Idk where it was, but I think I saw a post about how Cassandra couldn't finish saying the word "fair" without being consumed by the rage shard. Going back and watching the moment when it starts to go wrong in the wizard synod, Cassandra says "it's not fair" immediately before the shard rips through her and she begins bleeding out.
Thinking about this with the Bad Kids' convo with Lydia Barkrock and how the pit fiend in her chest couldn't say the name of the dead fallen god he served or he could only say it in certain contexts... I wonder if Cassandra had another sibling aside from Galicaea and Sol (or maybe it is Sol?? Or Helio???) that she was a right hand to or had a contract with (now I'm thinking about rules and relationships re: figs warlock classes????), and maybe what Lydia's party invoked is what happened to Cassandra. I wonder if, when the Bad Kids find out more about the ritual, they will recognize elements of what happened at the wizard synod.
Anywayyyyys, maybe I'm just drowning in red strings lol

Ep 16 also might explain why they needed a Helio cleric: a) similar godly domains (sun, wrath) makes the switch from Helio to Ankarna easier, b) raised to be followers, c) probably pissed off by sudden murder+finding out eternal reward for dying at 17 is big empty cornfield run by feckless frat boy who can't be assed to talk to you, let alone save your life.
(continuing from the last ask)
OK, Kristen really hated corn heaven but I think that was more about Kristen than corn heaven to be fair. When she dies at prom and goes back, she sees Doreen the lunch lady in her young hot body, smoking and bisexually flirting with angels. It wasn't for Kristen but it's not just like, the empty, no fun allowed Fields of Asphodel. And Helio isn't unique in not being super talkative. Logran Soulforger barely even talks to other gods he's so busy. I think Kristen is a very unrealiable narrator wrt Helio. Which is valid but I think it leads to us having incomplete info on certain things.
Anyway, more to the point:
a) Could be. Though it feels like you'd want Sol more than Helio, right? Maybe Helio is an easier backdoor cause he's a lesser god?
b) Maybe. Buddy sure seems like he was.
c) Again, not convinced this is actually true. Also, did Buddy even go to Corn Heaven when he died or was he sent straight to Ankarna? What was the process? It's possible but I'm not gonna assume before we know more.
d) Kristen's parents def seem like fire and brimstone kinda folks.
e) As in they're be good targets for rage crystals because they're already mad? Def possible. Buddy would maybe be a good spokesperson to start poaching Helioic followers if that's what they're going for.
