The other day I realised that like, half of Igna and Argo's codependent stupidity and the fact that they're ready to risk their life for one another after disturbingly short time of travelling together probably results from the fact that none of them really had friends before. Mentors, family, yes - but not friends. Argo was heavily sheltered and there was a really broad social hierarchy gap in between him and any other elves his age in Riss, Igna was practically an outcast. Maybe not enough for people to spit over their left shoulder at her sight, but also enough that no one her age made an effort to befriend her.
Combine this with the fact they're both starbound riders and as apprentice Wanderers they're of the same rank and the "oh shit they're just like me!" effect had to take root pretty fast.
#isaldi spoilers#isaldi#OC#they have zero frame of reference#it also explains why Igna's initial attitude used to come across as a little standoffish#she was used to be treated differently or outward rejected so she started to brace for it#they go on to have more friends but the effect of initially being each others' only ounce of stability (not counting their horses)#in a frankly terrifying environment has left an uncomparable mark on their relationship#they are in many aspects very different - they deal with stress and emotions in different ways#they have different cultural backgrounds and different skillsets#but their pretty evident common thing is that they've been horribly lonely for a major part of their lives#here I go psychoanalising my own OCs#oops#treat it as behind the scenes

Last Line Challenge
Rules: In a new post, show off the last line you’ve written/drawn.
I considered myself tagged, by @rayless-reblogs
I happen to be pretty fervently writing these days (considering I have a lot of other work, it's probably creative procrastination). The last full sentence I've added would be (translated):
It was water under a bridge, after today's evening the squabble seemed to him like a distant, bad dream.
Consider yourself tagged if you'd like to do it!
#tag game#it's pretty lucky honestly if I had seen this one earlier any sentence would be an instant spoiler XD#in today's episode: Argo finally turns off the overthinking part of his brain (thankfully)#isaldi#writing
