In the game where the WoL finds Ysayle in the heretic hideout, my headcanon had Ridel chased down by suspect Ishgardian soldiers while on his mission to seek out her hideaway. They were no sooner laid low by his "Moonshadow"- something he had yet to understand or control... and Ysayle had come upon the aftermath...

(It also was the reason why he, Alphinaud and Tataru were tried for herecy upon his return...)

Those who frequented the Jeweled Crozier within the last thirty years may remember this simple family-owned Tea Room nestled within its backroads. Some may also recall the business quickly closing its doors following the Calamity. Fortunately, the shop has reopened to the public once more following the end of the Dragonsong War. After a long period of repairs, the shop appears to also be under new ownership — the niece of the founder, Lady Lissette de Isedaire.
