mega downside of the fire & blood story being introduced to a wider audience through hotd is having to see people say the most rancid and/or ridiculous takes about the characters and the story with their whole entire chest

#already complained about people treating early season alicent like she's the most evil person alive even though she hadn't done anything bad #also seen people complaining that aegon ii isn't more sympathetic #and it's like. the man could the jolliest and most wholesome person alive and he would still be an usurper and a villain #perhaps hotd showing that people are willing to put a rapist on the throne instead of the rightfully named heir #is perhaps–just perhaps!–commentary on the patriarchy? just a thought?#also the one that infuriated me the most #is someone saying that they're afraid aemond's actions at storms end #are going to be portrayed as an evil war crime murder rather than a ptsd reaction #and i'm just like. uh. in what world is hunting down a 13 year old traveling under a peace banner not a horrible war crime????#anyway. will probably delete this! i am just seeing so many stupid takes dear god #pie says stuff #hotd
