as a person who has been around the fandom block a bit, particularly in fandoms where privacy and ensuring a strong fourth wall are essential, i wanted to say to my fellow soapghost content creators:

block neil ellice

block him! it's okay! if you genuinely don't want him to see the smut or thirst posts or what have you...block him!

don't get me wrong; the man seems like a genuine sweetheart. but it is so, so important to maintain that separation between actor and character, especially in a situation like this when, well, neil kinda is soap. soap borrows neil's face, after all.

and it can be great to interact with your favorite actors on social media! but when fandom spaces cross into actors' spaces, it creates an uncomfortable dynamic for everyone involved.

i see this mostly on tiktok, where people are like "omg neil is on tiktok now no one tag him in this!!!" followed by a series of people tagging him, which is in itself very 😬

i don't say this to make anyone feel bad; i suppose this is mostly my two cents on how to handle the situation if you're feeling icky about it and a gentle reminder to keep fandom within fandom spaces.

anyway. back to writing my novel of soapghost porn 🫡
