Lover: What is your favorite part of the life you’ve built with your f/o?

> i think... just in general the relationship that we have. the trust that's grown between us, knowing the other has been and will always be there (even when things have been ROUGH we didn't give up. may be the sunk cost fallacy but it turned out to be worth it in the end, PHEW). an understanding along the lines of "we both want similar things, we've experienced similar things, we work well together, we want to do things together"... something like that :)

The Archer: Has you f/o had a positive or negative relationship with love in the past and how has that affected their relationship with you?

> oh. YOU KNOW... i think that because tom is a romantic at heart, he's always viewed love in a positive light, seeing it as a strength. but he definitely learned to be more pragmatic about it as well; using love and marriage as a way to climb ranks and escape the middle class. i think it makes for an interesting dichotomy.

but i want to think that once i come along, he'd start to rethink his priorities. like i've said previously, i want to believe i would've made him want something else, and remind him of the fact that he can always choose differently. and it'd lead to him genuinely appreciating the relationship and the eventual life we'd build together, because he knows the other side of the coin, the other way to be in a relationship - and it made him pretty miserable.

but i don't think i would've had much of an effect on him had he not been initially a romantic. like if he'd always viewed love (the way shiv does) as something that's really complex but ultimately a failing, he wouldn't have probably changed his mind about it upon meeting me... which is interesting to think about.

Alas, I am so sorry. I'm gonna answer this with my most obscure, most random fictional other and is therefore probably gonna be boring as heck to read. I'm also outing myself as a furry, but that's not a secret so much as not discussed yet. But I'm fixated on him so bad, so without further ado...Plotzo cuddles. With a ton of rambling because holy shit do I need an outlet right now.

1. What’s the most common physical gesture of affection you give? (Holding hands, arm around the shoulders/waist, leaning on them, etc.) What’s your f/o’s?

Imma climb this dude like a tree. Like, I'll just have a craving to wrap my arms around his neck and hang like a monkey or grapple his shoulders to clamber on like a backpack. I'm also prone to giving headbumps and just resting on him, especially if I get overwhelmed. Which is alot.

Plotzo on the other hand used to be more of a "Let's see how much we can embarrass her" kind of guy. He uses my head and shoulders as arm rests, and he'll straight up act like I'm a counter to do business over, leaning against me full "Welcome to McDonald's, what can I get ya." I'll be toddling over, and he already has his arm out expecting me to get into place so he can trade the wall for me to lean against.

2. Which is more common: kisses or cuddles?

Cuddles, easily. Kissing is a little wonky, because giant rat, pointy teef. But we're also both a little embarrassed about smooches, but hugs and leaning and laying on top of each other is just...so comfy.

3. Were you and your f/o cuddly with each other from the start or did it take some time for one or both of you to warm up to cuddling, if you ever did at all?

It. Took. Forever. He has a reputation to uphold, and I have a case of the 'tism. It started with small things like brushing arms and locking elbows. Eventually I proved I can hold my own in a scrap, so he was less worried about being seen with me. And in turn, I grew to expect and actually appreciate physical contact with him.

(It helps that he never initiates without being in my line of sight or giving a heads up. We had an incident where he went to hug me from behind and I flipped, which he luckily took as "lmao wtf?" and not "wow, she must be disgusted by me!")

1. Who initiated the relationship, and how did it go?

> tom did! after finally breaking up, he just showed up at my office at the end of the day, said he’s all done with shiv and that he wants us to be together. like grown ups should be, no sneaking around to find empty conference rooms or ”late nights at work” as an excuse to spend time together at my place. he wanted a real relationship with me.

i was taken aback and very surprised. i knew how much he valued his position and the power that came from being the partner of a roy so him breaking up felt almost like a love confession, so i felt very honored and a little bit terrified. but i was very happy, too; i’d been very casual about us so far and didn’t want to make it seem like that big of a deal if he’d decided to never separate, but at that point i couldn’t hide my excitement. and i didn’t need to, he needed my overjoyed reaction to affirm that the choice he made was the right one.

as for who initiated the affair that started it all… i think it was him, he thinks it was me 😝

2. Did they have an official first date? If so, what was it like?

> we did go on dates in our affair era, took some sneaky overnight trips together and went to expensive dinner dates but once we started to date for real i took him to my favourite bookstore and we picked out books for each other :3 super cliche but we were both feeling kind of sappy and we knew enough about one another that a basic dinner date felt kind of redundant. and it was nice to be out in public without having to worry getting caught.

3. What was their first kiss like?

> the very first one happened after a meeting of some sort, the tension between us had been building for a while and there'd been a few almost kisses but we'd always been interrupted. in a bold move i asked him to come to my office and we walked there in total silence, both of us knowing exactly what would happen next. once the door closed... we POUNCED. very intense and thrilling.

second first kiss was right after the Break Up Confession, initiated by me. i just got up from my desk, walked over to him and went for it. just as intense as the first one but full of relief and excitement instead!!

4. Were they each other’s first anything (kiss, relationship, etc.)?

> does tom’s healthiest relationship count?? we really weren’t each other’s first anything, but i like to think i’d bring him back down to earth a little bit and remind him of what it’s like to be a normal person in a balanced reciprocal relationship lmaoo. getting him away from the waystar and roy family drama…

5. What’s their height difference? Age difference?

> had to look up his height for this… he’s 6'3" and i’m 5’5”.... a VERY NICE height difference if you ask me, PHEW. and as for the ages, my s/is in mid thirties to make my position (HR executive) in the firm more realistic soooo i’d say around 12 years? he is 46 i think?

6. What’s their relationship with each other’s families?

> since he’s an only child (i assume???) his parents would be glad to have someone else to dote on too. they’d also be very happy he’s with me now instead of being connected to the roy family, they did not like the BAD INFLUENCE they were being on his BABY BOY. so we’d visit them pretty often for the holidays etc. meanwhile my folks are in finland so i doubt they’d meet much. but they’d like him well enough for the few times they met since he’s weird but rich and we have a good time together. (and because of the finnish heritage i've headcanoned him to have lol)

i’m gonna count the roys into this because waystar IS ONE BIG FAMILY and because i want to!!!! i truly despise logan (it’s mutual), don’t know how to feel about kendall, vibe with roman and shiv is pretty cold and hostile towards me (understandably lol, i don’t like her either). none of them would like me that much, but i think roman would grow to like me the most over time (because of the double dates we'd go on LMAO). greg’s also a buddy of mine but i’m not sure if i can trust him so i’m very guarded with him. connor and i would also get along well later down the line i think.

4. First impression of each other? Was it love at first sight?

hmmm. i think for me it was a sort of intrigue, instead of letting him just pass by like everyone else. he caught my attention, that's for sure. i thought of him as very fancy and sharp. sort of witty in a way i enjoy, but contained, too. like he felt and thought a lot more than what he showed. he was also extremely posh and because of that he came across as annoying a lot lmao. but i let that slide in the beginning because i didn't feel like i could tease him about it quite just yet.

james thought of me as surprisingly and casually really smart, i sort of helped him out with a mission during our first few meetings and he was impressed by me for sure, even if he didn't admit it at first. he thought i was very pretty, too, obviously :PP he liked how our humor matched and how we sort of connected really easily despite being totally different in terms of our work, our background, etc. he also liked how passionate i was about my research and just about fiction and books in general.

32. Do they ever get into trouble? Is it serious, or are they just mischievous?

trouble is probably james' second name or something. but if you exclude his work... he could be pretty chill. emphasis on the COULD. he wants to lay low whenever he can but unfortunately he isn't very good at it. trouble finds him often, and it's usually pretty serious.

i on the other hand, love a good little shenanigan and i'm pretty damn nosy with a meddling streak so... trouble happens. but it's definitely way more casual than his. unless i accidentally discover something related to his job, then it could get very serious. but i try to steer clear of that. UNLESS (x2) it concerns him specifically. then i want to know and help him out, no matter the trouble.

33. What kind of presents do they get each other? Do they only do it on special occasions?

if we talk about more casual presents, i give him a lot of food and baked goods. don't tell anyone, but the man has the BIGGEST sweet tooth. he refuses to admit it but he always gets visibly cheered up when i bake him something or get a treat from the bakery. i also buy him socks a lot. sometimes goofy ones with some kind of silly pattern on them. sometimes he brings me trinkets and souvenirs from his missions, if he has the time to get something.

as for the bigger presents, like birthday/christmas/anniversary ones, i like to think he has a very nice watch collection that i expand often haha. meanwhile i collect fountain pens and in turn he can always buy me one of those and be certain i'll be happy with it. we both get books and records for each other, he gets me plants, i get him fancy booze. we're both really easy to please in terms of presents (especially him, i feel like he silently really enjoys getting presents and is grateful for anything i get him).
