Why Choosing a Reliable International Shipping Service in Canada is Crucial for Your Business
In today's globalized economy, businesses are increasingly expanding their operations beyond national borders. With the rise of e-commerce and cross-border trade, international shipping has become an integral part of many businesses' strategies. For Canadian businesses, choosing a reliable international shipping service is crucial for ensuring smooth and efficient operations. This article explores the reasons why selecting a dependable shipping service in Canada is vital for your business's success.
Timely Delivery
Timely delivery is of utmost importance in international trade. Customers expect their orders to arrive on time, and any delays can lead to dissatisfaction and loss of trust. A reliable international shipping service in Canada understands the significance of timely delivery and has the necessary infrastructure to ensure that your products reach their destinations within the agreed-upon time frame. This helps maintain a positive reputation for your business and encourages repeat purchases.
2. Safe and Secure Handling
When shipping goods internationally, ensuring their safety and security throughout the transportation process is crucial. Reliable shipping services in Canada have well-established protocols and processes to handle your products with care. They employ advanced tracking systems, secure packaging methods, and trained personnel to minimize the risk of damage or loss during transit. By entrusting your shipments to a reputable service provider, you can have peace of mind knowing that your products are in safe hands.
3. Customs Expertise
International shipping involves dealing with customs regulations and documentation requirements of different countries. Navigating through these complexities can be challenging, especially for businesses new to global trade. A reliable international shipping service in Canada has the expertise and experience to handle customs procedures efficiently. They can help you with proper documentation, ensure compliance with customs regulations, and avoid costly delays or penalties. This expertise saves you time, effort, and potential complications, allowing you to focus on your core business activities.
4. Cost-Effectiveness
While reliability is paramount, cost-effectiveness is also a significant factor to consider. Choosing the right shipping service in Canada ensures that you receive competitive pricing for your international shipments. Reliable providers have established relationships with carriers, allowing them to negotiate favorable rates on your behalf. Moreover, they offer transparent pricing structures and provide accurate cost estimates upfront, enabling you to plan your finances effectively. By optimizing shipping costs, you can enhance your profitability and maintain a competitive edge in the global market.

"The Hague made international headlines for being the first city in the world to approve legislation prohibiting marketing of fossil fuel-related products and services. This major ruling, issued earlier this month, seeks to limit the promotion of items with a high carbon footprint, such as gasoline, diesel, aviation, and cruise ships. The ban, which goes into effect at the start of next year, will affect both government and privately funded advertisements, including those on billboards and bus shelters throughout the Dutch metropolis.
This groundbreaking legislation establishes an important precedent in the global fight against climate change. Other cities have attempted to limit the reach of high-carbon items through council ordinances or voluntary agreements with advertising operators, but The Hague’s prohibition is the first that is legally binding. It is a major step forward for cities around the world that want to reduce carbon emissions and combat climate change head-on.
A response to global calls for action
The prohibition comes after UN Secretary-General António Guterres called earlier this year for countries and media outlets to take tougher action to combat fossil fuel advertising, citing parallels with existing tobacco advertising bans. Guterres stressed that, as with the tobacco industry in the past, fossil fuel businesses are contributing to a worldwide public health crisis—in this case, climate change. Governments can help change public behavior and prevent the normalization of high-carbon lifestyles by limiting their capacity to market.
Several cities have already made tiny moves in this direction. Edinburgh, for example, approved a council vote in May prohibiting fossil fuel-related ads in city-owned venues. The Scottish capital also prohibits enterprises that sell these products from sponsoring events or developing partnerships. However, unlike The Hague’s legislation, Edinburgh’s ban is voluntary and only applies to council spaces.
A legally binding first
The Hague’s new law is significant since it is legally binding. The restriction affects not only specific items, such as gasoline, diesel, and fossil fuel-powered vehicles but also businesses such as aviation and cruise ships. However, the rule exempts fossil fuel firms’ political advertising or efforts supporting a generic brand, allowing these businesses to keep prominence...
The impact of advertising on behavior
Advertising’s impact on consumer behavior is well-documented, and many experts say that fossil fuel marketing undercut climate legislation by encouraging unsustainable behavior. Thijs Bouman, an associate professor of environmental psychology at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen, stated that “fossil fuel advertising normalizes the use of high-carbon products and services, making it more difficult to change consumer habits.” ...
Catalyzing change worldwide
The Hague’s move may have repercussions beyond its borders, spurring similar actions in other cities around the globe. Cities such as Toronto, Canada, and Graz, Austria, are already launching campaigns to outlaw advertising for fossil fuels. In the Netherlands, both Amsterdam and Haarlem have outlawed marketing for climate-damaging products like beef, but these measures have yet to become legislation.
Sleegers believes that The Hague’s move will act as a spur for other towns to follow suit. “More cities have a wish to implement the fossil ad ban through ordinance, but they were all waiting for some other city to go first. The Hague is this city,” she said, predicting that more local governments will now feel empowered to act...
As the world grapples with the rising costs of climate change, The Hague’s pioneering move provides a potential model for other cities looking to minimize their carbon footprints. With cities like Toronto and Amsterdam keeping a careful eye on things, this legislation has the potential to start a global campaign to prohibit fossil fuel advertising.
More cities may follow suit in the coming years, hastening the transition to a more environmentally friendly and sustainable future."

greetings mr strange i have a question about your merch store, do the shirts get printed in canada (or america) and shipped from there or do the printig location varies depending on where you order it from?
because there is so much cool stuff on there but im in europe and buying stuff from overseas always comes with an additional handling fee which is kind of impossible to forsee the amount of and i cant afford unkown expenses right now :(
have a nice day and give the bingopodes scratchies from me:)
Greetings :) everything is printed in and shipped from the US so Americans are going to get the best shipping prices for sure.
The merch service I use is fourthwall and their FAQ does warn that there can be unforeseen import/ handling fees on international orders. I think if you usually have extra fees when ordering from the US, it makes sense to expect you might when ordering my merch.

Rishi Sunak and the D-Day Disaster
Babes wake up, Rishi Sunak did a fuckup again!
Hokay, so, at time of writing, yesterday was the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings during World War II. This is a big deal for a lot of reasons, D-Day is one of the most significant events in the largest and most destructive war humanity ever fought, and this is likely to be the last major anniversary that the surviving veterans will be alive and well enough to attend.
Political leaders from the world over made their way to the Normandy beaches for a commemoration. Biden, Trudeau, Macron, Scholz, and Zelenskyy were present. Keir Starmer was there, as were King Prince Charles and Prince William, but the UK government proper was represented by Rishi Sunak and David Hameron.
Until suddenly it wasn't!
Let's run down everything (that I'm aware of) that went wrong!
As part of the British event, army paratroopers landed on the beach... and then had to reconvene in a tent to get their credentials checked by the French authorities. Because Brexit happened and we don't have free movement any more! Pro-Brexit nimrods have, predictably, complained about getting exactly what they voted for.
Once each nation's part of the proceedings were done, they were to reconvene at Omaha Beach for an International commemoration. Speeches, medals being awarded, that sort of thing. Except... Rishi Sunak was not present.
No, see, Rishi "The Least Elected PM Ever" Sunak had stayed until the end of the British event and then promptly fucked off back to England, snubbing the leaders of America, France, Canada, Germany, and Ukraine and leaving everything in the hands of the Hameron, his also-unelected foreign secretary that last rubbed shoulders with any International politicians when he was fucking everything up in 2016. Also, in the hands of his main rival, Starmer (Okay calling Starmer and Sunak rivals is a bit unfair, it implies Sunak has a snowball's chance in hell, which he does not).
Naturally, people were pretty fuckin' steamed about this, and put Rishi on blast for showing enormous disrespect to... literally everyone involved. Especially since this is right on the heels of Sunak proposing that they bring back National Service to "fill young British people with loyalty and honour."
Don't worry it gets worse.
Naturally, there are a lot of journalists with cameras present, and this means that we get to see images like these:
Image Description: Left to right, David Cameron, Emmanuel Macron, Olaf Scholz, and Joe Biden, standing in front of a partially cloud blue sky. Macron, Scholz, and Biden are lit by the sun, while Cameron appears to be in the shade.
Image Description: Keir Starmer sits, centrally-framed, among D-Day veterans in ceremonial dress uniforms. To the right of the frame sits Emmanuel Macron.
Image Description: Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Keir Starmer talking, with a photojournalist in the background aiming his camera at them. Both are smiling.
Quote Pippa Crerar, writing for the Guardian (You may remember her from that time she blew the lid off of Partygate!), Starmer is "already looking like a Prime Minister."
So this is really, really bad for Rishi. Britain has been keen to support Ukraine lately, and we've actually shipped a supply of our Challenger 2 tanks over to them for their use. The impact from this hasn't been as massive as you'd hope, largely because the British military has been absolutely gutted under the Tories, for reasons that I'm sure had absolutely nothing to do with all the financial support David Cameron got from Russians, but Britain has been trying to help.
Boris Johnson in particular liked to really stress the Ukraine point whenever he was losing control of the narrative, essentially making Ukraine's plight and his support for them a shield from criticism. And now, here's the leader of the opposition being photographed in a positive light with Zelenskyy. The optics are incredibly bad for Rishi.
But surely, Rishi had a reason why he had to zip back to British soil post haste? Maybe an emergency that he had to resolve?
No, he needed to record an interview with ITV, for his election campaign. That was it.
Well, interviews in election cycles become outdated pretty quickly. Normally a few days is enough to render them outdated. It must've been pretty urgent.
No, the interview is scheduled for release in six days' time.
That's an eternity in election season. There's a high chance that more than half of its content will be void by the time it airs.
As a reminder, we are four weeks from the big day. In fact, yesterday was exactly four weeks before election night. Time is very short.
Well, maybe this was the only time they could fit him in?
Nope, Paul Brand of ITV has confirmed that this was the date and time Rishi wanted, and they could've moved it to prevent scheduling conflicts!
So, how did a fuckup on such a grand magnitude happen? How did Rishi manage to create a clash between the 80th anniversary commemoration of an event with a specific date (6th June, 1944 is not hard to remember, my guy!) and the election that he called? Well that's very simple! He didn't want to be there at all.
Yes, it seems that Rishi had already told the French government a week ago that he wouldn't be attending at all. Someone seems to have convinced him that skipping the event entirely was a bad idea, but not enough for him to actually commit to it.
Image Description: A block of text reading "The French government was told a week ago that Rishi Sunak would not attend the D-Day 80th commemoration, Tory sources have confirmed. The message to Paris from his team was that he would be too busy campaigning in the general election to make the trip. The decision was reversed, and a short visit was the compromise, but it is extraordinary that an attendance by a Conservative PM, or any PM, was ever in doubt."
Rishi has denied this, however, so the whether it's true or Sunak has elected to not lie for once, well, that remains to be seen.
Quote John Healey, Labour's defence spokesperson, “Given that the prime minister has been campaigning on the idea young people should complete a year’s national service, what does it say that he appears to have been unable to complete a single afternoon of it?”
Conservative commentator Tim Montgomery called it "political malpractice."
And so, after thumbing his nose at half the world in order to pursue an already-foundering election campaign, Rishi Sunak decided that he needed to apologise. Via tweet.
It's been a very bad day for Rishi Sunak.

On September 25th 1956 the first telephone cable connecting the UK and North America “went live”.
Before 1956 a phone call to Canada, or the United States, would require booking several hours in advance as the various radio links required were established – assuming atmospheric conditions allowed the connection to work at all. But on 25th September, 1956, the first voice call crossed the pond from Newfoundland in Canada to Oban.
The cable carried 35 simultaneous calls, and 22 telegraph lines (squeezed into a 36th voice line), bringing down the cost of calling America to a pound a minute (bought in three-minute chunks) which would equate to over £30 in today's money.
TAT-1, as the cable was known, didn't just carry public phone calls, it was also used to send the Queen's Christmas message to the Commonwealth, live, and was a vital segment of the Moscow-Washington hotline, which is why the 100 or so Post Office workers had to sign the Official Secrets act.
The cables were laid over the summers of 1955 and 1956, with the majority of the work done by the cable ship HMTS Monarch. At the land-end in Gallanach Bay near Oban, Scotland, the cable was connected to coaxial (and then 24-circuit carrier lines) carrying the transatlantic circuits via Glasgow and Inverness to the International Exchange at Faraday Building in London.
On this day in 1956, TAT-1 carried 588 London-US calls and 119 London-Canada calls in the first 24 hours of public service.
Arguably the most important instance the cable was used was when the world was on the verge of Nuclear war during the Cuban Missile crisis.
TAT-1 carried the Moscow-Washington hotline between the American and Soviet heads of state, although using a teleprinter rather than voice calls as written communications were regarded as less likely to be misinterpreted. The link became operational on 13th July 1963 it took the US, for example, nearly 12 hours to receive and decode the initial settlement message that contained approx. 3,000 words. By the time the message was decoded and interpreted, and an answer had been prepared, another – more aggressive – message had been received.
After the success of TAT-1, a number of other TAT cables were laid and TAT-1 was retired in 1978.
Pics are the cable coming ashore in Scotlan a stripped back piece of cable and a map showing the route.

hi, i was really hoping to pick up a sticker from your shop, especially one that isn't available on your other storefront, but if i'm getting a single sticker is the shipping rate still applicable? it's listing as 17 dollars for post to the US, which i understand there's the strike going on, but i am not experienced with international shipping especially for something that would presumably be in an envelope, and figured it couldnt hurt to ask if it might be lower for something smaller
i genuinely don't want to sound like a dick, but i've gotten this question a lot
i live in saskatchewan, canada. there is no other cheap option in the province i live in because it's not a "international hub." we don't have chit chats or any of the other cheap options outside of the national postal service. the absolute minimum price for UPS or purolator is $15-19 for a 30g flat envelope, purolator even charging $40+ for rural locations in canada
to send a sticker with canada post its $1.40 to the US, but i can't charge you for an item when i don't know when i can send it. the post offices won't even accept mail and no mail is moving to sum it up, no there is no cheaper option where i live to send stickers until canada post is back to normal operations

Understanding the Differences: General Warehouses vs. Bonded Warehouses
When engaging in international trade, warehousing plays a crucial role in managing and storing goods. Warehouses can be categorized into several types based on different factors such as operations, goods stored, and storage methods. Two of the most important types for importers and exporters are general warehouses and bonded warehouses. In this blog, we will delve into their differences and how they impact your logistics decisions.
What is a General Warehouse?
A general warehouse, often referred to as a public warehouse, offers storage and various services to multiple clients on a rental basis. These warehouses are typically used for domestic distribution, where goods are stored before being sold and distributed within the country. At Golden Freight Forwarding, we provide general warehousing services in Canada designed to meet your domestic storage needs. Whether you require short-term or long-term storage, we ensure your goods are handled with care and delivered promptly.
Key Features of General Warehouses
Domestic Distribution: General warehouses are ideal for storing goods that are intended for local distribution, ensuring efficient and timely delivery to customers within the country. Flexibility: Goods stored here have no additional customs restrictions, making them easily transportable and tradable within the domestic market. Supervised Storage: Since duties and taxes are already paid, general warehouses are supervised by authorities, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
What is a Bonded Warehouse?
A bonded warehouse is a secure facility where imported goods are stored before they undergo customs clearance. This type of warehouse & Distribution allows businesses to defer payment of customs duties and taxes until the goods are ready to be distributed or exported.
At Golden Freight Forwarding, we offer top-notch bonded warehousing services in Greater Toronto that help you manage your imports efficiently. Our strategic locations near major ports ensure your goods are stored safely while waiting for customs clearance.
Key Features of Bonded Warehouses
Duty Deferral: Goods stored in bonded warehouses are exempt from customs duties and taxes until they are released, helping businesses reduce immediate tax liabilities. Secure Storage: Bonded warehouses provide a safe and compliant environment for imported goods, minimizing the risk of damage or theft. Cost Efficiency: By delaying tax payments, bonded warehouses offer significant cost-saving benefits, especially for businesses involved in re-exporting goods.
Types of Bonded Warehouses
There are various types of bonded warehouses, each catering to different needs: Public Bonded Warehouse: Owned and operated by the government, these warehouses are open to anyone and are used to store goods not intended for sale in the country. Private Bonded Warehouse: Privately owned and used to store goods that are allowed for sale by customers, often for goods exported from a country. Customs Bonded Warehouse: Privately operated but regulated by the government, storing goods for sale in the country from which they were imported. Duty-Free Bonded Warehouse: Operated by third-party logistics providers, these warehouses store goods exempt from taxes or duties.
The GFFCA Advantage
At Golden Freight Forwarding, we specialize in both general and bonded warehousing services, helping businesses streamline their logistics operations. Whether you need to store goods for local distribution or manage imports, our expert team is here to support you every step of the way.
Why Choose Bonded Warehousing?
Cost Savings: By deferring duties, you can reduce your financial burden and better manage your cash flow. Strategic Locations: Our bonded warehouses are located near key ports, ensuring quick access and efficient distribution. Long-Term Storage: Enjoy flexible storage terms, with options to store goods for up to five years at no extra cost, allowing you to manage inventory according to market conditions. We have an important update about DAEMON/DOLL's pre-order availability, particularly for international customers. Please read!
First of all, thank you everyone for your patience regarding the physical pre-order period! That said, we have a few more updates about how the physical pre-orders will work...
Unfortunately, we will only be able to accept pre-orders from the US and Japan. This is mostly due to tax complications- some places are very difficult or impossible for us operating as individuals to ship to.
There will be an order cap on the number of pre-orders we accept (as there are only so many CDs we can fit in Lone's bedroom.... which is where we're shipping everything out of.....)
Once we hit the order cap, pre-orders will close and merchandise production will begin. While the exact order cap number will remain private, we'll post notifications when we hit certain percentage milestones to keep you updated on how close we are to the cap (50% sold, 75% sold, 90% sold).
BUT!!!! All international customers will be able to purchase leftover stock!
Leftover stock will be hosted and shipped by Very Ok Vinyl, who is able to ship worldwide! Both the album-only and deluxe editions will available for purchase at the same price as the pre-orders.
(Proceeds from the leftover stock sales will still be paid out to the contributors- Very Ok Vinyl is only acting as a distribution partner, as they can ship to places we were struggling to find shipping solutions to- such as the EU and South Korea!)
This will allow us to reach more places than before, let us get the album to you with less stress, and hopefully make the ordering process smoother for international customers.
The response to this project has been beyond what we imagined, but I hope that means you'll understand if we weren't expecting such a large amount of potential demand, as we are just two people who like Teto who are shipping CDs out of Lone's bedroom.
We're very sorry for any inconveniences or confusion this may cause, and appreciate your continued flexibility and understanding! Feel free to reach out with any specific questions: [email protected]
Thank you for your patience!
TLDR: We had to restructure CD sales due to demand. What does this mean for you?
If you're an American or Japanese customer...
Basically nothing has changed for you! You will be able to place a pre-order starting on 4/27 through our Bigcartel.
We ask that American and Japanese customers refrain from buying leftover stock so other international customers have the opportunity first.
If you're any other International customer (Everywhere except US and JP)...
You'll have to wait for leftover sales to purchase the album; you won't be able to pre-order.
Sorry that you'll have to wait a bit longer! But the alternative was that we wouldn't be able to ship the album to you at all- this was the best way we could work around our limitations. And this way you won't have to wait as long for the album after you buy it 🙂 Thanks for your patience and understanding!
If you're an EU + UK customer who filled out the interest form...
Not too dissimilar from our previous set-up. Instead of the Etsy shop, you'll be buying leftover stock from Very Ok Vinyl instead (which will ship to you much faster than we would be able to). We'll be using the pre-order numbers to gauge demand for the leftover stock, so hopefully everyone who wants one will be able to get a copy!
If you're a Canadian customer...
Very Ok Vinyl is based in Canada, so congratulations on the reduced shipping cost and wait 🙂
"I'm a customer in a place that's generally hard to ship to. Will you be able to ship to me?"
Very Ok Vinyl's international shipping is done through PostNL and APC. You can check your specific country on their service update pages: PostNL / APC.
