I need to rant about Fadeshock. And before people come at me, my problem isn’t shipping those two. It is the oversaturation. Let me explain
I first joined this fandom when Fade was released. I didn’t know any other agent or the lore, only the stuff related to Fade. Her voicelines, capture and interrogation. Then I went on ao3 and there was not much with Fade. I was a bit let down but thought it would just take a while for fics to come about. And they did. The problem was that a lot of them were Fadeshock. This wouldn’t be a bother but it was all Fadeshock as in there isn’t anything WITHOUT FADESHOCK IN IT. I DONT WANT TALA I JUST WANT HAZAL. Finding fics were it is just about fade joining the protocol is impossible.
On ao3 there are 495 fics tagged with Fade (VALORANT), out of these 495 fics
213 of them are tagged Fade/Neon
353 of them are tagged Neon (Valorant)
If I remove The tag for Fadeshock there will be only 282 fics left. Out of those 282 fics 10 of them are labeled fade&neon ( I know this because I counted them.) and one has Fadeshock in it but is not tagged that way which I understood from the summary. 11 of them have the tag Fade/Reader which I will remove as well.
This leaves us with 260 fics. 2 of them I can’t understand because of the language barrier so they get removed.
Now we are down to 258. Would you like to know how many of these fics had Fade in the relationships tags or the summary??
103!!!!! THERE ARE ROUGHLY 103 FICS OUT OF THE 495 THAT IS NOT ACTIVELY FADESHOCK FADE X READER AND IN A LANGUAGE I KNOW IN WHICH SHE HAS AN ACTUAL ROLE.
I am also pretty sure these 103 fics ar not all completed so some may have not reached the part with Fade or she may not have an actual important role in. I do not know.
Also only 19 fics don’t have her in a relationship but still in the summary and I am pretty sure in at least two of them she is getting tortured.
This is probably the first time I am coming across a situation like this. Most of the fandoms I am in usually have most of their characters in a wide range of fics. Even the smaller ones. I don’t even know why the ship is so popular.
Now there are times I have read fadeshock (BECAUSE THERE WAS NOTHING ELSE.), I will say there are some hidden gems. But also the cringe I am induced with because Fade is using the cringiest pet names ever, or she uses them in the wrong way or she is characterized in this very angsty lone wolf way when she is canonically friends or in the same group as Cypher and Omen, is generally nice to her teammates and such kind of put me off of reading them or getting intrested in the ship. Also I don’t like the Grumpy one X sunshine one trope unless they have solid interactions which again they don’t have. This large amount is literally making me not check the valorant tag on ao3.
I just needed to get that out of my chest. I just think Fade deserves more variety in fics and her characterization. Thank you for reading.

Flowers on a grave.
Old stories retold under a snowstorm and ghosts of people long dead helping the living? How interesting.
Tw: blood
The man bleeding on the fresh snow watched as the lies effortlessly rolled off the woman's tongue, his hair was matted and dripping with a mix of blood, sweat and rain water. He pressed his rough hand on his stomach, weakly trying to stop the bleeding.
He coughed violently, crimson dripping from his lips and soaking his torn clothes. The soil below him dyed a vibrant red that was as bittersweet as it was sickening.
Quite the disturbing sight was unfolding in front of her, but she paid it to mind, the man's life had exhausted its use by now, so, he was no concern of hers.
He sighed, a sound so loud in his eyes it made the very earth shake, but to her, it sounded like nothing more than a final breath in the cold winter wind.
Deny it as she might, she still sat next to him as he bled out, listening to his regrets and advice, and finally, promising to fulfill his final, dying wish by the end of the night.
It felt like centuries, each minute that passed. They both knew no one would come to rescue them, but that small spark of hope never left, even as each second got colder and colder, the man still held out that he too, would survive.
The dancing flame on the candle flickered, its light dimming ever so slightly. And as the small flame finally died, so did the man. The smoke trailed off in the wind, signaling the end of yet another life.
Ayame did not cry for the man, but she placed a small, golden coin in his hand.
"How long ago was that?"
Her voice was barely a whisper as she watched the snow fall. There was a nagging feeling, a small seed of doubt in her gut, but she still moved onward. She still climbed the mountain, she still barely paid attention to what the other adventurers told her about the climate and the odd ice that wouldn' melt.
She wondered if that's how the man felt all those years ago. Thankfully, she wasn't bleeding, but she was freezing.
Dragonspine was a very intriguing part of Mondstat to Ayame. The howling winds and freezing temperatures pulled at her curiosity with viscous claws, guiding her deeper and deeper into its endless caves and tall mountaintops.
The beautiful, small blue flowers grew all around her in the cave--was it even a cave? Oh who cares, that's not important now--they hugged her body gently, their petals small and soft, but also deadly. They kept pulling and holding her down on the frozen ground with their stillness. The cracked ice above her taunted her, spilling howling lies and invisible puffs of breath in the wind.
The ruin guards all stood broken in pieces, wood and iron littered the arena above her. They where strong, far too strong, but even as they kept coming at her, she beat all of them. But down here, below, sat so many more of them, waiting for some unfortunate soul to find, and wake them.
As the ice gave out underneath her and she fell, some woke up, alerted by her presence, but others didn't move, they sat still, held to the ground by the same flowers that kept her trapped with promises of rest and comfort.
Their steps shake the earth, echoing the ice and splitting the ground. The flowers surrounded her, leaving her in a peaceful calmness.
Ayame's pale pink hair was sprawled on the ground, messy and matted, slightly contrasting with the icy blue of the ice and snow all around her, her chest rose up and down softly as the adrenaline finally wore off after what felt like eons, leaving her exhausted.
There was a warm orange light coming from a warming Seelie that was floating around near her hand, next to her, there was a Scarlet Quartz crystal. Its beautiful color hypnotized her, drawing her eyes away from the dangerously approaching ruin guards. She reached her arm out weakly, hoping to touch the smooth crystal, her fingertips barely reached the odd gem, but she felt a tingling warmth return to her skin for a few fleeting seconds.
There was a violent snowstorm outside, Ayame fell through a hole in the ice, and now she was exhausted, freezing, underground with no way to get back up, and surrounded by ruin guards.
Pity, really. A shame one might say, how she would die.
She knew this was the end, and she was okay with it. Ayame realised her story was coming to an end.
But she didn't want to give up, there was an untold tale she wanted to know, the three boxes she found told a story of a princess, a priest and a scribe, and Ayame wanted to know how it ended, how and why the sky frostnail fell from the skies. There where so many questions in her mind, questions she wanted to know the answer to.
The cold numbed her limbs, freezing her blood and making her eyes feel heavier and heavier by the second.
Ayame smiled sadly, exhaling the deep breath she was struggling to take mere minutes ago. And so, she gave in, closing her eyes and welcoming the cold death that she knew was coming for her.
Hey, at least this isn't the worst way to go, right?
Warm, so, so warm.
Huh?
She groaned, slowly opening her eyes only to be faced by the warm, red light of a fire.
A fire?
There was someone there, someone next to her. But how? How did they find her? Oh, but I guess that didn't really matter to her at that moment over you know, a cold death.
However they where, they saved her, and she had to thank them properly when she could. Her eyes fluttered closed once more, but now, she was sure she wouldn't freeze to death if she stopped for a second to finslly rest.
When she woke up, there was no one there. The fire was still strong and the snow next to her was uneven. That made the doubt in her mind ease.
So it wasn't a dream, huh?
Possibilities of the identity of her saviour danced in her mind.
Maybe it was someone she knew, or maybe it was a fellow adventurer climbing the mountain, perhaps it was someone else completely, someone she sadly wouldn't see again. Atleast, not alive.

Cycle of the Werewolf 1983
What is it about?
A series of gruesome murders start in Traker’s Mills bringing terror to it’s inhabitants every full-moon until Marty Coslaw– a paraplegic 10 year old boy– figures out who (or what) is the culprit.
Thoughts:
* So, in comparison to most of SK’s novels this one is father short, but not less enjoyable, the plot is very easy to follow and pretty straightforward (I was able to deduce who was the werewolf right away) which was pretty relaxing to read.
* The beautiful illustrations by Bernie Wrightson, so most of the books I read (including the ones from this challenge) are from the library and I was lucky enough to find the illustrated edition, and I recommed y'all to try and find it.
* Again Marty’s disability was amazingly handled, plus he is the hero of the story and honestly it’s such a good representation, let’s be honest the horror genere doesn’t give any represenation to people with physical disabilities and I find it great that King does.
*Also I'm not a werewolf kind of girl, but I loved this one, and the lore is very intresting.
TV/ Movie adaptations:
There is only 1: “Silver Bullet” from 1985.
It’s worth mentioning Stephen King wrote the script, so even if I found a LOT of changes from book to movie I still feel conflicted because SK wrote all those changes ya feel me?
I just loved Marty and his “Silver Bullet” looked so cool. His relationship with his uncle I loved from the book and only liked in the movie (cuz they completely changed the uncle) but seriously I loved the ‘Silver Bullet".
All this religious thing with the werewolf I kinda liked because it was a way for the beast to justify itself so that was great.
The werewolf looks fake af, I ain’t gonna lie, but also it’s all so nostalgic, maybe I’m just too positive ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ but I really recc it.
Quotes:
"“Lover," she whispers, and closes her eyes. It falls upon her. Love is like dying.”"
"Something inhuman has come to Tarker's Mills, as unseen as the full moon riding the night sky high above."
"(...)the shriek of the wind seems savage with pleasure. There is nothing of God or Light in that heartless sound-it is all black winter and dark ice. The cycle of the Werewolf has begun."
"Her store is failing by inches, and she weighs too much, but now, on this night of dreams with the moon a bitter blue flood through frost-traced windows, it seems to her that love is still a possibility, love and the scent of summer as he comes ..." ( btw I found Stella's brief POV beautiful and so poetic.)
"As many colors as there are on a dragon's breath, Uncle Al had said. But Marty supposes there's no law against a dragon breathing silently."
"He senses the moon somewhere above the clouds; he senses its power; his chest expands, straining the seams of his white shirt. He tunes the radio to a rock and roll station, and he feels just ... great!"
"Outside, the wind howls and screams against the snow-filled sky, and in Tarker's Mills, the first minute of the new year becomes history."
Next Book: "The Talisman" co-written with Peter Straub

OMFG! I can't belive I did read them all.
1.-Murder at the Happy Home for the Aged by Bulbul Sharma.
🌟🌟🌟
So it wasn't bad but it wasn't exactly great. Had some intresting stuff worth exploring much, but the book didn't go there and I mean fine, the characters were pretty bland, I was hoping more definition to them but nope, still the book is a pretty straightforward murder mystery and it is entretaining.
2.-None of the Above by I.W Gregorio
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I absolutely loved it!!! There is still not much talk or information out there about intersex people, so I really think this book is great for intersex people to come forward and tell their own stories, I.W Gregorio wrote a very informative story and honestly is great, the characters are so human and that’s what I loved the most of this book it felt so real.
3.- Defy the Stars (Constellations #1) by Claudia Gray
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Claudia Gray made me fall in love with a robot (sorry not sorry) and I adore her for it. Ok so this book is great, it laids out such an intresting complicated future for Earth and what would happen if humanity did succeed in colonizing habitable worlds, honestly this book is so great and the romance the FUCKING romance is *cheff kiss* exquisite like I want them together forever and I can't wait to get to the sequel.
4.-Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Fucking god this book is a whole ass ride. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it at all I thought I would drag myself through it but nope I was turning the pages like a possesed entity, I guess that it helped the fact that I found all the main characters such insuffrable hateful people that it filled me with joy to see what fucking misfortune was gonna happen to them next. Honestly I thought this book was gonna be all white power fantasy (it had some of that and the fucking PoC representation in this book is atrocious like fucking disgusting how Mitchell dared to think slaves were happy as they were her idiot mind) and all the glory for "ThE CaUsE " but this book is surprisingly self aware and it shook me cause most of the main characters think the war was a stupid ass idea and the only think they miss is the privilege and position they lost and honestly the way that post war is portrayed is quite raw and yup honestly it was a great read even if there were moments that made me sick.
5.- Feminismo para Principiantes de Nuria Varela
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
6.- Skyward by Brandon Sanderson
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I loved it!!! Spensa is so extra and she has my whole ass heart, I am dying for the next book to come out. That plot twist tho like I wanted to know what the Krell are and my mind was blown. This is the 1st Brandon Sanderson book I have ever read and I see why he is so succesful his stories are fucking bomb.
7.-The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane by Lisa See
This book made me ugly cry, it was so good and honestly I could see a lot of similrarities between how ethnic minorities are treated in China and how they treated here in Mexico and I depressed myself all over again about the unfairness of it all. The book was an amazing story of growth, healing, suffering... simply amazing, and I will definitely read more books by Lisa See.
8.-The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath
🌟🌟🌟🌟
Wow simply wow. This book has such an intense style such a way of taking you along the emotional and mental break down of Esther when she is faced with the world out side school and all this expectations she faces from her family, society and herself that it's just too much, that shit felt so real for me, I really liked it a lot but I don't think I'll be reading it again anytime soon cuz it really hit me too close being a woman that has (and still is) struggled with mental health a lot .
9.-An Assassin's Guide to Love and Treason by Virginia Boecker
🌟🌟🌟
The plot of this book is completely outlandish BUT it was a welcomed respite after the intensity of "The Bell Jar" and honestly I fricken love Shakespeare retellings (like pls go read Hag Seed by Margaret Atwood y'all) and the Twelfth Night is such a silly fun play what is not to like??? The pacing is good, the characters are ok, the romance is good and it's an all around fun silly story (yes they attempt to kill the queen but who cares?)
10.- Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I had only ever watched the movie before and it low key annoyed me how every incel fan boy out there thinks the movie is the truest shit out there (cuz boooooy the toxic masculinity of the whole ass concept of a Fight Club all those edgy ass bitches Tyler Durden wannabes drawing anarchy signs in their notebooks that I have had to deal with *sigh*), but I absolutely love Chuck Palahniuk's books, his sense of humor is my jam and I knew there had to be more to the Fight Club than edgy fake depth and omg like it was so funny this book is about the dangers of toxic masculinity (half of the book I thought our narrator was in love with Tyler and I was like omg this shit is so gay how are those incels not seein this??) and that fake ass depth all those edgelords worship had me in stiches. Truly loved this book.
11.- The Lady from the Black Lagoon by Mallory O'Meara
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This book tho. Millicent Patrick was a fricken badass and such a wonderful artist and her story is so incredible. Like wow the film industry hasn't changed all that much huh? It was an amazing biography, I was crying by the end of it at the amount of love that went into all the research and how important it is to bring to light all these creative amazing woman facing the odds just to pursue their dreams, the thing I loved the most about the book was Mallory intertwining the story of her research with Millicent story like I appreciate all the effort it took her and it was amazing to read it.
12.- The Prince (Original Sinners #3) by Tiffany Reisz
🌟🌟🌟🌟
First off, how dare u Tiffany Reisz!!! That fucking cliff hanger. Now onto the book, wow, just when I thought Søren's life couldn't get more fucked up u proved me wrong, also why u make me ship everything, like now that I know what Kingsley and Søren's relationship was and how much Kingsley still loves him and wants to be with him aghfhfhhd, but also Nora and Weasley, he is so goddamn sweet and they love each other but thing is I don't think they will work out at all, cuz Nora and Søren are so much like each other (the parallels between the 2 of them were so clear) and their love is still there even if they are apart and whyyyyyy u make me suffer like this???
13.- Descendant of the Crane by Joan He
🌟🌟🌟
This book is really great, all the construction of the lore and the political drama!!!! Like I live for that and I seriously need a sequel. A great fantasy with an amazing protagonist, those plot twists !!!!!! I never saw them coming. I just need the next book pls 😢😢.
14.-The Poppy War by R.F Kuang
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
This blew my mind, honestly this month I read such great fantasy books. I wasn't expecting anything that happened (well I did guess about what Rin was but it was pretty clear) it broke my heart time and time again and I need to get to the sequel soon (like why do I do this to myself, I need to finish a hella lot of series and I just keep starting new ones like a dumbass).
15.-The Way of Kings (Stormlight Archives #1) by Brandon Sanderson
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
💞💞💞 High Fantasy is my favorite thing in the world and this book, gosh i fell in love. The characters! The fucking world!!!! The political drama, the magic, the religion, (also all those drawings throughout the book were amazing) ahdhenmdhdj I adore when writers create whole ass worlds and this omg I hadn't been so excited about a high fantasy book since I finished the ASOIAF books. The story blew me away Brandon Sanderson dives right into it and I need to read the next book.
It was a great reading month for me tbh, I didn't think I would finish my TBR for this month but suddenly I did and it was because I got really great books and I hope next month will be just as good.
