Hello everyone, my name is Lexi and I going to be starting my official start to college in the coming fall. I look this class because I was interested in learning about sociology. In high school, I was a cheerleader, equestrian, and I was on the rifle team. I plan to be a psychology major and thought taking an introduction to sociology would be a nice foundation to opening my mind to the reality of the world and to think sociologically.
This blog provides insight to different aspects of society and I have provided artifacts to tie all of these aspects together to show how everything can be connected and how we can see the different sociological issues that surround us.

Hello, All!
Welcome to this interesting journey we will be taking together as I try my best to reiterate and condense what I have learned this semester in Sociology 201 with Dr. J. But before we go into that, let me introduce myself. My name is Erin. I am a young adult, with the loosest possible definition of the word 'adult', who is trying my best to ride the struggle buss through college, sixty hour work weeks, a mental illness, three dogs, a boyfriend, and overly involved family, and an every growing pile of bills. I do not excel at anything but rather am 'slightly good' at many things. One of the things that I have always enjoyed, but never really thrived at, is school work. Which brings us back to this class I am taking. Sociology is defined as the scientific analysis of a social institution as a functioning whole and as it relates to the rest of society (Merriam). In this blog, we will be learning a bit more about ten different topics and how they relate to sociology. This could include pictures, articles, videos, links, and so much more. I hope that you will find these posts both educational and entertaining. Enjoy!
