Ah. Right. La Galleria. Of course, the host of that day’s luncheon would only seek out the best and—well—the most expensive eatery in town to cater the affair. He’s only a tad embarrassed not to recognize the owner, or that his name should escape his attention. Though, Deacon concedes, it’s not as if he’s needed to network all that much recently. “Oh? What’s the other restaurant?” A tilt of his head, curious. “Isn’t that a bit of a difficult position, though? Surely you can’t, ah, help but check out if the patrons favor pickings from the other restaurant over yours?” He says, tone playful, even as his line of inquiry rings just a bit unwise. No one has ever accused him of being too smart, though. “Me? Well, I’m, ah, part of the community,” he chuckles, “Thinking of volunteering, maybe. Have you ever thought of doing that? But I imagine the restaurant keeps you busy, huh?”
"Without a doubt." the man nodded his head in agreement, picking up his now refilled glass. "One of the sponsors. My restaurant is one of the two providing the lunch today. La Galleria" he man said, proudly. He had been making his way around and not only was everyone enjoying the food, but there was also enough. That could always be a concern in events like this where more people than expected could show. But his team was great and he had no doubt they were more than prepared. "How about you?"

Man, could Saul Elisha Weissberg throw a luncheon. It’s arguably the best and worst thing about him, that capacity for pulling everyone into his orbit. Deacon’s got half a mind to say that it feels, in part, like another means to stroke the lawyer’s ego (which reeks in overabundance as it is). But the cause that his sister’s ex-husband has advocated for does appear to be plausible. More than plausible, actually, though he’s always thought Saul Weissberg preferred showing his support for the gay community more, ah, intimately. And hands-on.
Deacon gravitates towards the bar, the appeal of afternoon drinking lost two tiers of sobriety chips ago, but he concedes it’s still the best place to induce conversation. Almost immediately, a patron does catch his attention, posing him a question to which he replies with a small nod. “Got to hand it to the guy, he throws a mean luncheon,” he says, turning his head to survey the man, sporting rather rugged features. “You, er, a donor? Or a volunteer?”

The Yilmaz loved to support a good cause. They each did it for various reasons, but Emir always did it out of genuine care. He was very big on supporting mental health and teen advocacy. His brother's passing impacted the family tremendously. Being only 11 years old at the time, he went through different ranges of emotions through his grieve. But maturing helped him see the importance of supporting mental health and the LGBTQ+ community. He was more than happy to have La Galleria provide some of the buffet options. He had come in with his mother and older brother, but after a few minutes he excused himself so that he could mingle with other people.
He greeted some business owners and familiar faces, making friendly conversation before he ended up at the bar when he realized he had an empty glass. It was no fun to socialize dry. "Can I have a glass of pinot grigio, please?" he asked the bartender before turning back to look at the people mingling in the hall. "This came together quite nicely...quite the turnout too."
