This figure head of a lady is on the west doorway of the Augustinian Priory in Lorrha, This horned headdress that she is wearing was fashionable in Europe in the 15th century, This Lady maybe the lady of Lackeen Castle as the Kennedys of Lackeen were patrons of the priory. The road here at Priory is known historically as Boher Na mBan , road of the women. Note that blue paint still on dress and white paint on face (Lorrha's first camogie player?!)

We are two students who share a passion for the beauty and wonders of Ireland and we found it disappointing that tourists tend to only see certain areas and attractions that Ireland has to offer while there are so many hidden and not so hidden gems to be explored in other areas of the country.

To combat this we have created WandÉire, a concept that promotes and encourages tourists to travel to areas of Ireland that are steeped in heritage, culture, scenery and other attractive aspects so that tourists can gain a more immersive experience while they explore and navigate through the lesser-known gems that our country has to offer.
