dexter knew his father isn't the best man , yet he never suspected that he would go as low as having an affair with someone his youngest son's own age. it had taken a couple of moments to realize that he actually knows the fem that stood before him. dexter hadn't seen zuri since high school , and if he remembers correctly she dated his best friend for some time. than there is the memory he tucked away of himself and zuri hooking up after some party that his friend had bailed on because he got into some petty fight with the fem earlier and the evening. dexter had promised to take care of her for his friend since she had made it clear she wasn't going to allow the other male to ruin her night. it had been a secret that both parties had decided on keeping from the other male , and if they hadn't than maybe the two wouldn't still be best friends now. " did he not tell you his last name when he introduced himself? cause i know for a fact zuri you're a smart woman and would have put two and two together ... " a charming smirk forming upon the male's lips as his gaze stays glued on her. wanting to make sure that she is aware of the fact that he knows exactly who she is. dexter is completely taken back by the confession of the extent of the lie that his old man had fed her to talk her into sleeping with him. wouldn't have slept with the older man even once if brunette had been aware that he was married , fem was told the divorce had just been finalised when they had met in a bar a few months prior . although zuri should've picked up on the red flags ; they always went to her apartment , he barely spoke of his family even though she knew he had children and this was the first time she'd ever been into his home , bringing her in during the middle of the night when he knew that nobody would be awake and it would be too dark to see all the family photographs around the home which he must have conveniently taken from the bedroom . in brunette's defense , she had tried to end things multiple times –––– he was only supposed to be a night of fun for her but she assumes he grew obsessed . ' shakes her head vigorously as homme threatens to bring in his mother , she didn't want that . zuri didn't want to break up a family , it wasn't in her kind nature . all she wanted was to leave this house , delete the older man's contact and never interact with him again . mouth parts to tell him that she was going to leave immediately when he seemed to already have a defense plan for her . head tilts to one side in confusion , still seems odd that he wanted to help her but zuri wouldn't question it . ' okay , sure . i'll pretend to be your girlfriend for a minute . and then as soon as everything is settled , i'll leave and i promise i'll never come between you guys again . i'm so sorry . '

The pair had already been down this road before but this time they weren't teenagers. It could be seen as a case of right person wrong time. Dexter knew that there is a possibility that Lee is still messing around with the likes of Clavin. He had nothing but hate for him , and hates the way that he didn't treat the blonde the way that she deserves. There had been not type of warning before Dexter found himself moving closer to the fem , hand resting a hand upon her cheek before leaning in to press his lips gently against her's. Something he had never told Lee after their break up was that he felt like he'd never find someone else to replace her. The love that Dexter has for Lee is different than the one he has for his wife but a part of him still and will always have some sort of love for the blonde. He only wanted what was best for her. "Honestly? Studying is the only thing that I'm good at. It gives me satisfaction. I don't know how to do anything else." She had spent her whole life aiming for excellence. Her brain wasn't wired for complacence. She always wanted more, soaring higher. And perhaps, that was a problem. The heartbreak she had experienced with Calvin had played a role in that. She wouldn't fully blame him but she once thought she could live a different life with him in it. Maybe in another life, she would have been married to him. "Well, you tried and it worked. Now you're here." Dexter never needed to justify his thinking and his decisions to her. "It didn't matter how you went about it. You'll always end up right where you need to be. It's all meant to be." She smiled. "It already happened. There's nothing they can do to change it. You and your sister should be a cautionary tale. 2 of their children eloped. They ought to know that they're the one in the wrong."
