I took a break from watching the Christmas part of Hatoful Boyfriend and haven't picked it up in a couple weeks, but correct me if I'm wrong, isn't Isa's greatest love autopsies.

Like. Literal autopsy. I don't think anything gave him greater pleasure. I can hear his smile when he talks about it.

The gentleness in his voice when he's describing taking someone apart piece by piece with reverence and delicacy.

Papa/Isa just isn't feasible, that bird loves one thing and one thing only (joking. Clearly they had a mentor relationship because Ryouji had his fatherly priorities mixed up a tiny bit. Ryouji wanted to play baseball in the park and go out for ice cream, not. Whatever else people want to believe.)

Isa has very few things he shows emotion for and it takes a while of learning his behavior and studying his mannerisms to pick up on his show of emotions. He finds things interesting and that brings a smile to his face. Like the bonfire deal. That was interesting. He even allowed wearing a santa hat just so he could get work done and probably was taking notes of this peculiar behavior of holiday cheer.

He's not like. Void of feelings, but it requires a specific set of circumstances to get those feelings to be shown outwardly even the tiniest bit.

But yeah, no, there's just. Nothing there aside from a father/some kid he picked up off the street vibes

Isabeau doesn’t know how much longer he can grab at empty air. 

Isabeau doesn’t know how much longer he can watch Siffrin vanish in front of him. 

Isabeau doesn’t know how much longer he can wake up in front of the Favor Tree, Siffrin’s name dying on his lips. 

He doesn’t know how much longer he can open his eyes to a hand outstretched, black gloves outlined behind his eyelids like they were burnt there. 

He doesn’t know how much longer he can do this. 

(You approach Isa. He seems lost in thought.) 

“Isa!” 

(He startles and blinks once, twice, then breaks out into his usual grin.) 

“Sif!! Hey!!” 

(. . .Hm. A different response from usual.) 

“Need help with anything?” 

(Isa pauses, staring at you. He looks almost. . . scared?) 

“. . .Not. . . Technically. . . ? But what I want to do will take some time, so. . . Check back with me after you’ve lent everyone else a hand, okay?” 

(And we’re back to the script. You don’t know if this is a good thing or not.) 

(On the one hand. . . it’s comforting, this familiarity. On the other hand. . . it’s a sign that you’re doing something wrong, isn’t it? You should be scared. Worried.) 

(But Isa smiles bright and wide, and you remember that night under the stars. His eyes are sparkly and soft and and and and) 

(And your heart stutters again. Again and again and again. What is this feeling? Why are you feeling it? You want to reach out, suddenly. You want him to lift his hand up so you can grab it.) 

(You know how to get him to do that. You know how.) 

“By the way, what are you doing?” 

(Isa blinks. The sparkles are gone, but he still looks at you with the softness that makes your heart skip. It’s weird.) 

“Just looking at the Favor Tree. Isn’t it neat?” 

(You grin. You know how.) 

“Yeah, it is. . .” 

(Isa beams at you.) 

“Yeah? Glad you agree!” 

“One might even say it’s. . .” 

(Isa perks up. He knows a pun is incoming. His enthusiasm always made you feel a little better.) 

“Yeah??” 

“A pretty TREE-mendous tree.” 

(Isa snorts, tipping his back. His laughter is bright and infectious. You begin to laugh too.) 

“Yes!! Yes!!! Yeah!!!!” (He laughs.) 

(He brings his hand up. It gets closer and closer and) 

(And you hear the distant sounds of him screaming your name. You see his face and it’s pale and desperate and his hand reaches towards yours. You can’t grab it in time.) 

(He brings his hand to his side. You stare at it for a second. You can still hear the Head Housemaiden sobbing. You can still hear Bonbon’s panicked screams. You can still see Isa and his attempt at saving you time and time again.) 

(You don’t hear the rest of the conversation.)

 

As Isabeau leaves to sit by the Clocktower, he stumbles. He can hear the distant sounds of static, of Bonbon screaming and his own voice shouting Siffrin’s name. He can see a black-gloved hand reaching out, fingertips brushing his own before before before before before 

Before Siffrin disappears and Isa wakes up in front of the Favor Tree with his hand outstretched and a name on his lips. The ghost of fingertips brushing against his own lingers, accompanied by the feeling of failure. 

What good is Protection Craft if he can’t even keep his companions, his friends his family safe 

Family? 

He pauses at the word that seems to come so easily to him. Companions. Friends. Family. Family. Family. 

The word rattles in his brain. Family. 

Yeah. That’s a good word for them. Family family family. 

And he can’t keep them safe. He can’t keep Mirabelle safe he can’t keep Bonnie safe he can’t keep Odile safe he can’t keep Siffrin from disappearing and he can’t keep himself from waking up a failure. 

Something isn’t right. Something needs to change. Something to do with Siffrin. 

Somewhere in time, something went horrifically, terribly wrong. 

WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THEM……………. IS ISA REMEMBERING PAST LOOPS………………… WHAT’S GONNA HAPPEN…………!!!!!!!

i saw ur post and i highly recommend trying the peptides!! they’re so so hydrating and the tints are really pretty!

i recommend the tints because they’re scent free (and so pretty when u pair them with lip liners), good if ur sensitive to smell :) i’m not sure about the ingredients but i’ve never had any problems!!

but i have the og peptide and that’s also super hydrating as well! i just reach for the tinted ones more because its like lip gloss 🤞

my favourite shades are probably ribbon and toast <3
