Steam can work in Linux! Or at least I'm 95% sure it can. (The steam deck runs on Linux iirc.) I got Steam after I ended up back with windows and haven't switched back to Linux yet because I'm not sure which distro I want to try next, but I'm preeetty sure that Steam will work with at least a few distros, like Ubuntu and Debian.

my problem stems more from I don't understand anything about linux lol it's a future problem so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ hopefully microsoft doesn't go the subscription route bc I genuinely will probably never use a computer again lmao
