an old man oc i wanna make, some sort of 'paranormal' shyster based v heavily on cαrl lαwson who made up a bunch of lies and shit to sell books about the bobby mackey bar, as he appears in that one ghost adventures episode about the place

kinda unassuming looking, big ol' glasses and shaggy hair, complete and total scam artist liar

maybe he comes across a girl that has Actual paranormal or psychic abilities or something so he sticks himself to her like a leech for personal gain

at first he thought her parents were also paranormal scammers, but her whole act was super convincing, as was theirs as concerned and confused parents

so he sets to start being more in charge of any media or interviews etc she's involved in, starts moving and shaking behind the scenes for exclusive rights to tell her story, making her more dependent on him you know the usual (made easier because her parents actually Were afraid of the situation and eager for someone else to take over handling it), maybe (definitely) even going so far as to push boundaries sexually and romantically to keep her close to him

i think once he eventually realizes she might be the actual real deal, he's torn between being absolutely fucking terrified, and his con artist, opportunistic nature- he ends up somewhere in the middle where he thinks its real and that makes him super nervous, but he just doesnt Think About It, and the siren call of money is stronger than his fear

or i might change it up and have him just being super gung ho about the actual paranormal stuff with no fear cause he literally doesnt realize what he's messing with here

maybe that one actually that seems a little more fun
