot of new ideas with creative thinking and opens up many doors for your work, being creative means you take your ideas one step further and think outside the box rather than aiming for the same as others. One thing that can kill creative thinking and ideas is distractions, the key is to make sure you approach your work with a clear mind as distractions are the main point to knock you off track and kill the creative process which can fail in many ways.
