PRACTICE, PRACTICE (and more practice)

You can’t become a great dancer without practice. If you practice smart and everyday, you are sure to improve!

FOCUS

This applies to practice, rehearsals, and performance. To do these well you must stay focused on the task. Try to turn off and tune out any distractions both outside and in your mind.

PASSION

Passion IS everything. All the hard work and sacrifice you put into being a great dancer is meaningless without it. Always remember your love for the dance!

GREAT ATTITUDE

A great attitude is all about perspective. When challenges present themselves both in practice and performance, see that as a wonderful opportunity to improve. Progress itself is more gratifying than perfection ever will be.

DISCIPLINE

Reach your highest goals in dance by staying committed to practice, classes, rehearsals, and performances! Your level of discipline is something you prove to yourself daily. You can always get it back, but it’s very easy to lose.

MENTAL TOUGHNESS

Mental toughness is the ability to keep up the practice, the focus, the passion, the attitude, and the discipline even when your mind and body wants to give up. Remember that not every day will feel like you are improving. But this is actually false. Your are MOST DEFINITELY improving as long as you keep moving forward towards your goals, even when it doesn’t feel like progress. This is mental toughness and it is among the most important factors for a great dancer!
