closed starter for @ingridlczano at le cirque
Tyler didn't go out as much as she used to, her interest in being around a bunch of people waning with every passing year. That, coupled with the painful thud she felt in the back of her head from all the noise, made it a less enjoyable experience than she'd been hoping. Leaning over against the bar, Tyler put in her request for another drink, head shifting slightly towards the person next to her. "You look familiar," she mused, not placing at all where she knew Ingrid from. She just hoped it wasn't from something stupid she'd done, but there was always the chance that it was. "Why do I know you?"

closed starter for @ingridlczano at the wedding
Weddings, or really any big party, were an environment that Katerina de la Rosa thrived in. It didn't matter if she knew people or not, she was going to have the best time regardless. After hanging around chatting with a few friends and familiar faces, Kat had wandered her way over to the bar for a drink, grabbing an extra when she spotted Ingrid across the way. Sidling up over to her friend, Kat offered the drink with a grin. "Drinks and then come dance with me?" she suggested with a shimmy of her shoulders, always ready to find any excuse to get out on the dance floor at events like this.

"I guess it's a little fancy," Ty shrugged. Her boat was one thing she'd let herself go crazy with when it came to spending money, a purchase she'd yet to regret. It was something she'd had for long enough now that she often forgot it was something most people could never have. "You don't know how to swim?" she asked, brow lifting a bit in surprise. "Did you just never learn or like are you just bad at it?" Ty had learned to swim young, the community pool one of the easy, free places to hang out.
@ingridlczano
"Somehow I don't doubt that," Ingrid exclaimed and actually smiled at her, thinking that with her confidence, it must have been an easy task. She had been witness to those strong arms after taking the self-defense class the woman needed. "Yachting, huh? Sounds fancy. I think I like being on solid ground.. makes me feel safer. And then, I guess not knowing how to swim plays a big role in that," Ingrid half-joked, making a face. "Good luck though. I mean it."

closed started for @ingridlczano at true colors
It had been awhile now since Tyler had started volunteering to teach a self-defense class at True Colors, something that she saw as rather important for people to learn. Some days there were big classes of people, other nights it was just a few stragglers that came through. She was posted up in one of the rooms with all her gear waiting for the class to start, brow lifting when the door opened up. "You here for class?" she asked, gesturing towards the mats that she had set up earlier. It was looking to be a slow night, perhaps even a no-show on the evening if Ingrid wasn't there to take part. "Might just be you today."

"A watchful guardian? Sounds like my nightmare," Kat teased. Her parents had never really filled that role, both of them usually inclined to let Kat figure things out on her own without a lot of rules to abide by. Rolling her eyes with a laugh, Kat gave a firm nod. "Can't have you relying on the pigeons, they can be very temperamental anyway. We'll get you something." Kat was sure there had to be better ways of getting an old phone for Ingrid than relying on some sketchy post on Craigslist. "See, probably too good to be true. Sounds like some scam shit. Honestly, I probably have a bunch of my old phones somewhere at the house if you want one of those, even just temporarily. I just upgraded mine like four months ago maybe, so the old one is still not a bad model. And you know I only buy phones with good cameras."
"Got it. I can't leave you unsupervised. Consider me your watchful guardian from now on, missy," Ingrid joked in response, her smile reflecting the warmth of their friendship. They may have shared some adventurous inclinations, but she knew when to draw the line. After all, ending up with bruises on her face wasn't her idea of fun. "Well, I do need a new phone. I've heard mail pigeons are quite expensive these days," she teased, adding a playful touch to the conversation. "I don't really care about the brand as long as it can take decent pictures and doesn't lag every five seconds. That's why the deal for the iPhone 12 at 150 bucks caught my eye. Seems like a damn good offer."

It was never a dull day at the farmer's market and when Yas spotted two women throwing potatoes at each other and screaming, it was impossible not to stop and watch what was going on. Yas hadn't seen the inciting incident that started it all, but she'd been stopped there long enough to gather that it was some type of family drama. "I don't have the whole story yet, but the one on the left has definitely been calling the one on the right a man-eater. Whatever that means," she snorted, shrugging her shoulders. "Pretty sure they're sisters, so...family meltdown at it's finest."
@ingridlczano
location: farmer's market character: @yasdogan & ingrid.
Ingrid meandered through the bustling aisles of the vibrant farmer's market, relishing the vibrant colors and fragrant scents that enveloped the air. The sounds of lively conversations and cheerful laughter filled her ears, creating a harmonious backdrop for the community gathering. As she perused the stalls, her eyes caught sight of a commotion nearby. Two girls stood face-to-face, their expressions twisted with anger and frustration. Ingrid's gaze widened as she noticed that they were hurling potatoes at each other, their actions an unexpected contrast to the peaceful atmosphere of the market. "Damn," Ingrid muttered under her breath, a mixture of surprise and concern coloring her voice. "What has gotten into them?"

Eating was, without a doubt, one of Kat's favorite activities. When Ingrid had invited her out for a dinner, Kat had agreed without hesitation. It had been far too long since she'd caught up with her friend and it was past time to just hang out. "I forget how good the food is here, it's fantastic," she agreed with a pleased hum, settled back into her own chair as the plate in front of her was now empty. "You are very welcome, though, it's been great. I haven't seen you in ages anyway, so we were due for a dinner date." Kat tried to be good at keeping up with everyone, but with as many people as she had in her life sometimes time stretched a little farther out between seeing people. "Is there something I should be nagging you about, though?"
location: farm to fork
character: @katerinadelarosa & ingrid.
"That was so good." Ingrid muttered, settling back into her chair as she looked down at her empty plate. It had been forever since the young brunette had gone out, let alone enjoyed a meal without getting a headache. She just wanted to have a peaceful day with her friend and was glad to be getting just that -- no drama, no people worrying over how she's doing, or her sister pestering about whether she needed to carry pepper spray or not. "I'm so full, I think you could easily roll me down the hill to reach home." she joked, smiling over at Kate. "Thanks for today, you have no idea how much I needed to have a nagging-free day."

"You won't have to wait long, I'll be cruising to the finish line before you know it," she promised, not for a moment considering any other outcome. Ty had done well in the race in previous years and even if she had a somewhat less skilled partner, she had enough faith in herself that she didn't see anyone else taking the win. Her head bobbed, kind of getting not being a water person, at least when it came to the lake. "Lake water is kind of fucking gross, so that's fair. I like the ocean alright, though, I go yachting a lot." She had a boat on the dock in her backyard for the lake too, though that was far less exciting to take out.
@ingridlczano
Being someone that no one cheered for, usually, Ingrid could kind of understand her reaction. She could even consider being loud for her, if Ty made it close to the top, and it seemed like a high possibility that would be the case. "I like your confidence. I'll go sit at the front so you can hear me," she half joked, because she anyway wanted to be able to see the race better. "No, not really. I'm just done with my shift at the food truck, so I wanted to see what this is all about. It's cool, but I'm not a huge water person. I just like to watch and not go near it."

Just arriving at the club for a night out, Kat took her time heading towards the bar, stopping here and there to greet people she knew before she finally got up to the front. Her grin lifted when she spotted Ingrid, sliding in at the seat next to her as she gave her friend a half hug. "Mmmm, just the question a girl loves to hear before she's even had a drink. What are you getting yourself into?" she teased, taking a beat to put an order in for a drink before letting her head swivel back towards Ingrid. "Total ten if you go by yourself, though. Zero if you agree to take me with you. I can fuck a guy up if I need to."
location: le cirque nightclub
character: open to all, capping at 5 ( @providencepeakstarters )
Ingrid leaned against the counter, the pulsating beats of the nightclub filling the room around her. Her mind was consumed by a pressing dilemma, and she sought solace in the dimly lit space. A sense of urgency lingered in the air as she desperately needed a new phone, longing to regain her lost connection with the world. Scouring through countless ads, one particular listing on Craigslist caught her attention, promising an enticing deal. However, doubts clouded her thoughts, questioning the prudence of meeting a stranger from an online platform. Sighing softly, she turned to the first person that approached the bar, "On a scale from one to ten, just how stupid do you think it would be for me to meet up with this guy from Craigslist?"

If there was anything Ty loved in life it was people cheering for her. She had a lot of it in her career, but even in the stupid small things like this, that kind of attention always boosted her ego. "Hell yeah. Might as well cheer for the eventual winner," Tyler agreed with a slight swagger in her shoulders as she said it. Ty didn't know yet who she was being paired with for it and perhaps would have lost all that confidence if she knew what was coming, but at least in the moment she didn't doubt for a second that she'd take the win. "Did you come to watch anyone specific?"
@ingridlczano
Ingrid watched as the woman, clearly an athlete, prepared for the upcoming race. It made perfect sense to her, someone so active and skilled wouldn't want to just sit on the sidelines. While the race looked exciting, the brunette knew she wouldn't be of much help, especially since she couldn't swim. "Nah, not really. I don't think I can do it, but I'll definitely cheer for you," she replied, her idea of cheering likely limited to polite clapping if Tyler came in first. She had no intention of getting too invested or making any bets.

"Good for him. I hope he succeeds because you deserve it." If anyone did, it was Ingrid. Kat wouldn't go about pimping her out like Dean might have been, but she was absolutely in full support of anything the guy was doing. "Of course, though, c'mon. We can go chill outside or...hell, we could find a quiet room around here somewhere probably. I can get us in." It was a bit chilly outside to be standing around, but another room in the building could be a peaceful spot to relax and Kat had every bit of confidence that even if they were locked she could find a way inside. "I absolutely get that. I know too many people here, makes it weird. It's why I do so much better meeting people overseas."
@ingridlczano
Ingrid burst into laughter, playfully draping her arm around the brunette's shoulders, drawing her into another embrace. "Dean's attempting to do the same, and trust me, it's cringe-worthy. Can we sneak away for a bit? My feet could use a break," she pleaded, yearning for a brief escape. "I'm torn. I know half the people here, and the others either have dates or aren't worth bothering with," Ingrid admitted, turning to her friend. "Please, you know I can't wear dresses like this just anywhere. But, I have to say, it's refreshing when people don't recognize me right away."

"Lot of morons in the world," Tyler agreed. While she wouldn't call herself a genius by any stretch, she at least had a bare minimum of common sense. At least, most of the time she did. Her head bobbed, always happy to welcome more people into the classes she offered at True Colors. It was one of the few publicly visible things Tyler did to give back in any capacity. "Yeah, they're the same time, same place, every week. I think they ask people to sign up beforehand, I dunno. I just show up and teach it." Any of the real details she left to the staff there, the most she was able to plan in advance was showing up every week to help offer the self-defense class.
@ingridlczano
Ingrid nodded with a grin, glancing at the brunette. "Sadly, not everyone has that kind of wisdom." She chuckled softly. "You know what, I'll definitely make it back to those classes. Just need to sort out my schedule for this month. Maybe I'll even convince my sister to join me, so she can pick up some skills too." She wanted Freya to be capable of defending herself if needed. Ingrid wasn't about to venture into this alone, and she saw it as a worthwhile investment of their money.

Shoulders bouncing at the compliment, Kat let her grin stretch even further across her face. Ingrid was one of her closest friends, someone that she'd had in her life for a very long time, and it was moments like this that reminded her of why. "Okay, I'm a little upset that I never got the memo that we were supposed to be putting you out there all night," she teased, taking a moment to overtly look around the reception area as if hunting for someone for Ingrid. "C'mon, there has to be someone that caught your eye tonight. It's a wedding, love is in the air, totally the perfect time to go make your move." Kat reached over to nudge at Ingrid's leg with her foot, an impish smile starting to pull at her lips. "Definitely a bad thing for the rest of us. We deserve to see you all done up like this more often."
@ingridlczano
Ingrid let out a gentle laugh at her friend's words, taking a quick sip of her drink. "You're adorable, you know that? And yeah, you might be a tad biased, but that's precisely why you're one of my all-time favorites," she half-joked, although the part about Kat being her favorite was absolutely true. "Don't fret, Dean's been doing a great job reminding both me and the whole world that I'm gorgeous and single," Ingrid exclaimed, her grin stretching from ear to ear. "That little shit can't make it any more embarrassing for me." She paused for a moment, reflecting, and then continued, "I haven't gone all out like this since high school graduation, and I'm not entirely sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing."

Trouble was something Kat could almost always get behind and the mention of it brought a glint of danger to Kat's eye. "Well, you know better than to leave me out of any trouble. Wouldn't want me to have to run off and find my own trouble, that's just asking for problems," she teased as she settled in comfortably to the seat next to Ingrid. Sighing dramatically as Ingrid explained, Kat let her head drop to one shoulder, looking over at her friend with a bemused grin. "That feels like a terrible fucking idea, but I'd absolutely go with you if you're convinced you need it. Or, better option, we find you a phone that's not from a serial killer's collection. What kind of phone are you looking for?"
As Kat approached, Ingrid's smile only grew bigger, and she warmly wrapped an arm around the brunette, reciprocating the embrace. "More trouble, as always. Don't you know me at all?" Ingrid mused, unable to contain her laughter. "You know I have a knack for getting into quirky situations. Anyway, I definitely need a new phone – something that works. I stumbled upon this random ad yesterday, and it seemed like a good deal, so I thought, 'Why not give it a shot?'" she explained, shrugging her shoulders. "I'm not going to let you go all vigilante for me. Worst-case scenario, we could just use our speedy legs and run like the wind, together."

"I mean, I know I'm not going to go out and fuck with someone that may give me rabies," Tyler shrugged. It was a deterrent for sure, though not necessarily a great one. "You're probably better off actually learning some self-defense, though. Just in case." Most people never ended up needing it, but Tyler had seen multiple people from her free classes come back and give her stories of just how much help it had been for them. Never stories you wanted to hear, but at least the outcomes were a success.
"Don't sweat it, I'm fully vaccinated. No one's going to be catching rabies from me," Ingrid joked, flashing an easygoing smile at the brunette. Deep down, she hoped that all those techniques she had learned during those classes would remain unused. The truth was, the thought of having to put any of them into action made her doubt if she'd react as smoothly as intended. "But you know what? Your idea's pretty solid. No need to broadcast my clean bill of health to the world, right?"

"If it's a bad concussion you can fall asleep and find yourself in a coma. Symptoms can come out of nowhere," she pointed out with a shake of her head. It wasn't the type of injury you could brush off, Tyler would know. "How long have you had it for?" Some could last for days, weeks, even longer if the symptoms are bad enough. It was worth getting checked into, at the very least. "Well, can't really do anything physical if you're concussed. You get in a fight or something and get your ass kicked?"
"Yeah, maybe." It was like hearing Ver again, hell, it felt like the whole town was teaming up against her to get this thing checked. She didn't like hospitals or doctors for that matter, and Ingrid was a believer that everything could go away with a good night's sleep. "It can't be that bad. I guess that's why I wanted to sit in the corner and watch. I'm resting. It will be fine." Shrugging her shoulders, the brunette's stubbornness still remained, even after getting punched in the face. "No, not really. I mean, a few friends showed me a trick or two but it wasn't enough."
