#is Nagato trying to warn Koizumi so he can prepare for trouble or so he can translate for the resident dumbass Kyon?

Pardon the literal Worst Screenshot In The World but Iām still hung up on what to make of The Adventures of Asahina Mikuru.
Movie!Itsuki is Haruhi in that heās unaware of his powers as battles are going around over himeach day. Koizumi the āactorā thinks of himself as playing the role of Kyon when heās playing Itsuki (at least in this translation, referring to the character Itsuki as āheā). Koizumi the actor refers to Itsuki the character (who he views as analogous to Kyon) making a choice between the true world (movie!Yuki) and the indulgent future (movie!Mikuru). This comment is first made by Nagato to Koizumi and then directed @ Kyon by Koizumi.
In other words, Nagato thinks itās important to point out that someone has a choice to make and Koizumi thinks itās Kyonās choice Even Though movie!Itsuki is a lot closer to Haruhi. Kyon certainly fits the role of the keyāhe can provoke Haruhi or Nagato into action, but he has no actual power of his own. Nagato here is warning Koizumiāher closest ally at this point in the story and usually the guy who translates for herāthat soon Kyon is going to face a world-altering decision. Koizumi answers that he understands her message, but he canāt really do much to influence Kyon one way or the other. Nagato answers him that sheāll take care of whatever happens. Possibly.
The easiest reading is reverse foreshadowing for Disappearance. Kyon has to choose between Haruhi (movie!Yuki, the true universe) and Nagato (movie!Mikuru, the fluffy future). Nagato is warning Koizumi sheās about to go off her rocker, Koizumi is trying to tell Kyon that he has the power to unleash Haruhi, Koizumi and Nagato agree that he doesnāt need to use it at present.
Except! There are constant hints that something has/could have gone wrong with Kyon and Mikuruās relationship. Asahina Mikuru (Big) warns Kyon not to get too close, the Sigh near miss comes from Kyonās defence of Mikuru, and the aborted Fujiwara worldline implies that something from Mikuruās original past has gone horribly wrong. Is this foreshadowing Disappearance, or is it lost foreshadowing for some over plot? Thereās a reference in Snow Mountain Syndrome to the SOS brigade travelling back in time that was clearly a dropped plot. Why not this? Or is it foreshadowing for what would become the Surprise arc, where Kyon must choose between Sasaki and Haruhi as gods/data generators/time anomalies?
#Iām missing something completely obvious Iām sure of it#this is my beloved fan translation instead the official translation because the library is missing Wavering for some reason#āthere seems to be a bond of understanding between Itsuki and Yuki which no one else can comprehendā I love my kidssssss#theyāre friends! a little awkward and distant but Itsuki and Yuki have the solidarity. they have to be competent and they resent it#kelsey liveblogs haruhi suzumiya#pleas e somebody else weigh in#the thing that doesnāt add up isāis Koizumi saying that Kyon doesnāt need to make the decision now (thereās no imminent danger)#or is he saying that Kyon should consider the decision between possible worlds carefully when it does come up?#is Nagato trying to warn Koizumi so he can prepare for trouble or so he can translate for the resident dumbass Kyon?
